KYC Verification have it's Pros and cons....

Yes, it is a nice tool to reduce money laundering, but it cannot prevent it. There are enough poor people out there, that can be paid to do the money laundering for the cartels. (They go through the process with their valid documents and the drug cartels pay them a small percentage of the money that they push through these casinos)

The bad thing is...... KYC Verification are also used by criminals to gather personal information. Those so-called "hacks" of personal data... might just be criminal cartels gathering personal information to use in other criminal activities.  Roll Eyes
1622  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-03-15] Forbes - How Africans Are Using Bitcoin Without Internet Access on: March 20, 2023, 08:53:01 AM
The moment when you are going through some centralized cellphone service provider, it is not decentralized anymore.... right? I know some African countries also use MPESA that are also channeled through Cellphone (mobile) providers.

I work part-time in Africa on contract basis and I know first hand how challenging their Internet can be, but they have Internet Cafe's there with WIFI that people are using. One thing I can say..... they are very innovative with their solutions.  Grin
1623  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Can I post this ? on: March 19, 2023, 07:32:15 AM
Well, you certainly made the correct moves to provide enough evidence to back your story. It would be nice if you can post the screenshot of the Google cache.  Wink

The site looks very dodgy, so I reckon they are "beginners" in the field or just a site that was designed to scam people. In any way, thank you for the post... it might help other people who might consider to deposit there.  Wink
1624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found my Bitcoin books from 2016 on: March 19, 2023, 06:48:56 AM
Yea, I still remember the days when freebitco.in were giving away 1000 satoshis per hour (or was it 500.. so long ago)  Roll Eyes  Most people told me that it was a waste of time and simply "dust" ...but when the Bitcoin price hit $60 000+... I used that money to fund a Ledger Nano.  Grin

I also had about 7 browser tabs open to catch the faucet, the moment when the time expired. I then realized that it was much better to gather information and to join signature campaigns ...and this bumped my Bitcoin hoard significantly.

The best thing about this was not the bitcoins I gathered, but the valuable knowledge I gathered.  Wink
1625  Economy / Economics / Re: Has anyone felt lost in pursuit of financial freedom ? on: March 18, 2023, 11:50:38 AM
So, there are a lot more you can win in your pursuit of money.

1. Quality time with your family
2. Your health (Due to the influence of stress)
3. Your religion or faith
4. Your personality (People change when they become rich)
5. Some people lose their old friends.
6. Your partner / marriage / girlfriend

People should find a balance in life.... spend enough time with family and friends ...but occupy the rest of your time to get some quality fun time and some time to rest.  Wink
1626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won 500$ on Stake on a blackjack (in 1 minute) on: March 18, 2023, 09:47:25 AM
You know Stake.com has a nice feature, where you scroll down and then you click on "My Bets" ..... then you show us you bet history too. You cannot just show us 1 bet outcome (Win) and then call yourself an expert.  Grin

If you want to share something, work out a good winning Blackjack strategy and share that with us. We can then test that strategy and if it works, you can be rewarded.  Wink
1627  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to become a slot game admin? on: March 18, 2023, 09:27:10 AM
In your opinion..... What is a Slot Admin?

So, some casinos have a chat option and you have administrators/moderators that are in control of the chat.. Is this what you mean? You are specifically using the word "Slot" ..so it can also be a Slot developer? (The people who design the Slot games)

In physical "Brick n Mortar" casinos, you have system administrators that work with the network and the associated devices, but they cannot influence the outcome of the Slot games.  Tongue
1628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a treasure. on: March 18, 2023, 09:14:28 AM
Good Day medium, there is something I will want us to be aware of since bitcoin is a life-changing investment some people are taking it as property, I say this because I overhear someone making a call and saying he has 2BTC and that's is his property.
Now that bitcoin is more valuable in most countries, that shouldn't be a property it should be an investment, those who see bitcoin as property should learn more or read more about bitcoin and how it works.
To me, bitcoin is an investment and also a treasure, I don't know if am wrong or right.
But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?

You have it wrong OP, it is not an investment. Satoshi Nakamoto developed it to be a payment option... not an investment option. Go read the White Paper on Bitcoin and see what Satoshi calls it.

Like "cash" or fiat currencies... people can trade with it (Forex markets) but it is primarily supposed to be a currency. Anything you own.. can be your property... so it does not have to be a house or a piece of land.  Tongue
1629  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin 2008/09-2022 History Paperback/Hardcover Book on: March 17, 2023, 06:41:44 AM
Hi, there .... Tyke!

I have read almost all the books on Bitcoin that I could get my hands on, so I am looking forward to buy your book. I hope you can clearly describe the setting of Bitcoin in the early days and how it evolved over the years, so that "newbies" can understand how difficult our environment was in the early years.

Today, you can openly brag about your Bitcoin ownership, but in the early days it was cloak and dagger secret stuff.. that almost nobody knew about.

Good luck..... and please give us regular feedback on your progress.  Wink
1630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The journey of successful business man who were professional gamblers on: March 17, 2023, 06:14:47 AM
The thing is, a gambling operation can generate a lot of profit in a very short time. Let's take Stake.com as an example : In 2016, Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani established Easygo, a company which developed games for online casinos. The two helped create Stake.com which was founded in 2017. (5 to 6 years ago) - Source : Wikipedia

Today, it is one of the biggest online Crypto casinos in the gambling industry and they are sponsoring people like Drake and soccer teams like Everton and Watford.  Roll Eyes
1631  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Bitcoin always affected on: March 17, 2023, 05:58:40 AM
We have to accept that the Bitcoin market are also "infected" by a lot of speculators. These people do not care about anything other than profit. The speculators are very trigger happy, because they have to protect their profits, so they will dump at the slightest indication that there might be trouble.

They will sell their bitcoins before it happens and then move that money into other "safe heavens" to protect it. That is why the market are influenced by negative news.... even if that news are bogus. (FUD)  Tongue
1632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you Think might aid the global adoption of Bitcoin? on: March 17, 2023, 05:51:08 AM
Let's look at the biggest motivator for it's success so far and then extrapolate from that to give you a good answer. What happened in the countries where Bitcoin adoption increased the most? Answer : The fiat currency in that country failed or it nearly collapsed under hyper inflation.

We can wait for more and more countries to go through the same crisis or we can educate people on the solution (Bitcoin) before that happens to them. Unfortunately people are only forced prior or during a crisis to take that step.... but we can educate them about the solution, before it happens.  Wink

I just want to ask something about the Live Slot Hunt....

1. Can someone win the Slot hunt every 24 hours, like player Kartenstapel are doing now? The rules of the Slot hunt says, not within a 24 hour period.

Yesterday, a player called Randyflares posted his winning bet id just before player Kartenstapel, but it was completely ignored. (The mod registered Kartenstapel's win and also the player YSLSlime win) - I then checked player Randyflares bet and it was valid. (It was within the time / it was way above the required amount needed and it was one of the Slots in the Challenge)

I took screen captures of all of this, to double check if I did not miss anything.

Bet ID 144,483,321,412 - Randyflares
Bet ID 144,483,547,508 - Kartenstapel
Bet ID 144,483,643,109 - YSLSlime

Player Randyflares asked in Challenges Chat if his bet was missed, but nobody responded... Why is that?

I am just asking these questions, because I play the Slot Challenges every day... and I want the hunt to be fair to everyone. I understand that people are making mistakes, but they must know when they do... and then it must be corrected and prevented in the future.
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Random Number Generator and it's importance in Online Casinos on: March 16, 2023, 06:23:35 AM
Did you see the one streaming session with the co-owner of Stake.com ..namely Eddie, where he used the Google random generator to pick winners and then one of the gamblers showed him that he can pick the next number, before it was ran on the random generator?

Yes, it is flawed.... if you know the first number that are drawn, so it is very important to "refresh" the page.. after each random number are drawn. The numbers are still random, but the next numbers can be pre-determined, if you continue without refreshing the page.  Roll Eyes

I still trust the RNG, but I also trusted Google random generator... and someone found a way to exploit it.  Roll Eyes
1635  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 16, 2023, 06:06:43 AM
Ok, so I read through all the posts that was posted in my thread and it seems as though the majority of the people are saying that AI will not be able to "beat the house".

Now, I have to agree with them, because the "house edge" are fixed, so casinos are designed to win, even if AI are used... but what happens if AI found an exploit? (Can the exploit be used to clean the house?)

Casinos are now up against a new challenge to protect their profits, but they can also use AI to "test" their games and also to test their security to prevent any exploits that might be found by the AI and provided to the players.  Wink
1636  Economy / Gambling / Re: AskAI: List of on chain gambling game. on: March 16, 2023, 05:56:20 AM
In my view AI has one flaw.... "Garbage in, garbage out"

The AI has to acquire data from the Internet and then process that to give an answer to the question. The info that are posted on the Internet are done by humans, so it can be flawed.

Until AI can be clever enough to sort the good information from the bad, it will just be as dumb as most humans. This is a typical example of that....  Wink

1637  Economy / Economics / Re: With the present economic outlook, do you think that this is good advise? on: March 16, 2023, 05:48:31 AM
My father always said, "Those who can work with their hand, can feed their mouth" ....now, even if that was good advice, I still believe that a third element are needed in that statement.... which is, "brain power".

Let's make an example ..... Who is getting the most money in any organization? ==> CEO or owner of the company. The workers are very important to his or her success, but the most money are in managing those resources. (using your brain and not just your hands)

That said, even CEO's or Owners of businesses has to start from the bottom, so they have to get the skills to manage other people around them.  Wink

Silicon Valley Bank collapse may not be the last. Blackrock CEO warns of 'slow rolling crisis'

Source : https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2023/03/15/larry-fink-blackrock-warning-silicon-valley-bank/11479410002/

The funny thing is, back in 2008 the Banks were bailed out by the governments ...and now they are blaming the governments for their failure. I quote ==> " Aggressive fiscal and monetary policy since the 2008 financial crisis has contributed to high levels of inflation not seen since the 1980s. “To fight this inflation, the Federal Reserve in the past year has raised rates nearly 500 basis points. This is one price we’re already paying for years of easy money – and was the first domino to drop,” Fink said.

Yes, we all knew bailouts will only help for a few years and then the dominos of the Fiat system will start to drop. I hope people are seeing the signs and securing their wealth in decentralized (non-government controlled) technologies, like Bitcoin.  Wink

Let's discuss....
1639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is for the strong. on: March 15, 2023, 06:33:00 AM
You should consider this....

Does that friend calculate all the money that he spend on movie tickets or payments to NetFlix or Amazon Prime ...or all the takeouts (food) that he paid for?

Yes, there might be better ways to spend that money, but what did he or she get out of that? I gamble for entertainment and also for that rush of excitement that I get from a big win.... so it was money well spend.

Could I have spend that money on better options... Yes, for sure... but what stress would I have had, if I did? There are time for work and then there are times for fun... gambling should be fun... not a way to make money.  Roll Eyes
1640  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there anything like Bitcoin savings? on: March 15, 2023, 06:19:00 AM
Ok, now you have to understand....

The goal with a savings account are to gain interest, so some Banks will offer fixed savings accounts where you constantly deposit or transfer funds into a fixed saving account to get more interest.

Bitcoin wallets are different, because you do not get interest on those bitcoins that are deposited there. Yes, the Bitcoin price might increase and you might get much more value from those coins, because it is valued more... but that is not interest.

The benefit of having bitcoins in a wallet are the accessibility of that money. (You can lock those funds with smart contracts, but it's a more complex process and I think it should only be applied to people that do not have the discipline to save those funds)  Wink
