I am doubting myself for being bearish but at the same time this pump does not make too much sense. I feel like this should dump back down. What am I missing here?
The last time I saw you talking like that we hit $500.

Remember guys: Let's see how the recovery unfolds, if any. It might bring back the memories of the arrest of Ross Ulbritch to the market if a steady rise ensues.
Don't tease...

Why are we still discussing Classic like it's not a failed project already?
Didn't you get the news?
Apparently, it's YOU who didn't get the news. I think he's referring to f2pools tentative agreement with core about a 2mb block size in 2017. So we know f2pool and probably Kano supports core. Kano is insignificant and f2pool might shrink quite a bit in a couple of months. 2017, so we would have to bite our nails for a full year at least, enduring higher fees, lesser reliability, and a degraded user experience. Awesome. Nope, Bitfury and Antpool are going to push f2pool below 20% and f2pool will start running Bitcoin Classic. Kano is going to go into full troll mode for a while, who knows where he'll land.

I am tired of all that shit. I quit Bitcoin until the next ATH.
I failed to quit. Nice to hear.

They should just fold and move on, it's getting embarrassing.

If Luke-jr would quit dumpster-diving 486s, we might start getting somewhere.
Good one! I can't stop laughing!

@smooth you are arguing with the multi-account house troll formerly known as NotLambchops (NLC).

With a sharp constraint on the maximum blocksize there is currently _no_ rational reason to believe that Bitcoin would be secure at all once the subsidy goes down.
Bitcoin is valuable because poeple believe it has value, if there is a limited supply of block-space then there it can only be valuable to a limited number of people.
You see?!?!?!!?! Even the local drunk gets it!!!

I guess Hearn's ragequit doesn't look so bad now.
Seriously, given all that shit its remarkable that we are still at 380$... You seem like a level headed guy, are Core out of their fucking minds? i think its no more than a threat at the moment, but it shows the childish attitude that brought us here in the first place. gmax and luke seem to be very immature. It's like they think this is somehow comparable to OpenOffice or some linux distro. You can't say stuff like that when you're maintaining a digital currency. I don't care if they're the best coders in the world, they are shit at economics and should have nothing to do with Bitcoin! Gmax is convinced. I don't know if he still feels this way, but: Without a sharp constraint on the maximum blocksize there is currently _no_ rational reason to believe that Bitcoin would be secure at all once the subsidy goes down.
Bitcoin is valuable because of scarcity. One of the important scarcities is the limited supply of coins, another is the limited supply of block-space https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140233.msg1492537#msg1492537He was an idiot then and he is an idiot now. I can't understand why Gavin left Bitcoin in the hands of these idiots. Maybe he really is a USG shill.

re Luke-JR and changing over to SHA3: The man seems to go out of his way to find causes to champion, the more hopeless, the better. I first remember paying attention to him when he was acticely pushing tonal notation for Bitcoin. At least that was relatively harmless, if eccentric.
changing over to SHA3 has been proven to be unnecessary for now. I guess it depends on what qualifies as necessary. A rivaling implementation forcing a hard fork? https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/41aocn/httpsbitcoinorgenbitcoincorecapacityincreases_why/cz0z9ym

I am fairly confident that at the very least, one of them is. Ok, I counted 2: Gmaxwell and Luke-Jr. Adam Back is an apparatchik. Wladimir is sort of like an Ent. Who's left?
