You get me wrong. I'm all for it. I can fire up my video cards again and make plenty of Coretel coins to sell all the way down to 0.

There probably won't be a hard fork to classic.
By April, core will have implemented 2MB+ blocks, by then the incentive to switch to classic will be low.

This whole development is worrisome though.
Core: RBF push, censoring on /r/bitcoin
Classic: no hardcore coders, what will really happen if they take over?....

For higher resilience, it would need several clients. One group of coders would be too easy to compromise.

So you're telling us Core is planning an increase to 2 MB blocks and Cconvert2G36 tells us Core devs have found  2 MB blocks bring a risk of an attack no-one knows how to defend against... One of you should check their sources!

Based on Cconvert2G36's previous posts, I think he was applying heaping doses of irony and his text should be taken with a large shovel of salt.

Adam,

Have you heard the news?

Cavirtex and  Coinsetter now part of Kraken
What do you think? Huge or so so?

Kraken Acquiring Coinsetter and Cavirtex to Bring Global Bitcoin Exchange to United States and Canada
Quote
Happy New Year! We are starting 2016 with some fireworks of our own – Coinsetter is being acquired by Kraken, a premier bitcoin exchange. Read the formal public announcement here:

http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20160119005459/en

This transition will bring huge upgrades to your account, offering domestic US deposit/withdrawal bank transfers, deeper order book liquidity, and improved margin trading.

What will happen to my account(s)?

On January 26, 2016, Coinsetter will temporarily halt trading and begin the safe migration of all accounts (and funds) to the Kraken platform. This process is expected to take just a few hours. Upon completion, you will be able to log in at www.kraken.com and immediately begin trading with any US dollar (USD) and bitcoin (XBT) funds that are in your Coinsetter account(s) at the time of migration. You will be able to deposit or withdraw bitcoin (XBT) immediately too. After a brief and seamless process to activate your account with SynapsePay, our trusted USD payment processor, you’ll be able to deposit and withdraw USD.

Why is this good for me?

This is outstanding news for Coinsetter clients. As a Kraken account holder, you will receive:
Free domestic USD wire deposits through SynapsePay until March 1 (when the promotion ends, the deposit fee will be $5 flat)
Domestic USD wire withdrawals will be $5 flat
Low trading fees (via a maker taker model with fees ranging from 0% to 0.26%; read more at https://www.kraken.com/help/fees)
Exchange options you have been demanding all along, such as advanced order types for setting profit targets or stops
Trade 18 currency pairs, including 5 fiat currencies (USD, EUR, CAD, GBP, JPY) and multiple digital currencies (Ether, Litecoin, etc.)
You’ll also get:
Superior trading interface
24/7, high touch support including live chat
Sophisticated API (documentation: https://www.kraken.com/help/api)
iOS app for trading on the go

are Core out of their fucking minds?

I used to give Core the benefit of the doubt and presume it was just an ideological difference, but I've seen them lately in the act of somewhere in between misrepresenting how the sigops attack would affect larger blocks, to flat out lying about it (hint:  the sigops attack is a non-issue because a hard fork is required to fix it and a block size increase is a hard fork).

Once we've gotten to the point of core devs either misrepresenting or lying about the facts on purpose, something is fishy.
