Don't forget minted NastyFans seats.  They're unique because they receive ongoing BTC payments.   Smiley

Update from BFL:

Quote from: BFL
Butterfly Labs is finally back to full control of operations! Watch for an email about your order very soon.

In case you are not aware, on September 18, 2014 the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requested an ex parte order for a temporary injunction against Butterfly Labs. On September 19, 2014 the United States District Court of the Western District of Missouri in Case No. 4:14-cv-00815-BCW approved the order and installed a Temporary Receiver to freeze assets, among other duties. This resulted in a complete, but temporary, shutdown of our operations.

On December 12, 2014, the Court rejected the FTC's arguments for a preliminary injunction against Butterfly Labs. On December 23rd the Court directed the orderly wind-down of the Temporary Receivership and handed control of the company and assets back to Butterfly Labs. Bank and bitcoin accounts are expected to be returned to us by December 31st.

During the shutdown, we were allowed to manufacture products but not test them. Now that we are in full control, we are resuming testing, shipping of Monarch cards, and activation of Cloud Mining contracts.

Please see the Status of Current Operations for more information

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time. We are committed to serving our customers as quickly as possible. Watch for an email about your order very soon.

my water heater just blew up, so I'm busy getting rid of the excess water and cleaning things up.

Sorry to hear that.

Starting next week NastyPoP payouts will start seeing a bonus from 250 NastyFans seats.

Donations to NastyPool Update:
I've decided to redirect distributions from the 250 seats I had going to NastyPool.  Instead of continuing to save funds for a future lottery, these distributions will now be donated to the NastyPoP address to provide additional BTC for NastyPoP miners.

I would love it if we could see our best participation ever for our first Live Year End NastyChat.  I would love to answer questions and hear community feedback on how this project could be improved.  I am thinking a good time would be January 5th @ 1:00pm PST, but am open to changing that in order to accommodate members who wish to attend.

I think a weekend date maybe bring higher attendance.

Anyone want to propose another date/time?

Our SP20 has arrived and it is up and mining for us.
16365  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Closing on: December 29, 2014, 07:45:28 PM

The next update is going to be when ASICMINER pays out a dividend or when Carnth provides nonnakip with a signed statement to transfer the seats.

Monarch Update:
We've had 2 more Monarchs die on us.  I've put in RMA requests with BFL.  I'm not sure why our Monarchs are suddenly dropping like flies, especially with the cooler temperatures.  Hopefully BFL starts honoring RMA requests soon...  Here are some pics I snapped of our failed Monarchs, including 1 that is on the way out (red background).

New Miners:
Some good news, our SP20 & S5 will be arriving next week.

Donations to NastyPool Update:
I've decided to redirect distributions from the 250 seats I had going to NastyPool.  Instead of continuing to save funds for a future lottery, these distributions will now be donated to the NastyPoP address to provide additional BTC for NastyPoP miners.

NastyMining Fan Operator Plan Upgrade:
In an effort to continue trying to decentralize our mining operation and keep community members involved in the spirit of NastyMining, I've decided to offer current operators an upgrade opportunity as their previous plan ends and they take possession of their equipment.  As an upgrade of sorts, current operators have the option of paying for shipping to have one of our Monarchs sent to them.  They will have to provide a PSU, and will be taking responsibility for keeping the units running for 1 year.  In exchange, they have the option of using a --balance option with their miner in order to split mined coins 50/50 between themselves/NastyMining.  They will be required to mine on NastyPool for both themselves and NastyMining.  I realize that this will have a negative effect on donations for NastyFans but feel it is in our best interests long term.

Moving Forward:
It has been a difficult year for sure that had disastrous effects on the valuation of NastyFans seats and led to a major shortcoming in mining expansion.  However, great progress was made on NastyPool and our 5oz coins.  There are also ambitious lottery plans and I'd still love to move into the automated escrow business.  While all of these things take time and community support, I think we will eventually get to where we need to be.  With the potential expansion of our Fan Operator Plan opening up capacity, it puts us in a great position to add more efficient equipment in the future.  We currently still owe 1.5 BTC for the 17 ASICMINER shares (awaiting transfer confirmation), which doesn't give us much in the way of funds to purchase equipment but I am hoping that sales from our 5oz coins will solve this problem in the near term for us, with alternate services helping fill the gap in the future.  I'm awaiting 11 more pre-orders for the 5oz coins, and have assurances from 2 people that orders will be placed soon.  That still leaves us with 9 pre-orders keeping us from having these coins ready for regular sale.  Please consider pre-ordering if you are able.

Live Year End NastyChat:
I would love it if we could see our best participation ever for our first Live Year End NastyChat.  I would love to answer questions and hear community feedback on how this project could be improved.  I am thinking a good time would be January 5th @ 1:00pm PST, but am open to changing that in order to accommodate members who wish to attend.

There's not going to be any ramping down and equalizing.

What new address are you using to mine?
16371  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NastyPoP vs Standard P2Pool on: December 26, 2014, 11:53:19 PM
1) A miner who chooses to use p2pool is either going to run his own node, or find one as close to his miners as possible from a latency perspective that is performing respectably (low GBT latency, decent efficiency, etc).  If the miner decides to go with NastyPoP, he must accept the added latency as a byproduct of that choice, since he can't build or run his own version of NastyPoP locally or choose to mine on a closer node on which it is installed.

Just because it is high latency where YOU are, does not mean it is that way for everyone.  Hence your flawed results which cannot be attributed to luck.  If you believe that, then I would suggest that you aren't very good at math.

Your pool is very close to my facility.
 time=10.2 ms
 time=10.1 ms
 time=10.3 ms
 time=10.1 ms

2) I built and own the node on which my miner is pointed and know it is in fact a standard p2pool node with no modifications other than justino's front end and is running the latest version of bitcoind compiled and built on the server.  I don't have control over your node, and I don't know what if any modifications and tuning parameters you've made to your own.

NastyPool is a default P2Pool node.

However, since you seem to feel that my test is in some way invalid because I'm not mining on your node, I will gladly rectify this situation.  As of 1900 UTC this coming Friday, I will point one of my S3s to your standard p2pool node, and keep my current miner on the NastyPoP version.

Cool.  Thank you for deciding to run this test fairly to get legitimate data about NastyPoP vs Standard P2Pool payouts.  I look forward to seeing your numbers show a slight advantage to Standard P2Pool next week as your hashrate ramps down to where both miners are equal, followed by nearly identical numbers the following week.  Perhaps once that happens, you will stop your ludicrous luck argument and restore some legitimacy to these numbers.  Maybe you'll even go as far as removing the inaccurate data.

What I have shown thus far in the test is that luck has everything to do with mining and a miner on a standard p2pool node will experience the variance of that luck far more than would a miner who chooses NastyPoP.

You aren't seeing higher earnings due to luck with Standard P2Pool.  Your hashrate isn't low enough to see the extreme variance reduction benefits of NastyPoP.  For the test you think you're doing, you'd see much better results mining with 1GH/s.  Wink
16372  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: December 26, 2014, 05:16:33 PM
Update today:
Picked up in Shenzhen
At Fedex location Guangzhou
Weight 59 lbs, 27 kg

Some movement. Yesterday I got an email to confirm my shipment details, which I did.
Today I got an email with invoice and t&t.
The Fedex t&t is correct, current status is "shipment label created".

When did you order?  How much money do you think you will lose on a monthly basis operating this now obsolete equipment?
16373  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: December 25, 2014, 10:23:50 PM
I ordered mine direct from Black Arrow 14 months ago and haven't gotten anything from them. If you send them anything, it will be a total loss.

Can we pick the tshirt size btw, or are they all one size?

Yes, you get to pick from the available shirt sizes while supplies last. We currently have S/M/L/XL/XXL available, but a majority of them are L/XL.

In an effort to make sure that NastyMining is utilizing the latest in mining technology, I've purchased an S5 from CrazyGuy's personal batch 1 order.  This will be our first Bitmain purchase and at 1.4 BTC, I think we got a good deal considering it is a single order and batch 1 is now sold out.

Heck of a deal folks! If the 5oz coins are just as fine and detailed as the 1oz coins, these are going to look 5x awesome-er!

The proof finish is definitely going to make the 5oz coins stand out as something special.  Smiley
