1641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Odds of finding a fellow bitcoiner. on: July 29, 2016, 03:27:49 PM
Haven't bumped into one so far, have successfully introduced 1 active person to bitcoin, I think the chances are pretty slim unless you hang around a bitcoin cash machine Smiley
1642  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase Added Ethereum? on: July 29, 2016, 02:13:39 PM
I would say they added ETH for the volume to get their fees, I was thinking yesterday how they feel about ETC and if they would also add it alongside ETH but I doubt this will happen, unless ETH really does fail.
1643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Carry empty paper bitcoin wallets with you on: July 29, 2016, 11:52:15 AM
Well done to you, that's a pretty cool idea and everybody likes something physical as oppose to showing somebody something virtually which always ends being more complicated than it actually is.
1644  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: bitcoin hyip are they a gamble? on: July 29, 2016, 09:22:53 AM
These sites are extremely risky, especially for those new to bitcoin as they will see the profit and might think that it is legit.
If you do make your bitcoin back and then everything else is profit then you are one of the lucky ones, the majority of people will lose on these sites as you just cannot predict when they will stop operating.
1645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, for how long can ETH survive this mess? on: July 28, 2016, 04:44:03 PM
I expected ETH to have suffered a lot more than what it has so far, I suppose there is a lot of people with a lot of money in ETH for it to just disappear.
1646  Other / Meta / Re: posts per day on: July 28, 2016, 01:51:53 PM
There is no limit.
I saw someone post 200 posts in one day but he was since warned about that and I think he was banned for a while to cool off.
200 posts in a day, he must have slept the whole way through the ban  Grin
1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin worst decision you will ever make? on: July 28, 2016, 01:49:30 PM
One of the worst decisions would be buying an alt, watching the price shoot up and then still holding the coin when it plummeted, it can happen so quickly.

Best decision was taking up bitcoin in the first place.
1648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to spend bitcoins on a site that takes PayPal? on: July 28, 2016, 01:42:02 PM
Your easiest way would probably be to use a debit card and load it with bitcoin, there will be fees associated to this though.

If you search the forum for bitcoin debit cards you will find the various different ones, some will ask you to purchase the card but there were a few that were offering free cards and I think Cryptopay was doing this a few weeks not sure if they still are though.
1649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-07-24] huffpost.com] “Ethereum Classic,” Another Bitcoin Scam on: July 28, 2016, 11:39:52 AM
Ethereum Classic is, in my view, a total and absolute scam by any traditional financial definition of the word “scam.”

That's funny, because ethereum classic is exactly the code and the chain that has been running since before the fork.  The only thing that was new was the modified code that goes now under the ETH name, but is in fact a modification of the original.

Suppose that tomorrow, Satoshi makes himself known, and comes out with a modified version of bitcoin core.  Is the original chain from that point onward then a scam ?  Are people not updating to his new version scammers ?

I like this post.
Nothing ever goes smoothly in this world and just when people thought ETH was on it's way to catching bitcoin the DAO happened and now we have something to grab the popcorn for and sit back and see which one comes out the winner, I am leaning towards ETC.
1650  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best trading places on: July 28, 2016, 11:27:07 AM
For altcoins, if that's what you are looking into I prefer Bittrex which is the middle of the road exchange and I have never had an issue with them for years.

It seems the route for many altcoins is Yobit, then onto Bittrex or C-Cex and then onto Poloniex so if you are there at the right time you can pick up some coins for dirt cheap on Yobit and then ride the wave onto the other exchanges.

This is easier said than done.

1651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to buy STAR Coin ? on: July 27, 2016, 07:34:17 PM
I think the op is referring to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1507571.0
currently trading on Yobit with no buy orders and their ANN thread is virtually empty with no roadmap, perhaps this guy knows something nobody else does but to me it's a desperate attempt to get some attention for this coin.
1652  Economy / Exchanges / Re: First Exprience With Bittrex.com on: July 27, 2016, 11:40:28 AM
Hello everyone, as I am totally new to the bitcoin world, I signed up for btc wallet on bittrex, and started to work a little bit on epay faucet rotator and on tuesday it was the day for minimum threshold automatic payout day so I waited for them to pay me, after sometime I can see my bittrex wallet got some transaction but it is in pending deposit state, few hours has past by but it is still in pending deposit state. Can anyone share their experience? And when will the transaction will be completed 100% ? Smiley

Welcome, don't worry too much about not getting the bitcoin as it is in a pending state so it will arrive, it could take minutes or a few hours depending on the transaction fee that the faucet paid which is more than likely very small so it will take longer.

Online wallets should be okay for you as you are just starting out and using faucets as they pay out a small amount, if you do decide to stick around and have a larger amount of bitcoin then there are other options you could consider to store your bitcoin, when that time comes just have a search on the forum and you will find further information.

Bittrex is a pretty cool exchange, I have used them for a few years and have never had any problems with them.

1653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-07-26] coindesk.com] Ethereum Creator Vitalik Buterin Addresses 'Classic' on: July 27, 2016, 07:19:26 AM
ETC was up over 300% yesterday and the hash was up to 1TH I believe, it certainly caught a few eyes from those that dismissed it so this will be one to watch, myself personally I think the whole fork was a bad idea for ETH and it's reputation, it would have been better if they learned from it and continued forward.
1654  Economy / Goods / Re: house on: July 26, 2016, 04:19:40 PM
This is one very confusing offering, definitely see if someone can help with the translation otherwise nobody will be able to understand what you are offering.
1655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin ATMs worth using? on: July 26, 2016, 07:29:49 AM
I have used an ATM a while ago and the fee was at 10% which is not the greatest, it is extremely quick and easy though, well the one I used was, I was in and out of the shop within minutes which surprised me as I thought it would be a lengthy process.

Circle, Coinbase, Localbitcoins or bitylicious would probably be better options, but if you do have an ATM in your area it would be worth just getting a small bit just to have done it Smiley
1656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoin will be used widely? on: July 25, 2016, 04:16:59 PM
The obvious one ETH / ETC or whatever it's going by these days, it's hard to see for sure what other ones could do well, WBB I feel is under the radar right now with some potential, RBR also but it is a risk to be buying into right now.
1657  Economy / Gambling / Re: is freebitco.in or freedogeco.in worth my time? on: July 25, 2016, 11:20:22 AM
I used to use them but then stopped as it became too time consuming and faucets are just too small to make anything from, if you are lucky you might hit one of the higher rewards, I am yet to see any mention of anybody ever hitting the top reward and they have been going for a few years.

If you have the time it isn't the worst faucet out there.
1658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next breakout in bitcoins price when will it be? on: July 25, 2016, 11:06:06 AM
Towards Christmas would be my guess, that's a good few months after the halving and hopefully something big will happen to take bitcoin further into being adopted by more people, as long as it is steady it will look like a legit investment and should bring more serious investors along.
1659  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Help us with our website and earn $10 spending 5 minutes on: July 25, 2016, 10:58:31 AM
Is there anything really free in this world? would like to see if somebody actually gets their $10 in 7+ days time.
1660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin Dead??? on: July 22, 2016, 03:20:37 PM
DOGE is one of those coins that will be around forever Smiley on occasion it gets pumped and then falls back down to this sort of level, no doubt it will increase up to 45 - 50 at some point, nice time to buy right now.
