Help pls i tried to install the driver everything went fine but when i restart it my screen goes black I have a windows 7 and i used the ddu also the patcher
All win 7 user has this issue?? It's not the Windows 7 driver. The problem is they are using the 'Windows 7 6 GPU mod' hack that hasen't been updated for over a year, then they wonder why they have problems. LOL

Elder III,
Thank you so much for your guidance here. Vann, I also appreciate your input!
My first step was to try windows 10 since I would have had to reinstall windows 7 to make it UEFI, so instead of reinstalling I just upgraded first to see if that would work.
IT WORKED!! All 6 cards came up and with the 16.9.1 driver all went well!
Kinda....
Now, as I start my miner (Claymore zCash miner) my memory gets to 100% and crashes the rig. Even with absolutely nothing running on windows startup my memory is at 37% usage...just from the startup services! So yeah, as soon as I start my miner it blue screens the rig because the memory maxes out. I'm using a stick of 4 GB RAM, everywhere I read while purchasing said that would be enough for 6 cards. I can but an 8 GB stick if need be, but I feel like this may be a windows 10 thing that "using" more memory than it should.
Any guidance there would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you, Darcendsun
This is a friend of Darcendsun, for some reason, bitcointalk is not letting him post so I am posting this for him!
4GB Ram is fine. You need to set Virtual Memory to at least 16GB. Follow this guide to change the other settings as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Zsv-3QDzJQ

Does msi afterburner works with this driver? Afterburner 440beta12 did not work, but it has not worked before and took a bit of tweaking to get it work. It's getting late - or should I say early - and dont have the energy right now to mess with it more, will play around with it a bit later on. You have to use Afterburner beta 16 with the new drivers. http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5459908&postcount=637

Does this driver check bios sig? Yes. You need to use the pixel patcher with RX 4XX and 57X cards with a modded Bios. With RX 580's typically you don't need to bypass the signature check.

Those articles are just click bait from people that don't know what they are talking about. Anybody that been around new card or mining algorithm releases knows it's WAY to early to make a judgment on Vega. Just like ANY new card, there are no tweaked Bios settings or miners currently. Even with the limited support ATM, some have been able to reach 42 MH/s. I think we will see 50 MH/s+ pretty soon once people that know what they are doing can figure it out. For an RX 580, I vote for the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8GB. Best card I've had. STABLE with 2250 MH/s memory clock and ZERO HW errors. MSI Gaming X+ are also very good cards, the same cards Angry Chicken used in his 11 GPU ETH rig. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPGxVUaSdvc

dipping to 22 from 30Mh/s isn't normal.
Benchmarks are synthetic figures, variations are normal when running the same test. The stable hash was the same in all the tests and the real mining hash from the current ETH epoch 138 to the UBIQ epoch 6 was also the same. ETH UBIQ

5 card ETH rig went from ~139 MH/s ====> ~146 MH/s 5 card UBIQ rig stayed the same at ~145 MH/s, so the drivers do work to fix the epoch hash issue! I used DDU to uninstall the drivers in safe mode and had to apply the pixel patcher to bypass the signature check. Also needed to use AB Beta 16 to be able to set the undervolt and clocks. try -benchmark 140 or -benchmark 150 on your clymore miner and tell us the results please I ran the benchmarks from epoch 150, 180 and 199 (the highest Claymore will let you benchmark). Stable hash rate was virtually identical except for some fluctuations which is normal. Epoch 150: Epoch 180 Epoch 199

Does modded bios work out of the box for this driver?
You need to use the pixel patcher to bypass the signature check. Otherwise you will get the Code 43 error in Device Manager.

drivers fucked my install up (did not do a full refresh, doing it now) 5x RX 480 8GB
I suggest wiping drivers completely before installing.
You should always do a clean removal in safe mode using DDU before installing new drivers.

These show up as driver version 22.19.659.0 in Device properties.

Oh dang- lol I'm reading reviews after placing my pre-order.
Now I'm unsure if I should cancel my order or wait it out. After all it has huge computing power but so much power consumption.
Here in CAD- the website sold out the cards within 15 mins and every single variant lol
Price was $633 CAD and sold it for 849$ -Even I paid that much but I got the limited edition with two games lol
I had 1080ti on ordered which I cancelled when I realized AMD Vega was out today-
Hopefully I'll be able to see more concrete numbers before my card is actually processed and enroute.
Didn't someone post that Vega as better instruction set which would allow better compute performance?
If it's such a horrible card-how the heck did it get sold out in 15 mins?
I didn't get Vega but I would hold off on canceling until we get reviews from dedicated mining channels that know what they are doing like Cryptomined or BBT over the next couple of days. Even PC Gamer was able to get it to 40 MH/s right out of the box with just a memory overclock. Once bios and miner tweaks are avalaible it should get over 50 MH/s.
|
|
|
With a simple Bios mod and 1150 MHz core 2100 MHz memory overclock you should get ~28 MH/s on ETH. That said I would not get the mining edition cards. They are no better than the standard gaming cards at mining. They just have a shorter warranty (180 days) and limited resale value.

The Dag file for all Ethash coins starts at 1GB, so it's not possible to mine any with a 1GB card. I think the only the only Ethash coins you can mine with 2GB cards currently are Musiccoin and Ubiq. To mine ETH and ETC you need at least a 3GB card.
