I really should pass that Merchant article on to some people.
1644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The #BuyWithBitcoin Contest - Signed Street Fighter Comic, 2nd prize is POGS on: July 08, 2011, 02:12:26 PM
I'm surprised this isn't getting more action, which isn't to say the current entries aren't really well done.  This is a really good contest idea.

lol, I agree, I'd be all over this, and I might count my own entries :p     I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this, but hopefully the good creative folks at reddit will want to join in http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/ik0w9/a_contest_purely_to_promote_bitcoin_win_signed/ Smiley

I have been taunted by that squiggly red line correcting my spelling in my browser long enough.  Am I the only one who has let this slide this long?
1646  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Sell me something! on: July 08, 2011, 12:48:31 PM
I have porn too! lol   That just isn't for sale Wink

A beautiful working Dreamcast with two of those memory card Gameboy things and one controller.  This has not been modded and I think needs to be in order to play the burnt games to cd and imports.    Darker picture taken on purpose to make it seem sexier, as though the Dreamcast needs that.
1647  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Sell me something! on: July 08, 2011, 12:37:16 PM
I have some comic books.  Been thinking about seeing if anyone in the community would be into such things?

Also I have some used games too.

" I will personally hi-five you if I see you, because MTG is probably the best game ever made (except for Battlestar Galactica the board game) "   and of course chess, the original strategy game that got owned when Magic came out :p

Updated original post.   Just Tweeted @janibrajkovic, whoever that is lol
1651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin banner ad concepts on: July 08, 2011, 11:45:41 AM
Uh, very "interesting", what about adding another banner that reads "Purchase drugs with bitcoins! Or sell them for bitcoins and get rich!" coughsarcasmcough

I have to run to the store, when I get back, I want to see some new banner ads that are promoting the ills of society and attributing it to Bitcoin please.   I'll try and work on the Bitcoin for Homelessness campaign.
1652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bump when you're guilty on: July 08, 2011, 11:43:40 AM
Just moved like .208 or some odd number a couple of days ago.  I hate the fucked up numbers, and I accidentally sent something to the wrong place and now I've given up trying to fix at the moment lol.   Gox and even Tradehill could use some visual changes to the site to make things clearer, but I guess it's nice that there is tons of user error going on and Gox isn't the only one messing up his numbers :p
1653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btcENco.de - Shortener and more on: July 08, 2011, 11:39:05 AM
Well done, clean and functional Bitcoin site, you do not see too many of thoughts right when they are announced, good stuff, hopefully people will use Smiley
1654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin banner ad concepts on: July 08, 2011, 11:37:05 AM
I wonder who could be posting such ideals to promote Bitcoin

1656  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Mt.Gox: now yubikey enabled on: July 08, 2011, 11:32:20 AM
Quote
The yubikey is a small USB dongle from Yubico which generates one-time passwords (OTPs) and pretends to be a USB keyboard in order to enter the OTP into the keyboard datastream. I found out about them by chance - I can't remember how - and decided to buy one for experimentation. A major feature is that, having neither a real-time clock nor a display and thus needing no batteries either, they're really rather cheap. Including postage, mine cost less than £20, and you definitely won't get a SecurID dongle for that. Also, all the yubikey back-end software is generally available under GPL or other free licences; the security is your responsibility, not someone else's.

I say "more-secure" not "secure" in the title because it looks as if it'll still be single-factor authentication, as right now not all methods of validating the yubikey OTP support the use of a personal PIN as well. But yubikey authentication is still much better than straight username-password as the dongle is not easily copied, and the OTP data is, well, only usable once.

Not that this is a major issue, but I must confess that another attraction of the yubikey is that, it being lightweight and thin, I can wear it around my neck like a sort of digital dog-tag. Geek marine! Semper pinguis!

In case I wasn't the only one not fully familiar with this type of  product.
1657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am putting Bitcoin.us domain name up for auction. on: July 08, 2011, 11:23:02 AM
.com's still have type in value (although less than before)  ... anything other than that and your throwing money at something you can't brand...  "hi we're bitcoin.info!  come over and see our killer website"

get a domain name that you can brand.
Bam.  The future will be this.  Keywords and domains will be pulling less and less rank. Google know they have been gamed so have been adjusting the algorithms which I think will filter all the link banks and bs.   Just everyone focus on making the best sites possible Smiley
1658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Al jazeera English showing Bitcoin piece in regular news rotation on: July 08, 2011, 12:26:55 AM
Quicktime? Can someone throw it up in a useable format?

Try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgPSfnlfct4 in a minute.

Edit: Cool little in between new piece, offers little opinion, shows a lot about Bitcoin, very nice.

You are one of the most helpful Newbies I have ever seen.
1660  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am killing this persona. on: July 07, 2011, 09:16:20 PM
Mmmh. You assume you'll be able disguise your
age with a new persona ... to achieve this, you're
going to have to work on form depth  and substance,
I think.
Do you mean the depth and substance that you will be showing us znortlas!
