16401  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NastyPoP vs Standard P2Pool on: December 19, 2014, 11:55:10 PM
NastyPoP pays out identical to what you will get on P2Pool over time, right down to the P2Pool luck.  What is being measured here is the benefit to mining on a closer node with lower latency and what it would look like if your miner regularly performed at above it's hashrate only on the Standard P2Pool.  Extremely misleading test/title.  You'd think someone who puts effort into testing something like this wouldn't do so in such a way that drastically alters the results.
16402  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: might get my hands on Hydro power. help me build a case to get it? on: December 19, 2014, 09:23:01 PM
Perhaps it is a lot of work to keep it running or maybe it would disturb some nearby tenants.  Maybe it is a hazard of some sort or he is afraid if you try to fix it that you will cause further damage or discover other major problems.
16403  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: a 10% drop in hashes? on: December 19, 2014, 08:43:12 PM
i reckon there'll be a 10% drop in hashrate this turn in.

Care to make it interesting?
16404  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [12 Pre-Orders Left] 5oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: December 19, 2014, 08:40:26 PM
Come on folks!  Lets bring these 5oz coins to light.

Any chance to limit this to only 10 minted?  The market is slow these days, and it may be a while before you get 12 more orders.

I'll commit to one, if you can keep the price the same, but only mint 10 coins.  I dont need the 5 seats or t shirt if it helps defray any added costs of having fewer coins made.

The coins come with the 5 seats attached to them, that is how they receive payments.  There is no way to buy a coin without the 5 seats.  The t-shirts were fairly cheap to produce and are a free gift for ordering, there is no additional cost attached.

There will be 100 coins minted, I am just limiting the pre-sale to 20 coins.  The other 80 will be sold at the same price, only without the free extras (1oz coin, shirt, seats).

I have 3 members who have told me they are waiting for us to get closer to the 20 mark before ordering, I imagine there are others as well, so I don't want to limit the pre-orders any further.

I just received an email from Butterflylabs about 2 of our RMA requests.  That gives me hope that we may actually be able to get our miners fixed and previous debtholders might finally get their payouts.  This would be a huge step towards mending the past and looking to the future in my opinion.

Cool.

What did the email from BFL say?

It said:

Your 28nm RMA has been approved. If your product was shipped to you within 30 days of your RMA request, a customer service representative will contact you by email within two business days to provide you with a return shipping label at no cost to you. Please do not proceed with shipment of your RMA until your RMA has been updated with further instructions.
16406  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Closing on: December 19, 2014, 08:07:51 PM
We're nearly done!

Thanks for keep us in the loop.

nonnakip has requested a signed statement for the NastyFans seats transfer from Carnth.  As soon as that is done, I will be able to make the first payment.  Carnth has already provided a signed statement to friedcat for the ASICMINER shares, so I guess we wait for the next ASICMINER dividend in order to complete this transaction.
16407  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] AM Prisma on: December 19, 2014, 08:03:55 PM
If anyone's looking to get rid of one of these fire hazards and doesn't want to deal with AM, I'm looking to buy an AM Prisma preferably through PP. Must be working and have some kind of controller.
$450 shipped to Canada.

Try sending a message to OgNasty, I know he is thinking of selling his. Good luck on not burning your place down with it!

I am considering selling mine.  I've got it all working, I have 2 of the uart controllers and 1 of the big bulky controllers (I use the simple USB ones).  Let me know.  It shows no signs of catching fire and has been stable since I got it all working properly.  Smiley

16409  Other / Meta / Re: Spondoolies Spam on: December 19, 2014, 06:02:01 PM
There is only one way to fight this sort of spam... Other manufacturers need to also give away free mining equipment to Legendary members for reviews. That's the only way it will be fair.  Tongue

Cassius from Bitscan.com contacted me and nonnakip in order to write a follow-up piece on all things Nasty.  Many thanks to Cassius and Bitscan.com for the coverage.

I'd love to work out some sort of a trade for it if you're interested in other objects (Casascius coins, NastyFans Minted Seats?).  PM me with some possibilities.
16413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't you feel like Bill Gates in 1995 when talking about Bitcoin ? on: December 18, 2014, 07:43:28 PM
I'm actually surprised at the reactions to making fun of computers in 1995.  I was a pretty heavy internet user back in 1991.  By 1995, I was already using it for a majority of my entertainment and communicating with friends.

I guess one day I look forward to saying that I was surprised by people's reactions to Bitcoin in 2015.  I was a heavy Bitcoin user back in 2011.  By 2015, I was already using it for a majority of my purchases.
16414  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: December 18, 2014, 07:11:58 PM
I have the Prisma up and running on NastyPool with all 4 functioning boards.  It is using the name Prisma-PoP if anyone wanted to see how these Prisma's perform on P2Pool.  I'm a bit underwhelmed so far, but will give it time to normalize.  No word on an end date for the Prisma return policy yet.  I will keep my eye out for that, but figured we should try to recover some losses before sending it back if possible.
16415  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Closed] Legendaries review party of Spondoolies-Tech's SP20 on: December 18, 2014, 06:50:18 PM
Mine got delayed in shipping. I will review it as soon as I can get my hands on it.

EDIT:  Called FedEx to see why my package is still in Israel.  They said there is a "customs strike" that is holding up packages.   It may be a while before I get my hands on the SP20.   Cry

Looks like the strike has ended!  Hoping to get my SP20 on Saturday.

EDIT:  I guess the strike may not be over, but they re-routed my SP20 through Germany.  Hopefully I get it early next week.

EDIT:  Now it's in France!  I may end up with the most traveled SP20 ever!

12/19/14 EDIT:  It has hit the US!  Sitting in Tennessee waiting to be shipped across the States to it's new home.

Will the BE300 boards fit into the Prisma fan/heatsink body?

I've been spending a lot (too many hours) of my time trying to keep our mining operation functional.  It appears today I lost the battle with another Monarch.  The radiator has started leaking, which is pretty much the end.  I'm going to play around with it to see if I can seal it myself and get it functioning again.  If I can't, the best bet may be to wait for BFL to start accepting RMAs again.  On that subject, lightfoot has received our Monarchs for repair and has already gotten one of them functioning (it had a "destroyed" radiator).

I received the replacement Prisma boards from ASICMINER.  1 of the 3 replacements was bad, but I have found someone locally who is returning their good boards for a refund and we are meeting later to make a bad/good swap.  I am fairly confident that I will be able to get it working once I have confirmed good boards.  That brings us to the question, do we want to keep the Prisma if it is working, or do we want to send it back and get our refund?  We'll end up losing about 0.2 BTC if we return it, but may never mine enough to make it worth keeping so I'm open to opinions on the subject.  I will update on this when I get it operating correctly.  Perhaps at that time a poll will be in order, as there is no end date on returning the Prisma yet.

The Nasty T-Shirts arrived yesterday and they're awesome.  They came out better than I had hoped and are probably the most high quality T-Shirt I have in my closet.  I lowered the price to the absolute lowest I can ship them without losing money, so grab one today and help support the cause!

We still have 12 pre-orders for the 5oz coins remaining.  I have 3 people who say they're waiting to order until we get closer to having 20, so if you're on the fence, jump in and lets get this project going!
