Mintpal is not the only exchanger.

Obviously. Polo, HitBtc, bittrex... XMR has a lot of good places to be traded.

And I think that the 0.002 price was somebody's mistake. Somebody that will check his trades later and will cry.
16442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMG] Coin Magi swap discussion thread on: October 15, 2014, 09:49:25 AM
I don't have old magi coins, so I will not tell how to do the swap. But as somebody with new XMG and as somebody that wants a bright future for this, I'd say to hurry a little bit more with this swapping.

I think that this swap "issue" gives some uncertainty on the value of XMG and may prevent investors to join in.
That an the lack of big/known exchanges.

www.mintpal.com:

"MintPal is currently down for urgent bug fixes, and is additionally moving to new management (away from Moopay LTD). A statement will follow shortly."

That's because of Moolah' bankrupcy. http://blog.moolah.io/2014/10/14/moolah-is-having-to-close-its-doors/

You should improve the way to get to the next ticket, if you really want to get some pennies from it and increase the prizes.
It took me 10 seconds to figure out how to get new ticket without going through the annoying AdFly Wink

However, it's an interesting concept Smiley

well..the problem is we have to monetize somehow to get cash for prizes

if traffic will grow more revenue will enable higher prizes... game is still young

I nderstand that. My point was that you'll have to find a way to make it much harder to avoid AdFly.

16447  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: graphic problem on: October 14, 2014, 04:07:03 PM
When I started mining BTC I used GUIMiner. (There are other miners too, I found more info here: http://thebitcoinmine.com/windowsguides/windowsnvidia.html Maybe you spend more time and find better threads on bitcointalk.org - with the ones that make the mining program and can help with what's wrong.)

In GUIMiner window, if you cannot select your graphics card, that usually means that you don't have the required drivers.

You may find out that GPU-mining BTC is quite difficult. If you want to mine altcoins instead, you will find here good software and people that know all about NVidia cards: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0
16448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CryptoNote Windows CPU Miner v3.4 on: October 14, 2014, 02:18:54 PM
I gave a try to the new version and, on i7 920 it's still slower than my super-old cpuminer-multi 1.0.3.

Is that normal? Am I missing anything? If I would get (for myself) at least the same hash rate as the old miner, I would use yours, at least for the failsafe options...
16449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.8 Required Update on: October 14, 2014, 01:32:27 PM
It was 5gb last time when I updated my wallet. Time to update and move some coins Wink

I'd suggest to use MultiDoge. Then you will not care what's the size of blockchain.

Monero Monday Missives

October 13th, 2014

1. The database effort is ongoing, and is currently playing a little bit of catch-up back-porting features and fixes we added to the current codebase.

4. We are happy to announce that per-kb fees is going to be deployed to testnet over the next couple of days. Barring any major complications, we expect positive testing results, and are hopeful that mainnet can move over to per-kb fees within the next two weeks.

Great news, I really wanted to hear about these points! Many thanks!
16451  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Win free Bitcoins playing the 2048 Game on bitcoin2048.com on: October 14, 2014, 11:21:23 AM
I am not sure how it is supposed to work. I reached 2048, I continued and the "earnings" didn't change - I was expecting to get the bonus for reaching 2048.
Conclusion, I am at a whopping 8 satoshi.

Browser: Chrome.

Another thing to fix at some point: the usability on mobile. I'd play on my phone, but the browser cannot decide between scrolling and playing and sometimes does either both, either none Smiley

Good luck! I really want to see you out of beta.
16452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which alt coins will you hold until 2015 on: October 14, 2014, 10:33:02 AM
DOGE, XMR, maybe FIBRE, maybe XMG too.

If this thread will become big enough you may end up with with pretty much all coins alive Smiley
16453  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: If you get paid in Bitcoin do you have to pay taxes? on: October 13, 2014, 08:09:16 PM
If you are paid in apples, would you have to pay taxes? Depends. If the one that's paying you has his own apple trees, it can go silent.

One of the main reasons the governments don't like crypto is because they cannot control it. Giving them more reasons to hate it is not a great idea imho, so I'd pay the taxes. Not nice, but yeah.. the chances they find out and catch you are not that small. Bitcoin is not that anonymous. There are ways to trace that income. And if you want to convert to fiat at some point, ... they will try to trace that.
16454  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Bitcoin price by end of 2014? on: October 13, 2014, 08:01:33 PM
Unless the USD goes down quick and badly, I don't see any reason for the current trend to continue change, with small variations.
So I'd expect something between 250$ and 350$.

Edit: bad wording / logic.
16455  Other / Meta / Re: Why is it so hard to get people's trust? on: October 13, 2014, 05:17:13 PM
My guess would be that the scams showing up day after day made the people more careful. Much more careful.
16456  Other / Off-topic / Re: give me a good movie on: October 13, 2014, 03:53:50 PM
It's a quite old movie, but if you didn't see it, you have to: Payback/1999/Mel Gibson. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120784
I'd say it's action/comedy.
16457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to this-NEED OPINIONS on: October 13, 2014, 12:57:29 PM
Imho it's a bad idea overall.
The distrust in new coins is on the rise. Especially if it's just a simple clone and even more if it's premined.
There are far too many coins, most of them not giving anything, really.

My suggestion would be to approach the devs of a couple already existing coins and make a deal. May be of a great help for both of you.
16458  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Here :) on: October 13, 2014, 12:51:03 PM
The best deal seems to be indeed signature campaign, but if you really want to worth it you'll need to advance to at least full member imho.

People said it's waste of time, but I still use faucets too, but actually only 2 of them. I will post the link with referrer, but if you don't like that, you are free to remove what's after ? in the link.

They are: http://freebitco.in/?r=779433 and http://moonbit.co.in/?ref=06430ee02ff0

Maybe bitcoin will get much higher and we also get a tiny bit of the wealth Smiley good luck!
16459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.8 Required Update on: October 13, 2014, 12:44:48 PM
1.8  win64 dogecion ,Unable to update
Please help me, thank you!

First of all, you will have to give some more info than "unable to update" if you want somebody to help you.
Second, I suggest you also seek for help in the dogecoin reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin) because afaik the most dogecoin activity is actually there.
16460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tor+Blockchain wallet hacked? 633 btc loss on: October 13, 2014, 11:10:18 AM
Big amount... hmm.. is this indeed legit? It sounds to me as too much money in one basket...

The questions that come into my mind are:

- Why does he keep such big amount all in one wallet? I see no good reason for that, really, unless it's a tiny fraction of the money you have (which I quite doubt).
- He knew that's quite some value there. Then why not using the official - much more secure - wallet?

Obviously I don't need answers. But as you said.. maybe others read and learn...
