16581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hacking KNC Neptune / Jupiter / Titan miners back to life. Why not? on: January 03, 2016, 01:46:14 AM
Try reflowing the chips. The problem is the chip overheated underneath and melted the solder so that the fpga can't communicate with the chip's hashing engines. Question: Is there any burned marks on the bottom of the circuit board?

You sure this is a problem with the ASIC chip and not the VRMS?
2 of them seem dead because I put my finger on them and they are cold, the other 2 are lightning hot.
16582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hacking KNC Neptune / Jupiter / Titan miners back to life. Why not? on: January 02, 2016, 11:33:44 PM
I got a few of these old Jupiters with dead dies or dead VRMS and they only run at 50% or 75% capacity like so.

Anyway to fix this?

Someone just turned the tap back on... In the last 3 Hours we have gone from a running rate of -6% to -3%.

Rich

Today will end up as flat for the day at negative or 0%. Don't know about tomorrow or for the rest of the period however.
16584  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Feeler/WTS][CANADA or Local]2 Antminer S4, 3 AMTube, Server PSU on: January 02, 2016, 08:49:08 AM
I know this isn't related to your post but did you try undervolting the S4 for better efficiency ?
16585  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Antminer S7 B1-5 or 7 ideally in Canada on: January 02, 2016, 08:47:48 AM
You really are better off buying brand new directly from Bitmain. You will at least get 90 days warranty.
16586  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] KNC Titan 325 MH/s on: January 02, 2016, 08:44:47 AM
So since this only makes $300 a month and not $600 you should sell for $1500 and not $3000
16587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: January 02, 2016, 08:25:37 AM
You can't totally have a no-risk game. Risk is what gambling is. It's what makes it fun. If it didn't have a risk factor, then it would just be giving away money. And no risk is no fun. People would only do it if they were greedy.

There are many ways to stay safe, though. If you have a huge bankroll, you can try a martingale strategy. Or if you want, follow your instinct. For instance if it's a dice site on 50%, and the previous 5 have been "LO"s, then bet a "HI".

Martingale is the safest way to lose your pot imho. Either way you turn it around, in the end you are bound to hit a loosing streak, and due to the nature of martingale,
you will once start losing until you go bust. Every new roll at 50% is nothing more than 50% chance, and all statistics of previous rolls is just a distraction, don't fool yourself.
The only example where i would use martingale would be in sports betting. Choose a team and from season start betting that they will win/lose, there's 99.9 chance you will win ?!

Yes I've replied on this thread and probably on a few others. That the best way is to do reverse martingale.

For example, bet 100 Sats and on every win, double your bet, when you win 20 times in a row, you get like 1-2 BTC.
16588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: January 02, 2016, 08:24:34 AM
It's addictive probably because of the thought that you can make easy money. When you lose, you think you can chase your losses, and be back in the green again, though it never happens (pretty much). It's also based on greed.

Human greed has been around from time immemorial.
I am sure there are references to gambling in the holy books of all religions.

i only know one bible verse that refers to gambling which is 1 Timothy 10:16 that says "the love of money is the root of all evil" something  like that (can't remember the complete verse). pretty sure there are more verses in the bible about gambling. i don't know any on other holy books.
Coz being greedy is human beings' nature! We always want more never admit loss! Unless you have strong discipline to yourself, and find a good way to kill your spare time to get rid of gambling mindset.

Yes that is completely true. Greed like Jealously is a very powerful emotion and if you let it get to the best of you there can be big concequences. Especially when it involves money.
16589  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 31 to Jan 12 Diff thread picks closed. on: January 02, 2016, 02:49:34 AM
Looks like today will end as a negative day also. Finally 2 negative days in a row. Maybe we will get a break next difficiulty adjustment and end up flat.

It could go back to under 5%    .  I pretty much have been saying this was bitfury's 180 to 225 ph farm the last two jumps.

If I am right we should be okay until others put in a monster farm.

The s-7 and avalon 6 sales  do not kill us the super farms do.

In North America in the last 3 days there was a heat wave so many that's why some gear is powered off like Bitfurys.
16590  Economy / Gambling / Re: Worst/Best Betting Mistake Made By You? on: January 01, 2016, 11:07:00 PM
For me it was during the Fed decision to raise interest rates 2 weeks ago. I was betting that the dollar would rally in the next few days and it didn't. Apparently it was overbought and lead to a correction.
16591  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice Python Bot on: January 01, 2016, 11:05:56 PM
Well this is not exactly Python, but maybe this code will help you a little, or you change your mind about programming this bot in Python.
Check out this thread about other PrimeDice bot: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1018417.0

ewwww, Java lol. The python bot posted above works quite well in my experience. I don't gamble much but do like coding bots as well.

This bot (although written in javascript) is nice for folks that have little programming experience: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=831117.0

Yeah I don't like Java either. Java seems to be the preferred language for everything but its very hard for amateurs to code in it. Python is very forgiving and the debugger is easy to find any issues.

16593  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / When will you be selling your mining gear? on: January 01, 2016, 11:00:48 PM
In the not too distance future for many it will be time to sell their gear.

In about 4-5 months or so, winter will be over, many usually sell their gear then.

In 7 months, it will be the halving many will have to sell their gear then.

Any month now there could be a new efficieint miner like the Bitfury 0.05W/GHS, so many will upgrade to that and sell their gear.

For me, I will probably sell most of my gear in the Spring and before the Summer halving and keep my coins and get out of mining altogether since the profits aren't what they used to be.

This pool basically is the only one running the game with it's massive hash power..

But for every 1 BTC mined how much HUC do I receive?
16595  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 42 AntMiner S3+ Batch 7/8 - Execellent Condition - Buy 6 = $100 Each on: December 31, 2015, 11:31:26 AM
These Antminer S3 are great for profit if you already own them and got ROI a few times, but starting from scratch not worth buying them.

Even if you ROI the purchase price, how much possible profit can be made afterwards really? I say max $40, maybe if it gets resold for $50.

What is the HUC payout? The coin is only 500 Sats so wondering if its even worth adding a wallet.

16598  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: December 31, 2015, 01:16:18 AM
I have this issue also from time to time. No idea what is happening but usually clearing the cache works or try a different browser from your main browser. Its not only on PrimeDice there are also many other main stream website that have this error.
16599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: December 31, 2015, 01:14:47 AM
Whenever i gamble i put a daily limit on my money.
F.e. I will never spend more then 0.1 BTC per day. This way i am sure i won't lose all my money.

I've gambled with a couple of websites, but so far i like Crypto Games the best.
They offer the best win chance.

I've experienced that. So my advice is to find your lucky gambling site and only gamble there.

Having a daily limit is a good way to limit your losses. Great find!

I think moneypot is the best when it comes to saving your money and limiting your losses... you can lock an investment in Tongue

True but there is still some degree of risk involved. Nothing is 100% safe.
16600  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which site you don't want to gamble in 2016? on: December 31, 2015, 01:14:20 AM
I had to read this thread title twice before I realized what was going on? Why are you asking for sites to avoid?

Unless its a scam sites, they are all pretty much the same.
