France vs Netherlands goes head-to-head tonight and this is the match that I think will be the most interesting to watch, as the rest of the matches will either be easier to predict the outcome of, or will even be one-sided matches which are not interesting to watch. France will be the favorites to win and Mbappe will be the main player for France to score and this will be his first debut as the French national captain. The most likely thing to do for the Netherlands in this match is to take one point especially France has not lost in the last five matches as the home team.
A strong pairing, two top teams. So I expect an interesting game from both teams. France's veterans Hugo Llaurice, Karim Benzema and Rafael Waran have all left the team. But Deschamps' squad remains strong without them. Both teams are in good form and have strong players in their squads. But my preference is for the Frenchmen. Deschamps' team will play at home. I think France will win in a hard fought game, probably with a minimum score. I don't like France team because they always beat my country (Croatia) but I agree that they are favorites in this game. As a runner up in the World Cup I would say that they are pretty big favorite and the bookies think that also. Odds are 1.7 on France winning and 4.5 on Netherlands. It's interesting how many big games we have right in the first round of the qualifications. |

It's helpful to mention that England haven't won against Italy on the Italian ground since 1961, which seems to be a very long period. In addition, the last 6 matches resulted in 4 Italian wins and 2 draws. Also, England will suffer the absence of the brightest English striker, Marcus Rashford. These points could give Italy some advantages in this match. On the other hand, Italy's last matches in Napoli, where the match will take place, doesn't look good, as they had 3 draws and a loss in the last 4 matches in Maradona Stadium. Anyway, we might watch a very interesting match, because it's the first match for both teams, and all possibilities would be acceptable, as there are more matches to compensate.

After watching how England performed during Qatar 2022, I am slightly pessimistic about their chances. And there seems to be very little team bonding and cohesion within the England squad. On the other hand, whenever they play, Italy display very good team bonding. This time they have a very young team, and I hope that teenagers Simone Pafundi and Wilfried Gnonto will be included in the playing XI. They will be having an ideal mix of young and old, with players like Federico Chiesa, Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne adding experience to the squad. I dont think Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne will be there. They were not in the team in the last match against Austria. Chiesa will be for sure, after his long injury break. @MinoRaiola Italy’s past record suggest that they often win, hence don’t chose England right away as I have a feeling that Italy may stun them again. Furthermore this will be a key test for both the coaches, and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of intent do England display because I’m sure that they’ll be keen to avenge that final loss they suffered at Italy's hand. You are right about that. During the EM, Harry Kane was the captain of the team, but he could not lead his team as he should. He is a brilliant footballer, but i have not seen his worldclass in many games. As a striker he scored 4 goals, he could have scored more. But i think he will play mutch better this time. Isn't it 2 teams from each group? If that is the case then I am pretty sure that Turkey and Croatia will not really have that much of a problem unless they start losing out of nowhere. They should be facing each other and lose points there, one of them or both of them may, but aside from that both teams look like they are better than everyone else, so one of them will be first and the other will be second and they will go up. That is not really a tough task for either team, they need to focus on other games.
England should be beating Italy considering how bad Italy suddenly got after last Euro cup, they weren't even in the world cup when you think about how bad they become.
Yes, you are right! I mixed Euro and World Cup qualifications where the second team in a group has to play one more knock out game to qualify for the final tournament. But still, it's better for the moral of the players to win games and finish at the top of the group I think that people are underestimating Italy because they didn't qualify for the last World Cup. And which national team is the best in underestimating their opponents? None other than England. As Croatian I still remember them underestimating Croatia only to get kicked out of the Euro 2008. And again in Russia when they were calling the cup to "come home" just to be once again sent home by Croatia in the semi final. |

Turkey has the potential to perform upsets, and therefore Croatia should be worried. And they will have the home advantage as well (match scheduled to be hosted by Turkey at the Bursa Metropolitan Stadium near Marmara coast). Now Turkey is a side that failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in 2022. On the other hand, Croatia are the semi-finalists. The momentum is with Croatia and they should win both the matches without much effort. BTW, I need to warn you not to underestimate Wales. Smaller teams from the British Isles (Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales) are capable of their fair share of upsets.
I agree. Croatia tends to play lousy against teams that are weaker "on paper". Also, Croatia often start qualifications by losing a game or two and then they improve their play as qualifications progresses. That's why I don't like the fact that the first two games are against direct competitors for the first place. Maybe it's these two big matches that interest me. So far, England will be the favorites to win but if you look at Italy now, of course they have started to learn from previous failures in other international competitions and they certainly won't give up on winning at home, especially as they are the defending champions of Euro 2020. For the Francis match against the netherlands, i think it was a very tough game with heat. It's clear that the French players are superior in terms of squad depth, but the Dutch defense is also very strong. As the new captain of France, Kylian Mbappe has the responsibility to guide his colleagues to victory in this match.
I think that France should have no problem beating Denmark. I'm not saying that Denmark is a bad team, I just think France is much better. Italy must prove themselves in front of their fans so England will have a hard time playing against them. Mbappe has to prove that he can lead France in this qualifications. |

Somehow I was thinking about big score differences in American Football so I answered accordingly. I knew that Japan would have a hard time passing trough to the finals in the American Football competition. But I know that American Football tends to have big score differences. I have no idea how in baseball a team scores so I'm not sure if I answered good. Oh well... It is what it is... |
