1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Micropayment only client on: January 24, 2012, 08:17:00 PM
imho URI support is much more important to make micropayments (and paying in general) less of a copy paste hassle.
Yes, the Copy-Paste takes me whole 0.8 seconds, better bloat the official client. And from another side URI support is so easy, just bitcoin://bitcoinadress/amount/ or similar.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Micropayment only client on: January 24, 2012, 07:02:51 PM
The idea of such client is pointless as hell.

You can send small amounts of coins with official client.

You can limit the amount you can send to 1BTC by having only 1BTC in your account.

Computer can be protected from malware by not running malware on the computer.

Try to watch this video under drugs! Awesome!
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 20 Bitcoins on Ebay auction - bid at £310 with 30 mins to go! on: January 16, 2012, 09:45:06 PM
Standart folks who know only eBay and PayPal but still want to get hold of Bitcoins.
1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin Investigative Bureau -- PARTIAL MYBITCOIN ADDRESS LIST RELEASED on: January 13, 2012, 03:25:31 PM
This is nice attempt to work against the original intentions of Bitcoin - anonymity and irreversibility. Still it does not help in any way, as mybitcoin does not seem to be concerned about obscuring them. That was the users fault of trusting his coins to someone else, in this case mybitcoin.
1666  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: wallet destruction on: January 12, 2012, 07:23:16 PM
Copy the wallet.dat to yourself, steal coins available and then erase original wallet.dat from target machine for lulz. Or copy the wallet.dat file, wait when lamer recieves more coins in the wallet and then steal the coins. Some users will send more coins to compromised wallet even after the coins are stolen Cheesy
1667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How secure/insecure is this? on: January 07, 2012, 01:06:35 AM
EFS helps against network attack when attacker can access your computer and run code with another account. I will not count to EFS, it never helped to secure me but it only caused to lose some of my files when my windows become damaged.
1668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How secure/insecure is this? on: January 02, 2012, 11:10:46 PM
This helps against other users sitting in front of your computer. The EFS encryption will strike back if your windows installation becomes corrupted and you have no EFS certificate with private key backed up.
1669  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why use Berkeley DB for the wallet? on: January 02, 2012, 10:59:41 PM
The blockchain is verified and scanned for coins that might belong to you according to wallet.dat file. This is WORK and your computer is doing it. You must do the work yourself, actually the bitcoin on your computer must do the work, instead of central banking authority. Arbeit Macht Frei.

If there is an arsonist on the loose in my neighborhood, you can be damn certain that I'm going to install fences.
Is arsonist somewhat related with arse or anarchist?

Not sure if serious, but no.

arson: the malicious burning of another's house or property
Completely serious. I have read about arsonist long ago in some writing about direct-action anarchists causing fire. I thought that arse was prefixed to show how bad these anarchists were. I really must learn new English words properly. But people setting fire on buildings are called pyromaniacs.

To perpetuate always increasing usage of credit cards they have remove all liability from the card user
This is not nearly universal as you say. I'm responsible for all my credit card payments if I cannot prove they are fraudulent. This sucks big time, but I know how to safeguard my CC data. If merchant is hacked this is whole new story. The good point of Bitcoin is irreversibility and no outside control by third party.

This event is great example of problems with credit cards. The Bank or VISA/MC will never lose money. The loser is the most poorer and unprotected person. Usually the lamer whose card was stolen or merchant who accepted it. When bitcoins are stolen, they are stolen for good.
1672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: tainted bitcoins on: December 31, 2011, 04:36:26 PM
Coins are coins. I will change any coin for cash and vice versa. Mt.Gox can eat worms if they do that.
1673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One Aspect of Bitcoin nobody ever talks about ... on: December 23, 2011, 06:54:12 PM
Bitcoin gives the full power and full responsibility to the actual users. No place is safer than safety of my own computer. Mybitcoin and allinvain are examples of centralization or computer insecurity.

Fraud is social problem, not technical one. You can build perfectly secure system, but you cannot eradicate the idiots who get scammed because of their stupidity. Of course, the credit cards are not secure at all. They can be skimmed, numbers written down, etc. Bitcoin also is not secure, you can be frauded to make payment and receiver disappears without making his part of a deal, your computer can be rooted, but all these risks can be completely prevented, if You are smart.
1674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Credit Card Design on: December 23, 2011, 03:07:15 PM
I need to know what data MUST be on the magstripe tracks. The ISO format for contents probably is not needed as it may not fit the data. It's designed for bank accounts.

Track1: Private key to sign transactions. Some checksum digit at the end
Track2: receiving address. The starting character can be 1
Track3: Other??? No need for name of cardholder or date of expiry. The bitcoin must be anonymous and the coins will not expire. When card wears out, it can be copied to new one.

When exact needed data will known, I will try to write that on standard loco card.

The drawback is that coins can be spent with single private key must be recieved to the same address. I'm right? This means the bitcoin receiving address can be linked to single cardholder.
1675  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Am I the only person who doesn't like bitcoin-qt? on: December 22, 2011, 03:37:36 AM
It's also a bit strange that the filesizes are so drastically different.  Did they really re-write the whole thing for a graphical change?  Mac OSX 0.4.1 is 4.08MB and 0.5.1 is 13.8MB.

Windows version also doubled in size, yet the Linux version shrunk a little.
Qt apps are bloated, so that's not surprise for me. But the memory consumption are exactly the same or maybe a little bit less for Qt version.

I will not mourn for this person, but I'm not happy with his death either. Obama is the only head of state who's death will be celebrated by my.

the fuck? how does that logic work?

oh wait, you're a nazi. right.
1. Obama is de-jure ruler of evil empire, who is taking away freedom around the globe.
2. He is nigger.

LOL I hope your not planning on being taken seriously.
Not serious at all. USA is not pushing internet censorship and cutting civil liberties. And Obama is not nigger at all, he is white person and pure aryan.

1679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $90,000 in credit card fees on: December 17, 2011, 05:44:43 PM
The politicans of power are not sponsored by ordinary people and credit cards. They are directed by shadowy organizations, you might call them zionists, illuminati, freemasons. The Obama is only a puppet in theyr hands.

fun fact: this guy is a nazi (and I'm entirely serious!)
who knew that Bitcoin would attract such people Tongue

Confused! Who you referring to as a Nazi? The writer of the post you quoted, or Obama? Personally, I care less, but am curious, hence the question.

~Bruno~

I'm nazi. National Socialist, to be exact.

Bitcoin attracts me because it is technological brilliant idea and it gives freedom from jewish bank systems and impending new world order. Bitcoin gives freedom. I'm also a computer hacker (in both terms of this word) and the Bitcoin is a thing that has never been seen before and the change it might bring to society is hard to imagine. It will change world more than printing press and steam engine have done.

It's actually funny that someone read my posts here and remember them Smiley
