what are escrow services, also are there any exchanges offhand that deal with paypal? would like to be able to send directly to paypal

You can sell BTC, ETH and LTC at Coinbase and they will let you transfer USD to a PayPal account that matches the info in your account. The fees are ridiculous though, something like $10 for $200. I use the Shift Visa debit card that connects to your Coinbase account and lets you spend BTC anywhere Visa is accepted with no conversion fees. You can also withdraw up to $200 at any ATM for a flat $2.50 fee or get cash back at a register for free.

1662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX VEGA 64 ETHEREUM MINING HASHRATE REVEALED!!!!!!! on: August 14, 2017, 08:01:10 PM
Well let's hope miner optimization (looking at your claymore  Wink ) and either some bios changes or memory tweaks help...

I got 3 orders to go through today. Hopefully they all ship. A couple orders of my orders got cancelled due to the 1 per household limit.

Thankfully ebay prices are currently through the roof. If I get them in hand, I may dump them...

PC Gamer already got the Vega 64 to 40 MH/s right out of the box with just a memory overclock. Once the bios and miners are optimized it should get past 50 MH/s. eBay is a scammers paradise where any buyer can claim anything they want without having to prove anything and eBay is more than willing to go along with them at your expense.
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looks like RX Vega sucks at mining, on all the coins... on: August 14, 2017, 06:16:58 PM
I put ZERO faith in unproven benchmarks from new post wonders or tech reviewers. I'll wait until I see BBT's review on Youtube showing the actual card and settings used and the results before I pass judgment. Even then, just as with any new card, it will only get better once miner and driver compatibility catches up.
1664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: August 14, 2017, 05:05:42 PM
It would be nice if at least ONE review would realise that "Ethereum mining" is NOT the only GPU mining that happens.
Makes most of these reviews totally worthless.

NowInStock has been pretty much worthless during the "shortage", it responds WAY too slowly.

It's worked for me. I have been able to get more than 6 cards over the last two months thanks to NowInStock, mostly though Amazon. I keep a browser tab with my alerts open and an alarm that goes off when cards are available. The email notification does have a delay, depending on your email provider.

For example right now you can pre-order Gigabyte AORUS RX 580 8 GB cards for $300 from Amazon.

So i went to our local store to grab one...
Sales person said they had only 4 (!!!) and they got sold out immediately first thing. This is retarded. Its either AMD doesn't have enough supply again or they truly against miners, which will ph_ck them up big deal. Sales person said they will have 4 cards each day for the next month or two and you wont be able to reserve or order them online, only in store and in person and with printed out page with SKU#  (Microcenter)

Sign up for the NowInStock tracker. Seems like it's the best way to get notified when the cards come back in stock.

1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire Nitro+ 580 8gb Hynix mem Issue with stock and modded GPUs on: August 14, 2017, 04:38:47 PM
also instead of using someone else's rom just go to CryptoMined youtube page.. find a vid for a bios mod, get the correct link for the correct version of polarisbioseditor, then just copy the 1:1750 to the 1:2000 and the 2:1750 to the 2:2000 and 2:2250. This should get your Nitro's at 28mh and pulse's at 25mh. Be sure to backup your original bios with atiwinflash

happy mining

The 1750 strap is only for cards with Samsung memory. I have a Sapphire RX 580 4GB Pulse with Hynix memory. With the 1500 strap copied down from both sets of timings together with 1150 MH/s core clock and 2075 MH/s memory clock, it does  28 MH/s on ETH and 880 MH/s on Decred dual mining.

Yes and if I do that then you will ask for me to bring the card to you and let you test it yourself. And when I do that then you will ask for proof of purchase and will want me to rip the card apart so that you can see for yourself the print on the chip.

Believe it or don't believe it dear but this is all you're getting

And as i've said, I doubt that! Cheesy

Is the vega rx 64 for press review

Or so you say Cheesy

yes master next time we will ask for your permission

How about you post a picture of the actual card in your rig or the product box instead of a picture of a miner that proves nothing?

Some reviewer said that the hashrate is like on the Frontier Edition(36mhs?) which is nowhere near 70-100 Mh/s

Highly doubtful. Workstation cards are never as good as gaming models for mining. Workstation cards use a different memory cache intended to fit large files. The Vega FE uses a HBC.

31mh/s on claymore 9.8 at stock settings for the rx 64

That is on the FE edition professional cards that are already out. Workstation cards are never good for mining compared to gaming models. The Vega workstation cards use a different memory cache intended to fit large rendering files in memory. By all early accounts, you should see at least double the FE hashrate on ETH for the gaming models.

1676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will a EVGA 850 WATT Platinum be enough for 4 GTX 1060 cards? on: August 13, 2017, 11:42:43 PM
It should be fine. Keep in mind in addition to what the VGA auxiliary power connector pulls (what is reported in GPUZ), powered risers pull in another 45-50 W each. At 70% TDP a 1060 should pull less than 100W from the VGA power, so adding another 200 W for the four risers and another 60 W for the motherboard and CPU should put the total draw on the PSU to right around 600 W. Which is less than recommended 80% max of the rated PSU capacity.
1677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Questions. on: August 13, 2017, 02:41:21 PM
Yes. Unlike ASIC's which is specialized mining hardware for a specific POW algorithm, modern GPU's are able to mine all types of POW algorithms, including many that can't be mined by ASIC's, at least for now. To mine Ethash type coins like Ethereum, you need GPU's with at least 3 GB of VRAM.

Are most new coins POW? Is POS the future? And can I probably run that from my home without blowing a fuse, I live in the US if that helps.

Most coins currently are POW. Nobody knows for sure what the future will bring but IMO, POW GPU mining isn't going away anytime soon. In fact I think it may become more mainstream. BBT did an excellent presentation and overview on the state of Crypto and insights of where POW mining is going. Highly worth watching even if you're not new to Crypto. The beginning is on PSU configurations for mining rigs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEedQT0oGYw

In the second part of the presentation, BBT goes into his overview on the current and future state of GPU mining.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEedQT0oGYw&feature=youtu.be&t=1361

How many rigs you can run depends mostly on your electrical panel capacity. Most households can easily run between 3-5 six GPU rigs. Another consideration is heat dissipation. Any more than 2-3 rigs and you're likely going to need to find a way to exhaust the heat buildup from mining.

Check if Windows in installed in UEFI mode, not Legacy for 6 GPU's to work.

https://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/29504-bios-mode-see-if-windows-boot-uefi-legacy-mode.html

Hey Vann,

Thanks for the advice. I'll stop by the office where my rigs are tomorrow and give this a try and get back to you!

Just to clarify, I DO want it in UEFI mode...I DO NOT want it in legacy mode. Correct?

Thanks again,
Darcendsun

Yes, create a GPT partition scheme for the drive and and install Windows in UEFI mode. To create a bootable UEFI Windows install flash drive you can use Rufus. Make sure to select 'GPT partition scheme for UEFI' from the drop down menu in Rufus when creating the flash drive and boot to the UEFI installer from the motherboard boot menu.
