it seems panic is stop. time to invest everything.

Graph is keep increase.
I will withdraw 3000$ and buy now. I do not think it will fall again even if 1 August.

anyone else think like me or not?

Everything is possible and i think we should prepare ourselves for 1 August, a second crash may happens at any time even that the price increased ~$500 in less than three days.
Btw i feel sorry for the ones that panic sold their coins

Will bitcoin go under 2000 dollars until august 1?
I'm planning on buying 1 whole bitcoin, but I don't have that much money. I only have 1950 around dollars.
Should I wait to buy a whole bitcoin or just buy 0.8 btc now?

The bitcoin price ranges from $2015 to 2045 in the different exchanges with a drop of +$500 in one week so yeah... - $2000 seems possible in the next hours or days
1664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell Bitcoin ahead of 1st Aug Hard Fork on: July 12, 2017, 07:54:01 AM
Hi everyone,

I have recently sold a large part of my BTC  portfolio as I was spooked by a various sources telling me that BTC was heading for plummeting prices  following 1st Aug and hard fork.  They have also said that  July will be incredibly unstable in terms of price as we approach the deadline.  I a now sitting on cash and waiting for the best time t go back into BTC

Given that the price of BTC has risen every day this week and feeling that I sold unnecessarily and am considering buying back in.  can you feedback to me.

1) Is the 1st Aug really going to be that bad and should we expect volatility in July as we approach the date?
2)  Would you buy back in now or wait sitting on cash for a better price entry point in the coming weeks?

Thanks all

Matt

1- the price gonna be unpredictable and crazy
2- move your coins to a safe place where you control your private keys and hold it until the situation be more clear
1665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin heading to $4,000 on: July 11, 2017, 11:20:52 PM
I'm sure the $ 4000 price will soon be reached in this year, even though the current price drop but the price will rise again. So do not rush to sell because a week again the price will go rise.
Though down I'm sure it will not be lower than $2000 and the decline is now stuck at $2300 and I'm sure the price will go up again, but for $4000 I'm not sure it will happen this month, maybe it will happen after the implementation of segwit2x. No one knows just a prediction.

BIPxxx, segwitxx...all this drama will rest unsolved for a long time imo meanwhile their indirect impact on the bitcoin price is very probable. Hope it goes up..
1666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next UASF in 1 August/2017. Bitcoin UP or DOWN? on: July 10, 2017, 06:13:28 PM
I don't have many informations about this event but should someone holding an amount inside an exchanges or an online wallet, transfers it to a cold storage? Or both storage are the same regarding the fork?

Thanks Theymos

I don't know if i should buy or wait... It could crush or it could be +$1k in 1 year!
Don't do it. If you decide to invest right now, it will be a pure gamble as there are zero indications of how Ethereum from its current already insanely overbought levels will perform. Also take in mind that Ethereum is experiencing some severe network difficulties right now. In some cases you just have to accept that you missed the train, and this nicely fits in that category.

I think i will stick with this idea until further price evolution or great news.

Hope not the same thing happens again with another cryptocurrency  Undecided

It will always happen. Problem is that you're always too late when you start realizing that if you invested in x coin, you would have gained an insane amount of profit. I am not at all in favor of any altcoin, but look at how Ethereum literally exploded in value for example - this is a perfect reflection of what I mentioned before. Even if you did happen to invest in Ether back in the days, you would have likely already sold your coins at 50-100% profit rates. Never blame yourself for missing an opportunity - just make sure you keep holding every satoshi you have right now! Smiley

Yeah, I witnessed ethereum price at $10, i hesitated and didn't invest on it. I would say that i regret this and now I don't know if i should buy or wait... It could crush or it could be +$1k in 1 year!
For bitcoin, i have a huge confidence.

1670  Economy / Speculation / Re: India to legalize bitcoin on: June 22, 2017, 05:16:02 AM

Make bitcoin "legal" is simply a step to take advantage from its growth. I mean in countries with no regulations, there is a big 0 tax revenue and such. Legalising bitcoin will make more people to use it then more revenue.
1671  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could btc hit 1 usd? on: June 18, 2017, 06:27:37 PM
Could some major shift or change happen that would bitcoin nearly worthless especially overnight?

Yes it could happens and a 1 satoshi be equal to 1 USD  Tongue
Never understand from where it comes all this pessimistic ideas... Could the gold price be equal to 1 USD?

Bitcoin is far from Gold. Is way more fragile.   Seems some of you dont understand that Bitcoin is an experiment. There is quite a chance not only that 1 BTC is worth less then $1, but even nothing at all.

Neither the green paper worth anything, just a piece of special printed paper but what makes it important is the market (since it is no more related to gold). Same goes for bitcoin imo.

The State of Montana funded a company that uses/mine bitcoin but especially that is programming to create new jobs. And, apparently this is a sort of reward / encouragement.

DAO exploit or the most recent one when that Canadian exchange lost $14 million are called weakness in ethereum protocol and apparently it hapens to be easily exploitable. the fact that it does not happen more often is because people are already giving their money to the scumbags in form of ICOs, and when people are handing their money to you, you don't put on ski masks and rub them with machine guns, that is for when they stop giving you their money freely.
Hell, the hackers probably already have the exploit in their back pocket, ready to go at just the right time. And what a perfect way to mega pump the market and mega short on the way down.  Grin
I don't know.  More attention = more coders and professionals getting involved.  If that's true then the longer hackers keep it secret, the higher their risk is of someone legitimate finding the exploit and reporting it to Ethereum (or Ethereum developers finding it themselves).

That said if they did have an exploit it'd be pretty nice being them right now.

we passed $4000CAD according to Google.
3000 USD's on its way.  It's been steadier this time, I don't think there would be a correction coming for a while, except maybe some slight resistance at that psychological barrier.

I believe only the 3 Chinese exchanges passed $3000 barrier until now +/- bitfinex. Was hoping this weekend we will see a +$3k in all the exchanges, maybe this week it will happens

1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: so what happened to MegaUpload 2.0 and its revolution! on: June 09, 2017, 09:10:34 PM
This Monday, June 5, Kim Dotcom announced that the private beta version of Megaupload 2.0 and Bitcache will finally be released in August after having the release postponed in January this year.
Kim Dotcom is known for the success of its Megaupload cloud storage platform that was shut down by the US government. He promised the public, a successor to his popular service. In 2015 the entrepreneur announced that he would be using Bitcoin as an incentive layer within his next generation of Megaupload.
At the time Kim promised to officially launch Megaupload 2.0 and Bitcache until January 20 of this year. However, the release date was postponed without confirming a new date.

I think this will push price to 15.000$/BTC -20.000$/BTC at least in a near future. He said that Megaupload 2.0 will atract 50 million people just like the first Megaupload.

It may boost the number of users of bitcoin and its price in the future but I don't think that much
BTW, I almost forgot this project since it isn't launched for many months, hope it will not get postponed again so we can see how much will be successful
1677  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-06]Bitcoin Price Reaches New Historical High and Moves Towards $3,000 on: June 06, 2017, 10:16:44 PM
On Tuesday, June 6, the Bitcoin price reaches a new historical maximum level of $2,850 USD and continues growing.

Despite the negative forecasts of experts at the end of May when Bitcoin’s price fell by more than 30% in one day and moved from its previous maximum of $2,760 to almost $1,800, today Bitcoin reaches new levels.

You can read the full article and take part in the discussion here: https://coinidol.com/bitcoin-price-reaches-historical-high-and-moves-towards-3000/

I believe the maximum value was something around $2930 in coinbase, didn't check the other exchanges but this is promising. $3000 could be reached before Sunday imo
1678  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-03]Bitcoin Value Surpasses US$2,500 Again as Chinese Exchanges Resume.. on: June 06, 2017, 10:14:10 PM

China has lost a lot of its status since these withdrawals were suspended. Korea has shown a great appreciation of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency ever since.

For sure this is a good news to the Chinese traders and maybe we will see again the Chinese exchanges leading the market and the price again
For the moment they have a huge volume

As I have said, Chinese still wants to be relevant in trading but the Japanese has already surpasses them in terms of daily trading volumes. And Korea as well is making good progress as well, so its gonna be a good race for the 3 big Asians country to be the top bitcoin traders. This is good news to bitcoin ecosystem as we are going to new cash flow going into the market. I just hope that the Chinese don't pull the same practice they did with creating fake volumes to push the price of bitcoin up until PBoC caught up with them.

Yeah, indeed, bitcoin ecosystem needs such kind of competition, if we could call it, between these three countries and i hope that India and other countries which have a good potential to join the race.
For the Chinese exchanges i doubt that they will do that tricky practice again

1680  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation about this month bitcoin price on: June 02, 2017, 06:38:40 AM
$4000.

No real proof why except that acceptance and various and increasingly more countries favorable policy changes are accelerating IMHO.

Hope to see this happens but it seems a little bit hard to achieve
In the previous month, bitcoin price increased with +$900 and in May most days are "green" while now it is a little bit stable
It is early to estimate the price but +$3000 should be a logical target
