I would bet the pictures do not do it any justice.. I imagine that wood looks awesome in real life.

I wish I knew how to play. always have been jealous of those that could play

Oh yeah, I remember feeling that way and felt like there is no way to ever learn to actually start playing for fun and not seem like it was all memorization of some mundane chords. But there are definitely easy ways to learn improv and guitar theory online for free and I mainly learned from this one site:

Justinguitar.com

All the stuff you need to know how to really play are on there and is (almost) all free... I know this is completely off topic from trying to sell the guitar, but figured some people including you might like this site if your interested learning. I'm not associated with the site, but the guy who posted the information on his site lays it out very nicely.

Also, yeah the wood in real life is insane and the guitar is well made. Last time I checked before purchasing this guitar the beginning of 2014, there were some people reviewing the guitar on YouTube, and they pretty much say the same thing. Hearing it play over video and looking at pictures won't do it any justice. The tone on this guitar is nuts, I'm just about to move soon and won't have my friends (band mates) to play with any more. So I find my self wanting to buy a good American made acoustic to play with so I can enjoy playing by myself.

coinmarket cap is a waist of time, coingecko is a waste of time.... the only thing that matters is the code. Monero wins.

I'm not saying that I base my support for monero only if it's a certain ranking, but more of just curious about the factors they include...
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 27, 2015, 01:47:51 AM
Quick question... How does coingecko rank every coin? Like how can doge coin be #3 when the price is so low?

Shouldn't this be in the auction thread? Anyway if it's in its original packaging I'll bid .1BTC  Cool

So I was traveling all day today and couldn't really follow what happened on the test run... Can anyone give me a TLDR version of everything that happened? I think everything went smoothly but don't really know. So glad I don't really have to know how to run these types of things and know that monero is in good hands with active devs and experts in the crypto world.

It would be great if you could stop pretending Bitcoin's Layer 1 was created (and/or is able) to replace commercial banking, cash, plastic, and Starbucks gift cards while remaining diverse/diffuse/defensible/resilient.  Please do the engineering.

It's hard to argue that it wasn't created for that when satoshi wrote about things like how to do zeroconf for vending machines:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423.msg3819#msg3819

Or micropayments becoming practical over time as storage and bandwidth costs fall:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=287.msg7687#msg7687

In the subsequent years, some may have realized that isn't the best way to approach things but learning is different from revisionism.

I read something a little while back about M-Pesa being mainly used in Kenya for the beneficial aspect of micro payments... Does any body have any more info on this besides the news articles that 60 minutes briefly did on it?

You realize that a carton cost like $45, and that's in the south? Plus shipping? You are going to have to pay a lot more than $35 per 200 ciggs

.095 BTC
1673  Economy / Goods / Re: Entertaining the idea of selling my Ollandoc hollow body guitar on: November 17, 2015, 05:11:33 AM
bumping with more info:

- Neck has 24 frets with a 25 1/2 scale length
- Seymour Duncan Humbucker pickups
- Spalted Maple veneer body
- Neck board is made out of ebony
- Pick up mini toggle switch for each pick up (Series/Split coil); as well as the main 3-way pickup toggle switch
- Volume and tone control knob

Like I stated before I definitely encourage the use of an escrow, and only accepting payment in bitcoin (no paypal or any other funny business type of transactions).

Just seeing if there were any people on here would be interested in purchasing an "Ollandoc" full hollow body electric guitar. These are produced by Robert M. Olson, a guitar maker out in Arkansas. This is a well done replica of a very famous guitar, the Languedoc, which was made famous by the guitar player for the band Phish, Trey Anastasio. To my knowledge, Paul Languedoc doesn't make these guitars anymore for just anyone who wants to purchase them, and his guitars get extremely pricey. Comes with Seymour Duncan pickups and plays wonderfully, I'm just thinking about getting a better acoustic guitar instead of keeping this one. Also comes with a hard shell case for it, and you would have to pay for shipping on top of what we agree on the price. If you'd like to make an offer feel free to shoot me a PM or post in the thread. Escrow is definitely encouraged.

Are we still in bull trap mode? Or what do you think the next general trend is?

Sometimes I get the feeling that the development of Monero should be limited to GNU/Linux (or at least to Unix like OS) until most the development goals are reached. Those wishing to run Monero on Windows can be provided with a pre-configured Virtual Box GNU/Linux VM and instructions on installing Virtualbox.

Does anyone seriously believe that one can have financial privacy running Monero on Windows 10?

Windows is 90% of the market, and if we are talking about any kind of mass-adoption we need to include smartphones OS too, none of them can be left behind. I still personally recommend Linux for dealing with crypto but we can't expect everyone to follow.

If I'm not mistaken... isn't there something going on (I think with just Apple) that prevents the release of any apps that use any other crypto besides bitcoin?  I think I read that somewhere a while ago Huh

Yeah it does, Monero will need to get a lot more popular to have a chance of getting in the apple store.

Honestly, I could see that never happening any time soon, even if Monero gets super popular because it's so hard to trace and the governments will probably have a time trying to regulate it...  I guess that would be a good and bad thing at the same time.

Is it just BTC sucking up all the attention money with its rally, or is there something else to it?

In my mind its really a simple matter. 95% of people holding altcoins are holding them in the hopes of getting rich, and probably 95% of altctoin devs are doing the same thing. Bitcoins little rally is an opportunity for them to cash out. Lots of people sell altcoins to get bitcoins to turn into fiat. I'm not surprised its happening with monero to some extent because there's so much sloshing around on poloniex, because its the only place for it to slosh around. So I don't think its sucking up all the attention money, its just that profiteers are seeing an opportunity.

How much of a percentage of the people that actually believe in monero and aren't using it for pump/dump scenarios have right about now in y'alls opinion?  I was just thinking about that a little while back, and it seems like there seems to be a large majority of people using it for that purpose only on poloniex, since it has went down from .0013 to .0012 today.

Also, just looked on poloniex and look like there's a lot of cheap coins out there on the market... might be a good time to purchase a good chunk  Roll Eyes

Most of the website is already translated into Chinese. However, if I recall correctly fluffypony is waiting for a jekyll update to integrate it. Also, it might be a good idea to let your friends translate some articles.

Yeah I was thinking of possibly trying to get them interested with monero in general at first, but I'm still stuck trying to figure out a way to bring it up to them without seeming as if I'm trying to sell them something... They are both in China and Japan as of right now working, so it's not like I can just happen to bring it up to them while having a couple of beers or something.  But I might have to just go ahead and message them if the demand for it here is greate enough, because it would be too long to wait for christmas when they get back in town.

But I was thinking maybe to get them to translate fluffy's speech that he posted on youtube at first, since that seems to describe everything someone would need to know before investing..
