And the winner of the First Annual GAWlympics Competition (maybe we'll do it monthly?) is:

User sticknutzhash, with entry:  I came. I GAW. I conquered.

Thank you and congratulations! You're being contacted now! Smiley

Thank you everyone for participating and making this a fun event in the name of GAW Wink
We really enjoyed going through each one of your entries and look forward to running promotions like these for you in the future!

Now I wish I could GAWk his account...

I'm just telling you what your realistic options are:

1. Make smaller payments.

2. Combine your inputs in 2+ steps.

3. Get whoever is sending you the tiny inputs to send you bigger ones.

That's pretty much it.

Yeah, not many real options... Thank you though..
16603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 28, 2014, 11:13:19 AM
I have more and more often issues with the transaction size. Last time the biggest amount I was able to send was 0.15 MRO at a time.
I am using monero.win.x64.experimental.0526.

Is it a known issue? Is there anything I can do about it?

Thank you.

Its due to how many inputs you have, Im guessing your mining to that address?

Theres not really a lot you can do as far as Im aware.

You have to create a second wallet, then send the coins from the first wallet to the second wallet in bigger chunks than you received them. Keep doing that and you can build up outputs of whatever size you want.

Yes, I am mining to that address and my hashrate is not very big, so the inputs are very small.
Still, it's extremely frustrating to transfer so small amounts and all the pools I know mine directly to wallet.
Am I the only one with this problem??

Probably not. The pools should be making a smaller number of larger payouts.

Quote
Transferring from one of my wallets to another in small chunks would be tax free or less frustrating? I doubt it. And then it would be no benefit at all in this.

The benefit is that you can make larger payments. Otherwise it would be impossible to do so.

There will be transaction fees. Again, get your pool to give you bigger payments to begin with, or switch to one that will. Or gamble on solo mining. You probably get nothing but if you do get something it will at least be big enough to use.

I don't know any MRO pool that does that. Do you?
Solo mining at my hashrate is waste of time and you know that. I hoped for real/helpful advises, really...

So I didn't get a second chance Cry *sigh*

I've re-read your post and I am still not certain.
My mother tongue is not English. But seeing that others got special mentions I will also send my wallet address.

Yay! Party on! I indeed won 500 HVC. That's half of what I mined in the entire first month!! Thank you!
16608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - Ultra-secure, Decentralized Block Reward Voting, Fast on: May 27, 2014, 12:39:50 PM
I pass, do not intend to buy

The ideas behind Heavycoin are interesting and new, unfortunately the developers seem to be.... developers. Meaning not enough socia skills. There are too many coins and community is harder to grow than just creating it. But there are steps done towards marketing and growing the community, so the hope is not lost.

So quiet here..
The competing folks don't want to tell anyone they look for clues and try to figure out the coords?
16613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 21, 2014, 11:56:53 AM
^^ I used the command line apps and they do the job well.

Step 1: Copy bitmonerod.exe and simplewallet.exe where your wallet is, if you don't have them there.
Step 2: Start the bitmonerod.exe, leave it sync. When sync finished, type: save. When you want to exit, type: exit. Don't just close the console or such. You can keep the daemon started for now, just make sure it synced (it's written green) and you saved.
Step 3: Start simplewallet.exe. Let it do its job, then the balance will be shown. If you want other operations, type help. If you want to close, type exit.

If I've sent today a PM before your second clue, does it count for today or for yesterday?

Hey man - Sorry, it's one guess per user for the entire competition, not one per day.

The idea is to let people either guess early with only a little bit of information, or decide to hold off for a few days for more clues until they know for sure.

PM me if you feel this could have been explained better in the rules, this is the first time we're running the promotion so looking to iron out anything that might be confusing.

Cheesr,
M

I may try to benefit of the promotion Smiley
PM-ed you.

Same for me, second block found and still not paid. Looking for another coin, I don't like being scammed.

sorry for asking such a stupid question, but the 1.1 windows wallet is weird? when I download and extract it, it's not an exe file. renaming it to exe results in a non-functioning file. Anyhow, I don't have much data volume left to keep trying and searching, so if any one feels helpful enough to send a PN with a properly working (latest windows) build of heavycoin, I'd appreciate your help!

cheers
florian

It's a zip with 8 file in it. Did you unpack it correct?
Also, Chrome detects it as unsafe. Maybe your antivirus silently deletes some of those files?
