16621  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is BTC not used in Games? on: July 06, 2013, 11:43:39 PM
... and I don't mean dice, poker, roulette and all this stuff in which BTC is used a lot. I mean real games. At least in Germany it's legal to play online for money, when not luck but skill decides wheter you win or loose ... So, BTC could be the universal curency for the Gamer-Universe, and I think it would be extremely cool to transfer the money you found in World of Warcraft to some other Online-Role-Game - also the providers could earn via provision - so: why is this not?

this is a good idea. i think ripple is perfect for this as it can trade multiple currencies as long as the gateway supports it. i am slowly becoming a believer in ripple (the network, not the xrp) the more i read about it.

it really might be the next step after bitcoin.
16622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin says ''Fuck you'' on: July 06, 2013, 11:36:58 PM
Bitcoin has sent a little message to all the bears today:

Be warned bears, don't fuck with the Bitcoin. Tongue

lol. bitcoin says to bulls:  SUCKERS!!!  then bitcoin proceeds going down to 50.
16623  Economy / Speculation / Re: Confess, Single Digit Believers on: July 06, 2013, 11:34:41 PM
There have to be some of you out there. Does anybody believe Bitcoin will go below $10 again? Cheesy

yes please. go back to zero.
16624  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will Bitcoin hit 1000$ ? on: July 06, 2013, 11:33:52 PM

16625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Needs Something New and Exciting on: July 06, 2013, 11:51:41 AM
What merchants wants is a simple payment system that is easy to control and maintain.

I'm thinking that most want a simple solution that allows their customers to pay in BTC and automatically deposits local fiat into their account.
Would also assume that a merchant that is interested in BTC might want to keep a fixed percentage of BTC while the rest is converted. -That way they can get an upside if BTC increases in value, with little risk as all they risk is their profit at that particular order. As of now I guess very few merchants see more than a couple of percent(or a fraction of a percent) of their sales being paid by BTC.

we have ripple for that. but its still in beta.

being an idealist is good.  i encourage you to not sway from this line of thinking.

talk to me in 10 years where it got you.

Did you toke some weed? I'm not getting your point.

dig deeper. you'll get it.
16627  Economy / Speculation / Re: The reason BTC is dropping in price. on: July 06, 2013, 10:15:03 AM

Btw, I expect the same thing to happen soon in the stock, bond and most other financial markets - when people realize how crazy the politicians and central bankers are, and that practically every financial market is in a bubble.

Well if sheeple like you think that then it's probably not going to happen LOL

as if you're not a sheep.  we all are, dont forget that. that's why we are here trying to play the btc market, posting in this forum typing as if we all know shit. if we werent sheep, we'd have billions and all the insider info to make more billions.

so stfu and quit acting you're higher than everyone else nerd.
16628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market cycle : where do you think we are ? (update!) on: July 06, 2013, 10:11:02 AM
Come on, we're not at capitulation yet !

Past denial for sure, if we refer to the mode traditional 5 stages of grief, I'd say between anger and bargaining.
Lots of anger in the air for sure, just look at oll the trolling taking place on this forum in the past few days Smiley
Lots of bargaining too, as perma-bulls are now joining the bears playing the "we're in a downtrend, but I'll use that to increase my position by buying the dips and selling on the bounce up. Buy low, sell high, I'm making money right ?" game.
Not enough despair... but don't worry we'll get there.

i am excited to see how all the people pissed off react when it gets to this stage.

16631  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people trust in fiat money? on: July 06, 2013, 09:51:11 AM
oh and since you think you and your btc can make it without the 'system' why dont you give up all the stuff you bought with fiat, give up your job that pays you fiat and try living on your btc.

let's see if you're not sucking men for fiat in a couple of months.
16632  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people trust in fiat money? on: July 06, 2013, 09:43:00 AM
This is a very interesting quesion since when people sell bitcoin for USD, it means they trust USD more than bitcoin

So why do people trust in fiat money, which is created out of nothing by the central banks?

Is it because they have no knowledge about money creation, or because their ignorance about the financial, or their respect/fear about the government enforcement?

One accept fiat money is because all the other merchant also accept fiat money as a payment medium, once this tradition established, it seldom changes

But this is only one reason, another reason might be that they regard fiat money as a safenet, backed by the government. Look at the FDIC rules, it just want to calm people from withdrawing their savings from banks and it worked very well

I think some kind of insurance should be built around bitcoin, to give people more confidence to handle the bitcoin. Saying this is backed by mathematics and network just scared most of them

are you an idiot?  its not a matter of trust. we need fiat to buy stuff...  like hookers. i cant get a hooker to suck me with btc.

oh, and what did you use to buy your house, your car, that burger you ate?  btc?Huh  wtf are you?  jesus?!?
16633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dear bitchy bunch of bears, on: July 06, 2013, 09:39:19 AM
You haven't got a case. Whenever you give a reason, it's debunked in 10 seconds. This is why all you have left is the land of fart, and why all we see now is bunches of bears farting about.

you mad bro?
16634  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market cycle : where do you think we are ? (update!) on: July 06, 2013, 09:37:46 AM
Desperation day give it a few more hours to transition towards panic

yeah. but some people are still in a state of denial. they wont sell whatever happens.
16635  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping Bitcoin Price High on: July 06, 2013, 09:34:31 AM

16636  Economy / Economics / Re: Any good Bitcoin investments to make in this crash? on: July 06, 2013, 09:31:23 AM
ppc and trc is breaking out with spike in volume.
16637  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Prices Crashing Now! on: July 06, 2013, 09:26:13 AM
The price has gone from $91 to $76 in thelast 24 hours, with a large acceleration of this drop in the past couple hours.  Looks like a massive dump with panic selling in illiquid market.  Volumes way up too in last couple hours.  Any news I am missing?!

that's the thing. no more news. no more attention.

the hype is gone. that's what bitcoin had going for it when it reached 200+. do you honestly think a bitcoin is really worth that much?  i cant even get a hooker for btc.
16638  Economy / Speculation / Re: 70 Will hold on: July 06, 2013, 09:18:10 AM
Haha...

Well looks like I was wrong.

I was selling to buy cheap.

Anyway I've got a new strategy now. Buy buy buy, and hold the more it drops.

The price is cheap any way you look at it. Don't care how far it's going to drop now, I'm not selling just going to pump more in as it gets cheaper!

ok say you average down til it goes to 30. then goes sideways for 2 - 3 years. you lost money.

that is a waste of your time and your money.

but maybe that's fine when you're risking a few hundred i guess.

edit:  if you really want to speculate and are willing buy and hold, i would go for xrp.
16639  Economy / Speculation / Re: I just cashed out my lot of Bitcoins for Gold. Here's why. on: July 06, 2013, 09:13:07 AM
oh one sign bitcoin is dying is the volume in trading. so far its good.
16640  Economy / Speculation / Re: I just cashed out my lot of Bitcoins for Gold. Here's why. on: July 06, 2013, 09:11:33 AM
Short-term:

- Things are crashing hard this Summer. The media bubble has faded. We might see ourselves at $80 again. Even $30.

Long-term:

- Gold is going to recover. Hidden economic trouble is brewing. 'nuff said.

- The NSA has full control of Bitcoin through holes in SHA-256 and DSA that the mass of the public has yet to find. The whole blockchain might find itself worthless within the decade.

It was fun but Bitcoin is going to need a judgement day before cryptocurrency can become mainstream.

Here's my prediction: Bitcoin is going to be blown apart. The price will go to zero by 2020.

To those looking at this from the future: I told you so.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jun/09/nsa-whistleblower-edward-snowden-why

Quote
Q: Why did you decide to become a whistleblower?

A: "The NSA has built an infrastructure that allows it to intercept almost everything. With this capability, the vast majority of human communications are automatically ingested without targeting. If I wanted to see your emails or your wife's phone, all I have to do is use intercepts. I can get your emails, passwords, phone records, credit cards.

"I don't want to live in a society that does these sort of things … I do not want to live in a world where everything I do and say is recorded. That is not something I am willing to support or live under."

Q: Is it possible to put security in place to protect against state surveillance?

A: "You are not even aware of what is possible. The extent of their capabilities is horrifying. We can plant bugs in machines. Once you go on the network, I can identify your machine. You will never be safe whatever protections you put in place."

i like the selling your btc part to lock profits.  but your gold prediction part remains to be seen. i hate predictions, especially when nobody really knows whats going on except for the insiders.

btc going to be at zero by 2020?  that's a big maybe. but until then, what will replace btc?  so far nadda. btc is here to stay for now.
