Probably the best way to make money at poker is to run a poker school or a poker website Smiley

+1 for the poker website!! Smiley

That one's a month old. You still have to sync the rest and you might still end up on the wrong fork, I did.
Best to wait for an official update from the devs.

I can see it now, then wait for the devs to take out bin

Any idea when the update is expected?

I'd assume it'll happen as soon as the devs got some sleep

16645  Economy / Economics / Re: Here is a real bubble - gold on: September 05, 2014, 11:53:42 AM
Gold cannot be a bubble for now. Earth has a limited supply of gold, which sooner or later will be all mined. If we ever get to mine in the outer space, this may change.

Instead, the biggest bubble and scam in history is fiat.
Just imagine: some cheap paper or plastic the politicians decide what value it holds. And the value is tied to... actually nothing.

The ones that do inflation and deflation is fiat. ....Just my 5 cents.

You can get from here bits and from here dogecoins every hour. They're very good faucets.

As for the overall market - don't worry, when BTC hits $10,000 in the next ~6 months, alts will explode like you've never seen.  I think Hedge funds are already buying alts so this next rally will have legs.

I don't have many HVC and I.. am not really a rich altcoin holder. But I sooooo hope you're right......

That translation is a (bad) joke. I think that it's worse than google translation Smiley

Thanks for pointing out this.   Unfortunately people don't understand the concept of community.

You have right to claim a non ordinary MidasCoin bounty of 10 Mid per pointing out this situation.

Please, send us a pm with a single word of your choice (example "dog"), then submit us a support ticket here http://midaspay.io/helpdesk mentioning the word that you used in pm (for verify that you and only you are claiming this).

For translators, do not submit automated translations, we verify that.

Best Regards

Thanks for the offer, will send the PM soon.
If you think so, I will try to re-create a good translation, but I can't promise that I'll be quick with that.
16649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 04, 2014, 08:56:41 AM
The markets are closed. So why keep arguing? It doesn't really serve to anything, even the price cannot change (fall) until all is fixed and markets unfreeze XMR.

And when it's fixed, the only reasonable outcome would be a stronger coin.
16650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 04, 2014, 07:21:08 AM
Yes, create a new wallet, preferably on an offline computer, write down the seed words it gives you, and write down the public address it gives you. That is your paper wallet. Send to the wallet using the public address. Use the seed words to access the coins from it by creating a new online wallet with the '--restore-deterministic' option.

Wow, great explanation! Though I knew about the deterministic option, I somehow thought that XMR has no such thing as paper wallet.
Now... let's push my luck.. and is there any way to actually know how much is on a paper wallet without restoring it and going online? (my guess is "no", but I already guessed wrong once).

In my eyes it looks like somebody added into the spam mail parts from books in an attempt to fool some of the spam filters.
16653  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Browser You Use on: September 03, 2014, 02:30:41 PM
Where available - Chrome. It just syncs my everyday data between the computers and the tablet I use. Very handy.

On my old Android 2.x phone I keep switching them. Right now I use Maxthon Browser there.
16654  Other / Off-topic / Re: Great books on: September 03, 2014, 02:23:20 PM
I'd recommend:

"A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R R Martin

And if you like SF:

"A Fire Upon the Deep" and "A Deepness in the Sky" by Vernor Vinge
"Tuf Voyaging"  by George R R Martin
Ender saga by Orson Scott Card
16655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Losing faith...heres why... on: September 03, 2014, 12:50:40 PM
Bitcoin starts becoming a currency, not an investment. Which is actually good.
Although I don't like it, most (if not all) altcoins are traded (between them or to/from fiat) through... bitcoin. And some altcoins seem to have a very bright future.

Both of these can get to the conclusion that Bitcoin is far from dead. I can even say that although its price is not great, the coin is actually doing good.
16656  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Vs. Paypal on: September 03, 2014, 11:05:25 AM
I hope that I will not be considered off-topic, but if you take a better look around, there are coins with much lower tx fees than bitcoin and even faster transaction speed (one example is dogecoin, but I am sure it's not the only one).

The only problem is that you may need to convert the coin to bitcoin before exchange it back to fiat.

The only real problem with cryptos vs paypal is that your transaction is not insured. If you got scammed, bad luck. But at some point, soon, a company may wake up and fill this gap.

Usually more pairs of eyes can find the issues much easier.
Usually a team of devs can become easier online 24/7 making shifts, especially if they are in (way) different timezones.

...just my 0.05 XMR.

16659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MONERO.RS 100 XMR Giveaway on: September 01, 2014, 11:50:17 AM
1. average hash rate / 24 hours
2. a line with "my" estimated income on the next block
3. a line with "my" unconfirmed income (this was always missing and almost made me not mine monero at the beginning)
4. (this was already mentioned) an option set the withdraw threshold (in some limits) or to not get coins at all
5. a manual withdraw option

I will try to add more ideas inside this post.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6. One thing that drives me off most pools.. the timeouts. You should really try to do better on them.
I am a very small miner and until now only one pool manages to almost completely avoid timeouts. I mean this:
Code:
[2014-09-01 15:53:45] Pool set diff to 6348.01
[2014-09-01 15:53:45] Stratum detected new block
[2014-09-01 15:55:45] Stratum connection timed out
[2014-09-01 15:55:45] Stratum connection interrupted
Later edit: it looks like you guys fixed something there, it is MUCH better! I'd say it's as good as my previous pool.
7. I've seen a great idea on another pool, another coin, quite some months ago: if you came to this pool based on a referral, some 0.5%? 0.05%? of your income goes to the one that gave you the link. Now the more beautiful part: if you didn't come from referral that % goes into a "basket", or if somebody referred more than a max amount, the extra goes into that same "basket". Every week (or month) a drawing is made and one miner (that mined minimum x hours) can win that amount of XMR. I hope I explained it good enough..
16660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 26, 2014, 11:35:52 AM
Future of mining ?
Currently I believe altcoin mining with programmable hardware doesn't really have a future.
I agree. There are far too many coins.... and I think that only a very few deserve to remain alive.
I wish I knew which ones Smiley
