Are you new to bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general? If so, I'd suggest you don't go straight to trading and investing immediately. I suggest learning about blockchain technology in general first, before going deep into crypto. Trust me. This is a huge deciding factor when deciding on what cryptocurrencies are actually good or bad and also, which ones to invest in.

I thought the exchange never opened in the end

Here you go: https://bitcoin.com.eg/ the scheduled opening just got delayed, and is currently still not open. But you can already sign up just so you get an email notification when it opens.

Also,  you're free to trade cryptocurrencies on exchange sites like Bittrex.com. Just a heads up just so if you're planning on doing cryptocurrency trading in the future.
16663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to know the people behind the investment scheme that the real intention was on: October 01, 2017, 04:11:28 PM
Easy. Don't give in to "investment" sites. Since 99.9% of them are just bullshit anyway, and is only made to steal from you. You want to invest? Simple. Hold your bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, keep them extra secure, and just be patient. If everything goes right, chances are, the prices will rise.
16664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After Satoshi Reveals Himself ! Will Bitcoin Price Jump to $30,000 Dollars ? on: October 01, 2017, 01:42:17 AM
I think if Satoshi Nakamoto revealed himself/herself/themselves, it would pretty much have little to no effect in price. Because why would it affect the price? Unless Satoshi is like Bill Gates or Elon Musk I don't think it matters that much. It just depends whatever information he/they give out.

Though if he/they ever reveal himself/themselves, Satoshi would definitely have a huge huge influence over the masses. If ever Satoshi says something along the lines of "X cryptocurrency is now better than bitcoin" or something, definitely expect a huge price swing, even though technically Satoshi doesn't have any authority over bitcoin even though Satoshi is the inventor.
16665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can some cash the ICO money if token are not listed on an exchange on: September 30, 2017, 06:47:21 AM
Yes, I'm pretty sure they can. I don't think there's a sort of contract or agreement whereas they can't just run away with the offerings. Like just what DaMut said, this is probably the main reason China and South Korea banned ICOs, and that's to prevent their people from getting scammed. This is a perfect reason that you do extensive research before getting in on an ICO.
16666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where the thread about ADAcoin? on: September 30, 2017, 05:41:11 AM
Not sure if this is the one, but it looks like they rebranded or moved to "The Cardano Foundation". Their site, adacoin.com, now links to cardanofoundation.org. Honestly never heard of this coin, as it's not even listed on coinmarketcap. I personally don't trust it, so I suggest that you proceed with caution.

16667  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it safe to use new and upcoming coins? on: September 30, 2017, 03:30:02 AM
Some coins are good, some are bad. There are lots and lots of horrifyingly bad cryptocurrencies out there, and currently multiplying; but at the same time there are very good ones also. You just have to read a lot about those certain cryptocurrencies to know if a certain cryptocurrency actually safe and worth something or not and is not a scam or a cashgrab.

Right. Doing deep research/analysis is part of the "job" i guess. It would be awesome if someone could share their past history about how they got scammed or something to watch out for in more detail.

Thank you for your post tho, good luck Smiley
A good example would be "ErosCoin", not 100% sure of the name as I'm not 100% if I remember correctly. But what happened is they started an ICO, then they just ran away with all the BTC/ETH offerings after a few weeks/few months.

Another good example is the past ChainCoin pump. Not necessarily a "scam", but it's a good example why you should do your own research and not just listen to shillers and pumpers. It's a perfect example of a pump and dump scheme.

A few months ago a cryptocurrency YouTuber named "HighOnCoins" basically told his viewers to buy a certain cryptocurrency named "ChainCoin", claiming that it's a "Pump and Hodl" not a pump and dump. Guess what, a day after, the price skyrockets, even though the project has been long dead and no developers are even working on it. The huge increase in price also convinced alot of people to go big on that coin, thinking that it will continue to rise more. guess what happened a few days after? Chances are, the bigger buyers already cashed out and bailed after ChainCoin reached a certain pricepoint, leaving most of the people with worthless coins.

16668  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Using LocalBitcoins.com on: September 30, 2017, 02:55:53 AM
I honestly would only use it if I we're to have a transaction in person, and also if I'm planning on paying/receiving the payment in cash. That way my bank account wouldn't be involved. It just like simply buying a tangible item from a person in your city; you send the btc, then the buyer gives you the cash.

There might be scammers on localbitcoins, for sure. You just have to choose the right users to buy/sell on. You can view their reputation there and also how long they usually respond to offers.

Also, I don't suggest receiving PayPal funds from localbitcoins users that aren't really that trusted, as they can easily do a charge back.
16669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto ,how to save innocents ? on: September 29, 2017, 05:14:00 PM
People in the cryptocurrency universe mostly only get robbed via shitty ICOs and shitty security, as some people even admit that they only save their private keys on a .txt file or a .doc file. Might aswell hand over your money to the hackers. The best way we can help the newbies is to inform them, early on. Most have to get hacked for them to realize how important wallet security is.

Yes it is Crypto. It's just like fiat moneys. Purchased, Paid, and other similar words. Money is run by people, The crypto is the same. The money people use is the crypto as well. What i want to say is to be careful as you keep your money. Crypto has nothing to do with thefts. It is responsible for the people who are using it. So, the only thing I can advise on you innocent beginners is to be careful about every step you can take in. Just like keeping your money.
The big difference is, money is run by peoplethe government. Most cryptocurrencies are run by the people, for the people.  Wink

If your banks going to lock up your bank account if bitcoin is involved, probably go for localbitcoins.com instead. You can probably set up a meetup with a localbitcoins buyer and receive your money directly in cash, depending on how much you're planning on selling of course.
16672  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoScreener for BitCoin & Alt Coins on: September 29, 2017, 04:44:07 AM
Looking great! Probably just need to work a bit more on your user interface. Default font is slightly too small in my opinion. Raise it up a notch by 1px or 2px and we're good. Really love the cryptocurrency-specific news feed when viewing certain cryptocurrencies.

More suggestions:
  • Probably add a "Number" column before the symbol column
  • *minor* add a $ sign before dollar values in your table
  • Add links to the official website, community forum, whitepaper, etc when viewing a certain cryptocurrency
  • I prefer using day mode when viewing sites in the day. But the day mode version of your site is very bad. Work on it a bit. Probably add a bit of gray colors on some sections, just so the theme wouldn't be purely white background
16673  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Multi coin analyzer on: September 29, 2017, 04:33:01 AM
Currently, I don't think that we have that kind of web app (not 100% sure). Though that's a great idea for a web service, but I personally think that detecting certain market trends can be quite complicated to code. If you could afford it, probably hire a decent programmer to make one for you (probably one from a 3rd world country so you could pay a bit cheaper).
16674  Other / Meta / Re: Rank updates? on: September 29, 2017, 03:34:24 AM
Your activity updates every two weeks. Your rank updates after you reach certain thresholds of activity.

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Activity is updated every hour.

16675  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet help on: September 29, 2017, 02:47:14 AM
There's electrum for mobile? I'm on iPhone thanks for the reply guys👍

Yea. Here's the download links for multiple platforms: https://electrum.org/#download

Though on iOS I'd personally prefer BreadWallet. There's something about slick user interfaces that makes me always go for them; but of course feel free to try both. Also, good choice of staying away from Jaxx. It's not much of a safe wallet. Breadwallet link: https://itunes.apple.com/ph/app/breadwallet-bitcoin-wallet/id885251393?mt=8
16676  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which platform to use for tech analysis on: September 28, 2017, 04:40:25 PM
I've been hearing good things about Coinigy and TradingView. These two are the chart/market platforms that most cryptocurrency trading YouTubers use. Unfortunately they're not free. But if you can afford spending a few dollars a month for better market data then these might be worth it for you. Though of course feel free to use what other's are suggesting as well.

16677  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How about trading like a PRO crypto currency trader? on: September 28, 2017, 03:17:20 PM
If I was a "pro" trader I honestly would keep all my trade information to myself. There's only one reason to publicize your trades, and that's to pump a certain coin. I personally wouldn't want that unless I'm planning to pump and dump, since if I were to pump a coin I'd expect people to just sell after that certain coin reaches a certain pricepoint. I'd prefer a coin to sort of "naturally" increase in price, without using any hype whatsoever.
16678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NEWbie TRading on: September 28, 2017, 02:43:59 PM

16679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Idea: How to increase bitcoin demand on: September 28, 2017, 02:20:25 PM
I would be happy to submit a request to Amazon. Do you have a link to a contact page on Amazon where we can enter our request?

Even better: What if you made a template for us and we could just copy/paste it to make it easier for us?

Alternatively, we could start a BitcoinTalk.org petition for the adoption of Bitcoin on Amazon.com. I think it could have a chance to spread awareness, especially if we can get it on Reddit somehow.

Amazon feedback link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/rsvp/leave-feedback.html

A petition would be good, probably on a site like change.org or something. I'm completely against making a template so we could just copy and paste the message though. They would probably just take it as spam. I prefer writing a short and sweet suggestion explaining how and why we wanted to pay with bitcoin.
16680  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Are Indian Bitcoin Prices Higher Than International Prices? on: September 28, 2017, 10:44:57 AM
Can you give us any links to backup your claim? I've checked a few Indian exchange sites like coinsecure and zebpay, the prices are currently very close to current market prices.

Zebpay(India) | 1BTC = 271,895INR = $4,149
Coinsecure(India) | 1BTC = 272,000INR = $4151
Coinbase | 1BTC = $4,181.01
Coinmarketcap | 1BTC = $$4178.58
