I'd still rather see him focus on making private transfers work for everyone first as it's a core feature of XC before further reviewing other coin's code. But my bias is obvious being that it doesn't work for me. Dan and I are going to do some testing later this afternoon so hopefully we narrow down why it's not working the way it should.

I think he learned from keycoin and will execute it a little differently. also not all devs are as shady as keycoin and don't give credit.
Perhaps finally people will realise that its a wise idea to buy the coin of the dev everybody is running to for validation.
Arlyn should look over it since its a public statement and he really knows how to find a middle ground of objective review and still showing superiority of the own project without sounding arrogant.

I'm not talking about previous execution with keycoin, I'm talking about making our coin work 100% before peer-reviewing other coins. If there is available time to help others, great, but it shouldn't come at the expense of neglecting existing bugs with our own coin.

There should be some things that are up to the dev to decide, don t you think? Let s not become too demanding, neither concerning Dan nor the market situation.

Considering on multiple occasions of previous testing attempts with Dan he has had to delay or push back our testing period because he didn't have the time, I would say if he has the time available to test someone else's code, he should have the time to test with me to resolve an issue that affects 100% functionality of the coin he, himself, is developing.

How do you know he is going to review their code before he helps you this afternoon?

You are coming across as extremely needy, IMO.  You are the only one that seems to have this problem.  I think Dan is being very gracious by spending some one on one time with you to try and figure it out.  I would find it surprising if Dan would give priority to another coin over his own project.

In my eyes, since you are the only one who can reproduce the bug, it is a relatively low priority.  Instead of complaining, you should be commending.

Anyone else experiencing a blurry/grainy middle part of the OP image(s)?

I can see it.  I think I noticed it yesterday also, but just attributed it to our awful network performance here at work.  Smiley

They are split between two new inputs, under the same address.

Exactly, but he was saying this:

...they are split evenly into two new addresses after staking...

I have a question, and maybe the answer is obvious, but could it be that alot of the sell orders are people selling their staked coins for some short term profit? Is it possible to have large surpluses of staked coins at this stage in our development?

Interesting point.  I also often wonder if the Exchanges themselves are staking with client's XCs and selling them? Quite possible.

Highly unlikely that exchanges are staking.  Look at http://chainz.cryptoid.info/xc/#!rich and notice that the exchange addresses don't change for days, weeks, or months.
1685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: August 07, 2014, 03:24:58 PM
If an address starts with 500 XC (POS sweet spot 50-500) and then stakes so the balance is over 500 XC, is it no longer in the POS sweet spot for future staking at that same address?

I am not sure if it's the same with XC, but I've noticed in other PoS coins that when coins at an address stake they are split evenly into two new addresses after staking. So 500 XC after staking might become 251.5 XC at two different addresses.

This is not the case with XC.  Thanks anyhow.

I'm pretty sure that is how my staking has been working... so I start with a 500 it turns into two 250's, then 4 125's, 8 62.5's, so on until I coin control it back into a 500 chunk...

If that were the case, how can I track my addresses through the block explorer API and still see the number of coins in each address increasing?

In your first statement you said that they are split into new addresses.  So you have 8 new addresses with 62.5 in each addy?

This is not the case for me, but I am not using the most recent wallet version either.  Maybe something changed, but it would seem like a lot of extra addresses would be generated if what you are saying is true.

Edited to add:  One of my addresses has 6432 transactions of which 6400 are probably from staking.  There are only 4880 XC addresses with balances/transactions known in the block chain.

Correct, it is not the case with XC.  I have more than one address in my wallet, all have more than 500 XC in them, and I don't have any issues staking.

I guess I am not a true believer that each address in the wallet should have 500 XC, but rather that the transactions in the address be 500 XC or less.  I guess the only way to tell is for me to generate hundreds of addresses in a new wallet and then send each one 500 XC and see if my rate of stake increases.  That really isn't an exercise that I want to do though.  Sounds like too much work.  Smiley

Will the surprise be later on today?

Ummm, I would say yes.  Wink

Thanks to everyone for staying civil... lets get this back on track.

Anyone wanna tackle the paper wallet request that was posted a couple days ago? Theres a good size bounty out there.

I'm working on it.  ...

I am going to be sending the paper wallet generator to the team for review.  Hopefully all goes well.

I'm working on it.  I have the addresses and private keys working and I am now trying to make the wallet look nice.  I am by no means a graphic designer, so it is a bit of a struggle for me. Smiley

I basically forked from https://github.com/litecoin-project/liteaddress.org

Edited to delete link to old design.
1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] PoS/Privacy on: July 29, 2014, 02:45:19 PM
Is there an XC equivalent of https://www.bitaddress.org ??

I want to print off a few XC paper wallets and give them as gifts.

cheers.
That would be cool. How many coins can we do this with?

I suggested that 400+ pages back Wink You can build it yourself or find someone that can Cheesy and yeah it would not take more then 1 day of coding (but I can't)

But as always, it's safe to assume the team has this all planned out for launch

Someone interested in making this https://github.com/litecoin-project/liteaddress.org --->  https://liteaddress.org/ work with Xcurrency? Would be a great way to get wallets out to people without having them to registered @ exchange or download wallet. I suspect there to be people out in this community with to proper skills. Please Cheesy

Check out the thread here about a universal paper wallet generator.

Not sure how well it works or how secure it is.  I found it when doing a Google search. Smiley

Holy crap another massive dump.. A sad day indeed for XC. When will it end?

Why is it sad? Did you invest money that you can't afford to lose? Or just looking to make a quick buck?

No, just sad for XC in general as the lower it goes the longer the recovery. With all the great news recently it really should be double what it is today. Enough said.

I reckon.  Idk though. I'm not much of a market trader, but it seems so many people are emotional about their investments when they shouldn't be. Not saying that you are, but there seems to be a lot of emotion in here lately.

XC is already a great thing and will only get better. The price will follow.

Yes but you need to understand even if the gains are small people want to see some gains. Where we sit right now it looks ugly, though for us who bought in much more @90K it still does not look bad.
People have a tough time just "forgetting" about the coin for a half of year. To be honest, I have had TONS more success forgetting for a half of a year and then looking at price.

Then again many of those coins I had were all mined not bought. This, outside of LTC and BTC are the only coins I invested cash.

Good points. I have only mined coins, never bought any, and haven't sold any. I was lucky and got in early on mining XC and have a sizable bag.

I can understand the emotions, but even in investments where I have spent hard earned cash, I don't get emotional about it. Especially when they have the potential that XC does.

Maybe it's pookielax/Mr.Boh finally dumping the rest of his stash.

I hope so. Good riddance.

+1. I hope so too.

Mr. Boh is talking smack on Twitter again:

https://twitter.com/cryptoboh/status/491595053874569216

LOL, that post he screen-captured is a month old, he's really trying hard to smear XC.

Anyone more familiar with these matters care to address his tweet? Or should we just let it go?

That guy is a turd, just like his "pet clown" that posts here.  All they do is try and pump their current coin so they can make a buck.  They aren't investors, they are traders trying to manipulate the market.

On the 13th Mr. Boh was still pumping XC on twitter, and on the 14th started pumping another coin.

300!!

wtf i will be happy if i got an extra 20 coins in the next 4 weeks. I just started 3 days ago though after the news about Mintpal

I started mining 3 hours after launch.  Wish I could have gotten out of work early to switch my mining rig over sooner. Smiley

u must have a high coin count to accumulate that kind of interest in so little time Grin

My first PoS block was on 05/18/2014.  Two months ago today.  Damn, time does fly by. Wink

is your wallet unlocked 24/7?

Unlocked for staking only, yes.

I get staked coins multiple times a day.
