1681  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin What is the probability of 60 K+ again? on: January 12, 2023, 12:05:31 PM
2022 In 22 trade I have never had to accept so many losses since the advent of cryptocurrencies. Those who are mainly dependent on trade are now on the verge of destitution. Before 2022, it seems that trading has not suffered so much loss2022 is a cursed year for traders. If anyone has any idea on when bitcoin position will turn please share it will save many traders like me from losing.

Bear market is a very risky market for traders, if you have lost a lot and you know that it is tough to make a profit at the moment. I think you should stop and change your strategy so that you can make a profit instead of continuing to lose. If you switch to holding instead of trading for the time being, holding will give you the opportunity to recover your trading losses. I'm not saying you should give up trading but wait until the market is better, then come back and for now focus on holding that will be good for you.

I personally have great respect for Traders because I know it is not easy to make a successful trade. If you make once or twice it cannot be repeated. The average losses of many Traders are higher than the profits they make. My respect is for good Traders and professional Traders and not a mature traders like myself who would also lose some money even when there is a bull market.

Big respect for successful trader and not those people who came by when bull market hit since they are just joining the hype. Since to get those success is so amazing since the level of patience is so different compare to those normal investor. Maybe for start they lose a lot but for sure since they learn from there experiences they are earning consistently by trading according to the plan they develop.
1682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 12, 2023, 10:41:02 AM
These , Yeah you are good  in explaining those sides because people are solely interesting on how they claim this as scam while there are 2 sides to check on that matter because I have seen huge winning in Slot machine over the year but the problem is that in this? the involve amount is even higher than those lottery jackpot.

If it is a genuine machine malfunction, then I don't think that we can do much about it. Let's take an example where the slot machine malfunctioned and gave a winning of $10 trillion. Is it expected that the casino will still go ahead and transfer the amount to the winner? There is a maximum amount that can be won with these machines. If the machine malfunctions and rewards someone with an amount higher than this threshold, then the casino can't be held responsible. Because the gambler purchased the ticket perfectly understanding that the maximum possible winning can be up to a particular threshold.
If this is the case then the casino management should inform the players at that time and explain the matter in detail so that to avoid any misunderstanding and choas at the end.
Recently read a story about women who won huge amount and the casino called her next day to get the price money but next day they refused to pay and stuff so these things should be avoided and taken care off.

Provably they release some word about this issue to the public but I bet many people believe about what statement they release since its a unacceptable reason and the winner should be credited on her winnings because he just bet without using any abusive method.

Those reasons are just excuse because they don't want to pay the winner.
1683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 11, 2023, 11:49:45 PM
I came across a topic recently now on this very thread about a casino refusing to pay a woman ber jackpot winnings of over £35.4m and if you'll agree me that, this isn't a little sum of money to just ignore.

What got me worried isn't just the winning but why are casinos getting away without paying players their exactly winnings with some shitty excuses ?

Link to the post of the woman's winnings below
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5433888.0
Please I really want to understand this question and will be glad to hear from people

A thread? Or you mean trend? Maybe the reason why they came up with that situation is they cannot pay that huge amount of money won by their player. And if that case maybe this indicates that we need to pull out our money there since if they can't pay other peoples winning then provably it will happen to us or more worse they don't have  a plan since in the first place their target is to scam their users once they accumulate huge deposits in their casino.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just how bad is the bear market right now? on: January 11, 2023, 10:29:14 PM
Just how bad is the bear market right now?
Historically low prices have endured for a longer period of time in the present bear market cycle than in any other.
That was how the bull market also lasted for a longer time when investors were very happy to hold random projects that made some random persons a real crypto millionaires and billionaires. When should not be too pessimistic about the current market now because everything has different time to happen. This bear market had not even lasted for 2 complete years and some persons had been very confused when the bear wood ever end or not. There are so many fud in the market now and I still don't know why many investors had been so depressed about it.

That millionaire word creates wrong expectation on some people because from thinking about that they fall on scams since they bought a wrong token then hold it. Some alts didn't pump back again when bear market occur so choose those potential alts which have good community support since if you bought trash tokens then you will go broke with that.
1685  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the key to your success investing in bitcoin.. on: January 11, 2023, 12:06:48 PM
everyone definitely wants to be successful in investing, especially in bitcoin. and of course it is not easy to achieve success in investing, even though it sounds easy to invest in bitcoin, for example as follows:

: buy at a low price sell at a high price.

: must hold strong, and do not sell it when the price drops.

but in reality there are so many people who sell when the price drops, even though they have to take the risk of loss.

I, who don't have much experience in bitcoin, want to ask what is the key to your successful investment in bitcoin?
and I want to ask if you have ever experienced investment losses in bitcoin?

I hope my post is useful for me and all in this forum.

Consistency and strong belief on this coin, since without this you will not get any far because your expectation might not get achieved because learning bitcoin or crypto is a long process.

To many challenges always threaten us so instead of getting discourage about the negative effect of the market brought by dump we must think about in positive like thinking that this is the time to take our opportunity to dive in since we can buy and earn when price of those coins recover.

I don't think it's possible too unless there is an 0-day vulnerability in the browser app you are using or you allow the website to download fies on your device. In any case, it's always recommended not to use the device in which you store your important files and data to access random or unknown websites.
As long as you don't download files from unknown sources and don't click on suspicious links, you should be fine.
Having multiple device is really recommended since you can access anything you want to see on other device which doesn't have any stored important details so users should think also to have this for added security measure. To many harmful links scatter in internet and we don't know which of them is legitimate so to seek for the real especially the bonuses or promotion advertise by casino we must have this so that we can view the contents without worrying about those malwares.
Having multiple device isn't full proof, what's the use of it when most of the thing contains in it are the same then? You can have one or two device but things like private keys, passphrases, etc. should be kept in safe place/s and all accounts should have added security features like 2FA, utilizing multisig addresses and many more to add your account's security.

1 device is used for logging in your account on any platforms you shouldn't use this on clicking anything you don't know especially links coming from unknown source. Then the other device is for use for browsing with no account attached nor any important information saved for this you can be safe for the malwares this is just additional security measure on all of your account.

Katrina Bookman was playing the slots at the Resorts World Casino in Jamaica, Queens when she secured what would have been the largest slot machine jackpot in US history - $42,949,672 (£35.4m). She took a selfie with the machine to mark the moment, and later said her whole body went 'numb' when she saw the life-changing figure. Bookman was told to come back the next day to discuss her winnings, but when she asked an employee what she'd be walking away with, he responded: "You didn't win nothing." The New York State Gaming Commission said Bookman’s machine had malfunctioned, and that she'd actually won just $2.25 (£1.86).The machine had a disclaimer stating 'malfunctions void all pays and plays', and as a result the commission said that they were required by law to give Bookman only what she'd actually won.

Some Casinos are just plain fraudulent. So this woman visited a casino, play slot and won $43million. She took a selfie with the amount displayed on the machine. The casino saw it and told her to return the next day so they could talk about the winnings. Next day she returned. Story changed. She was told the machine had malfunctioned and therefore it was what was responsible for the winnings. They went ahead to offer her a complimentary steak dinner. I got so livid reading this story.

Isn't this just the stupidest reason not to give her her winnings?
Couldn't they have known that their so-called machine was faulty before letting gamblers use it?
How could they do this to her?

This is the sickest thing I heard and I don't know what the woman thinking about getting settled for just a steak dinner or she really settle with it. If the casino didn't settle the winnings of their clients then they are total bullshit since they are wreck this one should be abandon by the gambler since they can't pay the winning of other winner. Also if I where the winner I will seek for the medias help if I have solid proof that I win in their casino.
1689  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottom of the Bear Market...let's accumulate!! on: January 10, 2023, 12:20:51 PM
I'm still trying to collect more bitcoins until now.
I want to keep collecting it until the price starts increasing to at least $30k and then I'm going to stop and look at the situation again.
We also have to see how long we can continue to buy bitcoins because we also have to look at our situation and financial condition.
And remember never to use money you can't afford to lose because that is the basics of investing.

Good decision to accumulate since we can see more better figures if we base on past data's where it shows that bitcoin will always go pump up when something like halving events will nearly came. But let see if us accumulators on bear market season will be lucky if there is a bull run came. But if not still fine at least we try our luck to gain by spending some time waiting for halving miracle.
1690  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans are once again quitting their jobs at a growing rate on: January 10, 2023, 09:57:00 AM
I wonder why people are quitting their jobs? I know the most reason would be due to low salary, but how can they survive if they're not working? I think any people will accept any jobs even though how low the salary is, rather than become unemployed and doesn't earn anything. So IMO, they've already find a job that paid very well in private, which is like a programmer where they got paid with Bitcoin and they have a chance to publish it, so the government think they're not working, but the truth they're working in their home.

Not a good reason to quit since crisis still occuring and they will go broke if they quit without having an alternative profit source. To many people accepting low salary jobs at the moment just to survive the ongoing crisis and maybe this kind of incident maybe a part of protest to the government to do something related to this issues. But all of this are just temporary since those guys will find job after they realized that they cannot do anything with these issues and they in badly need of money.

Use unique, strong passwords are good because if they are weak, they can be bruteforced but don't store your passwords in email, any account, on any server.
Are your passwords in the green?

LastPass has data breach and other password manager softwares can have data breaches too.

The password should be combination of words, letters, numbers and character we all know but it should be kept safely without any carelessness because if someone else got your access your fund will be gone.We should be responsible in these matters and if you are having password manager goes with trusted one only.

It should be suggested by the platform thru registration so thag their new user will be aware about getting a strong password so that they not get easily hacked by some people who want to stole their money. And maybe its better not to use any platform that promise to save our password or important information so that we will not experience any bad things once those platform got a problem, always write up your details on a page of book, notebook or anything that you can handle offline since this is much safer to us.
1692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Cassino Continue With Wagering Requirements, If Abuse is Eliminated? on: January 09, 2023, 10:07:46 PM
Even if abuses or cheats made by players are eliminated, there's no way that a casino will stop doing wagering contests and other bonuses because that's already part of their long term plan.

They have a budget allocated for it and that will make more players to come.

It's encouraging as a player to see such wagering contests and bonuses if the requirements weren't that much or even it's just a free spin as a reward, many will participate and are happy with that.

They are just subjecting themselves to abuse if they will not put some conditions with their bonuses.
They are operating in cyberspace so expect that a lot of fraudsters or scammers will try their hands on if there will be no requirements at all.
The business can easily go down if they will not secure their business first.
Remember, scammers don't care if they will siphon all the money of a certain site, as long as they can pocket some money.
So don't think that casinos will remove their requirements or conditions with their bonuses.
Yeah, that's one concern but if they've been running giveaways and contests for a long time. They're aware of those things and sure made some barriers to avoid those possible abuses that might be done to them.

I'm not thinknig about the requirements, what I'm saying is about that they'll keep on running even if they've entirely removed the possible abuse on their end by those users that are there to siphon their giveaway budgets.

Most of the time new casino has been the target of this abuser so no problem with this will occur on old reputable casino since for sure they know how to deal the possible abuse that will come to their platform and maybe put some measure so that they cam assure that people claim it are legitimate players who regularly play at their platform. Maybe newly launch casino should learn from big casino so that they will not encounter this and face a huge problem since this could ruin or bad feedback if they fail to attain those issues.
1693  Economy / Gambling / Re: chinese bookmakers with tf gaming platform NO KYC on: January 09, 2023, 02:13:56 PM
That's the appeal of a casino where casinos will use various ways to attract the interest of gamblers and people who don't understand how gambling works. And the casinos have successfully invited these young gamblers to return to the casinos because they provide various promotions that will entice them to deposit their money again. Well, it's unfortunate, but we also can't do anything because it's their responsibility to keep their money in gambling. Casinos only provide entertainment for them, and the rest is up to them.
Even though gambling or betting is actually their right, but myself, if I find out that there is a teenager who is starting to be active in gambling, I will actually give advice and directions to be able to reduce or just limit the gambling they do.
Actually I feel sad when I see a teenager gambling, those who are supposed to be studying are starting to get addicted to gambling.
I have heard a lot about teenagers who are addicted to gambling to the point where they have large enough debt that some sell their parents' house to pay off debts and can continue to play or bet.
And hopefully, we are not too late in giving advice and directions to teenagers who are starting to gamble actively because, usually at their age, they tend to find it difficult to accept suggestions and directions from other people because they want to be recognized as someone who can control themselves. We have to be smart in finding ways so they can take it well and start doing what we suggest to them. I am sad to see teenagers gambling, but I can't force them to stop and stay away from gambling unless their parents ask them to stop. Teenagers should think more about their lives and try to prepare themselves to face the challenges that will come in the future.
That's why I pity and care more for those who are still teenagers when they spend their teenage life and are addicted to the world of gambling.
It is indeed very difficult to be able to give advice or advice to someone who is crazy about gambling, whether he is a teenager or even an adult.
Because gambling itself is an activity that can really make a person lose awareness that this can make him regret it later on, although there are indeed some gambling enthusiasts who have managed to change their lives and can make gambling their job.
But there aren't many, just a few, and even then because they can do everything they can to win a gambling game and it takes a long time to become truly skilled at gambling.
Even if their parents forbade gambling, they would not be able to make a teenager stop, unless of their own free will.
That's why if we have children growing up, we must be careful to advise them so they don't get angry or take offence at us. This also depends on how parents educate their children. I'm sure if parents always accompany their children from childhood to adulthood, even until they get married, their children will not take the wrong path. Their children will follow their parents' advice and not try to gamble because they already know the consequences.

But if their children are already familiar with gambling and their parents know about it, they should approach them as parents who care about their children and not let them sink into solitude. Being a parent is not easy because their children's lives depend on how well parents can educate them.

Still depends on how parents handle some certain situation while their child grow up because if they wrongly guide them by letting their children get what they want and didn't correct the mistake they take for sure those kind of child will grow as entitled person since they always think they are right. This is one of the reason why its really better at early stage that they realize about the mistake they do is so wrong and they need to do something to fix it to make them more mature and properly balance some situation especially on things thay can cause them harm like this gambling and other more risky things.
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best altcoin to look out for on: January 09, 2023, 11:15:03 AM
Well for me the best altcoin to look out for in 2023 is Ethereum and Cardano. I hodl some of each but most important I believe in Ethereum for the dapps and I am waiting for Cardano to release the new stable coin Djed.
I think Ethereum has some real chances of a big opportunity for profit for its holders. It is still number 2 on coinmarketcap with close to $153 billion marketcap and I think after this 'bear market' becomes to a end that we will get to experience great gains along with Bitcoin.
Both ethereum and cardano are good coins, and it is possible we could get to witness some sort of recovery during this year, but in my opinion the recovery will be on the low side, as there are many people that are desperate and that will sell their coins at the first sign of a recovery.

For this reason it is important to keep our expectations in check and think of this year as a transition year, in which we move away from the bear market and we get closer to the bull market as the halving is coming during the next year.
It's important not to have too high expectations because we have to realize that in transition we have to be patient,
the bear market is likely to continue and so better take advantage of this time to collect potential coins,
what is clear is that recovery will not go quickly so stay tuned for what will happen later.

Personal settlement towards what the target we set or be contented on profits we got is one of the best traits good to have by a trader since if they expect more then worst they became greedy then this will be the start of our destruction on trading. We just need to know our limitation especially if we are not a whale and always put it on our minds that whenever we already in profits much better to secure it than waiting for another pump and dump will came since this scenario will be stressful to us.
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is The Gambling Industry Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market on: January 07, 2023, 12:06:52 PM
Gambling is not a wallet saving coins even centralized exchanges are not recommended to save assets for the long term, including custodial wallets should be selected open source wallet applications are recommended to avoid wallet access vulnerabilities, but I believe no gamblers save on gambling platforms and only balances it is used for gambling according to the respective funds limit.

People do save over there and something they do that because of accumulative gambling which they involved themselves in. They keep gambling until they reached a certain goal that they set for themselves before they withdraw. Generally people enjoy using centralized platforms to store their coins as there's still a large percentage of people storing their coins on exchange and other not so friendly platforms like casinos.

Some gamblers keep funds on casinos to avoid expenses of transaction fees or delay in crediting their betting account since some betters enjoy placing bet on live games so they have to I have their funds always available to ensure they can easily place those bet.

It would be fine if they kept a small amount of coins because you never know what will happen to the casino. It is true that we can avoid spending transaction fees which may be repeated many times, making some gamblers keep their coins in exchanges and casinos. And it will not affect the casino business by the impact on the exchange because gamblers will continue to gamble even though the market is as unstable as it is today. Moreover, gamblers also have a choice of many coins that they can use to gamble.

If you deposit your money on casino you should take it as a loss already so that you will not get pressured about other possibilities. That's why there's an advice that gamble the amount you can afford to lose since we can make this as a basis for not getting hurt when bad times happen.

But if the amount is huge and that one is your hard earned money much better if you do regular withdrawal especially if you are already in the winning side.

I must say I play more at other sites these because they have more/bigger promotions.
But nonetheless I hope 1xbit continue the way they treat me, because ultimately it benefits customers if there are more/competitive casino's out there.

You don't have credibility to say that since we understand that you want to hype this casino. Only who have history on participating on their sig campaign are vouching them so this claims doesn't change anything. If many forum members without any track record for participating their sig campaign will vouch them and no problem will happen to them again maybe we can say that 1xbit change but for now we see this as not worthy casino and need to avoid by newbies.
1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDC is not safe on: January 06, 2023, 10:25:02 PM
the thing I see clearly is how binance has a stable coin that is BUSD. i think it would be great to divert our assets in BUSD as it is clear in its reserves with binance from any stable coin. I think that's enough of how we should trust it as a safe stable coin.
Though i don’t need to use Binance Stable Coin (BUSD) but i little bit trust it because of Binance exchange but now i don’t believe any stable coin especially centralized stable coins. Spreading a lot of FUD in BNB after collapsed FTT, So i think you also shouldn’t considering 100% safe in stable coins even BUSD.

Not even binance can get my 100% trust since any of those stable coin has possibilities to collapsed so better be more careful on holding it and always follow some crypto medias or even became more active here to know the latest updates about those coins. If there's controversy happening for sure there's someone will keep us an update regarding on current situation.

Great start by Bay Area, they seem to keep this game close, even without their import, they are still competing very well against the Gin Kings. They definitely have a chance to win here, but they should keep their composure especially in the 4th quarter where they usually choked.

Japeth was the missing link, here, let's see if he can contribute with better numbers.

End of the first half and the Gin Kings is up by 8 points.

If this trend continues, Bay Area Dragons will lose this game as they are reduced to a jump shooting team and no plays down low where they can fish for a foul which they were crying for while Cstand and Justine Brownlee wreak havoc the middle which the Dragons hard a hard time stopping.

With what a witnessed in the first half, i already accepted that i'll lose my bet.  Sad

It turns out this was a trap. Ginebra will lose this game, and the series will be 2-2.
I think they want to extend this series, we will probably see a game 7 here and there's also a big chance that Bay Area will win the championship.

A great way to rig the series, LOL.. more games means more money for the league.

Seems like the league is very much manipulated, look at what Bay area players claiming that ref calls are being manipulated and they got penalty for stating their sentiments regarding to that so that they will shut up. There' no free speech there so not surprising to see that they will stretch that series since this is damn business. I'm not surprised if Ginebra will win since this could bring hype to the fans compare if Bay Area Dragons will win the champ this season.
1699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people store their cryptocurrency on exchanges? on: January 06, 2023, 11:19:07 AM
I am in the process of purchasing a Ledger Nano offline wallet and it got me thinking about why people store their digital assets on crypto exchanges.

These exchanges are susceptible to hacking, insolvency/bankruptcy, misuse of customer funds (FTX) etc.

What would happen if Binance got hacked tomorrow and lost the majority of its cryptocurrency? Would they be able to reimburse customers or would they become insolvent?

I asked my close group of friends how many store their assets on exchanges and only 1 out of 6 uses an offline wallet.

The recent incident with Luke Dashjr confirms that you are always at risk of being hacked no matter how vigilant you are.

Will give my thoughts on the Ledger Nano once I receive it.

If Binance will get hack and all of the funds successfully stolen by hackers with no chance of getting it back, well we can say that this will be the end of their business and another series of crying depositor which they cannot get back their money. Its just the same with FTX since for sure they cannot pay all of their depositor since that's a lot of money need to take care on.

Why people store their cryptocurrency in exchange? Some of them are to lazy to take out their money because they always think its better to do that since they will still go trade tomorrow or on next several months. And there are other who doesn't want to get deducted by fees.
1700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing national lottery smart or waste of time? on: January 06, 2023, 10:21:50 AM
Thoughts?
I know someone who won a National Lottery and had to quit his job and relocate for safety reasons, of course you know it changed his life for him for him to consider safety. I know it is a very slim chance to win and be the lucky person out of the mass of persons that apply for it, but who knows if that is where your luck will be. If playing the lottery will not affect you, you can just try your luck with it, and give it a shot. Playing the lottery may not be smart, but it is not a waste of time.

You only need small amount of money to try your luck on lottery so if you feel to bet and nothing harm will happen to you then why not? Its really good to try since you will not get a chance if you not try right? But I cannot call it a waste of time since even if there's no much activities but still the excitement are still there waiting for the result to come at the end of the day.
