1681  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin good for the economy? on: February 21, 2020, 01:06:04 AM
People still prefer fiat, they still prefer transactions through banks, Bitcoin may be convenient in our remarks but with the worldwide number, its placement is probably not too high when too many restrictions and prices change too randomly, and this will answer that bitcoin is not so good for an economy when viewed globally. But if we look at the individual level, perhaps too many numbers help us know that bitcoin can create a huge amount of wealth for an individual, but it is not entirely true, Bitcoin is only good for individuals who are qualified to use Bitcoin as a tool

It is not that they prefer it, they don't have a choice.

Online stores from merchants are not accepting Bitcoin because of the fact that they are scared of what it can do harm to them. From scams and its volatility, they would just stick with what they are used to pay with. I guess it would be different if Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are regulated but I don't think people would be liking that.
1682  Economy / Economics / Re: GOLD and BITCOIN: What is their similarities? on: February 20, 2020, 12:21:37 PM
It is said that these two are the same store of value though a lot of people are saying Bitcoin isn't.

As Bitcoin is being mined by the solving continuous algorithms, Gold is being mined by well, digging. Bitcoin and Gold are almost the same, people usually call Bitcoin as the gold of cryptocurrencies. Though there are a lot of differences, the most common is that Gold has a higher chance of reliability than Bitcoin in terms of investing.
1683  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin good for the economy? on: February 20, 2020, 11:13:02 AM
The main advantage of Bitcoin is fast transactions. It will let the economy to gain its potential and evolve. Being hard to earn is also among the pros because it makes Bitcoin valuable and accepted.

Despite that fast transactions, people don't usually use Bitcoin.

Also, I think it will not make the economy develop or evolve but with the help of blockchain technology, it might be of help in a way for the country. It is valuable but that doesn't really matter since as long as a small population is using it in the country, it will not matter at all.
1684  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why not decentralized exchange..? on: February 20, 2020, 10:23:13 AM
A lot of people will be favoring it but there is a problem.

Despite the demand for them wanting a decentralized exchange, investors and traders still go to popular exchanges because of the fact that a lot of cryptocurrencies can be traded their and be sold quickly. You can't just go to an exchange that still did not build up popularity for that site, and you never know how long will be your sell queued up in there.
1685  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I fail in trading on: February 20, 2020, 04:04:32 AM
I agree with you because if you attend a good group you will get a lot of information from there and there are many big business people who can learn from them You will have to work hard so that there is no risk to the business and there is less chance of being born.

I think working hard is the risk of itself.

Volatility and other risks that come with cryptocurrencies are not the only risks you are taking, there are still these risks that you might not know. Working hard is an example since it is a risk for your physical health or mental health. You can't invest in something without risk, I mean anything that you put your money in is a risk, that is why we learn to manage these risks.
1686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: The Social Phenomenon on: February 20, 2020, 03:22:25 AM
A social phenomenon that I don't think has been fully studied yet. But on the other hand, the appearance of bitcoin is very important not only for the financial but also for the social sphere.

But there are a lot of times that it is getting destroyed.

A lot of hacking and scams, talking about scams, I just watched a video about Onecoin and this Dr. Ruja behind it that is said that will take Bitcoin down. Just imagine the damage they did with the people that might invest in cryptocurrencies and the ones that already invested in it and said to lose 250K euro.
1687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does Regulation really means? on: February 20, 2020, 01:43:45 AM
As far as I know, regulation is what you've said to him.

It is allowed to be used in the country but in terms of security, I think they are also helping these people. Despite the experience of my mutual friend in the past where police do not know what to do with her report, they told her that they can't do anything with it. But still, there are a lot of criminals that are caught even though they are using cryptocurrencies. They might not completely track a transaction but still, they can find a way to track down scammers and hackers.
1688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Assess your gambling addiction level. on: February 20, 2020, 12:33:00 AM
I'm in-between level 0 and level 1.

I just gamble for fun but not that I forget it. I could gamble every day but I could say that I am not spending my money but just my time. I can say that I am just killing my boredom since I am just gambling using the satoshis I am getting from gambling sites. Though I am a level 1 too since a lot of strategies are flashing in my mind and I am trying them with those free satoshis I am getting.
1689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would make you stop gambling? on: February 19, 2020, 12:46:07 PM
are there any things in life that would make you stop gambling?

the two things that come to my mind are:
- making enough or a lot of money.
- finding a passion (even relationshiprelated or life/activity related) that changes your priorities.

but can you see other things than that?
Have enough money to stops gambling because the main reason why people are involved in gambling are they need money, gambling is the best way to get money once you gonna win. So many people are gambling in that situation. So they're have enough money I think they stop in gambling.

I don't think so.

It is true though that a lot of people are gambling for the money that they can get out of gambling, it is a high risk, high return situation. But if a gambler have a lot of money, there is no doubt that it will stop him from gambling. I think that could be the worse scenario especially if that gambler is addicted to gambling.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: process vs outcome on: February 19, 2020, 11:49:02 AM
I think I am with the process.

I am not addicted to gambling to be honest but I keep on coming back since I really love to find out how would I be able to get a strategy that would fit my betting style and obviously, the balance that I have. To reduce the way that I am a bit expecting from those bets, I visit gambling sites with faucets so I don't really have a money to spend but my time to waste keeping on doing a certain strategy in a day. The outcome is not that bad but the process, well, it is not something you will be proud of but something that you will be tired of but I keep on doing it since sometimes it is exciting especially if I am getting a good outcome.
1691  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin good for the economy? on: February 19, 2020, 10:50:13 AM
I think it will not be the same as money.

As the Bitcoin that we have now, it is a store of value, well it depends on how that person look at it. A lot of investors are holding it thinking that it will be something good to sell in the future. If that will always be the case with it, I don't think it would be as good as you think of in the future. It will be expensive probably but not be something that could be used in the country regularly.
1692  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency usage will boost economy or make it worst ? on: February 19, 2020, 10:12:47 AM
I can't imagine that cryptocurrency usage may have such a big influence on the world economy. I consider it as a result of the developed economy.

Earning them though is a different question.

In a way, cryptocurrencies people have in their wallet that they got from projects and bounties can help the economy. It will not boost the economy but it can be of a help in a way. These days, usage of cryptocurrencies are not that helpful since these exchange are just accepting Bitcoin and they just convert that to fiat to pay that certain platform.
1693  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A good advice for every traders. on: February 19, 2020, 09:17:37 AM
It is important for investors to remind always, as a crypto member, it is always our moral obligation to at least help each other as we also don't want someone to be a victim of scam or any kinds of fraud.  We've been there before and with the help of other people, we learned, if not for other people maybe we are still investing in new projects, trying and trying our best.

That is the reason why we should be sharing some of those here.

A lot of people are creating a thread here about these scams so investors should be wary of the dangers they have in investing in cryptocurrency. Another thing is that it is common in this market so we should be extra careful. As an investor, before we put our money into risk, we should know what risks are we taking that is why I am always talking about investors should always read and never stop gaining more knowledge about this.
1694  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: to be able to get a large profit in today's trading is very difficult! on: February 19, 2020, 12:49:30 AM
Still, some of them are good to hold.

Not all of them but some of them. We can't ensure a good profit in the future in other cryptocurrencies but there are some that can give you a profit like Bitcoin. Predictions are hard but we try our best since we already know that it is a risk.
I hope in the near future the cryptocurrency will be more stable and the control market will work almost the same as the stock market or the currency market.

I really hope that it would happen.

There are a lot of whales in our market and they don't usually trade Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, they are holding it. I think that is also a reason why it is hard for it to have a profit. The liquidity of cryptocurrencies is getting low, unlike stocks where the liquidity of assets is so high. Also, with a lot of cryptos to choose from, I think it will always be hard.
1695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mail Bombing in exchange of Bitcoin on: February 18, 2020, 12:08:39 PM
I don't understand if they are pro-Bitcoin or anti-Bitcoin.

They are destroying the image Bitcoin has, not just Bitcoin but all of the cryptocurrencies as a whole. This is worse than being scammed out of your money or cryptocurrencies. The people will hate it and the government will obviously make a policy or limitations about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies for sure, I hope no one gets hurt from this.
1696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They want your Bticoin. Don't fall for this new scam, it's too real on: February 18, 2020, 10:54:53 AM
I very much hope that the time will come when the cryptocurrency will be legalized worldwide and any fraudulent actions will be prosecuted.  In general, in order to achieve this goal and to obtain a good result in the search for justice, each cryptocurrency user will need to identify himself and his cryptocurrency state.  But there are always pros and cons in our lives and we must set priorities ourselves.

When a cryptocurrency is legalized in a country, that is enough.

The problem here is that how could the government identify the criminal. That would be really hard since we all know that Bitcoin users are anonymous. That is the reason why we should be able to identify a scam on our own. My mutual friend has experience out of it and the police are not really interested on what she's reporting to them since they will not be able to track them without information to that individual.
1697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do some gamblers actually win? on: February 18, 2020, 04:39:05 AM
I can confidently say that there are gamblers that actually won.

From dice games, sports bettings, cockfighting to lotteries, I knew a lot of people that gained their profit there. It is just that people are continuously betting, what I am saying here is that if a gambler continuously gambles, the more they are losing money. If a gambler continuously gambles, the higher the risk they are taking, the higher the chance they will lose.

Most of those gamblers I am saying won in lotteries and in cockfighting. They started businesses from the money they've won. Some started raising roosters that they could use or sell. Did they continue gambling? Yes, they did but the fact that they already built something proves they won.
1698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Leave gambling, if it destroys you. on: February 16, 2020, 11:14:58 AM
Its because they feel fun and satisfaction while playing gambling even if they are losing.

Who would be satisfied with losing your money in gambling?

If that is happening to me I would immediately stop. It is not that easy to do that but I know when to stop, and for me that is important. I've been bringing a certain amount of money when gambling and I always check on that so that I can ensure that it is a good day or a bad day.
1699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health 🤕symptoms on: February 16, 2020, 09:51:27 AM
Obviously no.

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not medicine nor something people would use to stop their addictions. Though it may not be that of help, it could be one of your reasons to stop your addiction. You could try to invest your money in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and keep yourself busy with it. I am not pushing you to do it since one of the steps to stop your addiction is finding another thing to eat up your time. That way you could focus on other things and reduce your time in gambling.
1700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: February 16, 2020, 09:00:39 AM
Spoiler alert.  Grin

So Jones Jr. won the dunk contest but it looks questionable to some of the analyst.
Well, it is the judges decision so that should be respected.

IMO, Jones Jr already won it before the tie breaker.
It is just that, the judges are so kind to give too much 10's at the scoreboard.
Next time, they should prepare two trophies just in case something like that happens again.
They are both really good. I was shocked with how much they defy gravity, literally.  Grin

I thought that AG will be getting that trophy now.

AG will not be joining the competition again, they are both great players but I think AG is a bit bitter about this loss, is it me or he's really that desperate to win? BTW, here's an article about one of the judges, Common saying that they thought that this contest will be tied.
