1701  Local / Русский (Russian) / Re: [ЛOГ] Пoльзoвaтeли, пoвыcившиe cвoй paнг - Пoздpaвлeния! on: December 10, 2018, 04:10:54 PM

Full Member.

Cool

1702  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: December 10, 2018, 03:12:52 PM
Weekly update.

bitmover has received enough merits for ranking up to Hero Member but he doesn't have sufficient activity.

friends1980 who is active in the dutch local board has become a Senior Member this week.

ovcijisir and igor72 who are mostly active in croatian and russian local boards respectively have reached a Full Member level.

LV5ME, NeMWagneR and JagerBeen have ranked up to Full Members, but in my opinion, they look like merit abusers receiving 50 merits for clearly garbage posts in one transaction from red tagged accounts.

Congratulations on ranking up to all honest users! Cool

Pretty sure this is the thread you are looking for iasenko. This has users who have hit the activity required but are lacking up to 20% of the required merit.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5024849.0
Thanks man, so many threads that I got lost at the end. I thought that this was the one but apparently it is not.
Apologies for spamming OP's thread, good work you have done here.

Another thread with a ranking-up pipe line of members:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4839318.0

It seems that vphasitha01 does not update his thread very often. Nikisa's thread is always up to date.
1703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fallacies all the time on: December 09, 2018, 01:12:34 PM
I don't know where people get the predictions they make about cryptocurrency and the base of their description. Early and middle of this year 2018, all we could read was how bitcoin will be $40,000 in December and how Ethereum will hold multiple value of a single bitcoin. All those times, I just wonder where all the craps were coming from.
Some people will just wake up at the comfort of their bed and come on the forum or any other platform and to make their wish appear like they have seen something that makes it possible for their wish to be a valid prescription and many newbies fall for it which results in them losing a whole lots of their hard earn money.

Every small or large investor is responsible for his/her financial decisions. Bitcoin holders who bought very cheap coins a several years ago decided to sell their crypto currencies and gain a profit. Now the bubble burst. A successful trader had to sell his/her crypto currencies or tokens before the crash is happening on exchange markets. The current times are really tough, so crypto holders are suffering losses.
1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH continues to decline? on: December 09, 2018, 12:40:50 PM
I think that the current declining is not a problem of Ethereum alone. All altcoins have dropped very deep to $90. Honestly, I did not expect such a brutal crash of crypto exchange markets. Now almost all prices on CoinMarketCap are green, and ETH looks good, growing +4%. Long live Ethereum! Cheesy
1705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why does ETH go down each time BTC goes down? on: December 09, 2018, 12:16:54 PM
Do you think that someday ETH price movement can be separate from Bitcoin's?

Almost every altcoin is traded to Bitcoin. Crypto exchanges always create pairs ETH to BTC. Usually traders create the bid or ask orders estimated in BTC coins and such a way they define the balance of demand and supply valued in Bitcoin. That's why the general direction of the global crypto currency market often correlates with the direction of the BTC price movement. Of course, this is a rough estimate.

Sometimes the ETH price is separated from the BTC price. For example, Bitcoin has significantly grown compared to all altcoins this September because large investors were expecting Bitcoin ETF approval by the US SEC.
1706  Economy / Economics / Re: Who thinks that current situation has to do something with mining? on: December 09, 2018, 11:57:28 AM
As you see guys, price falls and falls, that's very bad we all know and it's not something we want but it keeps falling.
This fall was also sudden and somehow very suprising not only for me but maybe for you too.
Do any of you think that it has something common with mining? As you see a lot of miners just gave up and left bitcoin mining, not only this...
Imagine following: There are giant miners like bitmain, bitfury and so on... What about if they want to create monopoly? Once for example 20% of miners will leave mining, they'll fill this 20% and more by new and improved equipment which they won't release for a while and make it almost nonsense for others to start mining with currently publicly available miners.
P.S Don't call me crazy...

No, you're not crazy. Some miners are really starting to sell their mining equipment due to falling prices of crypto currencies.

I'm really scared of where these ASICs will be used in the future. Perhaps some criminals will buy a lot of such cheap processors and successfully complete a 51% attack on the blockchain.

Undoubtedly, only strongest mining pools will survive in these tough times.
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO AND FIAT MONEY BEST COMBINATION on: December 09, 2018, 11:44:03 AM
Cryptocurrency and fiat money don't has intrinsic value, so the combination of cryptocurrency and fiat money will not give significant advantage. In term of comparison, cryptocurrency is better than fiat money because cryptocurrency is faster, safer and tye cost for maintain it is lower than fiat money. Cryptocurrency should be combined with something which has intrinsic value like gold or silver. We should reduce the usage of fiat then start to use bitcoin as the main of medium of exchange which and also pretend it as representative of gold.

Gold and silver are precious metals but they are not used in real industry, so their intrinsic value can be speculated and manipulated on markets. As I can see, the prices of gold and silver are slightly falling month by month, therefore rich people prefer to invest in more profitable assets.

In my opinion, it is almost impossible to replace national fiat currencies with crypto currencies, but these types of currencies can be combined and diversified. Crypto currencies might be useful for individuals from all over the world to make cheap and secure transactions from one country to another country.

It should be noted that nowadays many people use the Lightning Network. In fact, this technology is based on the fulfillment of the mutual obligations of two owners of BTC coins.
1708  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-05]Eagle's Eye: Bitcoin to Stabilize Between $2,000 - $3,000, Experts S on: December 09, 2018, 11:07:44 AM
I believe that if the bitcoin stabilize lest say in $2500 it will be seen as more trustworthy and the governments will surely start accepting it because they don't like the instability or the speculation.

Seriously? Going by your logic, why didn't governments consider Bitcoin to be "trustworthy" when it maintained its position above $6000 for such a long period of time? Bitcoin was so stable, that the degree of volatility reached near all time lows. People were even in the process of referring to Bitcoin as a stablecoin. Great time it was to use it as money.

Bitcoin really looked like a stable crypto currency from March to November 2018. In my opinion, the large BTC holders realized that the US SEC would not approve a Bitcoin ETF in the foreseeable future due to the reasons they published in their report. Therefore investors have decided to lower the BTC price so as not to feed the Bitcoin miners.

I believe that the current crash of crypto exchange markets was ignited by forking Bitcoin Cash and creating Bitcoin SV. Although it was probably just a pretext for selling a huge amount of coins and tokens.

$2000 is too pessimistic prediction for Bitcoin price.
1709  Local / Русский (Russian) / Re: [TOП-200] Пoльзoвaтeли, у кoтopыx мнoгo зapaбoтaнныx sMERIToв on: December 07, 2018, 04:52:04 AM

Cheesy

Smiley
1710  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] Members who have a lot of earned sMerits on: December 07, 2018, 04:31:21 AM
Since the new dump of merit transactions has already been published a few hours ago, I updated my post on the first page.

These users are banned and cannot distribute sMerits:

Hal, laszlo, TERA2, pitipawn, niknik1966, zentdex, SeverusSnegg, wex.nz, oracleongoodbye.

Thanks for the information. I checked them on the BPIP service made by Vod. It seems that most of them have only been locked. I added zentdex, wex.nz and oracleongoodbye to the list of banned users.

a list of members who have but do not give merits to others.

I think you maybe need to rephrase this. There are people on that list like hilariousetc and DdmrDdmr who have given away hundreds of merits, but because they have earned so many they still have lots available to give. You can't really say that people who are on the list of most generous merit givers of all time are also on the list of people who do not give merit.

You're right. hilariousetc and DdmrDdmr earned and distributed a lot of merits. Therefore I edited this sentence. I added the word "immediately".

Maybe OP needs to put one more column with "Last Active:"
Most of the top haven't been online for quite some time and probably will not come back, like Satoshi and Hal.

satoshi, Hal, laszlo, GameKyuubi are ones of the most famous persons in the cryptocurrency world. I think that there is no need to mark their current inactivity on the forum.

The only thing that Op can do is:

[Received merits(-1 if odd number)/2] - Sent merits = merits on Bags.

Yes he needs to put -1, since every 2 merits we have 1 merit generated and we can't have 0.5 merit on bags.

I use the following formula:

Code:
AVAILABLE_sMERITS = floor(RECEIVED_MERITS / 2) - SENT_MERITS

"floor()" is a mathematical function:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floor_and_ceiling_functions

floor(1 merit / 2) = floor(0.5 merit) = 0 merit
floor(2 merit / 2) = floor(1 merit) = 1 merit

How is the "max" calculated?

"Max" is the all-time high of the amount of sMerits a user has ever had. It is a peak value of the chart.

It’s a rather "unfair" list in my opinion in relation to the objective ("list of members who have but do not give merits to others"), penalizing the greatest Receivers who may in turn be some of the greatest Senders. The list also shows people with barely available 20-30 sMerits, which is not that much really.

Obviously, your merit distribution policy is even and fair. I think that it is normal to have some reserve of sMerits.

600.000      sMerits Initial Airdrop
-274.008     sent sMerits (Merit Sources and regular forum members)
+137.000    Min estimate generated (first halving taken to its maximum theoretical degree, and not accounting for all the other halvings which I cannot estimate)
--------------------------------------------
462.992   Total unsent sMerits (*)

This is really a huge amount of unsent sMerits.

1712  Local / Русский (Russian) / [TOП-200] Пoльзoвaтeли, у кoтopыx мнoгo зapaбoтaнныx sMERIToв on: December 05, 2018, 07:21:39 PM
Meta.

Code:
НАЛИЧНЫЕ_sMERITы = floor(ПОЛУЧЕННЫЕ_МЕРИТЫ / 2) - ОТПРАВЛЕННЫЕ_МЕРИТЫ

Источник изображения: globallookpress.com

1714  Other / Meta / [TOP-200] Members who have a lot of earned sMerits on: December 05, 2018, 06:59:24 PM
In my thread "TOP-200 most generous users giving merits" the merit source chimk was interested in a table ordered by a reverse index, i.e. in a list of members who have but do not give merits to others immediately.

That's why I created this TOP-200 which uses the "Available sMerits" index instead of the "Generosity" index. It is calculated by the following formula:

Code:
AVAILABLE_sMERITS = floor(RECEIVED_MERITS / 2) - SENT_MERITS

This index can be less than zero if a user was credited with airdropped sMerits on the day the merit system is introduced, on January 24, 2018. For accuracy, it is needed to add the amount of these sMerits to the "Available sMerits" index, but I will not yet take in consideration the airdropped sMerits.

I am not surprised that the current leaders of this TOP-200 are the founder of the forum satoshi and the administrator of the forum theymos. Undoubtedly, their contribution to the cryptocurrency community is great, so many members send them merits for their useful posts. In addition, theymos_away is a generous merit source, and the account of satoshi is inactive for a long time. In any case, I think that it is not bad if members keep their sMerits.

These sMerits are in safety!

The following TOP-200 uses the scheme which is similar to "TOP-200 most generous users", but the table below shows user name, then the amount of received merits, then the amount of sent merits and the "Available sMerits" index. The currently red tagged members will be marked in italic, permanently banned users will be strikelined.

1715  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Default trust system still working/active? on: December 05, 2018, 06:15:58 PM
I recently analyzed the Marketplace Trust network and created this thread:
[TOP-200] The most trusted members (DT1, DT2, DT3)

I am sure that the Default Trust system is still working. I am also astonished by how many inactive members are in the DT2 list.

  • With some exceptions like alt accounts the last account added on DT2 list is the number 881377 @Hhampuz

As far as I know, the last account added to the DT2 list is iluvbitcoins.

Anyways, good work, @OP.

By the way, I need to update my thread, although there are no significant changes.
BitcoinSV on: December 02, 2018, 06:57:44 PM

Bitcoin ABC:
https://bitcoinabc.org/

Bitcoin SV:
https://bitcoinsv.io/

1717  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] Members who support newbies - Thanks! on: December 02, 2018, 06:25:49 PM
Recurrent update. Another 273 meritless users became Jr. Members. Total 4773 newbies have been supported for now.

A shining example of the efficacy of the merit system: a for sale, negatively trusted, farming account enabling a motley array of shitposters to carry signatures by awarding them the Golden first merit.

#SaturdayNightSarc

Don't worry, we're killing the golden merit geese quite efficiently too. Once these assholes run out of airdrop merits (any minute now) they will not be able to do this anymore.

Some of account farmers are so insolent. In my opinion, it is obvious that their accounts are connected. For example:

User nameCurrent rank [1]Quantity of newbies who received merit
106)evgenij.zharov.857Member5 newbies
107)JamilowiMember5 newbies
108)sasha.dudnik.84Member5 newbies

And so on.

These account farmers just receive 10 merits from probably sold red tagged profiles, then they distribute by 1 merit to their 5 alternative "newbies" for the garbage posts or the copy-pasted news within a short time.
1718  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dangers of a HODL’er: on: December 02, 2018, 05:36:17 PM
I was hold some good coin since september last year untill now but the result is very bad, i loss more than 80% . And from this case i will never to be hodler again, i think will be more profitable to do swing trading or day trading. Holder can be make profit in more than 3 years and i can not wait for that long.

These are golden words backed by big financial losses. The HODL strategy was profitable in early times when not many people knew about crypto currencies. Coins were very cheap. Often investors who want to sell coins say to others: "Hold your coins". This is beneficial for sellers, because they can comfortably cash their crypto currencies at a high support level.

Honestly, I did not advice to recklessly do HODL coins. Trading is more reasonable decision to gain a profit on such volatile crypto exchange markets. Therefore these "dangers" look like attempts to set some holders against the current global negative trading trend.
1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto market in depression on: December 02, 2018, 04:58:07 PM
I think we are passing depression phase in loop, there is no hope and most of the people say that it is over, but we will see that loop will start again and we will see good rises in the market, just wait for these good and green days.

Ending depression on crypto exchange markets can take years. Obviously, large investors and holders do not want to feed the miners, hence they slowly stabilize coin prices to the prime cost of mining. It is logical that large investors who like to shake crypto exchange markets will buy coins if they realize that most holders are loosing their hope of recovering prices and start selling their crypto currencies. On the contrary, these manipulators will sell their coins if people will expect increasing prices. Large investors have so many coins bought for several dollars in early times that they can lower prices very much.
