You have crossed the line.

You have zero evidence about the sockpuppets you claim.

I will want your name and address.

Otherwise I will request the moderators to reveal to me that information.

I don't think he's going to tell you, FC. You're going to have to go through with your promise to ask the moderators. Keep us updated, eh?

You guys are all too scared to reveal your identities.   Making bold claims but unable to reveal your real selves.

Just a bunch of cowards.

Or possibly just a bunch of sock puppets.

1702  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: February 21, 2014, 10:42:33 PM
The thing that delayed my recognition for so long, is the fact that these guys have so much money already - why would they need to steal more? Any credible ideas?
Yes, they are not stealing it.

They sold BTC that they did not have.

Simple explanation.

It explains why the crashed the market in April 2013.

Assuming they sold and caused the april 2013 crash, why could they not simply buy the bitcoins back at $60-100 with massive profit? It makes no sense that they would sell customers bitcoin and not buy them back when they had a great opportunity to do so. But why would they take the risk of selling customer funds in the first place? This doesn't make sense. None of it.

It explains why for the longest time BTC has a higher USD premium that other exchanges.
And how does them selling all their bitcoin explain that exactly? The premium was higher because withdraws are delayed, that's all. People paid more for BTC to withdraw and sell on other exchanges. And then the argument of them having lack of USD falls short too, if they (according to you) sold at the very top and even caused the crash, they should be loaded with USD and withdraws should not be delayed due to insolvency.
Explain why right now BTC is 80% lower than other exchanges... this is a rigged up way to cover their shorts.
Market psychology, people are panicking due to FUD. I'll admit it's weird that people are willing to sell their coins in low $100s and double digits, but other than that, we don't know why people sell.
Unfortunately, they could be more short BTC than anyone can imagine.

Let's say you were in 2012 and had an exchange for some obscure crypto-currency like Bitcoin.  What if you thought that Bitcoin could never possibly be worth more than $20.  So when people come to your exchange, you sell them BTC that you don't have.   Then one day in 2013, it rises from $10 to $240.... you panic... turn off all trading and crash the market.    But the dip was too quick to cover your shorts,  so for the longest time you try to cover... until you can't take it anymore and shut down all withdrawals.

Mt.Gox is short and are covering their shorts as we speak.
This is a wild conspiracy theory, and that's all this is. No indication that mtgox has stolen our funds, but with a tinfoil hat on, I guess anything is possible.

Do you understand what going short means and how to cover the short position?

Do you know how to spot a short squeeze in progress?

I keep talking about going short BTC and it seems most folks here don't have a clue what I'm talking about!

Sigh!

Still waiting for your name and address.   Don't accuse someone if you can't back it up with evidence.

Man... sad that you are really afraid to provide your identity.
1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: Nxt Reimagined - Industrial Strength - Imagine Fairness! on: February 21, 2014, 10:16:10 PM

Your "coin"  is a clone of Nxt but don't mention that fact on your site.

Because it isn't a clone of Nxt.

As I said a while back ago,  Nxt is fundamentally unsound.  So serious folk *don't* want to build on it.   That's why the NEM developers are not building on it.  That's why NEX is not building on it.

Funny you claim it's not a clone but beg for clients and code in Nxt thread.

In any case, at least Nem has a community.  You don't.

You aren't going anywhere without an active community that want to work  (make clients, translations, promote it, write text, etc)   even if you launch it.

The community materializes once you have people already invested.  NEM has folks that already paid up,   NEX has not yet even collected.

I am more concerned right now about building the technology.   Community will come in due time.  Besides,  we've already collected over 1,000 emails from interested folks and the Facebook likes and Twitter followers are piling up.

The target of course are developers... that is why better technology is what will draw them in... not fancy logos or poor fundamentally unsound technology.

If you were technical in anyway, I can give you 5 reasons why it is fundamentally unsound.

But you would not understand.

Your Nxt zealotry blinds you from the fact that NEX is major competition that will make Nxt look like a high school science project.

Let me keep this quoted

Remember that quote well.   BTW,  care to make a wager on this?  How about a friendly 2 BTC.... we'll have that Anon guy take it as escrow.
1708  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 21, 2014, 09:49:48 PM
the issue is why do people have to beg AMT for answers to simple questions like "am i going to get a product"? it's crazy the hoops one must jump through to get AMT to respond to valid concerns!

Just take the money and run.  No need to spend time thinking about horrible customer service.
1709  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 21, 2014, 09:43:50 PM

blackmailing? are you serious? im being held hostage to the tune of $6000 with no  information to go on. i have begged these guys for information and they have refused to answer any questions i ask. i have been left no choice. im not going to sit by while i believe someone is stealing my money

Hostage? They've offered to cut you a check. You are the one that posted it.

Exactly... if they sent you a refund, then he's got nothing to complain about.

I have already hedged my bets by having already sold one of my miners.

This guy should have done the same if he was concerned about not receiving a product.

Right now, all u are getting is a few vague promises from confused newbies, and a lot of completely justified and correct flak from people who can see what u r doing.
(Oh yeah, and endless scam posts.....wore out my scroll wheel on some pages. Stop that, it's bloody annoying)

I am not the one having conversations with the sockpuppets !

Exposing your shennanigans does not constitute a smear campaign.

You can verify with the moderators that we have not used sockpuppet accounts that you claim.

If you are shorting the market,  then it does not matter how much money you collected in fees.

Let's say they started shorting back in 2011,  can you imagine how much underwater they would be with BTC at $500.

Selling customers BTC that you don't already own can be a recipe for bankruptcy.

1713  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 21, 2014, 09:28:27 PM
for those of you that want to know how AMT treats customers have a look.

Craig,

You know what, I don't have the time to call Amazon right now because im worried about getting everyone else their orders. Here's what will happen, you will call amazon and get your negative comment removed, and once that is removed we'll issue you a refund. Because you need your money back Craig, and I know that. So once that negative review for a product that you didnt even buy is down, I'll send your refund back to you and you'll us alone.

Otherwise, we'll send you your miner and you can mine your money back.

Which would you prefer Craig Lenell??

Craig, we're sending you a refund back to your address via check. you have no more options in this matter, you dont get your machine like everyone else next week.

You are bad person. You better leave me and our company alone from this point forward. Or we will open civil and legal action against you I promise you that.

I'll send you your tracking number shortly with your refund. please don't post on our thread anymore.

All the best

Jim Brown.

Dude... you are black mailing the company.

I agree customer service has been poor.  But you also should know what exactly you got into.

Almost every minning company was delayed.  That is the nature of tech.  Almost everytime, schedules are too optimistic.

Well they said they will send your money back.  That should be enough for you.

1716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 21, 2014, 09:01:22 PM
CfB,

Is it hard to make (or convert) an asset to require multisig?

Any chance of getting this anytime soon?

It would allow the issuance of assets in a trustless way by having a holding acct for the asset that would not be able to transfer or sell it. To release the asset, multisig would be required. This one mechanism would allow NXT Assets to have very coin like properties.

If this is not possible, do you have suggestions on how to properly "issue" new coins to "miners", when the coin is a NXT asset.

James

This could be resolved by using Account Control.

I would be really curious as how Nxt will eventually implement Multi-Sig.   Any specs out there?
1717  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 21, 2014, 08:57:31 PM

Dude!  Will you quit with the trash talking!     I want to sell my miner and you aren't helping with your trash talk!

Go away!!!!

Sell what, d00d?

You have no "miner". All you have is an invoice from an unregistered company operating from Bulgaria in USA territory.

LoL

Dude... you are still trash talking.   If AMT has said that they would deliver, then they should better deliver.    Anyway, it does appear delayed by 2 week from my expectations.

Still a 1.2 THs miner by 2nd week of March is still worth a good deal of dough.   12 BTC for anyone interested!
1718  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 21, 2014, 08:55:22 PM
The lack of updates from AMT is incredibly discomforting...

My wife and I have given AMT considerable thought. The only explanation for their current behavior is they are bailing with our money. They either used all our chips for another major purchaser (possibly a financier) and now they have nothing left or they are using the chips themselves and will continue to do so until they feel clients will wait no longer. These are not kids we are dealing with. No "legitimate" company on earth would behave the way AMT is behaving. Either way they are nothing short of crooks. Put the screws to these guys fast and hard and hope for the best. They are not dumb people - clever thieves. Again, I just refuse to believe a legit company would behave like this. In my 40+ years on this earth I have never encountered a company, i was not screwed by, as terrible as AMT.

CRAIG, YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT HARASS OUR COMPANY TO THE FULLEST. YOU HAVE CALLED AND EMAILED EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR THE LAST 30 TO 60 DAYS.

JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS. CRAIG LENELL PLACED HIS ORDER IN THE 600 LOT. HE DID NOT PAY FOR HIS ORDER UNTIL 6 WEEKS LATER BECAUSE HE CALLED AND BEGGED TO PAY FOR IT. HE ALSO ALTERED HIS PAYMENT METHOD 4 TIMES DURING THAT PROCESS. HE WANTED TO PAY FOR HIS MINER RIGHT BEFORE IT WAS DUE TO BE DELIVERED INSTEAD OF PRE-ORDERING LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

WE EVEN URGED HIM NOT TO PURCHASE BECAUSE WHEN WE HEAR A CLIENT LIKE CRAIG, THAT DOESNT HAVE EXPERIENCE MINING BITCOIN AND NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED WHAT DIFFICULTY IS WE TELL THEM NOT TO BUY. BECAUSE ALL IN ALL WE KNOW IN CASE OF ANY DELAYS THEY WILL BE THE WORST.
'
CRAIG'S ORDER NUMBER HAS BEEN BUMPED FROM 610 TO 910, BECAUSE THAT'S WHEN HE ACTUALLY PAID FOR HIS MINER - 6 WEEKS LATER - WE HAVE A POLICY THAT YOUR ORDER IS EFFECTIVE ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE PAYMENT AND IF WE DONT RECEIVE PAYMENT WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF THE ORDER BEING PLACED, THAN YOUR ORDER BECOMES BASICALLY NULL AND VOID.

BUT MOSTLY, BECAUSE HE IS NOW THREATENING OUR COMPANY AND POSTING REVIEWS ON AMAZON FOR PRODUCTS HE NEVER BOUGHT. WE'LL SOON GET THAT REMOVED FROM AMAZON.

Craig... verify if this is indeed true.  Real disaapointed if it is.
1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEM - copycat scam? on: February 21, 2014, 08:51:29 PM
Nobody is seriously going to copy Nxt until the broken parts are fixed.

What's broken?  The account key is too short!  The block hash key is too short!   The block hash is not safe from quantum computing!   The secret pass phrase is too easy to crack!  The genesis account has already been cracked!  There is no explicit linking between transactions.

It is unfortunately fundamentally broken.

Anyway,  I look forward to clones that fix the problems.
