I will be turning on PoS tomorrow (Friday) evening (GMT time).

Together with our code dev we'll be monitoring the network all night  for possible problems.

If you have coins for minting please (if you can) use them to mint -  would be good to do a stress test on the network with everyone minting. Remember the more blocks we mint the less blocks miners get = higher DMD price.

Minting is also an extremely important security feature as now we are protected only by the miners' Mh/s which isn't that high.

Please do not be paranoid about unlocking your wallet for minting. Eventually DMD will become mostly PoS coin so it's something we will all have to get used to. There will be tools created to help us predict when minting is due.

At the moment, any additional hash will help to protect the network.

I want to remind some of you that DMD is a deposit coin and not high volume money printer. The interest is set to 1% but one can stake  every ~7 days (this adds extra incentive for network protection). The interest might appear low right now, but we are really in the issuance period and eventually that 1% will be a lot.

There will be more changes/features coming and this update is a transitional one.

As you all know MintCoin went pure PoS some time ago leaving some miners mintless.

I knew this coin would take off, I love being right.

It's still extremely undervalued, i'd say by a factor of at least 20, yeah that's right 20 times more!
