1701  Economy / Economics / Re: EU wants to ban crypto anonymous transactions and wallets on: August 04, 2021, 11:28:56 AM
This is freaking ridiculous! Why would they ban something that cannot be prevented or controlled? Anonymous crypto transactions doesn’t have any third party control or whatsoever because it’s completely decentralized. Do they honestly believe that Bitcoin has a “central core” that would make them fully control everything? Absolutely not.

Although they are stopping financial institutions or banks from engaging into crypto (especially the Binance drama), but they can’t prevent P2Ps while we are using non-custodial wallets

They simply wanted to be left behind in this phenomenon.
1702  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10 green daily candles in a row on: August 04, 2021, 11:22:24 AM
Ethereum got more daily green candles to compare to Bitcoin.

Last July 29, and yesterday (July 31) Bitcoin daily candles close below the opening price, so it is red.
But if you take a look at Ethereum, 11 consecutive green daily candles,s and if we will close again today above the opening price, it will become 12 daily candles consecutive.

ETH/USDT

Well it’s because of the hard fork upgrade and maybe some other key factors that would drive investors to pour their money into Ethereum than Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies today.

10 consecutive green candles are a great thing, in which it’s something that we haven’t seen in a very long while. But again, don’t buy the FOMo especially if the chart is on a parabolic curve.
1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you protect your Bitcoin from market volatility? on: August 03, 2021, 12:54:37 PM
In my own opinion, I would convert it to USDT or any other stablecoin to manage my risks when Bitcoin is subject to volatility. As the market is very unpredictable, we may not know when will the price go up or down and it happens without warning. Risk management is still necessary because Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies (except stablecoins) are simply subject to volatility.
1704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm now all in BTC. All eggs in one basket! on: August 01, 2021, 12:06:38 PM
Although that everyone has their own opinion, putting all eggs in one basket isn’t a good idea for me. It reminds me of my conversation with my sister that she wants to go all-in on Bitcoin by putting all of her savings into it. But I told her not to, and only put an amount that she could afford to lose.

Coz’ if we go all-in and if BTC goes down, it would be hard for our emotions to cope up. Instead of going all-in, much better to diversify our money like putting most of it on savings, and only invest a portion of it on Bitcoin and other altcoins.
1705  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Cryptoblades - Earn SKILL for every fight! on: July 28, 2021, 09:26:33 PM
So I don’t know if worth it paba mag pasok ng malaking pera dito, nagkakaroon na ng FUD dahil sa pagbaba ng kitaan, maraming new investors ang nagpapanic. Anyway, siguro focus nalang den muna ako sa axie for now.

The price oracle is the reason kung bakit kailangan mag "correct" ang rewards natin in order for CryptoBlades to sustain in the long run. Kahit P1k a day less P300 pesos gas fee, sulit na din (if we choose to wait for 14 days para 1% na lang ang tax instead of withdrawing everyday that deducts 15% tax every time).

Na listed na din sila lately sa Gate.io exchange at may upcoming Raid at PvP mode sila na ni-mention ni Philip Devine a.k.a. kroge, the CEO of CryptoBlades.

So far, satisfied pa rin ako sa CryptoBlades at plano ko mag create multiple accounts (2 pa lang accounts ko for now at isa na test account na pang forge lang).
1706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my first Bitcoin and am happy on: July 28, 2021, 09:22:28 PM
This is what I should have done in both BTC and altcoins. If we have already profited no matter if it's small or big, taking profit is important and not be greedy on it. Although that I have missed the big bull run of Bitcoin last December because of selling too early, it shows that BTC is designed for long-term investment. If I could have hold a bit, I would have enjoyed it already. But it is what it is, and we have to move forward until we can see BTC going bull run again in the future.
1707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Books we need to read on: July 28, 2021, 09:19:42 PM
I would like to suggest a book coming from Erica Stanford called Crypto Wars: Faked Deaths, Missing Billions and Industry Disruption.

I've ordered this book online and still waiting for it to arrive in my doorstep. I bought a bundle that includes paper back copy and eBook version of it. I've also interviewed the author on my Youtube channel last time.

So far, I am still reading her book digitally and I have learned a lot especially when it comes to crypto scams around the corner.
1708  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance squeezes users on verification on: July 28, 2021, 09:14:34 PM
I have been flabbergasted, really, since I got that Binance is pressing and squeezing its users for what now seems a compulsory verification exercise by reducing its daily withdrawal limit from 2BTC to 0.06BTC for non verified accounts. I don't know what to make of this headlong as this is obviously killing the anonymous thing Bitcoin and cryptocurrency should stand for. Did anyone else who hasn't upgraded verification beyond basic one get that message?

Will Binance lose client base now. Will BNB take the hit and crash while this is on? There are many speculations going on in my mind right now.

What do you think?

I'm an old user but didn't verify my account yet. I don't know if I'm counted because it states that only new users are affected if not verified. However, I do have plans to get fully verified by completing my KYC. As Binance is on the hot seat where countries like UK are doing a crackdown in their exchange. I think they are taking necessary steps slowly so that they would renegotiate with UK to reconsider them to operate in their country.

We have no choice but to comply if we want to increase our withdrawal limits.
1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Axie Infinity's popularity is sustainable? on: July 28, 2021, 08:20:03 PM
At first I got my Axies sometime weeks ago (a mixed of hybrid/chops type Axies) and only played a few days because of this unforgiving server issues that they have. I only earned around 113 SLP in a span of a week due to these unstable servers. So I gave up my Axies to another person so that I could focus on CryptoBlades (in which I indeed got my ROI faster than ever and I'm still enjoying it until now).

Although Axie is sustainable in the long run for both competitive gaming and play to earn concept, it's still a long way to go for them to become stable like the non-paying video games out there.
1710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I know if an altcoin is a scam? on: July 28, 2021, 08:01:08 PM
I would not easily believe those projects (especially shitcoins) who claimed that this will be the next 100x, 500x, 1,000x coin or something like that. It's a red flag to be honest and very risky as well. If that altcoin doesn't have an impressive real use case and ended up almost copying other's concepts without uniqueness, then I would doubt that it will grow. If their liquidity is not locked and no renouncement at all, I would doubt that project would operate in the long run.

It doesn't matter if the team is doxxed, because all of these altcoins are subject to price volatility and was played by the buyers and sellers.
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still the favorite choice on: July 28, 2021, 07:56:34 PM
An important reason for Bitcoin's popularity is that it has withstood the test of time. No digital currency has experienced so many ups and downs like it. It has been discussed many times around the world, and  tenacity of its vitality also proves its value from the side.
Moreover, Bitcoin is the most widely-consensus digital cryptocurrency, and it has a strong international circulation. The total amount of Bitcoin is constant at 21 million, and it is halved about every four years. It is scarce. In addition, Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer transaction transmission, free from the intervention of various institutions, and can circulate around the world. You can send your Bitcoin to any corner of the world. Coupled with the fact that Bitcoin has higher returns than gold. Digital currency or encrypted assets represented by Bitcoin is the general direction of the development of the entire financial industry.
The great investor's enthusiasm over Bitcoin is based on its overall progress during last decade, it is proven only crypto asset that surpasses the expectation of investors and breaks the previous record highs. And bitcoin has been presented to the world to comply with the general trend of economic globalization.

https://medium.com/cryptocurrencies-ups-and-down/bitcoin-is-still-the-favorite-choice-598d15fde96f

It is undeniable that Bitcoin is still the "king" of cryptocurrencies. Without Bitcoin, there would be no altcoins and we have to be thankful to Satoshi Nakamoto for making this a reality since it began last 2009. And the rest was history! It's still the favorite choice for most of the crypto enthusiasts around the world.

Bitcoin was built for long-term investment and holders are the true winners (especially if they've bought BTC years ago).
1712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Opportunities in the Crypto Space on: July 28, 2021, 12:51:46 PM
You’re absolutely right. So many opportunities right here in the crypto space, and I’m just being thankful no matter what. Because of crypto opportunities, I get the chance to prove them wrong about me (e.g., the ones who underestimate me especially my own blood) as I had multiple failures in the past and endured sermons from my dad and mom.

I took the risk in getting into crypto (I was broke back then) by participating in ICOs, airdrops, bounties, etc., and it turned my life around. I traveled a lot within the Philippines and overseas and got the chance to become independent by renting a condo unit far away from my hometown (it’s a 1+ hour flight due to the fact that my city is one of the 7,000+ islands). Not only that, I become a keynote speaker in universities, etc., and got a chance to be invited to be a panel speaker in Malaysia.

As the pandemic began, I never stopped finding opportunities and now I’ve gained so much due to my ambassador duties, Youtube sponsored videos, bounties and now play-to-earn games like Axie Infinity and Cryptoblades.

I’m so blessed to be part of this community!
1713  Economy / Reputation / Re: Show of Appreciation, A Senior Member, a new responsibility on: July 28, 2021, 12:37:59 PM
You deserve all of the hardwork and persistence and becoming a Sr. Member like me. I’m just less than a hundred away from becoming a Hero member, but I am not in a rush or having a “mindset” to that. I’m just happy and satisfied to be here in this form regardless of the rank.

So much stuff to learn here and to contribute something helpful as well to the community. You’ve done that pretty well to become an awesome contributor to this wonderful forum.

Once again, congratulations!
1714  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: not paying? You should unlearn then relearn on: July 28, 2021, 12:34:51 PM
I got the phrase "unlearn And relearn" from a forum  member and decided to do something nice with it. Most traders start with good and constant profits but along the line the start facing heavy losses most of them are good analyst but can't maintain a clean trade. This has made many give up on trading some see it as a game of chance mean while trading is a continuous process which requires consistent studying and practicing. If as a trader you can't maintain a good trade sheet go do some newer research unlearn the process and relearn

It takes humility to excel in trading it's not a game for the proud because your student can become your tutor in the near future and some one you once showed a technique might have a secret you would need for a better approach. In trading team work too pays pretty cool expecially for starters get a trading mate who would join in analysing the market with you before placing a trade it would go a long way in perfecting your trade over time and also make you a consistent profit maker.

In other words, emptying our cup. Or I can say the process is like the four pillars “Decide. Take Action. Assess. Adjust”.

It applies in all aspects of life, especially trading. Always learn from our mistakes in trading, because even the so-called “pros” and “experts” are not exempted from making mistakes as well because the market is unpredictable.
1715  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: holding is not an easy thing on: July 28, 2021, 12:25:51 PM
alot of people really want to hold but the daily needs of life make them sell off at little profit and solve their needs which is really good. but later they notice the coin they sold cheap is worth enough to liberate them. this kind of occurences are painful but its really not his fault. this brings me to the question of maybe holding is for the rich who can afford to buy and forget. ? lets discuss this, thank you.

Indeed. Although holding is still a good thing for major coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, Cardano, etc., but that is if you put an amount that is considered “dead money” in your eyes or simply what you can afford to lose. Risk management is still necessary right now and I certainly believe that even if it’s just a small profit, learn to appreciate it.
1716  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where do you get trading advice and tips from? on: July 28, 2021, 12:12:13 PM
These days, as more people become more aware of forex and cryptotrading, There are a lot of people giving unsolicited advice and tips as regards the subjects. The big question is who and where do you take your trading advice and tips from?

Do you get your trading advice and tips from a self acclaimed trading guru on YouTube or some social media platform who sometimes make most of their money from selling courses and not really trading?
Or do you take trading advice from this forum?

Do you get advice and tips from some telegram group you joined? Or do you get advice and tips from your friends?

I remember the time that I was still a newbie in crypto last 2017. Since I didn’t have any “friends” that time who are into crypto and mostly are into online selling, e-commerce and network marketing, I self-study them by reading a lot of articles and watching videos on Youtube regarding the basics of trading, etc.

Most of the newbie and beginner friends I have insisted me to give them a “lot of time” to do step-by-step by doing this and that, etc. I just simply give them advice that due to my heavy schedule in my work, they should take time watching the videos, read more articles and learn more about trading in various crypto trading communities.
1717  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Always take profit on: July 28, 2021, 12:03:45 PM
It's easy to enter with good entry point but the challanging thing is taking profit before a retracement and most of the times this retracement could be a beginning of a new trend changing a winning trade to loss. And in situations where the trader fails to apply stop loss there could be chances of blowing off ones account. A profit taken is better than a loss made no matter how small accumulation of smalls makes a mighty bulk.

Have you considered taking profits of $1-3$ repeatedly throughout a trading session it might sound small for professional traders but it would go along way in growing an account most especially for beginners. If a trader cultivate the habbit of taking profit during trading he would have an upper hand over the market and also get clearer pictures of better entry points and also be on alert on when to exit especially during retracement.

Th is is exactly what I have been doing nowadays because all I wanted is to become happy and satisfied, and not being greedy. I have already learned it from my past mistakes where greed leads me to failure in profiting in most of the coins and tokens (especially shitcoins). I’ve lost a lot to be honest due to being greedy.

Right now I have a new habit. When it’s profit no matter small or big, I would go “TP” mode and now I am on the road of recovering some losses that I have in the past.
1718  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon will accept Bitcoin payment this year on: July 28, 2021, 11:57:37 AM
For me, this is one big reason why Bitcoin suddenly jumped from the previous consolidation range of $30k to $32k and now between $39k to $40k. It’s a good decision by Amazon to embrace Bitcoin in open arms, because they’ve finally been enlightened on how BTC payments would help boost not only their giant e-commerce platform, but also the adoption and awareness to its consumers.
1719  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: July 28, 2021, 11:53:32 AM
If I wanted to get paid in crypto to be honest, I would prefer USDT. Doesn’t matter if it’s TRC20, ERC20, BSC, OMNI, etc., as long it’s a stablecoin because Bitcoin and other ones are subject to volatility plus the fees per transaction. As USDT is pegged to the USD along with BUSD, USDC, DAI, etc., I wouldn’t have a problem with that. In my current work, I am paid in USDT.
1720  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin bull market back on: July 28, 2021, 11:51:13 AM
over the weekend bitcoin recovered back to $34K after going below $30k and early this money the market jumped to above $38k breaking the $35k market bench mark, a move that many will see as a bull market movement. am very optimistic that in the coming days of the week bitcoin market is going to make a significant upward movement that will make it price recover back to it all time price of $64k and there after recording a new all time high.
what are your takes on the current bitcoin market movement.

Like what I’ve told my newbie and beginner friends out there, the market will always be unpredictable. Of course, we’re kinda on a bull run because of Amazon’s announcement that they will be embracing crypto. Although it’s not as huge as Elon Musk’s, but at least we could appreciate it.

For me, I can’t say that we are “fully” back on the bull run, but let’s just hope for the best in the coming days and weeks.
