1701  Economy / Reputation / Re: 5 Years, 5000 Merit and 7000 Posts. on: April 19, 2023, 10:34:15 AM
Now a new journey begins, and hopefully, 5 years later I would be able to write another boring story like this one.
Congratulations!!!! It has been five years of impact and accomplishment. I know of many people that have wasted many years on social media without any meaningful outcome but you have maximized this five years. This post has encouraged me to do my best, keep learning and contribute to the forum. 5000 merits from 7000 posts is proof that your posts were impactful. I also pray that the next 5years will be more fruitful and impactful. My journey is just starting, I wish mine will be half as impactful as yours.
1702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin? on: April 19, 2023, 09:55:08 AM
What do you think about my advised to him?
One cardinal feature of Bitcoin is that it is non-discriminatory because it allows everybody to invest in the sector. $30 for a start is not a bad idea but he shouldn't expect much from this small investment. I don't know how long it took him to save these funds but with determination, he can do more. I encourage him to keep saving and increase his Bitcoin holding. If he keeps saving and investing, he will be surprised that his investment has grown to a high level. If he shouldn't thinks that his $30 will make him rich overnight because the more you invest the greater the chances of making more profit if the market is favorable.
1703  Other / Meta / Re: offordscott - ban appeal on: April 19, 2023, 07:02:40 AM
Do you have anyone close to you that knows about Bitcointalk since you said the post weren't made by you?
Because someone around can be the closest who can do such thing probably such user is dreaming to have a big account, or could be as a result of of autosave password.
I don't think the hacker or intruder wants the account because the password would have been changed to ensure that Scott doesn't have access to it. Maybe they want to use his account to spread malware.

I have known Scott for years and I can without a doubt vouch for him, he might be unaware of the forum rules but I know for sure he wouldn't post links to malware or anything else that would get him banned, I suppose many other forum members who are active in the mining section would also vouch for him. I hope he gets his account back
I have just encountered one of the reasons to be a good and respectable member of the forum. In cases like this people will come all out to vouch for you and protect your interest. Scott has been defended by almost half of the members that responded to this thread. It reminds me of a verse in a religious book that states that a good name is better than riches. I also hope the moderator investigates this case and hopefully Scott gets his account back to continue his good service to the community.
1704  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase CEO asks UK to slow down on Crypto Regulations - lift bank bans on: April 19, 2023, 06:32:59 AM
It is not wrong to say that south east asia will become the cryptocurrency powerhouse in the future. While developed countries like UK and US are resisting crypto development, countries like Singapore and Hong Kong are gearing up to adopt crypto and providing a very favourable business regulations.

So if UK and US continue doing what they are doing with crypto businesses, they will soon become irrelevant in ever-changing global business landscape.
Building a solid structure that helps to protect cryptocurrency investors from fraudulent exchanges and business will be viable for the growth of the sector. But if the UK government insists on strict regulation of the crypto space, then investors will move to other countries that a welcoming. The fall of exchanges should not be the reason for this unfriendly posture of these governments because you cannot generalize that all of them have fraudulent intentions. Africa would have been a viable crypto investment hub but most of them still take orders from their anti-bitcoin former colonial masters.
1705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: April 18, 2023, 07:31:46 PM
I think a lot of people are watching this derby match for the first time, yes it's because Cristiano Ronaldo was there that made us interested in watching that match. Overall, Al Hilal is indeed superior to Al Nassr, and their meeting record also says so.
Oh yes, Al Hilal is reportedly interested in signing Lionel Messi and they are ready to make Messi the most expensive player and surpass Cristino Ronaldo. Will that really happen, because Messi also seems to have started to feel uncomfortable at Paris Saint Germain.
Saudi Arabia league history will be incomplete without the name Cristiano Ronaldo. Within a short period, he had made the league very popular.  Al Nassr tried all they could to catch up with Al Hilal but it seems the latter has a more formidable team than Ronaldo's club. Bringing Messi to the Saudi league will be another turning point for the football league of that country. It will even add quality to the national team of Saudi Arabia. The presence of two of the world's best players of all time in a league will attract more quality players, fans, and investments. Messi has won almost every trophy in his career and for now, I think it is time to make more money and the Saudi League is the ideal location.
1706  Other / Meta / Re: locked thread for no reason on: April 18, 2023, 05:58:23 PM
Is it possible to get an answer from mods here?
Cause I had few more questions to those who answered and now Im unable to ask them :c
From little experience in this forum, I have discovered that there is always a reason for the actions of the moderator. Your post may have violated some rules of the forum which might be the reason for the lock. I have also seen threads like this in which the moderator suddenly comes online and gives answers to questions. So you might fortunate to attract the attention of a moderator because I am sure they visit Meta often. Or you can use the personal message option like LoyceV suggested.

If you have been conversant with the gambling board, you should have noticed that there have been many threads already created recently on gambling and lottery, moderators look into this frequently discussed aspects and apply justice to them in other to avoid recreation of similar threads in other to avoid spamming the forum, some discussion could have just been best made under a topic already created than creating a new thread for them.
That is why it is advisable to use the search option before creating a new thread to avoid duplication. But we are just speculating there might be other reasons why such action was taken regarding the thread.
1707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FIVE TIPS EVERY BEGINNER SHOULD KNOW BEFORE INVESTING IN BITCOIN. on: April 18, 2023, 05:41:11 PM
In summary, bitcoin investment is not something to undertake blindly. It requires a lot of research, a disciplined approach, and a solid plan to protect your investment. Keep in mind that investing in bitcoin is still a risky, and it's important to stay informed and cautious at all times. You can use the links below to learn more tips.
Jimmy, I am really impressed with the arrangement of your post and your ability to reference the source. It seems you are skillful in writing and you are knowledgeable about Bitcoin. Every point you raised in this post is valid and they have the potential of helping newbies.
You are just a few weeks old in the forum, and you are creating a thread to lecture in the forum. You might be more knowledgeable than most of us but it might not be ideal, to begin with, a lecture thread. Some of the reasons are
1. Many members will not take it seriously because it will be assumed that you are new and inexperienced
2. It shows that you might not be willing to learn because you need to stay in the forum for some time so that you can learn before teaching.
3. How will you feel when a 10year old steps into a Ph.D. class and introduces himself as your lecturer?  The child might be knowledgeable but he might not get the right attention.
I think you should spend more time and study the forum before creating threads that have been repeated again and again.
1708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still a digital currency on: April 18, 2023, 05:21:09 PM
People have different reasons for joining the Bitcoin industry. Some intend to use it as a currency to promote their privacy while others see it as an investment platform. Sometimes the transaction fees of using bitcoins as a currency might discourage people from using it for paying for goods and services. And people prefer to use fiat to buy mostly petty goods.

The rate of inflation and constant loss of value of the currency of most countries have made many people use Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and devaluation. Many countries restrict the use of Bitcoin as a means of payment thereby forcing citizens to embrace Bitcoin only as an investment opportunity.

NB: Using headings for large posts like this will make it easier and faster to read. But I commend your effort Op.
1709  Economy / Services / Re: I sell videos from a third world country; I receive BITCOIN on: April 18, 2023, 03:54:36 PM
What do I offer? Get to know videos about guerrilla warfare, harassment, indigenous cultures, rains, floods, traffic, culture and how economic exchange is.
I do not provide personal information.

My country is so third world that coffee is sold on the street, a cart and what to sell its price is from 0.1 to 0.2 usd...I have more data and videos

Your services will be good for content creators that need these videos to generate revenue from various social media. I don't know how you intend to handle the copyright issue and I am wondering if your country is a wartorn and natural disaster-prone nation. I just wonder how you can get videos of harassment and battles because it will be very risky. But it also seems that OP has been working on this project for a long time which is why he could boast of having these videos. Anyway, I wish you all the best in your business.
1710  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: April 17, 2023, 08:40:19 PM
How much can you earn from the sig campaigns per month? As per my rough estimates, the maximum you can earn is around $400 to $600. Forget about living like a "King", you can't even have a decent standard of living with this much money. Inflation is in double digits and you need at least $2,000 per month after taxes to have a comfortable lifestyle. And I am talking about living comfortably, and not about living like a "King". On the other hand, if you are OK with a very basic hand-to-mouth existence, the I guess $400-600 per month should be enough.
I read a story of how some immigrants from some North and South American countries embark on very risky journeys to get to the US in search of better opportunities. One of these illegal immigrant that was interviewed by CNN was a Venezuelan professor. I was surprised when she told the press that her salary as a professor at a university was $16 per month. Immediately I began to appreciate what we earn from campaign. What I earn from my current campaign will be enough for me to take off a family of four comfortably. All I have to do is to ensure that I focus on basic needs and shun spending on luxury.

You can read the story about the Venezuelan professor using the link:

1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: April 17, 2023, 07:27:59 PM
You will not think of the negative effects when you're still enjoying the game but when you don't know how to get out and you stated chasing your losses, is not enjoyable anymore, you think of your losses you think that you can beat the house because you've experienced winning because you experienced how is it like to win big amount but you did not quit on time.
Everything depends on quitting at the right time and knowing your limitation, without this, you will fall into addiction so enjoying it becomes a source of anxiety and depression.
Nobody wants to be addicted to gambling. Gambling addiction is triggered by some factors which include greed and lack of planning. Some gamblers are so greedy that because they want to win big they would stake more than their capacity. Some of them are not content with their win which will make them restake what they have won for higher wins. Lack of proper financial planning will also lead to addiction. Having a budget and time frame for your gambling life could help to reduce the tendency to become addicted to gambling. If you know that you don't have control over your spending, it is advisable to stay away from gambling.
1712  Other / Meta / Re: This gets me worried, I think the 'Brains' in the forum should look into it on: April 17, 2023, 06:46:51 PM
But I can tell you for sure why some will get their posts marked in such a way, it's mainly because they try so much to write down a post like it's fucking essay that you're getting a mark on every single phrase that they end up with one huge wall of text that spins the same idea which stops looking like being normal text written by human and more like some machine. Let's not even mention the 3-4 liens quota, some simply force themselves to make that number of words characters, and of course when you try to stretch a 4 words phrase into 100 it it stops sounding human.
I envy the way you express your views in a clear but concise form @stompix. But people mostly from non-English speaking nations sometime can't express themselves accurately. So they feel one of the ways to further clarify their point to make the reader understand is to repeat their intentions using other words to avoid misconception. I am guilty of this shortcoming. Some writers want to express themselves comprehensively. They want to write it the way it flows from their mind, which is why their post most times are long. I am also guilty of this offense. I will have to improve my expression in the English language and also consider the length of my post because I will never want to be called a bot.
1713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is racist on: April 17, 2023, 05:23:45 PM
when SEC talks about users investing. they are not talking about bitcoin. they are talking about BUSINESSES with advertising budgets.. where BUSINESSES select their advert to their desired demography
Even if it isn't about BTC, but about businesses and their mode of advertisement, it does not still make the business racist simply because they have a target audience, i believe every business has a target audience, and if that be it every business can be accused of being racist by the people outside their target audience. Businesses want to make profit, and their customers have to research before using it, everything that happens after that has nothing to do with racism. Gullibility, greed, lack of research, etc, i can agree.
I am not an agriculturist so I have no business with investing or running a farm unless I decide to study the field. Bitcoin is not for everybody just like some other products. If it was racist some continents would not have access to Bitcoin. The government is the main racist because they discriminate against Bitcoin and limit its operation in most nations. It is the responsibility of any investor to do his homework about a prospective profit-making skill. If you don't have basic knowledge about an investment scheme there is no need to blindly invest in it. Most people that invest in the crypto sector without knowledge were brainwashed to believe that it is an easy medium to get profit in a short period.
1714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always hide your forum email address after registration. on: April 17, 2023, 04:58:45 PM
Am sure some people don’t know about how to hide email address from public, I will be providing short steps on how to do that so that we will all be free from hackers.
I find this tutorial useful because I have been exposed to diverse security tips like using different emails for a different purposes. This is because privacy is key to avoiding scammers and fraud. This might make one have many email accounts that will be very difficult to maintain. Hence, it might not be out of place to keep a record of these emails to facilitate easy access. I have had to go through recovery processes because I usually forget the details of some of he email accounts I had opened all in the bid to pursue privacy.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 16, 2023, 06:16:48 PM
A very meaningful victory for Man United because they again won third place in the Premier League. Man United deserved this victory because they are indeed better than Nottingham. This is not much different from what happened in the first half, Man United won possession and dominated the game. They should have won more than 2 goals, it's just that Navas played very well and thwarted Man United's good opportunities several times.

A bad day for Arsenal and a good day for Manchester United. This draw has put more pressure on the gunners and they might end up having more bad results unless they put their house in order. But I don't blame the Arsenal team so much for the loss because West Ham was also a good side today and also deserve to win. But Arsenal still has their future in their hands if they can win all their subsequent games. But it will be very difficult for them to win all their games because they will be playing against City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and even Brighton and I doubt if they can will all of these games. It will be a great disappointment if Arsenal fails to win the league after so much hard work.

Manchester United is doing everything possible to solidify its hold on the third position. This is a team that had some disappointing experiences before the world cup break but Erik ten Hag has proved critics wrong through his result-oriented strategies.
1716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How true is this statement? on: April 16, 2023, 05:37:58 PM
Wicked said! Lol, that's someone's name, he said the longer you use bitcoin as your unit of account, the more you begin to realize that it doesn't make sense to make any long term investments with your bitcoin savings...not even in some the best performing stocks from the past few years. They're all down in terms of bitcoin.
I don't know why the person concluded that Bitcoin is not a viable long term, but did he give your an alternative investment? But I think everybody is entitled to his own decision or belief. For me, I have not come across any crypto investment that is more genuine, durable, and somehow profitable than Bitcoin.

Quote
How true is this statement? I thought bitcoin wallet is best for storing long term investment, since no physical companies are to be trusted 100%, people uses bitcoin wallet to established good investment plans but seeing lead to ask questions of why and how true, which means no where is safe for life investment.
Decentralized wallets are the best to store your coin but you also have the responsibility to keep your investment safe. There are risks attached to all forms of business so we can not conclude that there is a safe place to invest funds or savings.
1717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Number Of Bitcoin Millionaires Doubles In 2023 on: April 16, 2023, 05:08:55 PM
Without even looking closely at data or economic analysis Bitcoin has indeed made many people millionaires if not in dollars it could be in their local currency. If one bought 500,000 dollars worth of bitcoin when the price was $15,000, you are already a millionaire because the price is almost double. But it is good to see that people are getting a profit from their investment in Bitcoin. It could also attract more people to the bitcoin sector.

Bitcoin price hasn't reach ATH yet, which will come up at 2025 after bitcoin halving next year April,2024 from analysis. Bitcoin price will still dump below 30k,which makes it not ATH. There must be an halving event before ATH,this makes me think that the author of this article doesn't understand bitcoin movement and cyclic, that it is historical.
All this analysis is based on projections by different bitcoiner that seems to have understood the market movement of Bitcoin. But from my little observation, the price of Bitcoin is unpredictable so nobody can claim mastery over the sector. It is affected by global economic and political events and these events are unpredictable. So I have decided to accept the movement of the market the way it works out because it can not be perfectly observed.
1718  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe Not Possible For Governments To Get Off Fiat?? on: April 16, 2023, 04:42:23 PM
Would this be a case of intimidation from more dominate countries that is preventing other governments from wanting to change the financial system?

Thoughts?

Of course, it could get to the level of economic and even political intimidation. Every country wants its currency to become dominant in the global banking and trading sectors. The US will not want the Chinese Yaun to overtake the dollar so it will do all within its power to ensure the Dollar remains number one even if it will take diplomacy, threats, intimidation, and to extreme war.

But it will be stupid for any nation to ditch the dollars without necessary preparation and planning. It will be suicidal for any nation that depends solely on imports from the US or rely on income from export from the nation to consider abandoning the dollar. Before such policy will be announced there should be a gradual diversification and restructuring of the nation's economy so that it could be able to withstand any economic sanctions or embargoes that might be placed by the US because of the ditching of the dollars. It has been assumed in some quarters that Russia prepared for this invasion which was why their economy is to a large extent sanction-proof.
1719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 15, 2023, 09:28:05 PM
Much Pressure will be on Arsenal tommorow they are not to draw, loss but to win that game
The win Manchester City has placed them just three points below man city
Leicester city had two chances to draw the game still but there wasn't enough luck on their hands but Madison was too greedy and Ihanacho was unlucky with the strike

The pressure will be the consequence of not maintaining their lead. All the players will want to be cautious and this can less to mistakes. Leicester is heading toward relegation because of the loss today. I was expecting Leicester to put up a good fight but they ended up losing by three goals to one consolation goal scored by Kelechi. Wilfred Ndidi keeps losing important balls which have led to some negative consequences. His mistake has made his club conceive cheap goals. For me, Leister didn't show any sign that they wanted to win the game. Manchester City was just too good for the struggling team and it was wonderful to see Haaland scoring in this game. I wonder what will happen in Leicester if they are finally relegated.

If Arsenal will be able to beat West Ham tomorrow the pressure on them will reduce. West Ham's performance have not been encouraging so Arsenal might win the game but we have to wait till tomorrow because soccer cannot be accurately predicted.
1720  Other / Archival / Re: What's your impacts with bitcoin? on: April 15, 2023, 05:36:36 PM
Is good to touch lives with whatever you're blessed with, sometimes strangers need us, your family and relatives, friends. When you touch lives with sources of income you keep increasing. Yesterday I batch into a wonderful family of a mother with 3 kids scout on road begging to eat, from her stories they loss their father and nothing was left for the family. Nothing much on me, I quickly place $200 withdrawal and I took the family to mini market bought food items, cloths for the kids and toiletries. Give the remaining change balance to her.

They close begging that yesterday, I slept well yesterday feeling good to help others plus their prayers for me. No pictures taken for public reputations.
I don't get the reason for his thread but I appreciate your kind gesture. Are you telling us you help somebody with your Bitcoin or what? It's not proper to publicize what you do for people. Kind gestures should be personal. In my religion, if you give your left hand shouldn't know that your right hand is giving. But it is painful to know that people are suffering. And most of these nations suffer because of corruption. This is because most of these nations have natural resources that can fend for all their citizens.
