Hey. Recently we have started a thread to discuss gamblers' appeal to lotteries but it was locked quite soon for some reason.
May I have an explanation if sth is wrong here?

Perhaps the moderator considered that 5 pages is enough to get an exhaustive answer.

You do have quite a number of threads in the gambling board that have been locked (I am not sure if it was done by the Mod or by you but if It was by the mods, then you might have an answer as to why the latest thread has been locked as well)

Maybe some of you have noticed that we are quite active on the forum, trying our best to offer bitcointalk gamblers interesting promotions.
We at MegaPari got used to a format of a lottery - we ask players to fulfill certain requirements and collect their IDs in order to pick winners for rewards.
First they were some bonus offerings, now we are also giving away "physical prizes" - a luxurious vacation or even a Lamborghini crossover. (details in our ANN thread, btw).
But here what concerns me - I think we need to move to a more engaging way of communicating with the audience while  running such campaigns.

If you have been conversant with the gambling board, you should have noticed that there have been many threads already created recently on gambling and lottery, moderators look into this frequently discussed aspects and apply justice to them in other to avoid recreation of similar threads in other to avoid spamming the forum, some discussion could have just been best made under a topic already created than creating a new thread for them.

From little experience in this forum, I have discovered that there is always a reason for the actions of the moderator. Your post may have violated some rules of the forum which might be the reason for the lock. I have also seen threads like this in which the moderator suddenly comes online and gives answers to questions. So you might fortunate to attract the attention of a moderator because I am sure they visit Meta often. Or you can use the personal message option like LoyceV suggested.

I think it's more about the per thread person service or casino reason.

Besides, ot looks very much like a promotion which could be discussed within your existing service thread or you could have it discussed in the games and around since, iys got some lottery attributes to it.

More over, having this form of lottery is subject to how the selections are been made and having it very open as in, readily visible to users by means of an ID chart and conforming the selection to be based on confirmations on the block chain or some running clock related to bets placed would be very transparent to participants.

Don't you think you yourself should lock the thread? You already have got more than 80 replies. All these reply should get you the answer you are looking for. It's generating a lot of spams now.
When you create a thread and you get enough replies there to cover your answer, you should lock the thread to avoid spam.

You asked some questions here and about 88 people commented on your topic which the moderators thought was enough to get a proper answer to your question. And to make everyone turn around with similar comments, your topic may be consider as spamming, which is why the moderator has locked your topic. I think that's what happened.
on the other hand, your topic may get reported from multiple users because you talk of about giving away an incredibly expensive Lamborghini there he he. that's why  your topic may be locked.

We don't know what the moderator is basing this on, but anyway if you really want to know what the reason is you can probably contact these mods.

       Although, I have no idea how you can talk to them, because I know they are also quite busy. But you know who the moderators are in this forum. It's possible that the topic you made was someone who made it to you before, so suddenly your thread is locked.

I have yet an opportunity to reach Cyrus, but I had once or twice reached hilariousandco for something and he answered my questions. The board you're referring to were moderated by both of them, I'll suggest you to try to reach either one of them, I think it is more likely than not that they'll give you a reply with answer --though I think what's suggested by several members here are answering enough.

Actually, I think more threads should be locked when they go beyond page 5, and I personally rarely respond to threads that are longer than that. If we talk specifically about the Gambling section, all the more reason to do so.

You're right because this may actually be part of the reasons why his post was locked, there could be many other reasons associated while sometimes they delete a post or move to topic base on how they see the necessity, this is their role and we cannot question them for acting appropriately, instead we should be more careful from allowing a reoccurrence later in future, we also have the right to lock our created thread as we pleases aside the moderator doing that while theirs is most likely irreversible.

Yes I agree with that but there should be an exception like the boxing discussion it's hard to lock it when the fight is not yet occurred because when it comes to this kind of sport there are a lot of new updates and changes coming in before the actual fight, there's a lot of contradiction and debate before the fight, but going back to the topic mods is right in locking it, the topic becomes redundant, OP should have created a poll so even those who don't want to post can cast their vote.

You can only get the actual reason from the mods who handled that thread it can be one of the global mod or mod assigned for that specific board and the reason can be differ from one to another.

All others can say possible reasons and myself feel that you are trying to inject a gambling site to the community along with few legitimate questions which creates the red flag that is this thread created for shilling the site?

Op I believe you have gotten the needed answers from forum threads analysts. There are different causes of thread deleting and lock g of threads. The locked thread information would have inputed in the main ANN thread. Since you are project owner or manager, it is only one thread is need there. But if the information you want to pass on is inline with the ANN thread, you can make a comment under the ANN. But if they are entirely different, then then you can create another thread.

Asking those questions, what answers were you expecting to hear?
Didn't you get enough replies, and didn't you get that one answer you were expecting? Or didn't you get that one answer classified into many gamblers' different replies?
What do you expect from those questions?
There is no perfect answer that you will hear from anybody because everyone will have different perceptions that they follow in their mind while replying. Rest goes the spam where users start talking to each other quoting or multi-quoting the comments and continuing the decision that becomes baseless at some point (even off-topic but still the nonsense debate goes on).

Posting on bounties doesn't guarantee a thread get locked, you need to know that when a thread is lock then the moderator have identified one reason to why the thread shouldn't have been created, one of which is creation of multiple related threads, content of the threads and any other wrong way of creating one, we have a number of members on this forum who only participate in bounties and their thread wasn't lock nor topic been deleted, there must be something OP is already missing out that led to such experience.
