1701  Economy / Speculation / Re: [UPDATE] $1,400 HIT (Next goal is $1,500) on: May 01, 2017, 03:36:51 PM
Can someone explain to me

On https://bitcoinaverage.com/en/bitcoin-price/btc-to-usd => It shows USD 1416,96 at the moment.

But when I click on

https://bitcoinaverage.com/en/exchanges/gdax/btc-to-gbp => USD 1327,40
https://bitcoinaverage.com/en/exchanges/bitstamp/xrp-to-usd => USD 1390,81

So why is the above price higher then the only 2 exchanges bitcoinaverage has listed?

Bitcoinaverage is buggy though
Take a look on GDAX website, the price is $1458
Btw bitfinex +$1500 right now
1702  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: May 01, 2017, 03:13:44 PM
I hadn't paid much attention to this before but am interested in supporting, but I am curious, are we still at 10/50BTC given the intent of the original amounts and the current value relative to fiat?

Yes it's still 10 and 50 BTC. The Bitcoin value is USD is not taken into consideration.

Having 10 or 50 btc in the past was much easier than nowadays... Mining was easier, btc to USD was cheaper
I don't think that these prices should be updated since it is unfair for the old one but I am with adding additional ones
1703  Economy / Speculation / Re: [UPDATE] $1,400 HITTED (Next goal is $1,500) on: May 01, 2017, 02:59:00 PM
Actually, the topic of this thread is false.
We did not have 1400$ price level reached so far, unless you are talking about every single cryptocurrency exchanges, including bitfinex- because that is the only place where it has crossed over this price.
On the other places, the price was slighlty smaller. The all-time high is at 1377$ per bitcoin, which is a really good price if we consider how much bitcoin was worth 10 years ago.

I think that the time when it is so profitable to invest into bitcoin has passed, unless the btc/usd rate will drop below 1300$. I would not recommend buying on such a mountain.
That would make me just lose my money probably, i prefer to stay out of the risk.

For the moment
GDAX $1,457.97
itBit $1,435.00
Gemini $1,452.00

Meanwhile Bitfinex $1,496.10  Roll Eyes

I wouldnīt take the price in Bitfinex as a reference, it is a particularly high price due to the circumstances that are occurring in that exchange. The average price is maintained around $1325-$1330 which is fine, we will still have to wait to reach 1400 but I think itīs possible to reach that range in a short time.

Bitfinex +$1400 and the Chinese exchanges still -$1200 aren't a reference for sure but their prices are rising and that's the important point
1705  Economy / Speculation / Re: [UPDATE] $1,200 HITTED (Next goal is $1,300) on: April 26, 2017, 01:37:37 AM
In preev the price is $1315 but it is biased by bitfinex which is $1375!
In the other hand $1400 will be a matter of days tho  Wink

Bitfinex $1300
The others ~$1230
Chinese exchanges $1060

They will either catch up to bitfinex or bitfinex will dump to their levels. Place your bet.
I bet $1250 for all of them in the next hours  Roll Eyes

1708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dropping like a stone on: April 10, 2017, 10:12:34 AM
people are afraid after so many falls

I guess will take some time for them to recover confidence and buy again

I think people are having more confidence in bitcoin now. The price of the altcoins are starting to drop, and bitcoin price has risen.
i think people do not interest in altcoin and there is no any service are available on altcoin and there is a lot of people like to adopt bitcoin because they know bitcoin is stronger and trusted currency because bitcoin rising its price day by day .

Well, in fact there is few services that accept altcoins payments or it pays rewards with altcoins
For example, i saw some sport betting sites accepting dogecoin, Litecoin and dash tho but of course bitcoin is by far the most popular and used crypto
1709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin progress in 2017 on: April 09, 2017, 04:38:49 PM
It has been awesome so far, quite a lot of good news surrounding BTC,although there is a debate between BTC and BTU and which is better,I think that as for now the logic choice has been made and BTC is on a good track

Choice between bitcoin and a bugged clone shouldn't be a problem but that doesn't mean that bitcoin dev don't have to improve it.
Anyway the progression this year is quite good and we can see a new records
1710  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will reach $1500? on: April 05, 2017, 12:16:05 AM
I say by the end of December for sure, but feeling the summer is a possibility as well.  Your thoughts ?

I think reaching $1500 by July isn't that hard but keep having above this value seems to be a little bit difficult, would say by the next year +$1500 as a base value is easy to have.

1712  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-27] Can Renewable Solar Power Decentralize Bitcoin Mining Operations? on: March 29, 2017, 11:38:00 AM
But the point is if "everyone" (or at least "many people") would run a solar farm - what would be the consequences? If solar mining costs decrease more, big solar (and other renewable energy) farms could emerge and would centralize the mining market again.

I'm not saying it's not a good concept, only would like to see more deep research on the topic.

I doubt bitcoin mining will be decentralised ever even if many people could arrange to obtain a free/low cost energy because simply the main problem after the cost of energy is the mining equipments
It is kinda similar to the video games, you need the latest graphic card to run the latest version of a game, but after few years...you have to buy a new graphic card again if you want to play the latest game
Well, having a renewable low cost energy is good and could reduce a little bit the decentralisation that's all
1713  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-27] Can Renewable Solar Power Decentralize Bitcoin Mining Operations? on: March 27, 2017, 09:23:28 PM
Mining bitcoin = equipments + maintenance + energy
Solar Energy = equipments + maintenance
So in fact even having a ''free'' solar energy wouldn't make bitcoin mining available for everyone because simply the equipments' prices + the maintenance costs isn't that affordable...
1714  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are the U.S. and Russia / Eastern Europe still enemies? on: March 27, 2017, 09:15:28 PM
I wouldn't call them enemies. I don't think they were ever enemies.. Just rivals. Like any emerging economy will be a rival to the US.

USSR VS USA were just rivals?
What about Cuba's missiles and such events that could led at any moment to a nuclear war...
Besides, wouldn't call Russia an emerging economy
For China it has a huge potential but still needs to improve its army with a better technology

Maybe good buy soon also in the next few minutes but the important things is to resist and stop panicking then start buying again
1716  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dropping like a stone on: March 18, 2017, 02:09:33 PM
but now i'd sell with a significant loss.
No, that will be a mistake imo, just wait and watch the charts

What made it drop?
Big whales, normal variation bump/dump, +$1000 is reassuring, time to buy?
1717  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-15] Liberstad – Buy Land in Southern Norway with Bitcoin on: March 15, 2017, 09:33:05 PM
The concept is good but it will takes a long period (+3 years) before seeing a building or even a road out there...
We will see ++

1719  Economy / Speculation / Re: ATH on all major exchanges!! on: March 03, 2017, 12:22:57 AM
to be honest right now I really doubt that the price of the bitcoin is going to go down in just a couple of days, the bitcoin price seems to be really strong at the moment and there are some big buy orders on big prices like 1250 so there are no signs that it will go down any time soon. We are soon going to reach even higher prices than it is right now, and i wouldn't expect the growth to stop until at least 1500 dollars.

Hope so also but I would expect a correction especially with the big gaps between exchanges up to $100
1720  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 03, 2017, 12:07:47 AM
Bottom at $1250, I confirm.

Gdax leading with $1270 and the others between $1257 and $1270 except btc-e
And look to the Chinese - $100 difference lol, between $1150-1180  Tongue
