It has been a difficult season for Liverpool so far with just four wins from 12 Premier League games, drawing four and losing four. There are only two rounds of Premier League games to come before the World Cup break and Liverpool will be hoping to end it on a high. Teams like Club Brugge and Frankfurt seem to be the most in trouble teams on paper now. Because there aren't many teams that they can eliminate among the group winners. Club Brugge missed the chance of finishing the group stage in the lead by a small difference actually. Porto have taken it from them like in the last moment.
On the other hand, Club Brugge at least seem more promising than Frankfurt. They at least have some experience in the Champions League and they might prevent a disastrous result against some of the teams. But I can't say the same for Frankfurt. I see only Porto as a team that they might be able to eliminate. But they also have recovered a lot recently. This might be the end of the road for them. I don't want to say they are the most problematic team in the last 16, but I have to realize that they will be the unfavorable team in the match against a stronger team. On paper quality speaks for itself, and on the pitch it will be different but I don't expect these two teams to make it to the semi-finals. My guess is that their journey will only reach the last 16 this season if Manchester City, Napoli or Real Madrid are the opponents. We might think badly of them that Club Brugge and Frankfurt will not qualify for this round of 16 but the facts on the pitch will be different maybe we don't know but for sure there will be one of the big teams that will fail in this phase. Roma are really going to have it tough in tonight's game, they need to beat Ludogorets to earn a chance to qualify to the next round. I don't think Jose Mourinho would like to settle for a draw.
The big question is, can Mourinho do it again by qualifying his team to the round of 16? Being 4th in the league is like a morale booster to make them beat the away team at home, as it is they are coming out with everything they have got and I don't see them going for a draw... IMO is a must win for the Italian side.
Roma's game is always up and down and unpredictable despite playing at the Stadio Olimpico as the host but this time Jose will work hard with the players to win the match with Ludogorets which is one of their targets to qualify and finish as runners-up. I think that Chelsea has a big chance to win the match due to Potter knowing the Brighton team really well.
