I was going to get 4 WoF spins after few days but somehow I have started receiving it few days back.
I remember locking my FUN tokens for 90 days few days back. Was it because of that the WoF spins increased early ?
Just a curiosity.

Normally not, it is calculated on the amount of FUN tokens you have, independent if you lock them or not. Do you have any plans to increase you FUN tokens to get to the higher rank of the premium membership? I currently have a bit more than 12500 tokens and I am happy with that, also because of the higher daily interest you get.

Well I am not holding much BTC in my freebitco.in account and so the higher interest rate doesn't matter for me as of now.
May be in future if I deposit some sats in my freebitco.in account to get interest returns then may be I will increase my FUN token count as well.
For the time being this would be my total count for FUN tokens.
1702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why 95% online Gambling websites are Scam? on: October 08, 2022, 01:04:09 PM
You say most of the gambling websites are scam just because the edge is on the sites' side which is true.
But that doesn't mean that they are scam because it is a business. It is how gambling sites work.
We tend to lose money because the edge is on the casino site's side and it is logical for them to win in the long run.
These gambling websites are just meant for fun and not a way to earn. So you can't really say that they are a scam.
Yes, there are some gambling sites which are meant for scamming others by locking the deposits etc... and that's a separate thing.

1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum is Swap is costly after the Ethereum merger 2.0 on: October 07, 2022, 03:59:50 PM
As far as I know the fees was not going to reduce because of the merge at all. It was going to happen after the sharding implementation.
So I guess what zasad@ is saying is correct. It must be because of the low demand in the bear market which has caused the decrease in price.
1705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB Blockchain hack! on: October 07, 2022, 03:48:50 PM
Well it was on the binance smart chain and hacker would have found a vulnerability to exploit it.
Security of binance is pretty good though. Since users funds are safe, this news hasn't made much of a panic among the people.
Binance has handled the situation by halting the binance smart chain which is against decentralization but if not done so then the hacker would have stole more.
If this doesn't happen again then good because this is the second time a hack has happened in the binance ecosystem.
The third one might send a negative signal around the people.
1706  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto lender Celsius mulls possible restructuring amid financial woes on: October 07, 2022, 02:16:37 PM
There is an article that was published in a mainstream media outlet saying that Celsius executives have withdrawn at least $17 million of their money before freezing withdrawals for their customers. However, this is not the only problem. It appears Celsius has also made public a court document containing all their users' names, transaction times, and amounts of deposits and withdrawals. This is certainly a very serious breach of privacy.

Gizmodo has uploaded the latest Celsius court filing, which totals over 14,000 pages, to the Internet Archive for anyone who really wants to get into the nitty gritty of the bankruptcy case. It appears the filing is so large because it seems to have the names and recent transactions of every user on the platform.

Damn, is that true ?
Even I heard that Celsius made a court document public which had 14000 pages worth information about their users details which included transaction details as well as KYC details.
That is a huge security breach. I wondered why did Celsius did that but I didn't know that it has also withdrawn $17 million from their funds.
Seems like an exit scam.
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Some People think that long term Bitcoin holding is a dumb idea? on: October 06, 2022, 02:46:25 PM
Whether it be short term or long term, both of them have their own advantages as well as disadvantages.
We cannot really say either of them as the best one but as per history people who have been holding for a long term have got more profits especially in crypto.
One can try doing both and can find out which one works well for them.
I have tried both as well but for me long term holding have made good profits when compared to other trading methods.
That is why I prefer sticking to long term trading.
1708  Economy / Gambling / Re: Maybe Yet to be seen? on: October 06, 2022, 02:32:28 PM
Maybe I am not looking enough? That's why I decided to ask you all these questions

1. Is it possible for NFTs to coexist with a crypto-gambling project?

2. What usefulness do you think 🤔 could make NFTs useful for crypto gamblers?

3. Is there any real-time ( LIVE ) crypto gambling platform where friends from around the world can come together either through web3 kinda like or just live video to gamble on the platform?

This post should be moved to gambling discussion.

To answer your question
1. Is it possible for NFTs to coexist with a crypto-gambling project?

Yes ofcourse, I had this thought previously and NFTs can go well with gambling since gambling involves games.

Quote
2. What usefulness do you think 🤔 could make NFTs useful for crypto gamblers?

NFTs can either be used as rewards which users can trade or it can be used as in game purchases such as avatars that can be used in gambling.
There are many other ways the possibilities are endless.

3. Is there any real-time ( LIVE ) crypto gambling platform where friends from around the world can come together either through web3 kinda like or just live video to gamble on the platform?

Not sure of any.

Won the bet again  Tongue This one was quite expected though. I mean the chances of ETH staying in the range of $1000 - $1500 was really high.
For my overall bet price I gained some decent 891 sats profit. Although its not much but its fun to win a bet than lose one.

Congrats, @pawanjain! That's a decent profit indeed, because winning is always a decent thing, no matter what was the stake.

I myself have abandoned betting with significant amounts long time ago, because if you lose those bets it's painful. And it doesn't matter whether you feel you are expert in the field or not. Several years ago I was betting on Oscars on 3 different sites, including freebitco.in, becaue I considered myself an expert in that department. I bet over $60 in total, and I won back less than $10, and now I don't want to repeat that mistake.

Any profit is still a profit. Congrats, mate!

Thanks mate. But I hope when you say you have abandoned betting with significant amounts I assume you are still betting but with lower amounts.
You didn't completely stop betting did you ? Winning or losing is part of the game. We can enjoy the bet/game as long as we are not worried of the outcome.
There should be only the excitement to see whether you win or not.
1710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is BEAR Market In Stock Market Like Cryptocurrency Market? on: October 05, 2022, 02:15:16 PM
In most cases, the bear markets in cryptocurrency have lasted around 2-3 years whereas in stock markets it has lasted longer.
Cryptocurrency is still in its early stage and hence the volatility is high in crypto market and in the long term the price of bitcoin have always broken its ATH.
The price of various cryptocurrencies are going up in the long run. In a nutshell while the stock market and crypto market do have some similarities, crypto market is fast moving with high volatility.
1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think this is gambling? [Collectibles & Gambling] on: October 05, 2022, 02:01:12 PM
No this is definitely not gambling to me. Its more like a trade to me because if I get the lucky card then the most obvious thing I would do is sell it and get the money.
If I was a collectible holder then I would put it in my collectibles but otherwise just sell it and get the money.
So basically you are buying something and selling it and that comes under trading doesn't it.

1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How I feel about play to earn games on: October 05, 2022, 01:25:59 PM
OP is kinda right there needs to be fun in the game. Besides that people should focus on the fun part rather than the earning.
Also, it might be that at some point the game will itself become boring and in order for that not to happen the developer should keep bringing flavor to that game.
People will only keep playing as long as it is fun playing the game.

There needs to be a balance between the two, which can only create fun but not earn money, then I think gamers will choose traditional games. Blockchain games want to attract real players from traditional games, they can't just create an attractive, entertaining game of a game, besides they have to create an environment that can earn money, just like the name of play to earn.

Honestly, this is extremely difficult not easy, as we have seen how quickly previous p2e game projects have failed. It takes a combination of blockchain developers and traditional game developers to create such a game.

The main problem comes when generating revenue out of the P2E games. Firstly they have to make enough money so that they can reward the players.
Secondly they have to generate enough revenue so they can still be profitable. Thirdly they have to keep a track of the markets so they can keep the P2E game at sustainable profits.
Yes all of this is definitely hard and I guess that is why many projects would have failed.
1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Generate Profit in this bear time? on: October 03, 2022, 04:37:28 PM
In many days i see in my port filo 5$ up and 5$ down , what is the best strategy to increase profit?

I think you are really late to ask this question because we are almost at the bottom of this bear market I guess.
You could have made profits from the bear market when the price of bitcoin went below $45k.
You could have sold at high and bought back lower. Right now the only thing you can do is stake your coins or hold them tight until the bulls return.
1715  Local / India / Re: New Indian blockchain forum on: October 03, 2022, 04:32:16 PM
I wasn't able to find the name of the forum though.
None of the articles has mentioned the link of the forum too.

What do you guys think about this forum ?

Source: India blockchain forum plans to chart future with governments, regulators

A forum does not mean a web forum always, it can be a group that is meeting offline.  As it was meant in those days when the internet was not available. What this forum will do is help the government create blockchain software that will only help the government and not the crypto community. This is what i was able to deduce from the article.

You are right at your place that forum doesn't always have to be a web forum, it can certainly be an offline forum as well.
But I was just looking for their website and that didn't necessarily mean it has to be a web forum too.
By the way, I just found the website and here it is https://www.indiablockchainforum.in/

1717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can whitepaper still shows the weakness of a project and their team on: October 02, 2022, 12:33:04 PM
For newbies is a copied whitepaper still a red flag for projects? I heard they don't matter much anymore because big projects do the same thing too, if two projects have the same goals or utility one can copy the other, change some few words here and there?

What advice can you give me based on this? Is it right to say, yo any project that has a whitepaper that looks like another project is a scam or  bad for investment.

Ofcourse yes. The potential projects will definitely work hard to make their whitepaper define the actual potential of their project.
They would want the people to understand what they are making and they will want people to support them.
If a project is having a whitepaper which is matching with other projects then it is mostly a scam project.
Besides that, if there isn't anything new to bring to the table why would people invest in that project anyway.
1718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When Bottom? on: October 02, 2022, 12:25:57 PM
Taking a look at prices at coinmarketcap isn't giving me hope we are at the end of the bear market yet.
But the charts and the overpriced assets (Shiba Inu, Dogecoin, etc.) are not the only indicators.

There's an event we are waiting for that should finally end and that's no other than the MtGox coins release. Certainly, Bitcoin's price is decisive for the whole market.

Maybe the release of 100,000 BTC will not be that damaging. Sure if everyone sells, we will find new levels, but right now, I think it is the only event investors wait to begin buying both Bitcoin and altcoins.
Nobody wants to buy fearing MtGox holders will dump their 9 year forced-hodled coins. Maybe they won't but it is fear of a dump that blocks many investors at this point.
The soonest the MtGox BTC are released, the better for everyone in this market. The FUD will end, and if prices drop then we get a discount.

You do have a point but on the other hand we can also consider this that everyone has seen the ATH.
Keeping that in mind do you think people will actually sell their coins at a 70% discount from it's ATH.
If you were about to get those bitcoins, would you really sell it at such low prices ? I wouldn't.
So this may actually give a pump in bitcoins price thinking that people are holding such huge amount of coins.
1719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this statiscally possible in a lottery? on: October 02, 2022, 12:20:05 PM
Just because all the numbers in the lottery are divisible by 9 it doesn't mean that the lottery is rigged.
It might just be a mere coincidence. As you are saying they draw the lottery live then we can give them the edge in that case.
But yeah, if this happens on a frequent basis may be then we can raise this question on them.
You can take out all the previous draws and compare them to find a matching pattern.
1720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Describe what Bitcoin has done for you on: October 02, 2022, 11:48:20 AM
Bitcoin is a remarkable technology and it has made me into a different person today.
I learnt to be patient since I have witnesses the bull and bear cycles.
I learnt to have some discipline by regularly investing in bitcoin at different time intervals.
I cultivated the habit of saving more just so that I can invest more.
Bitcoin also improved my vocabulary since reading and posting on this forum enhanced my grammatical skills.
Bitcoin gave me some really cool friends on this forum from whom I get to learn a lot of things.
Finally bitcoin made me stick to the technology and made me an independent person which I am today.
