801  Local / India / Re: P2P Trade for Indian board members on: July 15, 2023, 03:15:24 PM
The idea is good but the problem will be creating the volume required for trading from the Indian board is not going to be enough. Since it's a known fact that Indian board is not having many active members and even those who are necessarily need to have interest in trading so doing this may not bring any considerable change in my opinion.

You can post a poll and call for members to see how many of them are actually interested in doing p2p via forum will get conclusive answer.

But I think we relatively have too less people on the forum to actually make a successfull P2P trading forum. I don't really think just 10-15 people would be able to make a good platform. I like other countries like Phillipines and Indonesia doing the same many times but their strength of people is the only reason why they are successfully able to do that. but yes we can surely give it a try.

Yes, volume is definitely an issue but I though if there will be match then well and good otherwise we can still trade on other platforms.
But reading the opinions from other members on this thread it is clear that P2P trading on Indian board is not really a good option because of privacy concerns.
I wonder how other local boards are operating P2P trading. Aren't they scared of revealing their identities ?
802  Economy / Gambling / Re: Where should I play? Asking for recommendations. on: July 15, 2023, 02:56:24 PM
Hello, I been a long time sportsbetting player and have using Stake the last two years, I almost only play sportsbetting, but sometimes I can play maybe Slots & BJ to.
Sine it's impossible to win on Slots & BJ on Stake.. its not an option, but since they had their good monthly bonus so I always got back some money is the reason I did choose and was loyal to Stake.
Now when its more important for them to have Drake streaming and "throwing away money" then give back to their customers I am gonna stop play there and start a journey on another website.
(Since now everything is nerfed on the website I cant even call Stake for a online casino anymore)

Since I been member here for couple of months, you see many sportsbetting website using this "KYC argument" when players want to cash out big winnings, so I don't want a casino that allow me to gamble and deposit but not withdrawal my earnings, be honest and you will get honestly and loyalty from me as a customer.

So now I am asking all people on the forum, where do you play and do you recommend me to play there to? (You can link affiliate is totally OK for at least me) but be honest in your intentions!
I am not a high roller, but I play quite a lot monthly...

You can try betting on duelbits which is one of the most reputed gambling sites.
They have a sleek UI and you will have fun playing and betting on duelbits.
You can check their active promotions for sports in the below link.

Almost 4% down today, this qualifies at least a little as a trip and tumble for BTC.   At the same time it barely matters as its a reset or boomerang back to where we began, its just a blip so I figure its a fair time for me to use up the saved spins in this virtual dilemena over whether to wait for a nicer prize or use it near term.  I already have settled that BTC is appreciably 'ok' into the longer term picture, its not always great but its slowly recovering imo hence waiting for higher prize or a lower BTC is not quite sensible.   So I might take the opportunity of a down day to use up my spins and recommend others do too.
The only thing is that its all or nothing in the choices, there is a use all button (which I dont think was there to begin with, hazy memory) and the use 1 by 1 button which will take forever to do as I have many.   So its all or nothing for me,  I will look at the DXY and possibly various news but I see no reason not to use up the spins today.    For very basic reasons I gain interest on the BTC winnings etc.  might as well just use them up then.

I think the options for claiming WoF spin were like this since the beginning. It was either one by one or all at once.
But yeah, this does show up like a genuine requirement from the users and may be TheQuin can help with this if majority of us folks feel this to be implemented.
I personally will not find this useful for myself because I don't hold WoF spins for a longer time.
The maximum I accumulate is around 50-100 spins and I spin them all at once.
804  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: July 15, 2023, 02:20:40 PM
I also support what you say, and well, what better example than the bets that Qatar lost in the World Cup, and surely in the match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia many bet in favor of Argentina, and what was the surprise, that Argentina lost and that is something that nobody expected, but soccer gave us that surprise, well that and many more, so sometimes knowledge in sports betting also fails, but because we do not have direct interaction with the players, we really do not know how to they feel when they go to play, we only know the information from the interviews and what the media do, as well as what they themselves declare.

Sports betting has a lot to do with the knowledge of the person to bet on, it is not random, it is known that what influences here is knowledge because it is what is known, for me it is the most important thing, but our emotions and it has happened to me, I know that my team is not doing very well, and that it has the majority of players on the bench to play, and they are the ones that are going to put their faces there the most, so even so knowing that they can lose Because that is how the probability indicates it, I bet in favor of them and of course sometimes I end up losing, that is something that I have not yet been able to control.

Emotions are something that is difficult to control, we do not have the coldness that a robot does and that makes us lose money, but when it is lost, at least I feel that I did not do it wrong and only with that feeling is that one consoles himself.

It's true that even if we have good knowledge about a particular sport, chances are we might lose the bet.
We think that we might win the bet we are placing on the match but sometimes the luck doesn't favor us.
Also, knowing the player personally won't do any good in matches where a team is required.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You must do this if you want to QUIT or NOT on: July 14, 2023, 03:37:44 PM
Things we must do to stop gambling according to experts:
Quote
1. Recognize the problem
2. Remove the stigma
3. Confide in a love one
4. Seek professional health
5. Adjust as needed
Source: https://www.forbes.com/health/mind/how-to-stop-gambling-expert-advice/

Now, if you still want to gamble but you don't want to become addicted to it, one of the things you should do in my opinion is:

1. Only set aside an amount of money that you will use to gamble in a casino.
2. Don't think that you will gamble to make money, because if you do that, you will surely have a problem later.
3. Just spend a few hours staying in a casino to gamble so you can avoid what you don't realize is wasting time that you should be spending on important things instead of gambling.

If it were so easy then nobody would be addicted to gambling by now and everyone would be living in peace.
Addiction is so powerful for people that while they know these things to stop gambling yet they fail to do so.
The only thing that can help such people decrease their addiction is a strong will power.
With that they will be able to follow the above steps and only with that they will be able to quit gambling.
806  Local / India / Re: Government has found another way to boost its Revenue from Tax on: July 14, 2023, 03:31:42 PM
Whether the Cinema hall owner reduce the food price after this reduction of GST rate is still debatable. .

That is what I was wondering and I think they won't reduce the cost now since they know people are still willing to pay the cost for their food.
Now that GST has decreased it directly means their profit margin would increase, provided, they don't change the cost of their food.

This was sheer stupidity by the government to be honest. Online betting I do understand was a crazy thing going around but you should bring in proper laws to make sure online betting can be stopped. Coming to online gaming, slamming GST on it is sheer stupidity. I am surprised this decision comes after a few days since Dream11 became sponsor of BCCI, interesting to see what happens to their contract now.

Hasn't BCCI already restricted their sponsors from putting crypto or online gaming related ads ?
I remember reading such a news few months back. It's quite certain that no such ads will be displayed on cricket stadiums and jerseys now.
807  Local / India / Re: P2P Trade for Indian board members on: July 14, 2023, 03:11:31 PM
I personally think that the Indian board should have a P2P thread open in case they have something to trade.
Its better to trade with trusted people than to trade on other P2P channels like Binance P2P.
The chances of getting scammed or account frozen are relatively high on other platforms than on this thread.
Only active Indian board members will be allowed to trade on this thread.

I want you guys' suggestions so that I can convert this thread to a P2P trade channel. Otherwise I will just lock it up if nobody is interested.

We already have marketplace in Indian board where we can create a thread for buying or selling anything including crypto.

I don't think there is many traders from India here anyway. Mostly newbies trying to trade. Without escrow nobody should and would trade with these newbies.

P2P platforms like Binance are much safer when you trade with anonymous people because they have verified their profile.
If any scam occur, matter can be reported to them and they can take action against the scammer.

Marketplace section makes sense but is Binance P2P really that safe though ?
I think I have read somewhere that people's bank accounts were frozen because the money was coming from an illegal source.
I don't have the link to that post handy or may be I read it on other platform.

Binance P2P is the worst place to trade as there are too many scammers buying cryptocurrency and paying scam money. Avoid any Indian P2P at the moment if you do not want to get your bank account frozen. As @Heisenberg_Hunter said forum P2P is a bad idea because it will reveal everyone's identity. We are here because we love anonymity and through it we have build a trust around us.

See now that's what I am talking about. Binance P2P isn't safer too because there are people involved in trading illegal money which can lead to bank accounts getting frozen.
I do agree with all of you though that this forum might not be the best idea to initiate a P2P trade for INR pair.

We can use bisq, wherein anyone can create a trading request for BTC/INR and INR/ BTC. I created a thread that can be used to for tax free trading within our community. Go ahead and check it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5443291.0 Regarding anonymity! Share your UPI address that is based on mobile number. I know it is possible to find out the source of that mobile number but it doesn't give the name of the exact person. It is good if you guys can open a new bank account only for P2P transactions.

It does give the name of the person doesn't it ?

As soon as I enter my UPI id on online payment gateways and click on verify it shows me my name.
But I guess that's only thing that is publicly available. A good thing is that it doesn't reveal the bank account details.

It's really a huge thing for the crypto community because this one approval can create a massive pump in bitcoin price all together.
The long awaited bull run can kick off, taking a huge surge in price. I guess it's more about when than if now.
What I am wondering is what would happen if the SEC rejects the application from Black Rock.
Does anyone has any thoughts ?

Guys, look. Just for you to know that it's still possible Smiley

I won this huge amount of lottery tickets a few days ago. And although I didn't win anything in the latest Lottery Round 423, winning 100x of the basic prize on the Wheel of Fortune made me feel good for a second for sure. Smiley

You got the guts to roll in this down rates so yeah it’s good for you mate. This would have been 5000 in the normal price zone of the bitcoin. I am also thinking to roll but not yet. I still need 750 or something WOF to add so that I can reach the mark of 2000 WOF. Since I have already seen many users rolling their 2k rolls and making million Satoshi just like that makes me more happy to see that. I want to achieve that mark as well. I just hope whenever I will roll them I will see bitcoin prices already higher and getting 5k RP or 5k sats while I’m rolling. Gonna be fun for sure. Congratulation for your win as well.

What normal zone are you talking about because there isn't any.
Yes, the base reward was 50 sats/RP few weeks back with highest reward at 5k sats/RP but that isn't gonna stay forever and to be honest we never know if the reward is going back to those rates or not.
What if you the rewards further decreases because of increase in bitcoin price and never comes at this rate again ?
In that case you will lose the current opportunity you have.

There are equal chances of rate going back to 50 sats/RP again but if someone is claiming their spins now I don't think it's a bad idea.
They are probably just using what they have in their hand right now. Matter of fact I just spin the WoF spins last week and won 3900 RP myself.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling on: July 13, 2023, 04:05:57 PM
  • Lack of Loss Chasing
When you lose, you do not attempt to bet more and more, with the mindset of winning back what you’ve lost. Rather you "leave" to bet another day.

From the whole list of points you have mentioned in OP this is the only one which I don't have my control on.
It's more like I don't chase losses many times but sometimes I do and when I do it's all in for the losses.
Either I win or I lose it all and to be honest I get a different thrill doing that but that doesn't really mean I am addicted to gambling.
I wait for some days until I am able to gamble again and I don't really feel sad about it too.

But in the forum, you don't need to learn to gamble. Investing in BTC or to an Altcoin is already a a gamble.[/b]

LOL, the last sentence really got me laughing. There are few people who seriously consider investing in bitcoin as gambling.
Although there is a resemblance between gambling and trading/investing but in the later we are doing our analysis and predicting the price to increase/decrease.
In gambling, we are more dependent on luck and the market trend has no role to play in gambling.
But the fact that learning to trade/invest in bitcoin and altcoins is far better than "learning to gamble".
People always think that investing in bitcoin is the same as gambling or betting on it, but it's strange that they don't think that way, while betting on gambling platforms when they lose they will lose everything, while betting investing in bitcoin or other altcoins for example if the price drops it won't disappear. all bitcoins and altcoins that have been bought but only decreased in value.

People have to learn about it that never equate gambling with investing in bitcoin, because obviously it is very different, learning to gamble has risks learning to invest also has risks everything has the same risks, what is different is gambling with the risk of losing everything and the one who invests has risk of losing value.  Cheesy]

That is indeed a valid point that not everyone thinks about. At the end of the day, no matter what the price is, we still hold the coins whereas in gambling we don't.
By investing in crypto, we still have the chance to take out the money because the price declines rather slowly (excluding scams/hacks) giving us the time to react whereas in gambling it is instant.
These points are enough to prove that investing in crypto is way better than gambling. Gambling should be done only for fun.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is more important for crypto users? on: July 12, 2023, 05:09:49 PM
Can you explain me why i need to learned gambling?

Simply put, here only millions of money are managed by asset owners, so where i have no money. In fact, i have ideas about gambling, but I don't have the ability to spend money there.

There are two things I would like to say you.

1. If you are asking this question means that you don't have enough knowledge about gambling.
It's actually good because trust me, you don't have to learn gambling. It's better to stay away and actually learn skills like trading and value investing.

2. Gambling is for those who already have a lot of money and don't care if they lose some of it.
It's not for those who already have less money because they will eventually lose whatever they have.

More often than not, its actually those with less money are the ones that gambles. Base from my experience and I know them because they are my neighbors who also live in this rural country side of mine. Every payday, these guys travels miles to the town to find women and back in the barracks to gamble while getting drunk.

The supervisors and the bosses are just there to give then beers to celebrate the day and then go home to their family. Never took part of their gambling frenzy.
Those rich guys who gambles I guess are gamblers already before they got rich.

But in the forum, you don't need to learn to gamble. Investing in BTC or to an Altcoin is already a a gamble.

815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 12, 2023, 04:40:17 PM
Gambling is risky and can drain our bank accounts; I often felt remorse for my takes action, but it was only temporary, and the next day, I returned to gambling, and this time, I used everything at my disposal, disregarding the repercussions. That is completely one of the characteristics of an addict, ready to place anything valuable to raise money for gambling, but that was my previous life, and I'm a changed guy with good examples. I bet frequently, and I'm able to regulate the amount of my gambling rate; I gamble twice on weekends, and only on games that I'm confident about; if it goes according to my predictions, I enjoy; if it goes against my predictions, I lose; in any case, I liked.

It's not bad to gamble but gambling above your budget is. We should know how much we can afford to lose and only gamble within our limits.
It's always good to acknowledge your mistake and do the right thing. While you knew you were spending more on gambling you still took control started saving.
Not everyone has the capability to do that. Make sure you stick to it and never fall for the money making through gambling trap again.

I agree with you, and I must say that gambling above one's budget is the riskiest thing and one should avoid it at any cost. The ones who get addicted to gambling will gamble without any limits and they lose almost everything with such a low-level habit. One should also be careful to not gamble when his/her mind is in a bad state because in those times people often want to have gratification in the form of winning and unfortunately they forget about the limits. It's always better and secure to gamble only when you are in good modes and your mind is in a happy state, and also to stick to the limits in order to not lose everything in a sitting.

That's a good point actually. Gambling when you are in a positive mood is more beneficial than when you are not.
I remember gambling when I was kind of angry because of losing and then I started chasing the losses in anger and emptied my gambling account.
There's no point in gambling like this and should be avoided at all times.
816  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Multiple timeframes is another means of getting better market clarity on: July 12, 2023, 04:09:48 PM
As for the timeframes, I mostly stick to 3 timeframes 1D, 1H and 15m which are ideal for me right now.
I must say that this is a very good combination. If one would want to use very large time frames like 1Y, 1M and even 1W, there are other sets of timeframes that work best with them, and the same thing goes for the combining in which the highest timeframe is 1D like yours.

In 3 combinations, I love settings like (1Y, 1M and 1W), (1W, 1D and 4H) and (1D, 1H and 15m) which is yours.

Did you just say 1Y. That must be really huge. I have never went past 1M which I rarely read.
For me it has mostly been 1W for the highest time frame and it gives me enough data to analyze the trend.
What do you generally read when you are looking at 1M and 1Y ?
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My personal savings now I will invest in Bitcoin on: July 12, 2023, 03:55:21 PM
I have been thinking about trading in Bitcoin for quite some time now. I have been involved with Bitcoin for a long time but am still thinking about investing here. I used to run DPS in bank for 30 dollars per month for 5 years, this DPS will complete 5 years this month. I'll get roughly $1800, I don't think it's much of a savings to keep that money in the bank. Bangladesh is suffering from severe dollar crisis due to which many banks are likely to go bankrupt. The names of those banks have not yet been published by any mass media. Because of the economic condition of Bangladesh, I want to invest my money in Bitcoin. I still don't understand if my decision is right, please let me know your opinion

Given your situation, I would be more likely to diversify my portfolio into bitcoin, fiat, gold and bonds.
Bitcoin might give better returns but depending on the availability in your country you may or may not be able to encash it at the right time.
Gold might give decent returns and you will be able to encash it since it can be easily sold at shops and so it will help you in case of any emergency.
You can hold some fiat cash with you so that you don't face any liquidity crisis and can plan things out accordingly.
You can hold bonds in case the banks go bankrupt then bond holders will still be on the safer side.

If I were you then I would divide my portfolio in below criteria
Bitcoin - 30%
Gold - 30%
Bonds - 20%
Fiat cash - 20%
snip
With the amount of $ 1800 in my opinion too small to be diversified, let alone divide it into 4 parts it will make the assets a little, for example as in Bitcoin, he will only save it $ 540, in my opinion it is too small in the investment scale. It is better for him to keep it all in Bitcoin by using a DCA strategy, for example 10% or $ 180 per month which in my opinion is safer and more likely to benefit, moreover we will see Bitcoin Halving, of course the potential is greater, after all it's a savings fund that he might not be too requires it for short -range needs except the situation it has the opposite.

I have laid out a general portfolio distribution and it depends on OP how he has to invest his savings.
In OP's case I would rather advice him to invest in bitcoin or gold or may be equally in both.
Since he mentioned a dollar fiat crisis in his country he should have some plan to liquidate his asset in case of emergency.
Gold will be a suitable option in that case.

Review for Utopia

Day 1:
When I started reviewing the Utopia software application on desktop there were some issues going on with the CRP blockchain.
I know it’s not a good sign for a blockchain to halt but it happens sometimes with new projects.
I verified if everything was good at my end by visiting the network dashboard in the software and everything was fine at my end.
What got me worried was that the payment engine was stopped which makes sense since the blockchain was having some issues at the moment.

Day 2:
I tried their mining feature through UAM on a VPS and according to my calculation 1 bot requires a 4 CPU with 8 GB RAM running on debian and costs around $48.
The current block reward is around 0.002 CRP. It takes 15 minutes for 1 block to be mined which gives us around 5.76 CRP in 30 days.
Considering the current price of $0.5 UUSD per CRP we get around $2.88 UUSD which is very low.
So I think the block rewards are very low and it is not a good option to mine on a VPS. Still I will keep the bot running on the VPS for a month and see the rewards and edit this post later.

The software is good though and I didn’t find anything off. The interface is decent enough and I really liked the chat and uMail.
I tried faucet displayed on the official site but didn’t receive any tokens in my public address.
Also, I tried their swap feature but due to some technical issues the swap didn’t happen and an error was displayed.

Day 3:

Everything seems to be working fine now. The network dashboard is showing all green and I have also received the faucet earning.
The mining bot is also working as expected and has already started finding blocks.
The swap feature is also working fine and I guess it was just the temporary technical issue with the blockchain causing all the previous issues.
Overall I feel Utopia is a promising platform and one should definitely try it once if they are concerned about their privacy and like to stay off the grid.

I wonder if the major populous will ever catch on to the central banking scammers. Or its Titanic all over again. This time for countries

Indian population is so big that if a handful of few like us understand what is the motive behind all of this new financial technology, it won't affect the government. The majority will still follow the government policy without even questioning the reason. We Indians do not have any issues with any government policy until the policy becomes a problem for us individually. The best example is the cryptocurrency tax which has resulted in so many issues this year. Before that none of us had any issues with the tax, even though they were never friendly for the middle class.

Also regarding this remember that time Vitalik donated billions to indian govt when they wanted to ban Crypto ?

I wonder if they payed 30% tax for that.

That was a big gesture from Vitalik at a time when the country was struggling with the COVID-19 virus. Remembering those days still gives me chills and by the way that money went was meant for relief work. The government never disclosed what it did with that amount and never even confessed that it was a great help from Vitalik publically.

Tax law was not applicable at that time.

Vitalik had donated around $1 billion worth of cryptocurrencies to the Covid 19 relief fund for India.
