What is the easiest method of powering the 5-chip model?

I can offer .25

No can do.  I got 0.29 for the last one and it had some issues as well as the BTC price being higher then...  Appreciate the offer though.  When the weather changes and it isn't keeping me warm, I will be more likely to accept a lowball.  Smiley

Ah, but the lifetime expected return has dropped considerably.

I feel you.  The price of the device hasn't though.  For example, here is a current eBay auction for the same card:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAPPHIRE-Vapor-X-AMD-Radeon-HD-7970-GHz-Edition-6GB-/221364972637?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item338a616c5d

It is going for $455 with more than 12 hours to go.  I don't expect to get eBay pricing, but I'd like to get within 15% or so.  In any event, 0.25 BTC is WAY too low.

FYI that is a 6gb card and they tend to go for a lot more than the 3gb versions. Is yours a 6gb card?

Mine is a 3gb ghz edition.  So, this EXACT card:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAPPHIRE-AMD-Radeon-HD-7970-GHz-Edition-D5-3GB-Vapor-X-GDDR5-Graphic-Card-/291035350386?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item43c30f0572

That being said, I'll lower my asking price to $400 in BTC.

The internet uplink for the nastyfans Bitcoin processing server shows problems. 33% packet loss. I notified the ISP. I wait for them to respond.

All purchase orders are queued and payments will not be lost. The web interface is on a different server with a different internet uplink. It is functional.

so I guess it will automatically/detect update my account after server is up.

bought a seat when I saw cheaper bitcoin prices yesterday..

No worries, you will be taken care of.  Smiley

If you ship to confirmed addresses with signature confirmation and select no returns, eBay isn't a scam concern... However, I don't want USD or to pay paypal fees, so I'm offering at less than the going rate. There's no reason to get upset that I won't sell at a ridiculous price. Make an offer or don't. Your opinion on what the price should be is less credible than eBay and I have no need to sell this at the moment, so I really don't care if you think a 15% discount to eBay is too expensive. Each day it mines more LTC for me and heats my home. Not a bad reason to wait a couple months to get my asking price.
17166  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 7970 Sapphire Vapor-X for BTC/LTC on: February 06, 2014, 08:19:14 PM
I can't justify spending that much when I can't make it back. I impulsively bought a 290X, when the price was $600, and then watched the price jump $100 over the next few days. I've almost ROI'd that card, but the 7970 would be more of a pain. I already have an XFX 7970, so I kinda wanted to make it symmetrical.

No worries.  As you can see from the eBay auction ending at over $500, these cards are heavily in demand.  If anyone would like a discount to the going rate on eBay, along with paying in BTC, the offer is here.  I'll accept $450 in BTC.

I recently submitted a Bitcoin themed iOS app to Apple and their only concern before approving it was if Bitcoins could be withdraw from the website the app supported.  Perhaps they are concerned they will be tied to money transmitting if you can use their app to directly move Bitcoin from point A to point B.

It is a little disturbing to see a 3rd party offer an app like this.  I had similar concerns when having my app developed for nastyfans.org.  Ultimately, I decided that I needed to review, rewrite, build, and upload the source code myself to a developer account in which I was the only person that had access in order to safeguard nastyfans.org users.  I couldn't imagine trusting something like this to a 3rd party.

Yup.

I have 1 more of these for sale.  The ball bearings on it actually aren't bad.  It has currently been running flawlessly for several weeks without making a sound.  However, in the past it did freeze up on a couple occasions.  Whenever it has frozen up in the past, a little canned air gets it running normal again.  Just want to be totally open about it.

If someone would like this beauty, feel free to make an offer.
17173  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1oz .999 Silver Physical Bitcoin NastyFans Seats on: February 05, 2014, 06:15:10 AM
Let's say that after 5 years, a NastyFans coin has accumulated about 5 BTC (wouldn't that be nice) - when I take the hologram off the back and swipe the BTC, does the now-exposed coin continue to receive dividends?

If you wanted, you could send the coin back and have the seat un-minted back to your NastyFans.org account.  You would also receive a payment for the silver in the coin.

CoinTerra is offering compensation to early adopters of its latest TerraMiner IV mining rigs, based on the GoldStrike I ASIC.

All customers who ordered the first batch of TerraMiner IV units, scheduled to ship in December, will now receive a second rig, free of charge.

Is this us?

No. Unfortunately, we were a January batch. Looks like we're only getting a discount coupon on a future order.
17175  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | NASTY POOL on: February 01, 2014, 10:20:29 AM
Are there any thoughts on additional ways that we can get the word out there for the Minted seats? I don't know how many more there are "in stock", but it would be great to have all of us fans helping spread the word in some way or other..

There are currently 412 more minted seats waiting to find homes.  At the current price, that represents 57.68 BTC in potential donations to NastyFans.

Promotion is not a strength of mine, but I try to spread the word.  I'm open to suggestions on the subject.  The easiest thing to do would be to include a link in your signature here or on other Bitcoin forums where we don't have a presence.  Here is what I use (feel free to alter it or make your own)...

Some news on our Black Arrow Prospero order...

Quote
We have to inform you that our schedule to manufacture and assemble the system has been disrupted and we are unable to make delivery of the Batch 1 Minion ASIC chip on the initial scheduled date (end of February). We are now expecting to dispatch all Batch 1 orders on 1st of May 2014.

They also announced this compensation plan.

It is no secret to us that the Bitcoin mining process is proving to be more and more difficult every day. To compensate our loyal customer for the unforeseen delay of in delivering our miners for batch 1, we are happy to offer free extra hashing power which consists of 25% of your purchased hashing power from our Rent-Some-Minions cloud program for 4 months.
17177  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | NASTY POOL on: January 29, 2014, 08:24:33 AM

Great news.  I did see that they are shipping 1.7TH/s units and are offering 15% off the next order to compensate.  Not sure if that is a good deal or not, but it is something for consideration.

I moved the funds that were sitting on our exchange to NASTY MINING's BTC holding address.  We'll have to keep a reserve in that account to pay for the remainder of our scrypt miner order (£3,815) when it comes due in a few months.  I also submitted v1.1 of the NastyFans iOS app to the App Store and paid off 20 BTC of our outstanding debt over the weekend.
