Arsenal struggle against teams that defend and look to counter attack so I do not agree with 80% I think they are favorites and should win the game but I am always nervous against Crystal Palace because they are very good at defending and getting wins by scoring on the counter attack which is our weakest point in the team. I do not think it is worth betting on this game unless you are going for Crystal Palace to win because Arsenal are too risky to bet on to win without any big return

I was also nervous against Crystal Palace but watching the first half and seeing how well Arsenal have dominated the game, I am very impressed. Arsenal is not even giving Palace a lot of opportunities to counter. They close Palace down whenever they get the ball. Its 2-0 in favor of Arsenal right now and more goals will come in the second half. Arsenal should keep a clean sheet in this game, I would really like that. A win in this game will take Arsenal to eight point difference between Man City and Arsenal which is a confidence booster for Arsenal even if Man City have a game in hand.
1722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 19, 2023, 12:31:31 PM
PSG is one funny team when you mention the champions league, well they're out now and they'll concentrate on their league but it seems they're still not getting things right even in Ligue 1, I can't just get it.
Today they're going head to head against a visiting team [Rennes] who wants to make it to the conference league but is going to be a very difficult task to win against the host at this point in time, they're unleash their anger on Rennes and it might be a goal fiesta. With the likes of Messi and Co it will be another day to smile with a huge win.

PSG should be the example you give when talking about clubs that are not well run. I just don't know what goes on in their heads. A club that wants to really win in the champions league won't go around buying average players while focusing only on their attack. A team that has Neymer, Mbappe and Messi in todays football won't be able to fully strength their squad. As much as Mbappe has been beneficial to them, it would have been better they let him go to Madrid than spend that kind of money on a single player when you have a midfield that's is as awful as that. Aside how bad their midfield is, they don't have good substitutes. They do not have any player on the bench that can come in for an injured or fatigued Mbappe, Neymer, Veratti, Messi. The squad of that team is just not ready to compete and I don't believe they have the right coach for the job either.
1723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 19, 2023, 12:21:54 PM
Ac milan played like a clown club. Ac milan defenders are too lazy as fuck. As you can see that how defenders were not even focusing on the ball, especially for the third goal. They were focusing on complaints with the referee instead of protecting the goalkeeper from udinese's players.

If it's not caused by penalty and ac milan will not even make a single goal. Ibrahimovic was not able to execute the first shoot. The quality between udinese and ac milan is too far. Udinese is far better in all of the things compared with ac milan. How can milan win against napoli?
this is a big question for us. Ac milan was just having bunch of stupid defenders who did nothing. Ac milan's keeper also lacks of responsiveness to the first shoot.

The clow is losing against mediocre team. That's it. It's a shame for pioli. Napoli will be beating ac milan easily in UCL. That is it.

I don't know what Milan defenders were on yesterday but that was too awful to watch. In fact, the whole Ac Milan team were horrible, the defending was just worst. They lose the ball and don't even fight to win it back, they just escort the Udinese players. A single player could tout the whole of that Milan defense and what's worst is that while they were clowning in front of the ball they were also obstructing the view of their goal keeper, making it impossible for him to go for the ball since he sees it too late.

I am tempted to use logic and say this match doesn't define how they will play against Napoli but even if they play better against Napoli they'll still lose. Napoli are in way better form and play more as a team. Milan cant win that match.

I'll just say it was a game of luck for Everton to be able to draw them at the very last second. I don't entirely agree with you that Chelsea didn't play well today against Everton. However, if we're being completely honest, Chelsea's performance was actually quite good. After all, they were the team that dominated the field in terms of ball possession and generated a lot of excellent scoring opportunities—they weren't just fortunate that they managed to score goals. but before the game began, the only thing I could think of was that Chelsea would find it difficult to win because Everton appeared to be well on their way to climbing out of the relegation zone.

Yea, I agree, Chelsea played well, they just could not utilize their chances. They got so many goal scoring opportunities. I don't want to say they were unlucky because I feel if they had done the right thing they would have made use of their chances and buried the game earlier on. They also messed up by allowing Everton to have so many chances against them. When you play, you try to limit the opponents scoring opportunities are much as possible.
After Havertz scored the penalty I switch to the Man City game because I thought that game was a wrap, Chelsea has won, only for me to check at the end and see that Everton score a late minute equalizer. Chelsea needs to improve in a lot of things. They waste too many chances, they give away the ball too cheaply and they allow the opponents too many goal scoring opportunities.
1725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 18, 2023, 09:26:38 PM
Although Real Madrid are behind Barcelona in La Liga, they are still favorites for La Liga. Because at any moment Real Madrid can do something great. As Real Madrid are in a great position in the Champions League, doing well in La Liga is not a concern for them.

I get that there is still a chance for Real Madrid to snatch the league from Barcelona but saying Madrid is favorite to win he La liga this season is not true. Madrid are nine points behind Barcelona as it stands. If Madrid win the classico tomorrow then it would be reduced to six points. If we are being honest, with the kind of form Barcelona is in the league and how inconsistent Madrid is in the league, its almost impossible for Madrid to overtake Barcelona even if the point difference is six points. Then there's the tight schedule of real Madrid and the fact that all injured Barcelona players are returning.

On the contrary, I think Dortmund can defeat Bayern Munich and be ahead of them on the League with 3 points then maintain a good form till the end of the season by so doing if they end up not dropping point they will be winners you know? .

Bayern Munich is not too strong on the League like before when other club was afraid of them and now that they are chasing the Champions league trophy and they have been grouped with a strong opponent I think it will greatly affect their seriousness in the League and Dortmund can use the advantage to win the League from them this season.

I doubt that. Dortmund is a very unreliable team. We've seen it time and again how they always fumble their opportunity. I have been saying it since when Dortmund was on the same point with Bayern that they won't be able to maintain this race till the end. I was so certain they will slip up. They can win a team 5-0 today ad lose or draw to a smaller team the next week. Dortmund should have taken advantage of the time when Bayern was not in form to top the league and extend the lead but even they were not in form at that moment. The difference between Bayern and Dortmund right now on the league is just two point, but by the end of the season it would have been extended to eight points.

Kante is a very good and strong midfielder, he is very much capable of holding Chelsea's midfield as soon as he returns to the starting team. I agree Koulibaly has not made so much impact since joining the club, but I think he needs a little more time to settle in and find his form. Enzo Fernandez has been magnificent, his work rate seems balanced to me.

I don't think Kante would ever go back to his best again in Chelsea. He has lost his form so much and he gets injured a lot lately. When he's on the field he's phenomenal but he can't be relied on because there's a high probability of him getting injured or lacking match fitness.
Enzo is an sensational kid. He's good both on and off the ball and he's not just a traditional defensive midfielder but he can also join in the attack. He knows how to resist press and also knows how to win back the ball. He is exceptional but I think Chelsea still need a creative midfielder. They need a midfielder that is really creative and is able to support the attack at all times.

Sadly Atalanta won at the end of the game, it could be a big result for the recovery of Juventus after the penalization.

I was really impressed with Atalanta yesterday. I placed a bet on them to win and they were losing after the first half. Atalanta dominated the whole of the first half and conceded a goal in a very unlucky way due to some defensive errors.
They came back in the second half and fought really hard. Based on how well Atalanta played they should have scored more than two goals. It was an entertaining game and a very good game from Atalanta.
1729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: March 16, 2023, 08:18:49 PM
Even if Betis are playing in home, the man united in seeing tonight is not what I expected. Manchester United in the last match against Betis were more in control of the game than this. I'm beginning to sense that Ten Hag's Strategy today is to guide against conceding goals and it's really affecting the boy's game play. They find it difficult to dwell with ball and play at their free will, Al I see is fear and overly emotions.
Real betis seemed to be more confident than MU in the first 20 minutes which is not supposed to be so.

Ten Hag's strategy actually worked. They did not concede and they scored a goal. That's the problem with being a tactical coach, if you use a strategy and it works then everybody will praise you as a genius but if the strategy fails then you're a clueless coach that doesn't know what you're doing.
I expected a game like this from United. They won the first leg 4-1, with good defending they can't concede 3 goals. Besides the game is going to be relatively more difficult than the first leg because now Betis are at home where they are more comfortable so you don't expect them to make it easy for United.
It was a good game from Manchester United in both legs, they're in the last 8 now which is very impressive.
1730  Economy / Economics / Re: If they have the solution, why are banks still failing? on: March 15, 2023, 10:12:06 PM
SVB wasn't even mismanaged. I doubt when this gets reviewed there would be any legal finding of misconduct unlike with FTX.

SVB had banked on U.S. treasury bonds for a sizeable chunk of their portfolio and were ripped when the federal reserve starting raising interest rates. They started trying to raise capital desperately and it caused a panic and everyone ran to withdraw their balances simultaneously. The fact is that this type of situation can happen to literally any bank if every customer decides to withdraw their cash. If the banking institution isn't to secure emergency funding, within a day the entire institution collapses.

They got greedy and yea, they were unlucky too. They shouldn't have invested such large amount of customers funds in a long term investment without thinking about the repercussions if things went south, and I believe they thought about it but they went ahead with it anyway. When the federal reserve started raising interest rates they panicked and got desperate as you said so that led to the panicking of the public. SVB would have been okay eventually if people did not panic but you can't blame the public for panicking because what normal human wouldn't panic when the bank is panicking?
1731  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto or Forex? on: March 15, 2023, 09:47:17 PM
But if you are just starting it's better not to ride the flow yet but proceed to read and learn how to trade properly even if you have losses your winnings matter over losses.

This is a major problem people who are new to trading make. Both forex and crypto beginners make the same mistake. They feel its just a buy and sell model without understanding the technicalities. Whichever anyone chooses between Crypto or forex or even stock trading he must first read, study and understand the dynamics. Learning never ends, even people who are pros in the business still learn and grown their skillset, talk more of a beginner. There's a saying I saw here, "learn before you earn"
1732  Economy / Economics / Re: Finally they understand the value of Decentralization ! on: March 15, 2023, 09:22:36 PM
Funny enough a lot of people won't still learn from this. I don't know what needs to happen before they realize that their money is not safe on centralized exchanges. No matter how big a centralized exchange is its always not advisable to keep your money there. As much as the SVB drama is an unfortunate event, lets hope it helps people in crypto to understand that they can't completely trust centralized exchanges.

1733  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 15, 2023, 11:24:02 AM
I hope your cousin understand and and be mature about your situation now. because it doesn't mean you hate him didn't lend the money, maybe you just want your cousin understand if the family relationship is very important than money. So that case you won't lend him.

If the family relationship is more important than money then why not just give him the loan and whether he returns it on not they still have a good family relationship?
Its not advisable to give someone you don't trust a loan, family or not but when when a family or friend is in need you make a conscious effort to help out. Helping out can be in different ways, it doesn't necessarily mean giving them the loan they asked for. It could be helping them look for a job, giving them free money for their upkeep (it doesn't have to be too much), getting them groceries if you can afford it. At least just show them that you care by just being there for them in their hard times. We always talk about being better people but when the time comes we do the opposite. Yea, I know you've got to look out for yourself, but there's a thin line between looking out for yourself and being completely inconsiderate.
1734  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: March 15, 2023, 10:44:42 AM
I think depends on your age. Better is a combination of both always. There is obviously a meter of your life, in early ages with lesser responsibilities you have the bandwith to take more risks without any worries but eventually there will be a time when you won't have that much risk aversion. So take risks at the right time in your career so that even if things go wrong you have a lot of buffer time to regrow yourself.

Aside the age and the ability to take risk, I think the capital you have is also a factor. Real estate demands a lot of capital. So I can equally say more capital means more risk but that does not always translate to more profit. It is advisable to invest in different things instead of just sticking to one. So you don't have to choose between bitcoin and Real estate, you can invest in stock too amongst others but try to have knowledge in whatever you're investing in. I think older people are willing to take all that risk on real estate is because they can see it and they understand it. If crypto was something they could see they would have taken the risk in it too.
1735  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is ageing and old people part of bitcoin? on: March 14, 2023, 10:06:12 PM
I don't think people 80 to 90 years old have the capacity for these kind of things. They're too old for that. A lot of parents that are between 50-70 are into crypto. Parents that are conservative are the ones that have problem with crypto. They are not open minded because they've refused to understand how crypto works, its easier for them to just dismiss it as a scam. They understand foreign exchange and stock exchange and the prefer what they understand.
Exposed and open minded parents know that there are many opportunities on the internet so even if they're not really comfortable with it, they don't stop their children from using it. It is mostly the conservative parents that have a problem with their children using the internet.
1736  Economy / Economics / Re: With the present economic outlook, do you think that this is good advise? on: March 14, 2023, 09:20:52 PM
An advice that tells you to learn a skill is never a bad one. Having a proper skill and being very good at it is a very big plus as a graduate. The skill won't also stop you from going into the business you want to go into. I'm not a fan of small margin profit business but I don't say it out loud often so as not to discourage people. I totally agree that instead of spending time and other resources in that kind of business, its better you learn a skill. If you are in a position where you can do both at the same time then I'll advise you to do both.
Lastly, while learning a skill, chose a skill you like, a skill you enjoy and actually want to venture in. Don't learn a skill because people are making a lot of money from it so you dive right into it. If you must learn a skill like that then you must develop love for that particular skill or else it will be vey difficult.
1737  Economy / Speculation / Re: The SVB failure will help BTC alot. on: March 14, 2023, 12:15:18 PM
Becuase people will realise you can't do a run on BTC as it is provably 100% backed. As more banks fail, if they do, the people in the queues and thier freinds and the media are going to realise you can always transfer your BTC.

Fiat does not look so "stable" vs btc when fiat can effectively go to zero overnight, becuase your bank failed.

SVB is a big well recognize and traditional bank, if that kind of system can fail, how do you think people who do not really have a lot of idea about  crypto will think about BTC? This SVB drama would only make people in crypto realize that keeping their coins in centralized exchanges is the same things as keeping your money in an SVB account where somebody can mismanage it and make very wrong decisions which would make you lose your money. I don't think this saga favour the crypto industry, I think it only encourages people not to trust centralized exchanges.

1738  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 14, 2023, 12:00:20 PM
[
Education on its own won't make you rich per say rather it would give you exposure . It will make you ambitious. They don't teach you how to make money in schools, they don't even teach you have to handle money, how money wirks. Education, especially higher education only broadens your mind to think really big. Part of this is because you've gone to school and you've seen business people doing well and you want to be like them (this is if you are someone who dreams to be an entrepreneur) so you start believing that being big as they are is possible. Higher education helps but it doesn't teach you exactly what to do as an entrepreneur, what it does is equip you to think for yourself and be able to make decisions that will help your business grow.
Then comes experience, the more you keep at the business, the more you learn from your mistakes and successes and keep getting better at what you do.
1739  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash is not trash on: March 14, 2023, 11:38:43 AM
We've talked about it here time and again. Fiat and Crypto have to co-exist. The initial plan of Satoshi when he invented Bitcoin was not to override fiat. The world have not gotten to the level of going totally digital in every part of the earth so that makes it quite impossible for fiat to be trash. And for those that believe crypto will be the world currency anytime soon, I think they're delusional. Try to see Bitcoin as another form of currency, only it's not controled or owned by any government or state. When you see Bitcoin as a currency then it'll be easier for you to see it co-exist with other currencies like the dollar, pounds, yen, franc etc all co-exist.
1740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 13, 2023, 08:53:49 PM
Arsenal are the favorites to win the league because they are the most consistent and I think they have the easiest games left of the season but they play Manchester City and I think that is the game that decides the season. If Manchester City win the game I think they could cause pressure on Arsenal and they slip up and lose a couple of games but if Arsenal win then they extend their lead and with 11 games left I think it would be impossible for Manchester City to catch them because it would require them losing a lot of the games left.

The good news for Arsenal is that by the time Arsenal play City they will have just five matches left to play. If Arsenal can try to maintain their current form and win all their league games then they'll definitely win the league. Manchester City doesn't look like a team that would not drop points again but that should not be Arsenal's problem if they win all their remaining games. Arsenal should not get ahead of themselves, they should just take it one game at a time and play every game with all they've got. Good thing G. Jesus is back in the team, hopefully he picks up the kind of form he was in before his injury. Nobody expected Arsenal to still be topping the table by this point of this season and here they are, not just topping the league but topping with a five point difference.
