1721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If There Is A Ban on: February 21, 2023, 11:05:47 PM
We all agree we're living in a crazy world and what's far worse is that it is managed by a bunch of clowns..
So, let's think wildly, one day US were to further increase the censorship just like some of the other countries in the world, they ban bitcoin, they ban VPN, they pass legislation for those who mine/trade/spend btc will be sent to jail.
(Let's not say it's not going to happen. It can! You never know just like you would never have known that there's a war in 2022.)

Other countries start to follow.

Where will you be and what kind of life will it be and how is it going to impact yours?

Wait, before I answer some of your questions, why on earth would anyone hate bitcoin that much to implement these restrictions? This is just like killing the internet and expected the citizens to act like you want, more like detectorship and anarchy.

Now coming back to your question, the last I check, the world doesn't revolve round the US alone, they have the resources and investors especially the institutional ones that will help bitcoin grow and get recognitions but it doesn't mean if US doesn't allow it strive in their region, it will stop growing in another place. Look at Hong Kong for example, the Chinese government has ban bitcoin more than I can count but as of today, they seems to be making adjustable shoulder for its citizens and bitcoin, you know why they allowed that, there is no assets like bitcoin and there will never be.
1722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 21, 2023, 10:51:35 PM
Some problems came at the start of the season for them which necessitated a lot of changes happening for them.
Now there is no use for them to reminisce about the start of the season because they have to get up now. This condition is not too good for those who in fact spend a lot of money to bring in new coaches and players. The rest of the game is still there but this doesn't put Potter in a position to sit comfortably in these conditions.

Now is definitely not the time to reminisce about the good ole days when the season was just beginning and Chelsea was on fire and winning games. I’ve met a lot of Chelsea fans who always talk about the beginning of the season when the club performed well. I feel they’re trying to console and inspire themselves that they can bounce back from their losses. A comeback is always possible but I don’t see Chelsea making any comeback this season. They should just focus on how they would perform better come next season.

Manchester United had the same experience when Erik Teng came on board newly, things weren't rosy for the red Devils and couldn't make it to the top 4. However, they did made it to the Europa League where they are beating and battling with Barcelona who made it from their end but lost in the group stage. The difference between Chelsea Situation and that of Manchester United is similar but different in the sense that Chelsea is actually having a bad season and the more they played, they don't make improvements, they are sinking ship is no longer funny to discuss, they could come back next season but they can't continue in this manner sitting at the half way in the table.
1723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Do Gamblers Do This? on: February 21, 2023, 10:18:14 PM
In this forum and other forums where gambling is one of the topics of discussion, one of the recurrent topics is people who write about how their gambling addiction has ruined their lives. We usually encounter topics like "Gambling ruined my life,"  "I lost all my life savings to gambling,"  "I gambled away my entire salary," etc. Then they go on to tell a sad tale. It makes me wonder: why do gamblers tend to wait until they have suffered a catastrophic loss or a string of losses before quitting or seeking help?

The ''denial stage'' is one of the most difficult stages gamblers find difficult to accept, there is a point when you are supposed to give up while it is still fresh but some people don't know their break-even point, they will continue to play, and play in hope and anticipation to get back all they have lost and within that space, if care is not taken, they would lose an entire fortune or life saving and it is when they have lost all they start a thread of that headlines, is just that seeking financial help is frowned upon by the forum, they would even go lengthy to seek for financial help.

While the wound is still fresh with a little cut, get out and have some outdoor activities, not when it has become unbearable before speaking up to friends, that's what I do, I go the extra mile to even delete the gamblings mobile app from my phone.

How to make the game interesting?

Just play without goalkeepers, crazy 2-3 for Real Madrid, while Napoli is doing his job vs a weaker opponent.
Real Madrid is doing a finishing job on Liverpool tonight and the second half of the match have be filled with multiple goals score from Real Madrid after the first half was roughly contented for by both clubs, but at the moment Real Madrid already have a solid game plan with 2:4 goals in the 50+ to 60 minutes it's quite clear that Championship is favourable to Real Madrid at the moment and this is indeed a good attempt by Real Madrid to reclaim the champion status this season.

Anybody who has been following the Liverpool and Real Madrid match would know that they deserve to lose this match. My yesterday's post angered several people when I predicted that Liverpool will lose to Real Madrid, and I simply had to giggle since from their answers it was all emotional to me. The second leg will be a fire that Liverpool may not be able to hold because of today's result. In fact, Liverpool should have maintained that 2-0 lead they had as an opportunity to play the rest of the game as a defensive match, but they were totally ignorant that Madrid was this ready to squash them at every slide.
1725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 20, 2023, 10:42:05 PM
United has had a very nice season overall. We can no longer compare this team with the team that became champions for years in a row and was the absolute number 1 in England. But we can compare the current performance with the performance of last season, and if you look at that, there is a lot of improvement. I think they can do even better. Of course they don't have someone like De Bruyne and Haaland, they often make the difference at City. United has invested a lot of money in signings, such as Antony and Casemiro. Antony may still make a somewhat disappointing impression. After all, you can expect a bit more from someone worth 100 million and he doesn't always play either.
ManU cannot be compared to the last seasons nor to the beginning of the actual one. If we take a look on the team few months ago, they were performing very poorly at some points, they were the joke of EPL. Things changed luckily for them which wasn't the case for Chelsea nor Liverpool.
At the same time, gunners took the lead while City dropped a little although they have better players. There is still time to see how things will evolve Wink

It's a good thing Manchester United started showing their mistakes, it was fresh and early to encounter and they gladly did, look at how that has favor them right now. Erik restrategies his boys and they are doing well, but had it been it was in the middle class the season, it will be so difficult to amend, this is exactly what Chelsea is facing right now. If I can recall, they weren't that bad in the beginning of the season, they were winning some matches and losing few but it got worse when Tuchel was sack by the new management and Graham Potter took over the sinking ship and now they are sinking everyday despite the new rope(players) they bought to hold tides and waves, it's not just working, this is why I respect Manchester United come back force till now.
1726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 20, 2023, 04:34:56 PM
liverpool vs madrid will be an exciting match because currently, Liverpool's performance is not in the best condition in the EPL, but I agree with what you said that Liverpool is a team that is difficult to predict. the team that will win is a team that has a strong winning mentality and madrid looks like it will come out victorious in this 1st leg.

I can bet my last cent on that match that Liverpool will loose in the first leg and get knock down on the second leg and not because Madrid are experienced team, it's just that Liverpool doesn't have the balls to get pass this level. They have come far but I don't think there is a team that would advance from this leg with broken formation, their best Van Dijk is back and played average yesterday, nothing spectacular about Liverpool current form.

Quote
So far in the Champions League, only Liverpool has been able to beat Napoli, so Napoli's performance can still be said to be very stable and good, facing Frankfurt shouldn't be a big problem for Napoli, because Frankfurt is not the favorite team to win and their performances in their local league also not so good.

It's possible for a team to underfperform in the domestic league and still do well in another league as long as they don't have consistent loses but I can tell you for free that Napoli is good in every way, they could call their league a farmer league but they are far from an average team in this knockout stage.
1727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 20, 2023, 10:18:38 AM
Barcelona players has displayed what made people to believed that they are in a good position to win this la Liga league title, because they were able to achieved two goals in the first half to weak the strength of Cadiz players, which they did by not allowed them to score goal through out the match. Robert Lewandowski and Sergi Roberto used their opportunities well to help the team to embrace the goals that brought them victory and to help them to be ahead of Real Madrid in the la Liga league table. I think, Barcelona will definitely break record in this season by achieving the title, because they keep displaying wonders in this la Liga league competition.
Your viewpoint matches mine! Barcelona's recent La Liga performances have been outstanding, particularly that win over Cadiz? That was the icing! The guys have worked like peanut butter and jelly, scoring goals left, right, and center. I believe their consistency and grit will help them break records and reach their goals this season. They're in first place with an eight-point lead over Real Madrid, but don't get too confident. They must keep working hard. Will they maintain momentum and win? It's anyone's guess, but this is one squad you don't want to miss!!!

I don't think I'm the only person that least expected Barcelona in their current form to lose to a team like Cardiz, they have been cursed from the beginning of the season to remain close to the relegation zone, which should be like a bonus point for Barcelona. However, I haven't given up on Real Madrid's journey to that first place Barcelona is currently occupying, they are just 8 points ahead of Real Madrid, and it is not even possible for Barcelona to win all the matches, they could lose or draw at some point and if Real Madrid tightens up their belt, it should be easy to fix their mistakes, we still have a long way to go before the season comes to end.
1728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 20, 2023, 09:43:50 AM
Marcus Rashford has greatly improved in appearance since the World Cup but Haaland leads as top scorer with a very large number so far Haaland has scored 26 goals while Rashford has 14, if want to be top scorer Rashford must always score goals in the rest of the matches but not sure he can catch Haaland or even Harry Kane, this season it will be Haaland's and next season Rashford has a chance if he keeps doing well and is a sharp striker.

Rashford has benefited from Ronaldo coming into the club, motivated the player, showing them that they can score high number of goals in the club as he did in his first year of return before departing. Ronaldo departure then made Rashford the focus as everybody now plays for him. Rashford was always a good player still didn't understand why he declined that much but he's back now.

The same Rashford I just saw some media pushing about his transfer to potential PSG and Real Madrid bidders! To be honest, I think he had a good year and goals but last season was terrible due to Ronaldo's presence which isn't even bad at all as they didn't use him like that since Manchester United is left with no choice, he is putting in his best to represents the team and I think that was the best decision made by Erik despite confrontations that he was not using Ronaldo in matches.

Quote
I don't think the target is to excess Haaland as that's an impossible tasks. Haaland has the whole team working for him with assist and they're all top players in the prime years while Manchester united just has an average team. Manchester city was already doing well before the arrival of Haaland so it's just like he just landed on a gold mine while Rashford has to work together with the team so it'll be hard to be scoring the number of goals Haaland is scoring.

attempting to kick out Haaland is nearly impossible but if he is able to do that, that will not only make him a golden boy, it will move Manchester to first place in the table and they can easily take home the season trophy or either way, they are lucky to face the team that are in between 6th and 18th place, if it favours them, Rashford can achive more goals provided that Manchester doesnt pick up in their perfomance.
1729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: February 20, 2023, 08:57:26 AM
Indeed barcelona is currently in a state of pressure because they are playing the second leg at home to manchester united and this has made profits for Erik ten hag and his players. But still the Blaugrana are not an easy opponent for the red devils, I think it is likely that the second leg match will continue into extra time, if one team cannot close the match 90 minutes with a win.

Looking at the bookies odds, you can see that this match is difficult to predict because the odds are all equal with no options to choose from, but I have a good feeling that Barcelona will win this match; statistically, Manchester United does not have a good record of clean sheets against Barcelona, but they drew in their last game, which gives them confidence and hope. Both teams have been in good form recently, but even with the way they performed last time, Barcelona had the game in their hands the entire time. Expect at least 1.5 goals from this match, but Barcelona will win.
1730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 19, 2023, 08:47:45 PM

At the moment, bookmaker quotes for the championship in La Liga are as follows:

Barcelona FC - 1.10

Real Madrid - 6.50

If Barcelona beat Cadiz today (does anyone doubt it?) their odds drop below 1.10, it would take a miracle for Real to overtake them. With Barcelona close to losing United and offloading their game calendar, all they have to do is beat outsiders till the end of the season and secure the title.

Any time I see this kind of odds like that of Barcelona, I get pissed easily because what's the purpose of 1.10 odds, do they expect someone to stake $10k to win $11k, that's just $1k potential win which is a bad investment if one is to make that kind of move, forget the impossibility of Real Madrid taking over that first place, it is way too risky bet to be honest, 1.5 and 8 odds is fair to begin with.

I just wish Real Madrid(I want it happen badly) can just overtake Barcelona, it will humble lots of people and will make bookies rain money on the street because even with the current form of Real Madrid, there are bettors who will stake that odd for Madrid as the Trophy winner.
1731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 19, 2023, 05:25:51 PM
Actually, I've been thrilled with Rashford's form since his return from the World Cup; he's been a major contributor to any Manchester United games. I can't imagine Rashford going with his scoring style in every game. Manchester United is really good, and their coach is really trying, and based on what I've seen so far, I believe the team will win at least one trophy this season. They're playing better ball, and they deserve to win the matches they're winning.

Match against Manchester united and Leicester city was impressive. Manchester played well especially that second half was crazy with some accurate passes and great goals chances and I believe that is what make them scored more goals.

Ever since he had a goal peaked in 2019, he has been a good player and a finisher but last season was poor but the season is half way gone and already having 24 goals for Manchester united and 7 good assist in 36 appearance and yet not a single red card was given, I don't think even Erik would want to see him get any injury at this crucial moment he has transition Manchester united in the standing.

They are currently 6 points below Arsenal and 3 points below Manchester united and I don't think Newcastle will be getting them anytime soon, may be never again but I have this inner chi and affirmation they will either end up as second at the top of the league or mysteriously finish first if indeed they continue in this form.

If my account is the basis, then I should be already a hero member or a legendary member, right? I just recently came back after several years since I was also busy with my study, and yes, it's true that I have earned a decent amount before and most of those earnings went into a considerable good investment such as my computer which I was using for 5 years now and other needs. Now for the present time I could say I somehow regret it but as I've said it is a considerable good investment for me since I made use of the things I needed back then and should be grateful for that. Additionally, now what I'm really aiming is building for myself and investing while utilizing the resources that I have, because I know crypto or bitcoin is one the things that will greatly contribute me in the future. So, I do hope that I could read some of your suggestions, opinions and gain more knowledge which I literally skipped over the past few years.

Maybe not on your first question, your account was created way before the Merit system was introduced, if you were a Full or Senior Member on or before the 24th of January 2018, 500 merits should have been added to your account by default for every member who was already here and your merit is reading 253, I don't think you will be in Hero or Legendary at this point even your activity defined that on your profile.

As far as you used that bitcoin to get to where you are today, there shouldn't be any sort of regrets, it is a sad action done with a good purpose, this is not the time to feel awful, make use of that knowledge and buy back some bitcoin, you will enjoy the boldness of starting over in the future.
1733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 17, 2023, 01:26:26 PM
If you look at the condition of the two teams this season, yes, there really isn't any potential for Liverpool to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League this season in the round of 16. But Liverpool also still have the opportunity to make a better strategy in the Champions League in a few days or before the game starts. Although predictably this is a pretty tough opponent for Liverpool with their bad conditions this season, while Real Madrid still doesn't deserve to be said bad because Real Madrid can still rise in the domestic league and also in the Champions League.

I have learned something in football I draft from Real Madrid last Champions League season, a match isn't over until it is over, we quickly make assumptions that when a team is underperforming in a match event, people become emotional that they will lose but Real Madrid last year performance was the biggest in Champions League that surprise everyone, how they moved from knockout stage to lose to PSG and won in the second leg and that was how they all did till the final day and Liverpool eventually lost to them, they can still perform the similar thing in their domestic Laliga league that everyone thinks they are hopeless to reach and no doubts, Real Madrid is coming out of this knockout stage successfully.
1734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 17, 2023, 01:02:49 PM
manchester city is able to catch up well, as well as manchester united, but i'm not quite sure manchester united can win the english league this season, i bet arsenal and manchester city will win the league this season, personally of course expect manchester city to win won the Premier League this season

There are some predictions that don't need to ring in someone's head, I know that Manchester City and Arsenal frequently have hiccups in movement and have swap spots in the table but they are the current two teams I have confidence in taking home the Premier League trophy, Manchester United on the hand has picked up recently, however, the more I look into them, they are been split between EPL and Europa League, they want there and here as well but they are closed there and they may sacrifice here and end up in second to qualify for Champions League in the worst scenario I think.
1735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have always wanted to ask this about bitcoin on: February 16, 2023, 03:52:20 PM
Will people still use or buy bitcoin till today if all it has to offer is the decentralized characteristic only, I am trying to say that if bitcoin is stable in value from day one and has no investment ability will you still buy it?

What is the point of it being bitcoin if it's stable in price without characteristics of investment? I think we have other stablecoins that possess decentralized characteristics like the Maker Dao stable coin(DAI), the decentralization is limited to the Ethereum foundation though. There is no point for bitcoin to exist if doesn't have those characteristics, Perhaps you should check the Bitcoin whitepaper for some reference or even learn more about bitcoin, it will help you clear some of these kinds of questions.

Quote
if all it has to offer is moving money around and no volatility, will Bitcoin be your favorite still? Drop your thoughts and let's see.

I am thinking that the Volatile is what makes bitcoin a must have for almost everybody, think I am wrong?

And people won't see a reason to buy Bitcoin if there were no Volatility from day one.

Volatility exists in every market but bitcoin is unique in its own way, you shouldn't forget the way it goes up, the same way it does when it is coming down. I was exposed to Bitcoin before I even learned about stocks and others but I'm already used to bitcoin volatility(cryptos) and nothing legit can change that anytime soon, not even stocks. Any other volatility that beats that of bitcoin should be considered a scam.
1736  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you ready to spend crypto when market is down on: February 16, 2023, 03:24:51 PM
Aside from that, I think most of the people are just into holding their coins until such time the coins will attain the imaginary line that they thought before cashing it and that means that even if offline/online stores will accept cryptocurrencies as a form of payment, people will still pay via fiat and not crypto because it will just be wasted especially when the market is down. Most of investors aim to buy low and sell high, and not buy high and sell low.

People tend to spend their coins in stores when they shouldn't; the store will profit more in the future, even during a bull market, retailers become less frequented by consumers holding crypto, which is when they should be spending.
It is unwise to spend much during crypto winter, not that it is a bad thing to do, but it should be a time when you should buy more, it is an opportunity to buy and hold them and unload them when the price appreciated, and that should even be the price at which you should spend more them (I mean altcoins and other shitcoins) for the courage you have endured when people are selling their bags.
1737  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 16, 2023, 03:06:36 PM
Being a student is so hard nowadays. I've been spending a lot for school requirements and different activities related to education. I'm stuck with this saying "SAVING IS WASTING", thinking that with the little amount of money I have, should I put it on an investment or should I just save it for my future expenses or emergencies. I'm also living in a country in which there are limited side hustles I could do to earn extra for investment, so I'm troubled somehow.

No troll intended my friend but I thought you should have some bitcoin considering your account has been registered since 2017!  Huh Saving is just like doing a grant fund for banking organizations, the money they run as a business is owned by people like me, and you, they make collective donations from rich and poor and set that up with interest rate that will give you nothing at the end of the year, the banks only favor those who have big shares, the poor only suffer at their hands by saving in their custody with poor services they may debit you at the end of the day. My little already known advice, buy and hold bitcoin when the price sinks at any given opportunity.
1738  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC Silver and Gold on: February 16, 2023, 02:45:46 PM
I am curious. How many of you also stack gold and silver in addition to BTC as a hedge for inflation?

For what exactly, if you had held Gold from last year 16 of February to 16 of February of this year, you will have gained just nothing, if you bought in the last 5 years, you will have earned $500 dollar, now, if you compare inflation rate in the last 5 years with the increased price, you would have only gained a sandwich meal for a day, what is now the essence of holding them, I don't want to go to how silver has performed in the last 5 years but let us look at Bitcoin; if you have bought bitcoin on February 16, 2019, which is 5 years ago, despite the market collapse, that's roughly sweet 7x from your investment at the current price of bitcoin.
1739  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin inflation wilder than fiat? on: February 16, 2023, 02:25:23 PM
We know Inflation has become a frightening specter in 2023 because of covid and Ukraine and Rusia war. This is related to crypto, I am not sure if crypto price today has grown up in the line without following the fiat. Yes, fiat aka conventional money is the factor we pursue to bitcoin.

Do you know that inflation existed even before Covid, Ukraine, and Russia wars began, this tells you that inflation is an element of Fiat/cash which is here to stay, as long as the principles of cash remain the same, we will continue to see inflation. Bitcoin, on the other hand, has beaten inflation from different angles while halving has been acting as a deflationary tool with supply, the two are not comparable in this argument may be speculations of the economy led us into believing that the fiat drives bitcoin price.

Quote
Many countries have thought to change currency into bitcoin because the government thinks bitcoin is more related stable than USD. because the reality, USD is not have something great if their foreign policy isn't great in the past. The powerful country is just running their greedy for self-benefit. Now, they begin to turn to bitcoin and look like started to control the bitcoin inflation, so what you think if bitcoin inflation is wilder than fiat?

The problem with this country is that they came late, not late in the sense that it wouldn't strive in the future but they bought at a high time price, and since the effects of bad guys(SBF and CO) infiltrated the crypto space, it hasn't been funny with losses, if they continue to believe like in the early days, they would definitely have a story to tell to other countries who have yet adopted bitcoin as a store of value.
1740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 15, 2023, 09:47:49 PM
It doesn't matter if he predicts Real Madrid can win 5-0, because there is also a betting option about the "correct score" and of course betting with that option will give very high odds. But most of them usually only bet with home, draw and away options, and if applied to Real Madrid in this match against Elche then the odds are very low odds.
Anyway, there is no doubt about Real Madrid at this moment, so it's only natural that many of us will choose and or bet on Real Madrid's victory in matches with various betting options.

Bookies are there for business and there odds follow iterations and simulations, those figures doesn’t just appear on their own, historical past events and the current state of the league determine those odds, like example: we know that Elche is a weak team, they had only won a single match in the whole of this season, they had face some worst team this season yet they concede goals and loss and now they face Real Madrid that has won 14 matches this season; automatically it will tell you that Real Madrid will win todays match and will display small odds.

I wouldn’t think twice to make Madrid as straight win, even in their worst form, they will beat Elche and I would stake high, this matches always comes good except in rare occasions when players get read cards which are unpredictable sometimes.
