Bangladesh's top-order players did not perform well in the first match. Liton Das was in very good form. But he could not collect any runs. Captain Tamim Iqbal also failed to play a big innings. Bangladesh team is not used to playing on a pace-friendly pitch. This is why they face a lot of problems in batting. If the batsmen of the top order played with some responsibility, it was not a difficult task for Bangladesh to collect a big score.
However, Shanto and Mushfiqur batted well at the moment the team needed it. If these two batsmen did not play well, Bangladesh would not have been able to collect even 200 runs.
I definitely have high expectations from Bangladesh in the second ODI tomorrow. They should learn from the mistakes of the first match and correct their mistakes.
There is >80% chance of rain tomorrow at Chelmsford. Anyway, Ireland has already failed to qualify directly for the ODI World Cup, after the first match was washed out. Now even if they win both the remaining matches, they can only finish at no.9 in the points table for the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. They need to prepare well for the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. 2 out of the 10 participants will earn a ticket to India, to take part in the ODI world cup. And for Ireland, it is not an impossible task to finish among top-2.

Bangladesh did not perform well in the first ODI. But there was certainly a chance for Bangladesh to win the match if it was played. Let's see what happens in the next match.  Bangladesh will try harder in the next match. But I was really not impressed with the batting performance of Bangladesh. They will be going into the world cup very soon. The performance has to improve very quickly if they want to have a chance at the world cup. I understand that it is very unrealistic to actually think that Bangladesh might actually reach the final of the world cup. But I think there is a chance.
1722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: May 11, 2023, 09:14:27 AM
I will like to say that investment doesn't guarantee one to get rich as you rightly claim but it is a sure way of getting richer. In addition to the point you raised is just to know the right timing to sell, hold and buy. If the law of investment is followed success is guaranteed.
It's because investing has always its risk but it's a way for someone to get out of poverty and become rich. Look at the billionaires that we know made by their investments. It's no guarantee that someone will be rich on it but let's just look at the footsteps of those rich folks now, thanks to their mind and investments. There are certain processes that one has to make and it's also a matter of choice on what you will be investing with. Wrong investments won't make you far but the right ones and that should be where starters should look for.

There are many ways to succeed and become rich in life, but investing is arguably our best path. Investing is good but by no means perfect or risk-free, and there is no such thing as success in this world without trade-offs.
If you do not choose to invest in getting rich but choose another path, such as starting a business or working at the top organizations in the world, you also need to sacrifice your youth, time, and effort to achieve. Investing, too, requires trade-offs and sometimes no trade-offs to succeed. In any field to be successful we need to have the right plan and strategy. In short, investing is just a means like other fields, success or wealth is up to us to decide.
1723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin will become stable currency? on: May 11, 2023, 09:01:38 AM
First of all, Bitcoin is not a currency to be precise. Moreover people use Bitcoins as an asset and use it to make profits. You can take Bitcoins as gold, like in earlier days people used to trade things, like they give their golds, to get rations etc, similar thing happening with Bitcoins also. But this doesn’t make Bitcoins as currency. Moreover there are fixed amount of Bitcoins already broadcasted in the network, so this mean if people’s demand increases to acquire more Bitcoins, then the price will keep on increasing. So Bitcoins never settle at any fixed price.

Basically, bitcoin was created to be a currency, a peer-to-peer payment method. Not an investment as it is today, what is happening is because we ourselves have turned it into a speculation to make a profit. But to be fair, many people won't like bitcoin as a currency, they prefer it as an investment because we all want money. But there's also nothing wrong with someone using bitcoin as a currency because that's what it was originally created for. Bitcoin is a currency, an asset, and a place to store assets...depending on the needs and purposes of each person, no one is wrong.

It's unusual to see high rank member being a victim of a meme hype but I won’t blame you because I was tempted to purchase too at some point when Binance announce its listing since I feel the Dogecoin and Shiba vibes when they are first hype in the crypto market. Knowing how this meme coin works, Binance is the final goal of this token to have a massive gain upon listing. This coin only way to gain another leg above is when there is a big news such as Elon like invest om this token.

I believe you still have a chance to do breakeven since there might be a price recovery for those waiting on the price dump to enter on the hype of this token. Pepe is still new so I believe that there is still an interest for this shit tokens from newbie traders.

This token is a real sucker. Make sure to get out or cutloss if you have a chance.

I don't see anything unusual here. Everyone has a different investment perspective, and don't forget that our ultimate goal here is profit, so it's normal for people not to want to miss any opportunity. The higher the risk, the higher the return, if you want to look for a thousand percent return like PEPE did, you can't do it with bitcoin, but if you dare to take the risk, altcoins and shitcoins can help. We can invest anywhere as long as we know what we're doing.
Unfortunately for him, he bought PEPE at a high price, but conversely, I also saw someone in my locality turn $500 into $44k with this PEPE token.

Is buying at peak is usual here? Also what I’m pertaining as unusual scenario here is he is a Legendary and he knows well how shit meme coins work. You can’t see a mistake like this happening everyday on a Legendary rank because they have a lot of knowledge in terms of investment on shitcoins.

I’m not commenting on the way he investe because that is his decision. It's just unusual for me and I’m not trying to convince to think the same towards his post.

How will you know which is the highest and which is the lowest when investing? Just because you're a seasoned investor doesn't mean you'll never make mistakes. Even rich and smart people like Bill Gates or Warren Buffett have a lot of wrong investments, it is normal for people like us to fail in investing.

I know many people who don't like investing in memes, including you. But just because you don't invest, you don't make a profit from it, and that doesn't mean others do too. You may not believe me, but many people have made a lot of profit with PEPE in the past few days, and that is why it is such a phenomenon in the market. Even though we all know it can't last long but many have made a profit which is what we are looking for as well.

200 would have been more than enough, against teams such as KXIP or SRH. But then Mumbai is at entirely another level. And RCB bowlers are also not in good form, especially Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga (purchased for $1.31 million per year each). The pitch was very flat and even in-form bowlers like Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood went for plenty of runs. Anyway, this is similar story for the RCB season after season. Making Faf du Plessis the captain instead of Virat Kohli has also not worked so far. And one thing that made me confused was the substitution of Mahipal Lomror with Kedar Jadhav in the first innings. Ideally, RCB should have got one extra bowler instead of Kedar.

200 would have been certainly enough against almost any other team. I would also say that 200 would also have been enough for any other team as well. First of all, it was RCB who was defending the score. Secondly, it was Mumbai Indians who were chasing.

The tactics which RCB are currently trying seem to be not working so far.  I wonder what they are actually going to try out next. I am genuinely interested to see how they will actually improve their strength in bowling. Who can they bring in to do that successfully?
1726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 10, 2023, 05:38:04 PM
The big winners here are BCCI, ACB and CI. I calculated the % change in fund inflows per year, and this is what they are going to get in 2024-27:

BCCI: +356%
ECB:   +138%
CA:   +135%
PCB:   +116%
CSA:   +64%
NZC:   +77%
WICB: +72%
SLC:   +70%
BCB:   +67%
CI: +261%
ACB: +236%
ZC: +47%

Associates: +236%

Some of the boards, such as CNZ and CSA are not going to be happy, I guess. But these two boards have sided with BCCI every now and then and have played their part in reducing the share for associate nations. So they deserve what they get. I am still curious about how the associate share ($67.16 million per year) will get distributed among the smaller nations. The ICC has not incentivized teams with native players, and in fact they seems to be rewarding the teams who have 100% foreigner squads.

The most interesting one is going to be the associate's one in my opinion. It will actually be very interesting to see how they allocate the money after so much controversy. If this time ICC does not give more money to the teams which are actually made out of native players it will be really annoying. It is time for ICC to actually incentive the teams which has more native players. It is actually very stupid for the ICC to give more money to those teams which are already very rich and can effort to have foreign players in the team.

I bought it near the top, I bought MONG which is being shilled by crypto influencer, Crypto Bitlord. Both are down massively, I feel a bit stupid but I’m going to hold them down to $0 if I have to. They weren’t big investments so I will hold them & hope for a resurrection. With some luck they will both pump to new highs in the next year or so.

It's unusual to see high rank member being a victim of a meme hype but I won’t blame you because I was tempted to purchase too at some point when Binance announce its listing since I feel the Dogecoin and Shiba vibes when they are first hype in the crypto market. 1728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin from 2009 on: May 10, 2023, 08:58:06 AM
Hello all, I am trying to track a bitcoin purchase I made in 2009, I no longer have the pc I used, I wrote the details on some paper and stored it but we've moved house a few times and it might have gone missing,  I have looked on every hard drive, flash drive, cd, dvd etc but to no avail so far.
I bought it off a forum post but I can't remember which forum. Did anyone sell bitcoin in 2009 and if so which forums did you use, I am trying to retrace my steps in the hope it jogs my memory,  I've only been looking for the last 2 years 🤣 so I don't mind looking for another 2 years.
Cheers
When you bought Bitcoin in 2009 you should have collected important papers and kept them. But in 2009 the value of Bitcoin was not so much that you did not take care of it and lost the important papers where you left them. but since you said you have moved your house from one place to another several times, I think you might not be able to find your important papers. If you don't look for your lost papers but search which forum you bought them from you might find them. Your complete steps will definitely require you to work harder so you can rest assured that you can always find success.

Didn't want to disappoint the OP but from what he recounted, I don't think he'll stand a chance of getting that bitcoin back. Although it is tough to buy bitcoin now compared to 10 years ago because the price has increased by thousands of percent, but I think instead of wasting time searching in vain, he should use his time to work and accumulate bitcoins from scratch. He was not the only one who threw his bitcoins in the past, a lot of people also didn't appreciate bitcoin at the time, and they spent a lot of time and money looking for it when it was of high value. But so far, I have not heard of anyone succeeding in finding their bitcoins.
1729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin will become stable currency? on: May 10, 2023, 08:34:28 AM
The latter characteristics make it a far better investment than a Government/bankers' currency in my opinion.

While there is nothing wrong with many people wanting to use it as a peer-to-peer currency, to be honest, I think given the characteristics of bitcoin, it is more suitable as an investment rather than a currency of the world.
14 years of existence and development, it has brought many opportunities, helping many people become rich and financially stable. It is doing very well as an asset, an investment, so we don't need to change anything with bitcoin.
If bitcoin becomes the currency of the world and stabilizes, we will no longer have the opportunity to improve our finances through bitcoin, so don't expect bitcoin to be stable, it's not in our favor.
1730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 09, 2023, 06:50:55 PM
Well.. so far everything going as per your prediction. Actually Mumbai Indians got a good start when Jason Behrendorff got both Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat in his first spell. But the other bowlers were unable to keep the pressure (especially Chris Jordan and Akash Madhwal). After 10 overs, Royal Challengers Bangalore are 104/2, with a run rate of more than 10. If there is no fightback from the MI bowlers, then RCB may easily make 220-230. The selection of Chris Jordan was a mistake. They should have played one of the Indian pacers instead and got Brevis as the 4th overseas player.
RCB and Mumbai teams managed to get 10 points in 10 matches. And so a win in today's match is very important for both the teams if they want to move into the top four of the table. However, it is difficult to predict which team will win as the performances of the two teams are somewhat erratic.
Bengaluru managed to collect 140 runs in 13 overs. Virat Kohli got out after collecting only 1 run today. du Plessis remains unbeaten with 61 off 37 balls. Besides, he managed to play an excellent innings of 68 runs off 33 balls. In the last 7 overs, Bengaluru will probably be able to collect as many as 80 runs. If they are able to give a target of 220 runs, the chances of Bengaluru winning are high.
The partnership between Faf du Plessis and Maxwell proved to be an essential part of the match. Mumbai Indians got the breakthrough, and Maxwell had to depart despite his impressive knock. Later on, RCB also lost du Plessis when they needed him the most, even though he had already scored 65 runs from just 41 balls. I must admit, after losing these key wickets, I felt that Bengaluru would struggle to set a decent target. However, I was proven wrong as the runs kept coming for them. DK added some crucial runs for RCB, which ultimately helped Bengaluru post a challenging total of 199. Now, let's see if their bowlers can defend this score.

RCB lost the match. They also lost the match very convincingly. Mumbai Indians got to the target with 21 balls left and the target was 200. That alone speaks volumes about the bowling of RCB. It is quite sure that RCB is not going to do well with this type of bowling performance.

Don't get me wrong.  the target was very good from RCB. But when your opponent is reaching 200 and still having 21 balls left you have a problem to fix. I think it will not be very realistic for the RCB fans to hope for too much from them in this tournament.
1731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 08, 2023, 03:40:09 PM
The reason for the loss of the Pakistan team is (those who batted well in the previous 4th ODI match did not score runs in the 5th ODI match) this is the main reason for the loss of Pakistan. In the 5th ODI match, you notice that Masood, Babar Azam, Rizwan have performed very poorly in batting form. If they could have scored some runs and then the pressure on the other players would have been much less. The good batsmen collapsed in the power play which put the Pakistan team under a lot of pressure and at the end of the wicket. But if the over survived, Pakistan's victory was hidden in the survival of the wicket.
Meanwhile, New Zealand performed very well in terms of bowling due to which New Zealand's victory was assured. The small number of runs that New Zealand set was much lower than in other matches. That's why I think the biggest role behind New Zealand's victory is the bowling.
It is accurate to say that the crucial Pakistani batsmen subpar performance in the fifth ODI match contributed significantly to their defeat. The failure of Masood Babar Azam and Rizwan to repeat their batting performance from the previous game put a lot of pressure on the other players. Recognising New Zealand great bowling effort which made it challenging for Pakistan to score runs is nevertheless crucial. When it mattered most the New Zealand bowlers were able to stop Pakistan from scoring by getting wickets. New Zealand was able to defend the modest total they had posted more easily as a result. In the end, the result of the game was determined by a mix of Pakistan's subpar batting and New Zealand's superb bowling.

Disappointing performance from Pakistan in the last match. I thought they are going to whitewash New Zealand. The batting performance from Pakistan was not good at all in this match.

Well, we all saw that we actually thought Pakistan easily win. But Pakistan had a collapse in the batting lineup. Only two individual scores to speak of. Agha and Iftikhar played well for Pakistan. There is actually nothing much to speak of. I wouldn't say it was something outstanding from New Zealand. It was actually a shitty performance from Pakistan.

[......] That push by Jokic going to get him suspended?
There's no official announcement yet but I hope the technical foul was enough punishment for him. It would be a shame if he misses game 5. I personally don't think he deserves to be suspended because of the incident.
Funny how Booker responded when asked. He said something like the he did the job by helping them get 1 point from the technical hehe. As if it's part of the plan to provoke Jokic.
I also think that technical foul should be enough. There is no actual excuse for what he did but it is not something big. I saw that he pushed the owner of Suns(don't know if it is correct info) but what that person did was just absolutely wrong. What could the Suns gain from one possession like that? 3 points? Make Denver lose the rhythm? These are very cheap actions, make the sports very bad in my opinion.
On the other hand both Booker and Jokic play splendidly. I genuinely love these kind of huge performances in the playoffs. It is like art to me. I saw some people calling Booker overrated. That is just wrong. According to what people call him overrated, it is not wise. He's playing with 80 percent on-court hits and an average of 40 points. Every shot is also with double team. He almost does not have one open shot.

Well, it is hard to keep calm when you are playing so well but still losing. Jokic dropped 53 points on his own. After a great performance like that it is really heartbreaking to see the team losing.  I am not saying that he didn't do anything wrong. But I also believe that there is no need to make a huge issue out of it.

Anyway I did not think that Phoenix Suns will actually be able to draw the series with the Nuggets. But they have actually proved me wrong. It was a close match. It did not feel like one sided at any stage. Great for the neutral fans.

Help me to find out any best telgram signal group. I dont have time for analysis. Just check the signal and trade. Thts all i need for trading crypto. So suggest me some best signal group.

If you do not have time to analyze the market, then you should not invest in this market because no success depends only on others. To earn money in society you also need to work hard, you cannot ask someone to work for you, and you will get paid without doing anything. In this market too, no one is kind enough to be able to help you earn free money without you paying any price. What you are looking for is a scam, and if you are stubborn in looking for it, you will soon see the consequences.

-.-

What we need to do now is to think and invest in the next 5-10 years. For the previous years, we wish we had bought bitcoin. Why not buy now?

This is what I want to say, why don't we buy bitcoin now and hold until 15 years later? We don't have to reminisce about the past and get stuck with it, it doesn't make us any better either. It is never too late to invest in bitcoin, and I think now is the perfect time to invest in bitcoin. If I had to choose, I would rather buy bitcoin now than in the past because the future of bitcoin is more certain than ever. The risk of buying bitcoin in the early days is much higher than buying bitcoin from now on.
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 07, 2023, 01:37:37 PM
For some reason, I really think that New Zealand honestly does not care about losing the series. But there should certainly at least try to avoid the Whitewash.
Strange thinking is that when a team is not interested in winning the series why would they be interested to avoid a whitewash ? Rather if a team has such an approach they should not tour for the series and bring a bad name to their country.

Now coming to today's final match, New Zealand have won the toss and they have decided to bat first. They have scored almost 72 runs in the first 15 overs and lost only one wicket. Will Young is playing at 42 and these young batsmen have survived the early spell from Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf. Mohammad Wasim too one wicket though.

I think NZ team has started well in this final match but it's too early to say if they will be able to win today or not ?

I feel like New Zealand can actually show some problems which led them to be unable to win the series. But whenever it is a whitewash it certainly does look very bad for any team. And the way New Zealand is playing today it certainly looks like they are very interested in avoiding the whitewash.

Currently New Zealand 249 from 42.3 overs. New Zealand still have five wickets in hand. Quite a consistent performance from almost everyone in the New Zealand team so far. But we know that Pakistan can change down very big totals. So, I hope New Zealand will be able to accelerate towards the end.
1736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 07, 2023, 11:29:37 AM
Also I am not sure whether NZC will be thinking about that drastic performance from there team or they are just happy that since they are getting good money from IPL so no worries of 5-0. NZ dont even have there coach here they have hired Saqlain Mushtaq as interim coach for Pakistan tour. While Pakistan must not be too excited about this win as this is not a regular NZ team which will play the ODI world cup.
Bilateral series does not give good money as IPL does and that is the primary reason why big players prefer IPL over national duty. NZC does not have any issues as in the end, ODIWC matters. It does not matter if it's a regular team or not as the NZ team management is testing new players who will be part of the world cup team. As of now with their current performance, it might be hard for the selectors to decide.

I believe it is a big achievement for Pakistan to perform so well. But at the same time, New Zealand is going to think that they did not have the full strength available in this tour. That's why they lost so badly. Now of course they are going to give importance to the world cup. IPL is not anywhere near as important as the world cup. New Zealand is just probably testing out different things right now.

For some reason, I really think that New Zealand honestly does not care about losing the series. But there should certainly at least try to avoid the Whitewash.

Ok, first of all.... Bitcoin is not an investment... it's supposed to be an alternative payment option.  Wink
There's also nothing wrong with looking at bitcoin as an investment, I bet you 99% of people are here to invest, not bitcoin as a payment option. People are just trying to accumulate bitcoin and then sell it for profit, few people are willing to spend bitcoin instead of fiat for daily life even if they are living in a country where bitcoin is legal.

We do not want you to break the laws and go to jail for tax evasion, before you even started your career. So, be careful and do your research before you start buying and selling crypto currencies.

When it comes to taxes, even myself, we use bitcoin anonymously because we don't want to pay taxes. I also believe most bitcoin investors are evading taxes more than performing their civic duty.
1738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What a shame on: May 07, 2023, 11:11:51 AM
Honestly, it's hard to argue with that because we live in a world with governments. If we want to enjoy using bitcoin based on its main purpose, which is decentralization, we can't expect it to happen because government intervention would make that decentralization centralized.

The government will decide whether to regulate bitcoin or not, and if they choose not to regulate it, that means it's banned or illegal.

If you want bitcoin to exist without government interference, it won't prosper, and mass adoption won't happen, which will likely lead to its collapse. Currently, major exchanges are regulated, if not all, so it's safe to say that bitcoin is also regulated.

I agree. There is nothing wrong with what his father said, our world is still controlled and regulated by governments, and they have the sole right to decide if bitcoin is a legal currency or not. Of course, we can use bitcoin without government permission, just like investors living in some countries, bitcoin is banned, but they can still invest. Such activities are considered stealthy, illegal, and potentially punishable if detected by the authorities. As long as the world has governments, we can't think we'll be free to do whatever we want without their permission, including bitcoin.
1739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: May 07, 2023, 10:33:48 AM
Can you explain in more detail about the problem you are talking about? since I played crypto in 2017 until now I often hear news like this, government vs crypto is an old problem in crypto. but what has happened so far is that cryptocurrencies continue to grow, bitcoin and altcoin prices continue to increase and more and more new projects appear.
It seems the US wants to impose harsher regulations against this market and for what I have heard even a 30% tax on your gains on this market, a tax that is ridiculous high, if such a law passes you can be sure that many businesses related to this market will leave the US probably to never return, now such a thing does not affect me but at the same time the US has many allied countries, and if the US take this posture then it is likely many other countries will begin to do the same thing during the next years, possibly affecting a great deal of the participants of this market.

Do you have a link for this? As far as I remember, they only tax the miners, not all the investors. If they do, it is no different from the policy that the Indian government is imposing on the crypto market. A policy that will cause many people to evade taxes, leaving the US market searching for other potential markets. But I don't think they are against crypto, they are simply making money from us, they have let us free for a long time, and now they see its potential.

Currently, Liverpool only has a 1 point gap with Manchester United who are in fourth place, but we also have to know that Liverpool have played 35 matches, while Manchester United have just played 33 matches. That way, it is still difficult for Liverpool or there is no guarantee to be able to finish in the top four, because Manchester United could get good results in the next five matches.
Because previously I also didn't pay much attention to this factor, so it seemed that Liverpool had a chance to finish in the top four. But yeah, we don't know what will happen next, and if Liverpool are very lucky but Manchester United are unlucky, then surely Liverpool have a chance to finish in the top four. Who knows!
Manchester United is ahead of Liverpool with a point difference in the Premier League standings, Manchester United is in 4th position with 63 points, while Liverpool is still in 5th place with 62 points.
Liverpool won't be able to finish the Premier League in the fourth or fifth spot this year, as Brighton Club, who are presently in seventh place, have only played 32 games and have gotten 55 points, compared to Liverpool's 35 games with 62 points.
In my estimation or forecast for the Liverpool squad. They have an increased likelihood to finish the season in either the fifth or sixth spot on the Premier League table. The league table result would be like this: Manchester City(1st), Arsenal(2nd), Newcastle(3rd), Manchester(4th) Brighton(5th), and Liverpool(6th)
I dont think Brighton can win all of those games. Even tho they are in good form for them to reach the fifth place is too much honestly. Also Man Utd is in bad form and Liverpool is taking huge advantage of that and closing the gap so it might be a tight race in the end for that fourth place in the league.
You are correct. The possibility of Brighton winning their three matches to complete 35 matches played is slim. Their upcoming three matches are Everton, Arsenal, and Newcastle.
It's possible to see Liverpool make it to the top position if they stick to this their winning ways

hahay, Liverpool is currently playing really well. I believe they have a very good chance to finish in the top 4. They have also played two matches less compared to Manchester United. That will give them a very good chance of getting ahead of Manchester United if they can win the matches that they have less played. We can also see in the last 5 matches of Manchester United. We can certainly say that it is not as good as Liverpool. Liverpool did start the season very badly. But now they have a genuine chance of making things right by finishing in the top 4.
