The sad part is, I don't even think veganism is that bad if done properly, but you encourage it like it's a miracle diet that will save you from everything, including low IQ.

Also, I would never watch any video with the title, "how to prevent death". Prevent death? I hate pretentious titles like that, that only serve to lure the reader in.

It's good you just discovered exercise. I don't know many people that go outside for exercise and an hour or two later say, "gee i really feel like having a nap now.." Exercise is supposed to wake you up because it raises your body temperature and gets the blood flowing.

I've already seen enough vegans to know I don't want to ever do veganism. Low test levels in men as well as women losing their periods while on it because they don't get any cholesterol anymore. Problems with their teeth, vitamin deficiencies etc. Not to mention the cult like mentality that comes along with it.

Why even bother posting pictures of greek philosophers? Those quotes can be taken in from so many different perspectives that it's rather pointless and just shows how childish your arguments are.

Woah, so profound!

You should give it a try man, at least for a week, and observe how much better you feel and how much more energy you're having.

Video: Benefits I felt after taking meat out of my diet

Veganism pretty much saved me from every life issue I was having. There was nothing that became worse thanks to changing my diet, so yes it definitely can be a 'miracle cure' that can solve all problems. Everything became better man, EVERYTHING. My thinking process, my energy levels, my relationships with people, my skills in different fields, everything improved.

Also I find it hard to believe you've met 'enough vegans in your life' to know not to try it out. I've met only met ONE vegan my entire life, and he was FIT. How the heck do you know what their testosterone levels were anyway? Did you get a blood test from them? On average vegans have higher testosterone levels than vegetarians who have higher testosterone levels than meat eaters.

Problems with teeth and VITAMIN DEFICIENCIES?! LOL? Are you crazy dude? You should be getting way more vitamins and nutrients from this diet with every meal. I have had two teeth removed, several carpal tunnels, lots of teeth fillings, very expensive, and let me tell you that wasn't from a diet of eating fruits and vegetables. My parents for example have very few real teeth left and wear dentures plus they ate only the standard American diet.

Even though I've added exercise to daily routine, I'm still having more free time than ever. When you are able to think clearly and when you're always full of energy, you get things done a lot quicker, and it also gives you extra time to double check for any errors.

At one point I actually hated exercising, I didn't have any energy, I would always fatigue quickly, and could never catch up or keep up with people in running. I couldn't even run a mile. I'd run two laps around the track and I'd crash.

Now I'm not having any problems with energy, my energy levels are through the roof. Instead of taking the car I'm now taking my old bike and cycling, saving myself $30 or more a week, and it is SOOO EASY. So freakin' easy man, no effort at all on my part, it's like my body wants to move, it's actually a lot of fun, and my body feels better afterwards.

Let me know why I never had this energy before while eating meat in my diet. I have tried pretty much every diet out there and none of them worked as well as this. If it were so bad for me, if I hated it, I would not be doing it nor would I be talking about my benefits about it. But it hasn't let me down, the food is delicious and healthy, I'm saving lots of money, and honestly I never felt this good in my entire life. Plus I have more care about the animals and the environment than ever before. Let me know why I'm fitter and smarter now than I have ever been in my entire life. Let me know why I'm able to beat people in running races who exercised their entire life, and I only just started.

You probably never had this much energy before because you ate a lot of unhealthy junk as well as meat. You'd probably be in better shape than you are right now if you started eating meat. You're fitter now because you've been lazy all your life and never exercised. As for beating experienced runners as a beginner, you must be racing tortoises or something. Even old people who've been running their whole life can easily beat novice runners. Cutting meat out your diet isn't going to suddenly turn you into superman.

I'm on 14 confirmations and nothing on my account still. They seem to have stopped doing the zero confirmation thing

It may be an issue with bitpay? I had another transaction go through instantly a few days ago.

1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Height of Greed- Deny Satoshi's Bitcoin on: June 09, 2014, 01:49:05 AM
If satoshi wants to destroy his/her/their/its coins, they will.

The whole point of this thread seems to be based on the transfer of greed rather than any sort of democratic concept.

Even if satoshi destroyed his coins we wouldn't know. All he'd have to do is delete his wallets and destroy any paper wallets he may have. The coins would still appear on the blockchain, and we'd still think he's holding his BTC.
1725  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC reach $50,000? on: June 09, 2014, 01:32:25 AM
I think bitcoin is more likely to become obsolete than to ever reach $50,000. Maybe $10,000 in a few years if it goes mainstream, but I'dIimagine by that time there will be more serious competition for Bitcoin in the crypto world.

This means i become a server on which they can store all data that passes through the safe network?

Not quite.  You become a 'server' which portions of files will be stored, the allocation of such being more or less decided by random.  The purpose of only storing a portion of a file is to insure security.

Say you have a file that you want saved on the Safe Network.  It will get broken down to four seperate pieces and stored on four separate computers.  Since each of the four computers only have a portion of the file, they cannot see/access the entire file.  You would be the only one with access to all of the four pieces.

So yeah...you become a 'server' for fractions of files...but they may or may not remain on your computer for the entirety of the files existence (I think).

Not sure how the Safe Network will decide how much of your unused computer space to use but people are already talking about buying disk space specifically for this so there should be plenty of space for everything...

I think if they're able to get the farming concept running smoothly, bitcoin mining could see some real competition. Unlike BTC mining, which now requires expensive ASIC machines that are available to a few, farming can be carried out using computer hardware that people already own.
1727  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: June 09, 2014, 01:11:55 AM
Nothing is wrong with eating meat and I am not opposed to salads but the majority of vegan/vegetarian food tastes like utter horseshit.

What exactly constitutes vegan food? If it's every dish that doesn't contain animal products then I'd have to disagree with you. Most people who eat a well-balanced diet will consume a good amount and variety of fruits and vegetables. Obviously meat copycat veggie products will never taste like meat, but they don't necessarily taste bad in the least.

1729  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where is the weekend rally? on: June 07, 2014, 09:45:55 PM
From what I've seen, the price of BTC usually doesn't move much on the weekends. People can't deposit fiat onto exchanges because their banks are closed.

Aside from boxing ability, Jeff Primm was (and now certainly is) provably in better shape than Mike Tyson in his prime (more lean muscle mass with a lower body-fat percentile and comparable agility and stamina).  Now, Jeff is in his mid to late 50's and he's still over 250 lbs. at ~6% body fat.  He looks like he's in his late 30's and sill has the strength of an NFL linebacker and the speed/agility of a running back.  I'd listen to him over Tyson any day, and in any time period.

lol! Don't mean to go off-topic, but http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-22RvoxJU_I

Tyson's speed and agility were on another level for a fighter of his size, so this Primm guy shouldn't even be compared to Tyson. Pro fighters are generally some of the best-conditioned athletes. Muscle mass isn't everything, functional strength is where it's at in the real world.

You and coingeneral seem to be going further into opposite extremes, with both of you making outlandish and exaggerated claims: eating meat is not detrimental to health, 250 pounds of lean muscle mass is not healthy, 1.x percent bodyfat is very unhealthy, etc.

Try steering the conversation away from pro athletes and bodybuilders and more info the realm of the average person.

I imagine safecoin will need regular updates to work out all the kinks once it's released.

here:
www.maidsafe.org

What does that link have to do with what I wrote? I already know that there's an active community discussing msafe and devs posting on the Google group. The point that I was trying to make is that cloning safecoin privacy went have much effect. Look at all the litecoin clones that ended up being forgotten after their initial hype.
1732  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens when Paypal accepts Bitcoin ? on: June 06, 2014, 03:03:51 AM
http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000281677

Let me quote - "At Paypal we will have to integrate digital currencies into our wallet"
He has also said that he himself owns some bitcoins.

What does this mean in the short term , what will happen when people hear that Paypal  may support Bitcoin in the indeterminate future ?
I think the bare news will cause a rise in the price of a bitcoin , but by how much ?

And what does this mean in the long term , when the day comes that Paypal accepts Bitcoin ? Will this convince more people to join use Bitcoin on its own or will Bitcoin just be another payment method , muddled up inside Paypal ?

This will definitely increase Bitcoin awareness , but will this make Paypal take over Bitcoin business from sites like bitstamp and blockchain.info's wallet or will this make people leave Paypal for Bitcoin ?

And last but not least , will the forum explode as news of this spreads ? There has always been a don't mix Bitcoin and Paypal policy , how easily will people switch to Paypal ?

The more people and business start to accept bitcoin the better it will be and I think it will cause a bit price rise if not much and it will also effect ebay in a good way, as it will easy for more people to use bitcoins to purchase stuff off of ebay. I am actually looking forward to this.

I don't think they would implement BTC in a way where you could pay for an item on eBay with BTC. They'll probably have a system where you can add funds to your PayPal account using BTC, and it converts it to your local currency. Either way this news will definitely have a positive effect on the price.
1733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm having some doubts about whether it's ethical to make money off of Bitcoin on: June 06, 2014, 02:56:53 AM
Buying anything is risky. Even holding dollars is a losing proposition. People seem to think risk is somehow unique to bit coin.

On a broader thesis, life itself is risky. Anything you do has inherent risk, its just whether the risk justifies the reward.

Back on topic, I don't see how this is any different from making money on the forex market. For you to make money, some poor sod will have his currency devaluated compared to yours. It's just a fact of life, you might as well try and be sad about the fact that the world is inherently unfair. Sure, you try and do your bit, but you can hardly expect to change the whole world.

Competition is what makes us a successful species. There will always be winners and losers and I think that is okay, even preferred.

Maybe the OP should consider donating some money to charity if he profited a lot off of bitcoin. That'll help clear your conscience. Although I don't really see anything inherently wrong with buying and selling BTC.
1734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The future of mining on: June 06, 2014, 02:47:55 AM
It is a possibility I guess, we've already seen the mining game shift towards those who are more financially privileged and companies. I think if such a scenario became a reality, most people may opt to fork the blockchain and use a different hashing algorithm to break the monopoly on mining.
1735  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens when Paypal accepts Bitcoin ? on: June 06, 2014, 02:38:53 AM
I think it will have a positive effect on the price of BTC, simply because more people will adopt bitcoin if PayPal starts supporting it. Although in the long term, BTC may overtake PayPal if people start realizing that you can't get a wallet suspended the same way PayPal suspends and limits people's accounts all the time. So the news is good for BTC, but potentially very bad for PayPal.
1736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm having some doubts about whether it's ethical to make money off of Bitcoin on: June 06, 2014, 02:27:38 AM
Buying bitcoin is not without risk. So while you may feel bad that you're making a profit when someone buys your coins for a higher price, you could have lost money if the price dropped a lot and you had to sell.
1737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: June 06, 2014, 02:20:50 AM
i wait for the clone with no ipo and finished product. I will buy the advanced clone of this if it is any good. Buying coins that you can not withdraw from exchange is not my thing.

I imagine safecoin will need regular updates to work out all the kinks once it's released. Whoever clones it is probably not going to be able to patch bugs faster than the maidsafe team. Plus there's already a user base who's infested into this project and will support it, whereas a clone will have a hard time gaining traction with no community support.
1738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: June 06, 2014, 02:13:53 AM
So taking this debate to other level..!
If anyone here heard about Prahlad Jani ?
This man claims to have lived without food and water since 1940,
Put into Investigation thrice but noone noticed anything suspicious other than that its not Scientifically Possible.

The man is definitely a fraud. No food or water the last 74 years? His body may have adapted itself whereby he can go for long periods without food or water, but he's definitely eating and drinking every now and then at the very least.

1739  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's wrong with eating meat? on: June 04, 2014, 06:16:07 PM
I noticed the beyond spicy vegan buffalo bites in the picture are $10.99 per pound. What a ripoff! I can buy a whole cooked chicken here for $6.00. And you said the vegan diet is cheaper  Roll Eyes

Why are they trying so hard to make their vegan dishes look like meat? They'll never have quite the same texture and flavor anyhow. That fruitarian guy is probably lying or is heavily supplementing his diet. Fruits generally aren't a good source of protein or fat.

1740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: June 04, 2014, 12:39:44 PM
status?
Still in active development...

And now you realise how stupid it is to send money to a project that is not finished.

What if it takes years to develop ?

What if a competitor release its product before ?

What if competitors are better ?

Have you considered the fact having money frozen for unknown duration is like losing money ?

There's definitely a large risk involved with investing in a company like maidsafe. But there's also the chance of a big reward if the SAFE network becomes a hit. It does appear from reading various development forums that they're closer to releasing a finished product than any of their competitors.
