1741  Other / Off-topic / Re: Twitter CEO and pro-Bitcoiner Jack Dorsey strikes again! on: December 13, 2019, 03:08:40 PM
There is a problem that you need to understand, social networking is difficult to manage. Up to now, there has not been any specific standard for a decentralized social network. Twitter is trying to be a pioneer in this area, this is a bold move. If you think about it, you can see that Twitter is the main vehicle for promoting cryptocurrency projects. From there, we can understand Jack's decision. I look forward to their development announcements.  Cheesy
1742  Economy / Gambling / Re: Game-protect scam even more nefarious than you might think. on: December 13, 2019, 01:12:08 PM

He didn't cheat. He played and lost. He then tried to extort us to try to get his winnings back. Then, he wanted the affiliate commission of the same losses.
His username was the same. His handle here was the same (game-protect). Conjecture? yes and no. It's safe to make some assumptions. Same username's on affiliate program and bitcointalk handle.  Emails specifically mentioning everything I said.

How can he extort you guys? Your words are ridiculous! If you do not do anything wrong, he cannot extort you. And if he did, you're refusing to give evidence, you're doing nonsense. Did you bring him up here just to discuss? Unbelievable  Cheesy Maybe you only use this topic to promote your website.

Also, about affiliate commission, if your website has affiliate program, he deserves it. I didn't protect him, but the affiliate program is for everyone, right? Of course it does not except him.

On your side, if you don't like it, you can revise the rules on your site. A website whose rules have holes, it will be taken advantage certainly. Do you know what I mean? Make it different, good luck!
1743  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [ASK] Segwit Bitcoin Address on: December 13, 2019, 11:42:58 AM
It depends on the campaign, some of them set it as mandatory (like ChipMixer). I don't see why would anyone be against using SegWit anyway, after all, it benefit you (lower fees) and the network as more people start using it.

You shouldn't use Coinbase or any other online/web wallet (because of the security and safety of your funds yes). Go with Electrum instead (SW fully supported).

Thanks for your support! I have known Electrum for a long time but I have never used it, maybe I will have a few difficulties to starting. Nothing is better than my money being safe!  Grin

I will lock this topic  Cheesy
1744  Economy / Service Discussion / [ASK] Segwit Bitcoin Address on: December 13, 2019, 11:00:13 AM
Hello guys!  Cheesy

I just came back here after a long period of inactivity on this forum, and I have a little question that I hope I gets answered  Grin
As you saw on the title, I want to ask about the Segwit BTC address. I see everyone using it as the payouts  address when they participate in signature campaigns. Is it mandatory? If I don't mention security, what do you think about e-wallet ?(I usually use Coinbase  Cheesy ). Also, give me a few suggestions about the Segwit BTC address that I should use.

Thanks to everyone!  Grin
1745  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: paxful scam alert on: December 12, 2019, 09:05:02 PM
same here, they ask me to verify account, and give selfy photo, and many documents.

i told them i want to leave paxful and withdraw my balance but they rejected to give me my balance.

I think you should follow the verification they need. It is a necessity to ensure your identity. It is not difficult for you to give up your money. You cannot conclude they scam in this way. By making the necessary verification, then giving evidence, the people in this forum can help you in some way.
i was active on paxful since years, and i really loved them but yes, they turned to scam at the end.

Why don't you verify your identity when you've been active for many years? This is ridiculous.

so you start to buy and sell normally without any problem when you add bitcoin they make your account is frozen when you try to contact them your problem will never resolved be careful

You should keep a picture (may be screenshot) of their fraudulent actions. It is the only way for you to get help, otherwise you are just a liar. Sorry if I was overreacting, but it was true. Wish you get your money back soon.
1746  Economy / Gambling / Re: 💰 Banker.Bet - Your Casino With Any Coin! 💰 - Sign Up BONUS Ends In A Few Days on: December 12, 2019, 05:00:55 PM
The first thing I see in this topic is an unpleasant color. I think you can accentuate it in other bright colors, but not in yellow. It is dazzling!
About your website, I think it is very beautiful. However, you should have a few notes about the value of the BBC. You have a reward program for new users, but it should be specific to make it easier if you want to attract more players. And finally, you should also explain more about your casino, about the games that you have.
1747  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best way to mix bitcoins on: December 12, 2019, 11:01:27 AM

Personally, i'm a big fan of mixing services. However, you do have to realise these services are anonymous themselfs. You have no guarantee the mixing service itself isn't a honeypot. Personally, i use mixing services to hide my transactions for malicious individuals and to protect my privacy, so i wouldn't care to much if one of the mixers i use turns out to be a governement honeypot. However, i guess some people might be in problems if their mixer turned out to be ran by a 3 letter agency.

I agree with your thoughts. Your purpose is to conceal the transaction, with any mixer it is useful to you.
Also, speaking of hackers, I really feel insecure about my transactions. But I don't think someone would blackmail or rob someone from faraway countries, right? Most hackers hack into security holes to steal money, they never go out to rob. I believe I'm right.
1748  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best way to mix bitcoins on: December 12, 2019, 09:29:36 AM

3. Deposit BTC into a centralized gambling site or exchange and then withdraw your funds.

In case of going with the 3rd option, you should know that these services will know so it's not as secure/safe as the first two options.

I thought you were worried overly! At these sites, they process millions of transactions every day, which means they won't have enough time to check what you're doing with your money. However, if you follow this way, you will incur a cost of 2 times what you have to pay, it's too costly to make. So choose the first one.
1749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Bitcoin scampany got rekt! on: December 12, 2019, 08:50:11 AM
I can't believe that on this year that most of ponzi scheme was already exposed, There is still many people that falling for that scheme and that whoooping 722M$ is an insane
amount. I'm too lazy to read the article but it's hard to believe that they still collected 722M for a cloud mining investment compared on many legit ICO run during 2018 to 2019.
What's really happening in crypto world?  Huh

I think that is the result of greed. We often look at huge profits and forget the consequences that we will suffer. In fact, profits always come with risks, if we are not alert, we will be pull into the scams as above. It's crazy when I see the sum of $ 722 million. The crooks really succeed until they are caught. Fortunately, they were discovered, we should consider it as a lesson.
1750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Italy is now anti-cash and pro-Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2019, 06:33:30 PM
The Italian Minister Council continues to wage its war on cash, with the latest ratification lowering the maximum allowed amount for cash payments. This could lead to the rise of Bitcoin in the country.

It seems that the prime minister of Italy is now in favor of cashless payments than spending paper bills in various products and services.

I think we should not assert too soon. There are many alternatives to cash that are not bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The requirement: the currency be transparent and its value must be recognized by the government and everyone. Legality will make it easily accepted. Bitcoin is just one of many options.
1751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Suisse tram in Zurich, Switzerland on: December 11, 2019, 04:09:24 PM
ChuckBuck&bitcampaign, please do not abuse the quote option, there is no need to make it difficult for everyone to use the forum Angry
Sorry for this carelessness, I'll pay more attention.

When someone tells me Bitcoin is a scam or a Ponzi scheme, then I show them what Switzerland, Germany or Japan think about it and what status Bitcoin has in those countries.

I agree with your comments. In fact, a scam only happens to people who don't understand about cryptocurrency fully. They are often unaware of the mistakes which they can make. More specifically, newbies are often tricked into "ghost" projects. Here, they invest a lot and receive nothing. That is what happened in my country.
1752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Suisse tram in Zurich, Switzerland on: December 11, 2019, 11:09:03 AM
Saw this in Zurich, Switzerland, last Sunday:

It is a good way to advertise! Zurich is a big city, in particular, they have lots of tourists who come to visit every year. I believe this form of advertising will work very well. I like it because Bitcoin is advertised publicly here. I don't have a chance to go to Switzerland, but if possible, I look forward to exploring it. It would be great for an experience!
1753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reinventing paper money in a cashless society on: December 10, 2019, 08:18:51 PM
I'm working on an idea and it might sound a bit far-fetched but it is a 'virtual currency' made to be stored offline much like a paper wallet. But I'm not storing any bitcoin private key. I'm creating what is called a ticket. Each ticket has a unique set of codes and the whole idea is that it must be easy for people to write down these codes so you can create your own set of money or complementary currency.  A long story short, my plan is to use Bitcoin as an "intrinsic value". Since the whole point of this project is mimicking physical cash in a cashless society  Shocked it can't be backed by fiat.

Another point to make is that the idea is that small or large communities can run their own server backing their 'community currency' and it doesn't have to be that powerful. It is not a decentralized solution, so it will be built on trust, but there is no way to trace or log transactions, just like cash.
I'm currently running in beta ( 52blocks.net ) with focus on testing it out and doing hand-to-hand transactions. But in near future I'll add some new features .
My current issue is how to give each ticket it's own value. I would like to hear your opinions on this project and what would be the best way of assigning value by using bitcoin.
As a community currency you don't need to trade your ticket for bitcoin for each transaction, but if you don't want to create your own set of cash, you can burn a ticket for a new one and also (in the future) collect it's value ..

I'm afraid your ideas won't come true. You need to make sure that each ticket has a unique set of codes, which means the code is as complex as the Bitcoin address. Do you think this code can be recorded easily? I am not definitely. Therefore, I doubt feasibility of your idea. In addition, you are talking about a "belief" solution. A meaningless word when talking about economics. It is not transparent enough to be recognized because It is not a decentralized solution.
1754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Week (Dec 22-28) on: December 10, 2019, 04:00:13 PM
It's about that time of year. It only happens once per year. "Bitcoin Week" ... it really seems like it should be a thing doesnt it?

People buy a lot of bitcoins during those holiday times.

All nuzzled up all comfy in clean warm clothes, sitting on comfy couch next to the tree glowing, the scent of pine in the air, sipping hot chocolate! Might as well buy some coin on your laptop. Buy, hold, whatever it is...

So should we coin this and put a stamp on it?
This is crazy! It's opposite of what actually happened. It is the last time of the year. And I think people will sell large amounts of bitcoin. As usual, the bitcoin price will drop slightly by 5-10% at the end of the year and it will return in the first quarter of next year. The value of bitcoin depends on the general trend of the world, especially, the most influential countries like China often sell a lot of bitcoins at the end of the year.
1755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: crypto earnings on: December 10, 2019, 10:06:45 AM
guys how to get around local tax laws and convert crypto earnings into legal fiat?
It is not difficult if I did not say that it was easy. In fact, bitcoin is banned from trading in my country. But the law always has holes, and we take advantage of it. They do not allow us to "trade", so we use it for "exchange". It is difficult to express it in English. We can understand simply, it is the difference between buying - selling and giving - receiving. In particular, I do not need to pay any income tax from the cryptocurrency. That is a wonderful thing!
1756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: France to launch their own cryptocurrency on: December 09, 2019, 09:18:08 PM
well, it seems like France will also launch their own cryptocurrency next year. it's funny that just year ago they despise cryptocurrency(article about it) and now they are launching their own cryptocurrency
and even teaching high school students about cryptocurrency(article about it) and preparing them for it. how things have changed in just a year Cheesy Cheesy

We should understand that this is an economic war. And in this war, victory will belong to the person who acts exactly. Not long ago, China announced that it would develop its cryptocurrency. It is a bold move! I think they understand the importance of cryptocurrencies. However, the nature of each cryptocurrency is different, it can be discreet or transparent. In short, I think France will take action.
1757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Google's Quantum Computer Destroy Bitcoin? on: December 09, 2019, 07:21:06 PM
According to external sources, Google has already designed a Quantum Computer that's much more powerful than its competitors (like IBM and other mainstream companies working on this). If Google starts designing these computers in mass, then it could result in a risky journey for Bitcoin within days ahead. It's no secret that Quantum Computers are able to break our existing encryption methods, rendering cryptocurrencies completely vulnerable against them. Of course, it's widely possible to prevent this by making use of Lamport Signatures within the Bitcoin blockchain. But I believe that it'll be hard to implement into the pioneer cryptocurrency, since it'll require a hard fork of the blockchain.

Nonetheless, do you think that Google's Quantum Computer will be able to destroy Bitcoin in the future? Or will the pioneer cryptocurrency adapt itself against this new trend? Huh

About objectivity, the introduction of Quantum Computer is a new step in technology. It is inevitable. And it's really powerful, a Quantum Computer can perform billions of calculations per second, it has been proven. It's more powerful than supercomputers in the world right now. If cryptocurrency wants to exist and grow, it must be adapted. But I don't know how blockchain can be adapted, and even impossible. Hard forks are not enough, at least for now.
1758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Increase Bitcoin adoption on: December 09, 2019, 05:17:24 PM
Honestly, this kind of system could really be a huge help to increased bitcoin adoption because a lot of stores could imitate it and will start to become interested to buy bitcoin too, if this kind of transaction in exchange of goods will be successful. Also, if every stores in our country are now starting to accept cryptocurrency or bitcoin as payment it will be a pleasure and convenient for us crypto users because i don't need to go to banks just to cash out and convert my bitcoin into fiat just to provide my neccesities.
It is great, but it is not a new idea. In many countries, Bitcoin is very popular, I can buy goods online and pay with Bitcoin. But worse, I lost a cost of nearly $ 4 per transaction. You know, shipping costs + payment costs in bitcoin create a huge cost for each order. I think I should choose another currency that costs less. And if there's any way to resolve the cost, I would be happy definitely.
1759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Increase Bitcoin adoption on: December 09, 2019, 01:57:51 PM
I will ignore the user interface design, because it can be improved.
More importantly, if users pay with bitcoin and ethereum, who will pays for each transaction? We know that the cost for each bitcoin transaction is very high. I believe that customers do not want to pay it. Paying in cash will be cheaper. How will you solve this problem? I want to hear your solution.
1760  Economy / Economics / Re: China launching its own crypto currency ? on: September 12, 2019, 09:18:23 PM
The Chinese government is really strict when it comes to issues that has to do with the economy. The introduction of any cryptocurrency by the Chinese government would easily be manipulated by the central government hence it would be very difficult for the outside world to enjoy such  cryptocurrency which is not decentralized.
I think no one wants to enjoy a money with no potential except the Chinese, large population may be an advantage, but it can not help this coin has the power to control the market. I still don't appreciate this currency, wait and see how it will form. I bet it will take a lot of time.
