What is what everyone says that conversion from the AE is halted?
Will I be able to trade my stakes on the AE once nem is launched? So I can sell on the AE and buy the nem coins from an exchange? Or I still need to pm you? Not sure I have understood how that works...very newbie and limited it skills sorry..
We don't issue assets right now - that' all that is halted. To get NEM after launch you don't have to have an asset on the NXT AE, that's just for people who think that's safer or want to trade PRE-launch.

YES: NEM have many socks and second auditing is needed. Many socks are voting. It is not fair.[/size]
Yeah, prove it or shut the fuck up. You know very well he can't prove it. I can understand you guys can reach your limits with the constant questioning and accusations. Why not just passively endorse a "3rd party" audit conducted by fellow NEM enthusiasts in the community who have nothing to do with you on a personal level. As was pointed out earlier its easy for anyone to conduct most of the audit on their own, they just have to take charge. At this point I don't care, I read the last 20 pages of the moderated thread and agree with Kod that people with skills who want to help out might better put their time to use working on NEM-related projects. If I was a programmer, well I'd make my own software for my own assets first but later I'd work on NEM stuff too. We've seen many people claiming that there are a lot of puppets but so far noone has shown any form of proof. That's why I reacted like I did. Just post proof or shut the hell up. What's the point ? Usually I would support projects from the community but this is something that will do nothing but make another fuzz about socks and piss people off.

I'm not going to engage in any of the FUD I had to read through in this thread. We've addressed this stuff on multiple occasions. What I do want to address is the whole second audit thing. There will be no second audit of the list as it is at least not from the core team. It just doesn't make any sense. We're certainly not going to consider any results from NODE since little information is revealed on how they are identifying puppets and imho what they're doing isn't the right way to handle such things. We are however in the process of desgining how stakes will be claimed. We're looking to make it as hard as possible and as time consuming as possible to claim multiple stakes from one machine. We all know that this isn't a 100% deterrent but we think it's the only thing left that makes sense and is fair. Think about what puppets will do with their stakes anyway. They're going to sell them which is only distributing NEM further. As long as there are no huge whales around (which is exactly what we're trying to avoid with a technical approach) a few puppets won't hurt NEM. What will hurt NEM is starting this puppet hunt all over again. Why open up votes on btt ? Every single person on btt can vote even the ones who haven't heared about NEM before - how much sense does that make ? Wanna have a vote among the community do it in our forum YES: NEM have many socks and second auditing is needed. This does not make sense as I buy off AE exchange. So you want to bother me as much as possible if I buy and support NEMstake in the AE exchange? You guys should be clear about what you want. If you don't want me to buy more than 2 then say it then I am going to sell off everything I have but be clear about it. I thought we were talking about the stakeholderlist are we not ? If you bought on the NXT AE then you are not on that list. Obviously we're not going to regulate the free market. Okay. Thanks. YES: NEM have many socks and second auditing is needed. So how do I currently claim my stake that I hold in the AE? Is my stake valueless now? I shouldn't buy more stake from the AE anymore?
Where are you getting this from ? Nothing has changed !
|
|
|
We haven't launched yet so you can't claim your stake yet. We don't even issue tokens right now.

|
|
Just getting caught up - besides the 6-stake sock puppet issue, which seems to be minor, or at least to have passed - why is the price going down? Is there anything else depressing it, or was that it?
Our price falls along with the NXT price as NEMStake is exclusively traded on the NXT AE and it's value is determined in NXT.

Well Pat - as I've said before, it's not clear to people whether there is a limit on the AE or not. I was under the impression that limit of two tokens was lifted a long time ago (since it represents trading which would had happened if NEM launched), but there's some vagueness on that subject.
I'm pretty sure we're not going to stick to that rule. There's no real way of enforcing it anway and also the AE is to be considered the free market and we shouldn't try to regulate that. I can't say 100% sure since this hasn't been discussed with everyone.

He really had all passwords on one pc/ mac? Oh my gosh? I feel with him but this is really stupido
yeah, in a plain text file.... not encrypted. on dropbox no less, where any dropbox employee could had done it (although it was likely related to heart bleed). Even one of those simple encryption done online probably could had adverted this. probably not related to hearthbleed. For being able to exploit hearthbleed bug, the hacker would have need to snif Klee before the patch is made. When heartbleed bug was made public, it have probably took less than a week to correct the login procedure. One week is a long fucking time. I don't think it took dropbox that long though if they were vulnderable. Also an attacker wouldn't have sniffed Klee specifically. An attacker would have sniffed every fucking dropbox connection to the server.

Does anyone recall a few dozen pages back my mention of a HYBRID key?
Part of it is stored like a wallet.dat and part of it is your passphrase, meaning if someone gets the phrase OR your wallet file, they still can't access your funds?
Sounds like an even better idea now.
Isn't that how any encrypted wallet file works already ?

i think the price of NEM is independent to NXT value, i would suspect its pegged in dollar terms as this is an independent project,
NEMs price is currently without a doubt depended on NXTs value as it is traded explicitly on the NXT AE.

So... are we not to buy stakes from NEMstake? I missed the boat being a stakeholder.
If so, are we supposed to cross-reference from the list?
You can still but NEMstakes, what happened with the stolen stakes will not affect NEMstake holders. Edit: Sorry I am not sure what you meant by the second part. Once you buy a NEMstake you just redeem it after NEMs official launch, you won't need to be on the stakeholder list if you bought off of AE. Cool, and what about the NEM Stake Auction? Any news on that? The main thread was impossible to sift through for more details. I'm referring to this btw. Thanks again Sorry, no updates on that other than that it is still planned to happen.

I've added you to the list. Thanks - what does that mean? Are you batching refunds? It means I'm not the one doing the refunds. I'm just adding people to the list and the one that has access to the funds is performing them. Given that that person is a core dev and has a lot to develop it may take some time

Here is another picture *pickofcutie* You ruined my idea there I was going to suggest we tell people if x people make x transactions ont he testnet we'd post a picture of the "girl infront of the blackboard" showing her face (ofc if she would have been cool with it...i guess she was)

What about a raffle function in the client? You could list any item like a house car etc etc, set the min price you would accept, if minimum ticket sales/price target isn't reached by x amount of days, money Is returned to ticket buyers, if minimum reached but not all tickets sell, winner is selected at random on the last day/deadline. If all tickets sell early winner is selected after last ticket is sold? Winner contacts the raffler with details. A business could be worked around this. Instead of we buy any car it could be "we raffle any white at all" lol
It's a good idea but imho it feels more like a 3rd party thing and not a native function of NCC. Remember the client is supposed to be easy as fuck and any function that we add adds some complexity. Good idea but imho better suited for a standalone "service" than a function of the client.

Can we do a raffle type thing? Posting a transaction id being the raffle ticket, name gets added to a list, name picked just before beta winner gets a stake. One ticket per user. We could get the word out and get tons of people to try the alpha.
dude that's a pretty slick idea. We were looking for way to get users to use the testnet a bit more and if every tx is a lottery ticket then this would be a great incentive. care to put that on trello ? us bother, not home atm but will do it shortly. We could do a second one for 2 stakes between beta and full launch. Let everyone know now that there is a second and they will come back and see how much Ben has progressed just between alps and beta. Plus that's a shit ton of money so word could really get around I see you're on your phone again ? Ben = NEM !
