1741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gacha Game on: September 25, 2022, 01:12:29 PM
If you are asking if the person is addicted or not then I would definitely say yes because if that person is spending huge amount just for in game items then he must really be addicted to the game.
We can surely play games to an extent and buy some instore items but spending huge amount is something that only an addict would do.
It might also be a choice by preference but that is something when you are a millionaire and you don't know what else to do with your money.
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 25, 2022, 12:59:56 PM
This should have happened a while ago. Many influencers had already started streaming gambling content on Twitch long time ago.
It was a matter of time before gambling streams got banned on this platform and now that it has happened many people will be saved from these influencers.
So far only a few games in a few gambling platforms are banned but as time goes we might see more games and more sites being added to the list.

Yeah I have placed two bets.

1. 730 sats at $1,001 - $1,250 with odds 4.88 =  0.00003562 sats
2. 1500 sats at $1,251 - $1,500 with odds 2.03 = 0.00003045 sats

So if ETH price stays in the range I will get more than 3k sats for my total bet price of 2230 sats.
Sounds like a fine deal to me  Wink
Why did you only bet $0.42 and not more?

Because that is my usual bet price for BTC/ETH price prediction. I can afford to lose this amount and so even I lose the bet I won't be worried.
Betting more than you can afford to lose and then losing the bet gets you stressed, which I don't want. It's meant to be a fun event.
1744  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin or Netcoin ? on: September 24, 2022, 02:53:08 PM
Today, information appeared that Satoshi Nakamoto, presumably, could call bitcoin a little differently:

snip

Judging by this find, it is possible that Satoshi chose between the names "netcoin" and "bitcoin", but chose the second option, or he prepared absolutely two projects, but the first one was not released at all. What other options do you allow?

After all these years, it is interesting to find out there was an alternative name to bitcoin but truly bitcoin is the name we all needed.
I think no other name would have made it better than bitcoin. Satoshi is truly a genius.

Also, upon doing the whois lookup it is showing that netcoin was last registered on 2010-05-05.
It may also mean that Satoshi eventually gave up the domain and someone else bought it.
Or may be Satoshi himself bought it again with some other account. Also, netcoin.org is going to expire next year.

1745  Other / Archival / Re: Don't worry, bitcoin is cyclical on: September 24, 2022, 02:36:46 PM
Just another reminder that the bitcoin market is cyclical, and everything that we are seeing with bitcoin now has already happened before and the necessary lessons should be learned from this:

There is no eternal bull run, just like there is no eternal bearish trend, so a dump is always followed by a pump. This was well shown to us by the cycles of 2014 and 2018. Now the market is dominated by bears, but sooner or later it will end and recovery and growth will begin:

snip

The low price of bitcoin is not a reason for panic and concern. This is the rare opportunity to buy cheap bitcoins. If you miss this moment now, then next time it may not be presented very soon.

A correction is a time to buy, not to sell. Don't worry - just HODL (or buy more). Smiley

LOL, the image representation is really funny. I liked it when 2015 and 2017 were pulling 2022 up  Grin
I guess that is the truth actually when it comes to holding bitcoin for a long term.
I have lived and survived the ATH of 2017 as well the bear trend after that and this is why I believe that yes bitcoin is cyclical and we will see a new ATH in a fee years.
Cheers to holding.

1746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All I need to teach my employees about Bitcoin on: September 24, 2022, 02:28:11 PM
Good Day fellow Bitcoiners  Kiss.
I am an entrepreneur and also a Bitcoiner, I have two business which am running and in this two businessI accept Bitcoin as a means of payment . I am using Exodus wallet to receive payment.
When ever a customer desires to pay in Bitcoin/crypto in my absence, I am usually contacted by my employees. I have explained some few details on how to receive payment from customers in crypto but I think they still find that means of payment as not being convincing, so I want to take out time to teach them  Bitcoin, advantage, users, how to receive and how to send Bitcoin. I want to give them a full knowledge about Bitcoin. My request from this forum is to give me more hints on other things I must lecture them on concerning 😟 Bitcoin and how to receive payment from customers.

Thanks, Detritus.

Well, if it's all about teaching how to use bitcoin then I will say that you don't have to do the tough job.
There are already so many videos out there on youtube which you can make your employee see and make them understand.
You can talk to them and make them understand how wallets work and how transactions are done practically.
Once they see enough videos and see things practically they will surely understand how the system works.

This is the reason why I think that the price will stay in the range of $1000 - $1500 for ETH by the end of the month.
I have placed my bets and covered the bets in this range.
So, you have placed two bets on ETH price prediction. I think ETH price will stay above $1,251 at the end of this month. The outcome odds will stay around, 5 for $1,001 to $1,250 price range and 2 for the $1,251 - $1,500 price range. Today is the last day to place bets on ETH and BTC price prediction. I just placed a bet on ETH price at the current price range, I had no plan to do it though.

Yeah I have placed two bets.

1. 730 sats at $1,001 - $1,250 with odds 4.88 =  0.00003562 sats
2. 1500 sats at $1,251 - $1,500 with odds 2.03 = 0.00003045 sats

1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 24, 2022, 02:07:59 PM
<snip>
I see. I doubled check their statement about that. Seems like the reason for all of this banning plan is because of those streamers?? that have been sharing and spreading their referral codes and links to their community given that Twitch is prohibiting it.
Why not they just give warning to those people who are doing this. And if they do it again, ban their accounts for amount of time or permanently ban it. That's better than banning those streams for those games like slots.

Why not ? I personally think that banning gambling streams is the right decision.
Besides that, what good does it do by allowing influencers to continue streaming gambling activities anyway ?
1749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What amount of fiat and/bitcoin would you consider safe holding in a bear market on: September 23, 2022, 03:58:54 PM
Well it depends on one's holding capacity actually. I more of a risk taker and currently half of my money is in crypto.
50% of the amount is in crypto while the rest is in real estate and stocks and savings account.
But from a general perspective I think a person should be holding 30% in crypto, 30% in fiat and 40% in real estate and bonds.
This must be a better portfolio to hold on in a bear market.
1750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 23, 2022, 03:53:23 PM
<snip>
Hence influencers won't have any big platform now that Twitch is banning gambling streams.
YouTube has videos for gambling. There are a lot just like Twitch. However, I am not aware if they are allowing gambling stream or there are people who are doing that. But I can assure to you, recorded videos of gambling such as sport, slots, live games, etc. are present in YouTube.
Also, as far as I know Twitch only plans to restrict slot streams, not gambling in general. Sports gambling is still good. Live games, I do not know.

As of now Twitch is planning to restrict slot as well as roulette and dice game streams.
May be in future they might also restrict sports gambling. I don't think live games would be banned.
It's very hard to manipulate the result of live games and so influencers won't be able to influence others into it.
From that perspective such games streaming may not be banned by Twitch.
1751  Economy / Gambling / Re: Will duelbits pay 20k bet? on: September 23, 2022, 02:49:09 PM
If someone bet high amount (20k)+ on this casino and win  like 2-5x time more his money.

would the casiino pay him or find excuse not to pay and ban his account?

Duelbits is a reputed gambling site and just like any other casino site it has it's own rules.
If you qualify the bet and then you would certainly get the qualified amount in your account.
There are some requirements though such as wagering and maximum rewards etc...
You will have to check the conditions in that case but definitely you shall receive whatever is allowed as per the conditions.
1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 23, 2022, 02:45:53 PM
... anyway these gambling streamers can transfer to other platforms I'm sure their followers will follow them on other platforms.

And here is the problem, there are not much platforms for streaming, in the past there used to be Mixer and it was a great one, but twitch kill it. And now looks like the only viable platform will be youtube. But is a matter of time for them to ban gambling too.

Te real problem about this gambling streams in the fake money... we see gamblers like exploited placing max bets and fooling people making them thing that money is real, but they have a deal with the casinos where the money is provided by the house.

On the other hand, if Youtube would have allowed streaming gambling content wouldn't influencers have used it already ?
May be not banning gambling content but I guess Youtube must be having some kind of restriction on gambling related content.
Hence influencers won't have any big platform now that Twitch is banning gambling streams.
1753  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Microstrategy purchased again 301BTC. Is this a sign? on: September 22, 2022, 04:23:20 PM
History has shown us many times that the big players always buy when there's a huge dip in the market.
While the rest of the people are selling their coins in panic some are buying on the other side because they know that the price of bitcoin will soon spike upwards.
We don't know yet whether the price of bitcoin will fall further below $19k or not but the current price is surely a good price to buy some coins.
Averaging at this price is surely a good strategy currently.
1754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 22, 2022, 04:09:15 PM
Now that's a big news because Twitch is like "The" place for streaming gambling sites content.
It is also used by other gamers for streaming but influencers had been using this platform for their own benefits.
Paid streaming started it's evolution from on this platform since many influencers started streaming on Twitch.
Now that gambling streaming is going to be banned it's gonna create a short term trouble for those influencers.
Twitch has done a good thing banning gambling streaming since many people used to get inspired to gamble from those streams.

Anyone up for BTC price prediction this month ?
Currently bitcoin is in the range of $17,501 - $20,000 with an odds of 1.98x
I think it will stay in this range until the end of the month but the odds are really low to place a bet on this range.
So I am thinking either to place bet for ETH instead or put a really amount just to have some fun for this bet.
There isn't a big difference between the BTC and ETH price betting ranges odds. Although the most possible price ranges odds are a bit high for ETH, but the price of ETH is very unstable in this month. I have placed a bet on BTC price range and I'm not going to place more bets in this time. Perhaps, the price may stay in the current range. I have placed a bet on $20k to $22.5k price range.

Yeah that is true that ETH price is quite unstable this month since there is a lot of selling happening these days especially after the merge.
This is the reason why I think that the price will stay in the range of $1000 - $1500 for ETH by the end of the month.
I have placed my bets and covered the bets in this range.

1757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Solana be the next Ethereum??? on: September 21, 2022, 02:48:31 PM
Solana quickly became a favorite among many investors, Does it became the next Ethereum Huh Huh Huh

I was once a Solana believer. Although I still trust Solana to become one of the top rated cryptocurrencies but my trust has lowered because of frequent halts in the blockchain.
Halting a blockchain is definitely not good but I guess it was absolutely necessary for Solana to do it.
I still hold a chunk of Solana coins since I still has the potential to recover and gain trust of everyone but then let's see how it goes.

I am also a follower of Sol with what it shows, the blockchain network has a fast processing speed with extremely cheap gas fees, it must be said that it is the fastest and cheapest among the layer 1 blockchains that I used. Any new project has a problem at the beginning of development and we can ignore it but sadly, solana has outage 4 times in 2022 alone, and we still don't know if it will happen in the future or not. That's really sad for a project as big as Solana.

That's rightly said. Outages are also a hurdle for a new project but halting the blockchain itself is seriously a bad thing which promotes centralization.
For a big project like Solana it has definitely defamed the coin but I hope things become better over time.
Still it is one of the best projects in the top 10 which is a strong reason why investing some amount in it is not a bad idea.

Is anyone else having problems with receiving his WOF spins from the premium membership? I was on holiday for 2 days so didn't login but can't find back my WOF spins. Maybe they will still popup later on but just wondering if there are some issues with it?

I don't think there's any problem with receiving the WoF spins from the premium membership.
I am getting it as usual. In fact I am also getting the free WoF spin in the email.
You can also track your WoF spins by going to premium tab and click on transaction history.
It will show you the credited WoF spins.

The FUN token should not be going down because bitcoin is going up in price, there are many things that are difficult to understand in the token and bitcoin, but it should go up, right? the free rolls are quite good because as the price of bitcoin goes up or down they decrease or increase the reward in satoshis, that is what it should be, without the free rolls we bet more the WoF should increase No?

There is a friend who wants to enter freebitcoin, but she has doubts because she says that she is doing poorly in Dice games, I told her that she could use freebitcoin as a wallet but that she should activate the 2fa option to have more security.

I dont think there is any strong relation between bitcoin and FUN price. Ideally, its about how you measure FUN value? Whether its in dollars or BTC, because that can impact it mathematically. Like if FUN is valued 0.0075 and bitcoin is fluctuating all the time then satoshi per FUN would change constantly.

Entering freebitcoin is not that hard and if you are old player then you know very well you cant stay away from the roll button for very long. Using it as wallet is risk, you already have lot of options out there to have private keys and more protection. Kee freebitcoin with what it has to offer.

I don't think there's any correlation for any of the coins in BTC pair. In fact I think that when coins are in BTC pair then it shows their actual growth.
That price is mostly dependent on project fundamentals and how good the coin is performing and providing value in the crypto community.
So if FUN token price is increasing in BTC pair then it is actually making progress from project fundamentals perspective.
1760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Choices: Gamble or Help the poor ? on: September 18, 2022, 12:44:54 PM
In order to understand the psychology of gamblers, i have decided to come up few questions for discussions, and here is the first one.

Suppose that you are a responsible gambler who have allocated a certain portion of money to gamble each month. Now you came across a poor person/family who is in urgent need of money. Will you quit the gambling for that month and give the allocated money to the poor family or will you prefer to gamble as you can't live without gambling ?

Why not both ?

If I am having some extra money with me then I would go for both i.e., I will help that person as well as gamble with the already allocated money for gambling.
If I don't have extra money with me then I will consider helping that person because we eventually lose money in gambling so I will consider that I have gambled and lost that money.
Also, when that person pays back the money I would have double amount to gamble which would be more fun in it's own way right.
