1741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really A Currency or An Asset? on: October 01, 2017, 10:20:41 AM
Its a touch of both honestly , but it functions moreso as an asset that it does as a currency. Currencies can denote any accepted medium of exchange, but in the modern day, currency = stable. it would be hard to transact in a currency that fluctuates. bread might cost less one day, gas might cost double. people would establish a secondary currency; a society wouldnt cope with this for too long Wink

there is an expectation of value increase, or at least value retention, with an asset. this is more of bitcoins speed. you can spend it, but for anything that you would buy bitcoin with that isnt another crypto, you would have been better off using fiat Wink

ask the bitcoin pizza guy.

If I was that guy, I'd kill myself lol
1742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🌟🌟 Datum - Unlock the Bln $$ Data Economy - ICO 17th October - 🌟🌟 on: October 01, 2017, 10:17:18 AM

I believe I speak for every member of the team to apologize, as we did not stick to our (announced) schedule. We haven't been at our best to describe what is going on internally as we are a dynamic multinational team, with development of various portions of the service taking place across multiple countries (Hong Kong, Switzerland, Russia and United States to name the few).

The server-side side of the project is well developed, while it took us some time to get the consumer version of the app accepting IoT data, FB into our API. Having stated that, the Alpha is coming.

Team,

We understand that you are working hard for the success of your project. But you must also understand the success depends on the success of the ICO and thus investor confidence in you. And I think it doesn't take much of your time to communicate to the stakeholders and address their concern.

If this is happening at the ICO stage, what response should we expect after ICO is over?

You are correct. I would say we are opening up as the time goes by, and already now the amount of information shared is more than we did four weeks ago. What is changing is the way how we communicate - we have dedicated staff for Telegram (almost 3000 people there), here at Bitcoin talk (both here and in the bounty thread), we are looking into re-opening Slack or collaborating with different ICOs on the open sourced platform (Slack turned crazy after both Roger and I saw our doppelgangers sending private messages asking for ETH - with anti-spam mechanisms doing nothing).

We've focused a lot of making the public sale available to as many countries as possible, and have looked into every possible angle, including a two tiered approach. It is just that the legal and audit services (we hired two of "the big four") aren't moving as fast as this community (or us as a startup) would like. They are moving in a way which takes us as a very serious startup, and I am really happy that we will have an announcement shortly (actually, several of them) which will show just how serious of a company we are.

Look up into the sky, and there's Datum there. Stay tuned. Smiley

And if you want to talk, we are easily reachable here (send a PM), on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Telegram, email etc.

https://twitter.com/datumnetwork - This is managed by Christiana and myself
https://twitter.com/theovalich/ - My personal Twitter account
https://www.linkedin.com/in/theovalich/ - My personal LinkedIn profile

Well if you guys are handling production the way you're handling feedback, I'd say the future of datum is looking really good! Very professional, I'm impressed! Keep up the good work!
1743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it too late to buy NEO? on: October 01, 2017, 10:12:39 AM
If i see neo with its potential as per today i write 5his. Neo is $30 with only 50 million neo in circullation it is still under valued as long as bitcoin above $4000. The real neo value with its scalable technologies and its chinese community support it. Maybe it will reach $200

It'll pass 500$ when industrial adoption has reached its peak.
1744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SONM will explode on: October 01, 2017, 10:10:45 AM
Just to let you know that SONM will be listed on Binance Exchange, And this update would explode the value of SONM (from ground to the MOON).

Current value:

SONM $0.084460 (36.12%)

And soon, it will be added on Bittrex and might exceed the value of Golem and iEXEC.

This is very much awaiting project that you might not too missed.
Days have passed since the announcement and nothing even close to an explosion has happened maybe we should judge a coin by its merits and not by the amount of exchanges that list the coin.

The listing of a new coin usually stimulates more volume, and therefore the value. But you're right, Sonm will need to gain more intrinsic value to grow back to the ATH. I have no doubt they'll get there before the year is over, the team is superactive and the plans look insanely good
1745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DIMEcoin on: October 01, 2017, 10:07:29 AM
Thanks a lot my friend...Go On and tell to everyone to buy Dimecoin - now is so cheap , but for few days my friends want to invest and price can be much higher....

Well since there is no roadmap, no whitepaper, nothing new except a logo, what can we expect from dimecoin? Its not gonna go up for no reason, unless you can convince a few whales to pump and dump this coin.

Funny how you instantly become hostile when presented with basic critique. Trying to insult me doesn't make me wrong.

What you're writing is not a critique, it's an empty accusation that it doesn't do anything.

Ok, you're right, my apologies, I should be more patient.
1746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really A Currency or An Asset? on: September 30, 2017, 10:16:10 PM
Bitcoin acts like gold, it used to be a way to pay for things, now its a store of value. Bitcoin will likely go the exact other way
1747  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: September 30, 2017, 10:15:32 PM
Buying now also means you'll get some Bitcoin Gold after the fork on october 25th
1748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: red pulse ICO worth it? on: September 30, 2017, 10:14:38 PM
I gotta say I'm very pleased with the way Red Pulse handles their business. Their communication is clear and professional, and they always seem to be on top of things. It's getting me very excited about the ICO!

If you have already done the KYC process by September 7th and  you don't have received a negative response, you have been accepted!

In Red Pulse you can participate only with NEO coins; if you don't have a wallet you can buy it in bigger and better exchanges, and then bring it to your personal portfolio ... never leave in the exchange!

The Chinese government has not blocked ICO forever; it cannot and does not agree. He just has to regulate it and in this way is making the world see that it is a strong country that makes strong decisions .... but it will not stop the carousel  Grin

When everything is finished, ICO will resume as before and NEO will resume climbing.  Wink
If they truly create a regulation for icos then things are not going to be back as they were before it is possible that many icos just choose to avoid accepting Chinese investors and that is going to damage the success possibilities of any ico not accepting them, but at the same time if China only regulates icos then they could be able to buy those tokens in the open market.

The SEC also announced a Cyber Unit to start regulating ICOs in the US. Hopefully this will lead to more investors/buyers in the long run!
I think it is going to be the opposite many icos are already banning US citizens to participate in their icos, so it is very obvious to me that those icos choose to deliberately lose that market over complying with all the crazy regulation that they will have to go through.

I think ICO's will be regulated, not banned. The US market potential is massive, I doubt they'll choose losing that over following government rules. We'll see I guess, time will tell

And what? You came here for what? The coin develops gradually and consistently. I'm tired of Pizdobolov people like you. Who only Pizdjat and do nothing. I can buy the whole coin tomorrow. But I don't, so we're community. I work with everyone on the team, but you're not one of us.

1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it too late to buy NEO? on: September 30, 2017, 09:53:08 PM
Two different news going around.
1. Korean exchanges listing NEO
2. Rumors about China Government working with NEO

The first one in mind can be ignored for now because coinmarketcap.com does not show anything major in korean exchanges

The second one is worth taking in consideration but i wont go crazy on these news , I sense resistance in  30$ region

I plan on selling a couple on 30 and buying back when it drops back down a little

Be careful, you never know when NEO is gonna just explode, it seems like the type of coin that jumps up 400% overnight when they post crazy news.

^ this is right, it jumps up quick and also drops quickly. I suspect there are a lot of whales in this project that can affect this price. Not easy to track the trend so best to just jump in and hodl until it reaches 100 bucks and over

I sold a small amount for 600% profits and bought Sonm. Neo is an incredible coin, bound to reach triple digits in 2018, but I can't see it break through its ATH anytime soon. I think it'll follow ETH's example (their graphs are rather similar). Sonm on the other hand is just waiting for a boom, and I can see that one rising x10 before NEO does.

I see projects like timereum and other few , is it somehow minereum dev connected to theese projects ?

As far as I know Minereum and Artemine have seperate teams, working towards the same goals (like sister companies). Timereum has nothing to do with either
1754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Antshares/ NEO [NEO] on: September 30, 2017, 07:12:09 PM
NEO is gonna moon again yall, youre a genius if you bought at $15. I didnt get until around $20 but still seeing some gains!

I bought a bunch at 5$, sold 25 of them yesterday at 30$ and bought about 9000 sonm, not because I don't believe in NEO but because I think Sonm could grow faster right now, it's easier for sonm to go to 1$ (its ATH) than for NEO to go to 300$. Both scenarios would give me the exact same profit so I'll take my chances with sonm

1756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: September 30, 2017, 07:02:52 PM
We’ve been listed on Binance!

SNM/BTC and SNM/ETH trading pairs are now available on Binance! We would like to thank each one of you for achieving this milestone with us!

Binance couldn't ignore this insanely good project, and the other exchanges won't either, before this year is over Sonm will be listed on Bittrex and Poloniex as well, no doubt!
1757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WaltonChain WTC on: September 30, 2017, 06:36:50 PM
I'm worried that this last week was a slow and steady PnD caused by whales that had accumulated from the volatile month the coin has had

Interesting to see if Farad token will 10x out of the gate like WTC.  A real world product already with production and market.  FRD has no hype or marketing outside of its industry like WTC.

how is farad related to wtc?

Lol. No relation. He trying to pump that shitcoin.

I thought so, nothing wrong with talking about a coin you like, as long as it has something to do with the thread (which isnt the case lol)
1758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it too late to buy NEO? on: September 30, 2017, 06:35:33 PM
You shouldn't rely on 1 perfect moment to buy. Personally I invest a certain amount of new money each week so I can profit from regular dips more, and I can adapt to the patterns I see unfolding
1759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SONM will explode on: September 30, 2017, 06:28:11 PM
Sonm is better in technical terms, but golem has better marketing and a stronger community. I think Sonm will win the battle eventually as it gets listed on bigger exchanges. Binance is the first big exchange and more will follow. Best to invest while it is still under ico price

Golem is older, and therefore listed on more exchanges, that's the only advantage right now because sonm is way more active.
1760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Antshares/ NEO [NEO] on: September 30, 2017, 06:25:40 PM
since the neo coins are pre mined & the quantities of both neo and gas are capped with the total known in advance, why was i surprised by a drastic reduction in my gas dividend? is there a set day for such a reduction?
if based on releasing more neo coins, is there a schedule of releases?
is it arbitrary?

Theres no clear way of determining how much gas you'll generate, I'm afraid, the neotogas website isn't accurate
