I believe bitcoin is in a decline, and will be in a decline for the near future.
It's the price of Bitcoin that's in decline. The features of Bitcoin that make it a great alternative currency are still there regardless of price. Also if your a speculator which some people are, then surely this is a great oppurtunity to go short ? Obviously yes, I was talking about the price. And yes I am a speculator, and no this is a bad time to short. There will likely be a small bounce and some stagnation before the next crash. since i'm so stupid and you're so smart, as well as a speculator, how about a bet? $1000 that i think the USD price of BTC will be higher one year from now than it is today, the money to be held in escrow?

Why does it bother you so much that people are making money, even while btc is in a decline?
it doesn't bother me at all. because they will soon give it all back and more.

don't be so damn practical.
all the Bears have an agenda; why else would they spend all their valuable time here bashing Bitcoin if they truly believed it was worthless?
apparently it is not valuable. its valuable if you're getting paid to diss.

When it was at 17USD I had zero intention to sell.. I wont even considering sell any until sometime in 2013 I reckon. This does not mean I wouldnt use them to trade for goods though I just dont see the point of switching out to other currencys. Certainly not at this time anyway. Yeah people who don't have a lot invested aren't gonna care much, they'll see it as a lottery ticket of sorts. People who have thousands of btc, or tens of thousands invested though? They definitely will sell once it gets low enough (like has been happening on the bounces). People who have money tend to know how to use it, and holding bitcoins at the moment is fucking dumb. There may be a rosy future for btc, but not in the next 6 months. now is the time to buy. it won't go much lower than this if at all. buy the dips.

i've only heard of one; Bitcoinica. never been there but i bet its popular right now.
i only hope they've made sure all their clientele have posted above average margin requirements when the Squeeze comes. Bitcoinica could be wiped out as well if they haven't done this.

I have. And its not pleasant. In fact, they are extremely vicious. Without appropriate risk management, they have the ability to wipe you out.
Imagine the Spring ramp repeating itself while you're holding short. The mentality has settled in with virtually all the Bears that Bitcoin is done and is going to zero. They are taking their victory laps and cheering their profits. This type of mentality is just as bad as the speculative bubble, only in reverse.
I have most unpleasant news for you. The Squeeze of the Century is coming. It may not be tomorrow, next month, or even next year, buts its coming and you will be crushed.
I know the feeling. You shorts are probably sleeping less well now while you're making profits than you did before. Thats because deep down you know the protocol has not failed, you know that 99% of the people want Bitcoin but just don't know it yet, you know the developers are still out there and working on improvements, and you know that big money is waiting on the sidelines for the perfect time to buy and buy hard.
Typically the ramps come in the middle of the night. You wake up and the price has doubled trapping you deeply in the losing trade. You wait and wait for the price to come back down but it never does as the price moves upwards incessantly to force you to cover. The pendulum has swung too far to the wrong side.
Just wait. Its coming...

i thought Bitcoin was bad b/c its a deflationary currency, rising in value with time, thus encouraging hoarding?
now Bitcoin is bad b/c its an inflationary currency, dropping in value with time, thus encouraging selling?

I'll be posting an interview with Coinabul's founder Jay Shore today on BitTalk.tv. If you're interested, watch the interview and see if it helps answer any questions.
Please don't turn all Bruce on us. Have no fear, I don't drink the cool-aid. if you haven't interviewed him yet, ask him about the address and why he chose it.

i've always thought you were a little bit of a kook but this one is good.
anyone who intentionally seeks out a such a shady entity is trying to hide something.
Morning, cypherdoc. I'm withholding a response to your comment, for I'm not sure if it's directed towards me or at the post immediately above it. Please clarify if you desire a comeback from me. Bruno its a compliment. the rib is for the MyBitcoin identity thread chase you put up during the summer.

i think its coming; very, very soon.
cypher, what do you mean with "its coming?". the further gold decline? If so, i agree 100%yup

It's probably less dubious than all that. It was probably on online incorporation service and that online site that files the paperwork provided their office space as an address or something.
(Just a theory)
do a simple Google search for online incorporating. see how many thousands come up before this type.
