I think rough estimate would be around two years from now . People are so naive right now that changing the way banking system right now is like a financial meltdown. around 85% of the world's population don't want to embrace the technological revolution that bitcoins is bringing. Part of it blames to dark sides when transacting bitcoins. There are so many what if's out there. Give 2 years timetable . Help educate government that blockchain technology has a real potential.

I don't see how releasing the mainnet client would mix with the exchange selling IOU tokens. The mainnet would not interface with yobit or anyone else selling IOU's. There is no real network connected to the yobit waves market it is just a fictional wallet they opened with X amount of tokens. Depositing and withdrawing from them wont work. There is no deposit or withdraw options for the people buying wave tokens on yobit.
THIS, people need to learn to read, Sasha SAID: Yobit will not be getting full node source code. I think this should not be the case . Yobit is an exchange with appropriate license . Eventhough making IOUs from ICOs is financially unethical, it is very hard to stop this practice. Better for future ICO to have a contract of sorts between exchanges before launching a project. |

Well devs are trying to avoid the IOUs being created by some exchanges . You see, waves officially will be traded on June 14 but if they release the wallet then some would be able to trade their waves via those IOUs exchanges eventually disrupting what can be a smooth pricing.
But they announced the mainnet for today, this makes no sense if they really want to wait for the June 14th. Well the mainnet as they announce will be as scheduled , but I think you are indicating about the wallet release. It is the dev prerogative when to release it. |

What's with all the rush to get main net wallet quickly online it's not like you will be able to trade it on exchanges, better wait and have a product that works 100% than something that is half done and will only hurt WAVES on the long term.

What is the wave address line for under our home page on the waves ico page under "USER"? It has a save option.
If and when the light weight wallet comes out , you will be able to download and install . After installation the wallet will generate a unique address for waves wallet . That address , my friend, is for you to supply to your ico page. |

I've seen quite a few members advising to install fresh google chrome before using Waves platform.
So I was thinking would be good if developers address security subject-strangely nobody seems talked about it yet.
Being a non tech.person would like to know how big the difference if any running or connecting to a block chain through internet browser plug in.
Difference in term of security would be I am concerned most.
Waves lite client works locally through browser. It is not a plugin. You will be downloading it and running on your puter/device. Security During registration, the most important information is the wallet SEED. Save it somewhere safe, write it down on a piece of paper, or store it in different media. With the SEED you can always import your account again or change the password. This SEED will be AES-encrypted with a password of your choice and you can unlock it to access your account at the log-in screen. Every transaction will be signed locally with JavaScript and transmitted to the node without revealing your wallet seed or private keys. Thank you for an important piece of information regarding the wallet. |
