1761  Other / Archival / Re: [POLL]What do you expect from Bitcoin in 2023? on: January 13, 2023, 10:25:12 AM
It will be very interesting to look back in a year or two to see how the markets deal with
one major thing which "Bitcoin" hasn't had to deal with - Global economy and the resulting
recession, this is new territory. Also another major war on top of what is happening in Ukraine
will be a big test to the markets but overall I'm positive with my choice.
Regardless of the cycle and what we predict of the price, lets not forget that bitcoin is being put to the test these days to see how strong it is in a recession+inflation economy. Specially if something catastrophic like 2008 is repeated, we could see how strong a hedge bitcoin is for those who are fleeing the failing economy.

This year will definitely be very interesting economy-wise and with the new world order in place.

We have passed it, if we consider covid-19 run and it's subsequent effect to the world economy resulting to what we now see, inflation + recession, and then the geo political event in the background, the war in Europe.

So I think if we have passed the pandemic, then there's nothing stopping us from bouncing this year, although we are still in the middle of the bear market, at least the market is going to recover before the block halving in 2024 and maybe by that time every economy around the world is doing good already.
It can be said that 2022 is the first test for bitcoin as we have to deal with the highest inflation in 40 years and the tense war between Russia and Ukraine. I feel bitcoin has really succeeded in proving it is a potential asset worth holding and investing like gold. If you compare bitcoin's drop with other assets like tech stocks, bitcoin is doing quite well, as its drop is said to be on par with some stocks. People always say that bitcoin is a volatile asset, but this year tech stocks were hit just as hard as bitcoin.
1762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 12, 2023, 05:58:40 PM
Today is not a difficult game in theory for Barcelona despite the opponent being in fourth place in La Liga,this Supercup game I think it will be won by Barcelona and most likely we will see both teams to score during this game.I know that in the past Barcelona had difficulties winning against teams managed by Manuel Pellegrini but I think this time Barcelona is in super form and I think Real Betis simply lack the force to oppose Barcelona in this form they are.I think the best bet here is both teams to score as usually in finals both teams score and the odd at 1.79 is really great for this to happen.
Barcelona are now stronger than Betis, Betis' advantage will only be that they play at home, but I looked at the results of Barcelona away and I see that it does not matter where they play, their results are equally good both at home and away. Everything goes to the fact that we will see Barcelona in the final against Real Madrid. And I'm not sure if Betis can score today, Barcelona's defense is playing very well, so today it could be something like 0-1 or 0-2.
@Cryptmuster I just saw the Barcelona squad and it looks like they have called their best player’s for this match, and it’s pertinent to note that Lewandowski is eligible to play in this fixture hence I expect him to score at least one goal.
Lastly with Barcelona playing with such a strong squad I just can’t see them lost this fixture, and personally I always wish to see more Real Madrid vs Barcelona game’s as they’re full of entertainment so let’s hope that we get to see another El Clásico soon.

As of right now, I think this is going to be a fairly easy game for Barcelona with the form they are currently on. In my opinion, Real Betis will not be able to give them a hard time at all. It seems to me that coach Xavi will be able to rotate some players and test the waters to see how they would do in the environment.

In order for him to be able to do what he needs to do, he can give Robert Lewandowski a rest and then see who does better in his place. The reason for this is that Lewandowski has been playing continuous football since he joined Barcelona. There is a reasonable chance that Barcelona will be poised to win this game by at least three goals.
1763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 12, 2023, 05:45:40 PM
This is actually happening 3 or 4 leagues are going at a time BBL , LPL, BPL and SA league plus ODIS and regular series of different countries soo all players are playing somewhere and this is obvious players will opt to those leagues whose packages are good and they are paid good.
That's the main reason behind less international players in Bangladesh Premier League as they can't have big pay packages for players.
Well.. we need to look at the positives. As far as I can see, all of the senior Bangladeshi players are taking part in the BPL. No one has opted for the other leagues, such as the SA20, BBL and ILT20. BPL is being broadcasted around the world, including the main market of India (Fancode is livestreaming the matches). According to various sources, BPL has provided profits of $23 million since 2012. This is not a small amount and given the scope for future growth, there is a good chance that BCB can shrug off its dependence on the ICC, if they are able to further develop this league.

The honest thing is I know that the Bangladesh Premier League has generated a good amount of money so far. But I do not think a League is up to the standards when they cannot even provide an actual DRS system. They are just looking at the replay as DRS. That is bullshit.

Someone previously stated that the Bangladesh Premier League has made a good amount of money so far in almost all editions. The thing is we have not seen too many players or at least too many Bangladeshi players come forward through the Bangladesh Premier League. So my question is where does the money go? Bangladesh cricket board also has almost 900 crores BDT. And you are telling me that they cannot afford a good DRS system?
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 12, 2023, 04:19:41 PM
Real Madrid have begun their search for a new star striker. Karim Benzema’s contract is expiring at the end of the season, and it seems he’s contemplating his future away from the club. I think Kane has been one of the best strikers in world football for some years now, and Real Madrid is a big club that fits his caliber of players.
I think Benzema is going to sign a contract extension with Real Madrid, he has always been a brilliant player for them, but the last 18 months or so has prolly been his best in a Madrid jersey, which has culminated in him winning the Ballon d'or award for the first time in his career. The French international has aged like fine wine, thus i don't see any reason why the Bernabeu club wouldn't extend his contract.
Having said that, even if they extend his contract, i am pretty sure they would still want to sign a striker that they would slowly integrate into the team, because in a few years Benzema might eventually leave, but such a striker would prolly have to be young, someone for the future, Kane is already 29, and it is a headache trying to bargain with Spurs for him, chances are high that you'd be left frustrated, thus i think Real Madrid are going to look elsewhere, i think they would rather be interested in the Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen who currently plays for Napoli.

Next season Real Madrid are going to have a really hectic season and it is going to be hard for Karim Benzema to play on a regular basis. On top of that the substitutes Real Madrid have for Benzema are Hazard, Rodrigo, and Asensio who are not that good in that position.

As a result, Real Madrid are now looking for a better striker and Harry Kane seems like the best option for them. Although he has turned 30 years old, if Real Madrid is able to sign him, I am pretty sure he will be able to serve them for at least three seasons.
1765  Economy / Speculation / Re: January bitcoin price out look on: January 12, 2023, 05:35:28 AM
I guess the price of Bitcoin will reach $25k before the end of January because, the price has moved to $17k few days ago which are the signs people what to see to be strong in holding this new year. Since, the price of Bitcoin has moved from $16k to $17k show, that before the end of this January many people will start experiencing opportunity from their investment because the bear is about to leave the market for the bull to remain stable.

The $25k target at the end of January is probably too high for me, but I still expect that Bitcoin will hit $25k before it falls back in this bull run. Bitcoin could go higher this January, I think it will depend entirely on the CPI announced today. The market is reacting positively when all predictions are that CPI will drop below 6.1%. But what I fear will cause the market to stagnate is the controversy surrounding DGC and Genesis is very tense.
1766  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottom of the Bear Market...let's accumulate!! on: January 12, 2023, 02:55:14 AM
~~~
For those of you still trying to build out a Bitcoin stash you can be happy with, including those of you trying to get up to being a whole-coiner, this will likely be the last year you can make significant progress on that as it'll start getting real hard to accumulate tenths of a bitcoin when the price is mid five figures, high five figures, and in the six figures.
Who is accumulating and how much are you hoping to add to your stash this year?
We can invest in bitcoin whenever we want, bitcoin will always make a profit. But I agree with OP one thing, if someone misses 2022, then maybe this is the last year we see bitcoin under $20k. If we miss this opportunity and when another bull season arrives, buying bitcoin will become even more difficult. Remember the lesson when bitcoin was at 3k in 2018, and if someone didn't buy it, there was no chance.
Of course, we can still invest later, but if you want to make a lot of profit, let's accumulate now, procrastination will not help us become rich.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 12, 2023, 02:48:29 AM
India VS Srilanka
The second ODI between these two teams will be played today. The match will be played on Eden Gardens. The last time these two teams played on Eden Gardens, Rohit Sharma score 200+ runs. I am hoping a simpler kind of performance by this time too. I am expecting both Ishan Kishan and SKY to be part of the playing 11. The problem with Srilanka is lack of experience bowlers. I do not think Dilshan Madushanka will be part of the Srilankan playing 11 as he had dislocated his shoulder in the previous ODI. Their batters are in good form and I expecting a good & exciting game of cricket today.
In the first match, India played really well and Sri Lanka did not have too many chances to win. I think something like that is going to happen in this match as well. India is obviously in better form right now. And India is also better in terms of the quality of the team in my opinion.
I am not giving Sri Lanka too many chances to win this match. But I do hope that Sri Lanka will be able to perform better compared to what they did in the first match. At least I do not want it to be one sided. But I think Sri Lanka should be ready for another batting track.
1768  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia To Legalize Use Of Cryptocurrency In International Trade on: January 12, 2023, 02:35:52 AM
They are looking for the back door for sure. Now the situation is even worst than before so it’s undeniably sure that they would want to have the bitcoin on board and see which countries are open to trade with them. Considering various sanctions they have lost the battle of trades in international market and must be struggling with the financial burden. It’s clear because they are not really receiving funds but loosing it all in one war. Now no country would ever expose their financials on paper, so as to Russia. It must be making them hardened over various situations now which might have made them to come to this conclusion.
At first, when the war broke out and it was reported that Russia was accepting bitcoins and cryptocurrencies for payments to Russia-friendly countries. But so far, the war has lasted more than 300 days, and everything is still not ready, showing that it is not the key or really important factor for them. I mean, they're still conducting normal international trade with their partners, there's no sign that they're struggling with sanctions. But they chose bitcoin, probably as you mentioned, still need a plan b, a back door for sure.
Sanctions mainly concern 2 key areas:
1. reduce the flow of currency from the sale of oil and gas, to stop "sponsoring" Russian terrorism
2. leave the economy and the military-industrial complex without high-tech components and technologies, because Russia is a technologically backward country, and cannot independently produce all the necessary components even for its military-industrial complex and industry
On the first point, there is progress, the demand for Russian hydrocarbons has fallen, for example, Germany, on 01/01/2023, completely abandoned oil, gas and coal from the country of the terrorist, and almost the entire EU. complete failure - during 2023. now, because of the sanctions and the embargo, Russia is suffering huge budget losses: The price ceiling for Russian oil is costing the Kremlin minus $172 million a day from planned revenues. Lost profits will rise to $280 million a day when the restriction is extended to petroleum products from February 5.
on the second point - there is also an effect. Russia is not able to provide its army with effective means for waging a terrorist war, and as you know, it begs rogue countries like Iran, North Korea for drones, shells and other weapons, the stocks of which are running out and production cannot produce them in sufficient quantities.
And note - it's only been 6 months since the sanctions began to take effect Smiley
Is Russia technologically backward? Russia is a leading country militarily, they are always considered by the US as the most feared opponent.
If you look at the news of arms sales on the international market, the US will be ready to embargo or punish any country that buys Russian weapons that are not theirs, which is a cowardly, weak act of the country is considered to be the world's leading. If Russia were technologically backward, it would not have caused the US and 28 European countries to supply weapons to Ukraine in the past 11 months and still could not end the war.
As for the energy story, let's wait and see if the war doesn't end soon before winter 2023, and see who will lose in the EU-Russia war. It is too early to say who has failed.
1769  Economy / Speculation / Re: Starting to Think The Bottom May Be Close? on: January 11, 2023, 09:27:09 AM
It is very likely that the Fed will stop raising rates, but that does not mean they will cut rates, I think they will keep rates unchanged until the end of 2023 and maybe 2024. National economies are starting to absorb interest rates more than we thought the crisis was over. I think that's why many economists predict we'll enter a recession in 2023, not a post-crisis recovery and growth period.
Whether the economy will get worse or better, don't hesitate to accumulate bitcoin, as this is already a very good price to collect, we are already very close to the bottom if bitcoin falls further this year.
1770  Economy / Economics / Re: Your way of living the wage what you need to live normal life on: January 11, 2023, 08:57:36 AM
If the government wants to get involved then they have to increase the wages and the needs of the workers for a decent standard of living, but each job has a different salary and they have a life according to their income, even though there are regulations determining the minimum wage but it will not be enough to rent a place because their salary is not enough for that and does not include other main needs that must be prioritized. But some countries for a minimum wage of $250 per month is enough for a year's rent, decent housing and not far from urban areas.
Even if the government pushes for higher salaries for everybody, there are companies that can't follow it because they've got a standard profit and they're not as big as the corporations. So, the ones that will be hurt by this law are those small enterprises. It's either they'll remove their staff and work their assess there as the owners or the employee will just have to accept that no increase will happen upon explanation by the owner. But I know that despite that, there are too many small scale business owners that are also generous.
In addition to the reasons you give, the simultaneous increase of wages for workers during inflation will not completely solve the inflation problem. The cause of inflation is that the government has pumped too much money to save us during the pandemic, so the thing to do now is to control the currency and revoke them in many ways, not increase wages according to inflation. If they do, the national currency will depreciate more, and inflation will be harder to control.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 11, 2023, 02:05:58 AM
From the onset of the season I never doubted Barcelona will do better as the season progresses knowing full well how a great team they are not only in laliga but Europe, however I concur with X-ray that 3 points are nothing of a strong gap for an opponent like Madrid, and if they have to stay top the table then they need to keep winning upcoming games as their greatest opponent (Madrid) in second position on the table is very much determined to see themselves back on top of the league table.
Another rhetoric here is, can Barca be able to keep up the lead till the next El classico? I don't know for sure!
The breakthrough made by Barcelona in the transfer market at the start of the season indicates that they really want to give competition to Real Madrid in the La Liga title race. Barcelona has grown into a team that is able to restore confidence after going through a bad period since Messi left. The arrival of several top names in the Barcelona squad has made many changes to his appearance, Xavi has managed to make the Barcelona squad better since he replaced Ronald Koeman as Barcelona coach.
Having a three point lead over Real Madrid has not made Barcelona position safe, anything can still happen because the season is still long. Xavi must be able to maintain Barcelona performance to maintain the advantage of Real Madrid, Ancelotti will not give up before the season ends, he will continue to lead Real Madrid to shift Barcelona from the top of the standings. Only a win will keep Barcelona at the top of the table, Xavi must do so to claim his first title as coach.
Obviously, having only a three-point lead over, Real Madrid is not going to be good enough for Barcelona. But I think we have to give Barcelona enough credit for being able to hold onto the first position on the table.
Actually, we have to give Barcelona credit for being in first place even though they have a lot of problems going on. Real Madrid can obviously overtake Barcelona. There is still a lot of chance for Real Madrid to do that. But I just think Barcelona should be appreciated for how they have performed till now. But Barcelona will have to remember that the main target of Barcelona is to win the La Liga title right now. There will be a lot of people pointing fingers at them if they fail to do that.
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 11, 2023, 01:27:56 AM
I never had a good impression about the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), but the way in which they are organizing the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is quite impressive. This is not one of the top franchise T20 leagues in the world, and yet they have managed to attract a lot of star players from overseas. Yesterday's match between Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers was a perfect example. Both Usman Khan and Azam Khan managed to hit centuries. Usman hasn't yet made his debut for Pakistan and the performance will obviously help him in doing so.
BTW, the SA20 league will start today in South Africa. The first match is between MI Cape Town (owned by Mumbai Indians) and Paarl Royals (owned by Rajasthan Royals). Only the brand name is there, and hardly any MI players are there in the Cape Town squad (there are a few such as Jofra Archer, Duan Jansen and Dewald Brevis). I am not sure whether the MI fans in India will support this franchise (same for RR fans regarding Paarl).
Agree, because BCB is completely failed to attract investors as they have not good marketing tactics about this all even right now Bangladesh is also having good in growth, and they are doing good development in all fields with this all they also need to attract investors for sports activities with Government of Bangladesh is also needed to have some better things which will help them for having good facilities and improvement in quality as well because now this is also the biggest industry around the world and Bangladesh is surely having nearly 200 Million population which can help them for having better viewership and other things.
In BPL, we can say third graded players are coming with now SA20 is also starting which clearly attracted better players and this is just because of all money which is invested in this league in early years BPL was doing better things, but recently they are fail to attract big players and better things in this event.
I do not understand how the Bangladesh cricket board is doing a good job with the Bangladesh Premier League. Remember, they actually do not have a proper review system for this tournament. Yes, I know that this tournament is quite entertaining right now. But I cannot say that was done by the Bangladesh cricket board authority.
And the reason why I do not like the BPL, especially this addition is because the Bangladesh cricket board did not put too much effort into this tournament. However, they are certainly expecting a lot of revenue in return. That is obviously not something they’re going to get. Another thing is, I do not think any Bangladeshi player is actually going to get recognized through this tournament.
1774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 11, 2023, 01:15:07 AM
Durant misses at least two weeks, that would be a huge loss to BKN. They rather choose losing to Miami than losing Durant. Just when he broke another record and went up one more place in all time top scorers list, he could've gone one more place next game. I hope he'll return healthy soon.
Kyrie is playing great lately so I don't expect many losses from Brooklyn in this period. Sure Kyrie will use the ball more and Simmons should take more responsibility. T.J. Warren and Watanabe will get more playing time. Coach Vaughn will find a way to win games, Nets have a good squad. I don't think they'll go down just like Suns.
If only they could make that choice, they will indeed choose to get defeated rather than losing one of their efficient player that will make their situation much harder in the next few games without him. But, nobody anticipated that to happen and nobody wanted that to happen, it's just that Durant had to be in that wrong place at the wrong time.
But yes, they can still win some games even without him although it will be much harder now. Kyrie and Simmons will still do everything they can and will step up while Durant is still recovering from the suspected MCL injury. Just a couple of weeks won't hurt and they can still come back much stronger.
I think not having KD it’s obviously going to be a problem for the team. But they will have to work with what they have. No one expected this to happen. And we can also say that this was a very unlucky situation for both the team and the player.
But I think we can say that, even though this is a very unexpected situation, they have to find a solution. I absolutely agree that this is going to be very hard for them to win matches from now on. But the rest of the team will have to perform better and try to bring as better results as they can.
1775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Bitcoin Halving - What are Your Expectations!!! on: January 10, 2023, 10:27:59 AM
my hope is that it will exceed the previous years in 2017/2021, and even in the coming 2024 bitcoin will be even more valuable throughout the world..
I believe that if history repeats itself, bitcoin will bounce back after the halving, and then we will have a new all-time high almost guaranteed. As everyone else, I too am expecting bitcoin to reach $100k for the next halving, and I also expect that bitcoin adoption will become more common at a national level. As soon as that country accepts bitcoin, then obviously all the people and businesses in that country will accept and use bitcoin as well.
1776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sell motorbikes to buy bitcoins on: January 10, 2023, 10:17:43 AM
I don't think bad ideas when selling motorbikes and use it for investing in Bitcoin, maybe OP earn few profit if sure have sold his motorbike when this topic made and Bitcoin right now has increase little higher price. Last three days Bitcoin still drop around $16,000 and current Bitcoin price have reached above $17,000 and earn almost few percent profit.
I don't know how decision from OP become long term holding with bitcoin, after investing forget it and back three or four years later and looking how increasing up. Possibility become short term trading, up few percent OP earn profit and sell it before buy back later when Bitcoin going dump, I think between decision with short or long term trading are worth adopt by OP after he has fund by selling motorbike.
In spite of the fact that both short term and long term trading can make profit, he is new and so the advice of becoming a trader might not be appropriate for him. Firstly, he should become a long-term investor and then learn and hone his knowledge before he thinks about becoming a trader. For someone who has not had any experience with the market entering a trade, I can be sure that he will only lose without profit. Beginners in the trade are no different from gambling.
1777  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammers use too much brain on: January 10, 2023, 10:06:26 AM
It is not that scammers are smart, it is that people are too dumb and fall for this scammers trick.  I bet the scammer has several people confirming the first transactions paying.  Then those naive investors believe the testaments of these so-called early participants, the hacker probably pays some strangers participating in the system making  readers and viewers believe that he is really paying, then when the scammer thinks he got enough, he will then run with the money.
It is the greediness of people that makes them lose more on this kind of scam.
The harsh truth, but it's the truth, these scams are too obvious, and it can be said that all mistakes come from lazy greedy people who don't want to do but want to have money. I never blame the creators of scams, I will blame all the greedy people who just want free money. As you said, if we are not greedy and make money with our own strength, these scams will soon disappear. As long as human greed persists, these scams will never go away.
1778  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: January 08, 2023, 04:12:56 AM
Nobody wants to work for someone else, everyone wants to be the boss. But my question is, how many people will be successful as business owners? It's not as simple as when you are an employee. So having a dream is one thing and being able to fulfill it is another.
Whether you are a business owner or an employee, as long as you do your job well, have a stable income, and don't have to worry too much about money, you are successful. Being a boss does not mean success, being an employee does not mean failure.
1779  Economy / Economics / Re: Will central banks ultimately fail in their goal of lowering down inflation? on: January 08, 2023, 04:00:31 AM
You also have the governments and companies not working together to increase wages as the price of goods and services increases. It will lead to a lot of ruin in the economy short-term and if there isn't anything that the governments and huge companies do to fix the situation, it will eventually lead to even worse inflation that is no longer signifying growth of the economy.
Raising wages when commodity prices rise is another mistake, and if governments and companies do so, it will cause inflation to accelerate and bring the national economy to a standstill. This is not the first time the world economy has fallen into inflation, inflation is also a cycle of the economy, and in the past, the government has also handled it well. I believe inflation will decrease but we need time, we cannot demand an end overnight. And for inflation to come down, the government has to make some sacrifices, and people like us are always their scapegoats. So when inflation hits, don't expect the government to save us but save yourself by doing more, investing in deflationary assets like bitcoin.
1780  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: January 08, 2023, 03:47:31 AM
Yesterday, I realize that I fear my wife would be mad at me if I took too much risk, but also I would be pretty upset if we lived a poor life because of my mistake as well. If I trusted myself, even if my wife was mad at me for doing it, I would simply just buy whatever or trade or whatever I should do and then I would tell my wife to be calm.
Because no matter how mad she could be, if I make a huge profit and achieve our financial freedom together, then she would forgive me and be super supportive and happy. The problem is within me, I am afraid that if I make a decision and then lose all our money then I would be sad to see her live a worse life than she deserves because of my mistake.
After all, our biggest obstacle is ourselves because we have so much to fear and worry about that we can't make a perfect decision. Financial freedom is something we all aspire to, but there are many things that prevent us from achieving it, because in life so many other things that we need to prioritize. But in my opinion, there are many other ways to financial freedom, it's just that we haven't found a better way yet, let's keep working hard, and I believe that with hard work, one day success will also come to us.
