1761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 12, 2023, 09:28:29 PM
Stopping from gambling is a personal decision that should be backed by core discipline because the addiction of gambling is not something you can deal with under one day. You need to have a reason(s) why you shouldn't gamble anymore and allow those reasons be your driving force in eliminating the urge to continually gamble.

If you got into gambling out of the idea of killing boredom for example. Then in same vein you find something else fascinating to replace that time you spend on gambling under the idea of killing boredom. Tie your decision of ending gambling on your reasons why you needed to stop it. With doing so it could help you to stop gambling. Purpose in life is everything.
1762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still a digital currency on: June 12, 2023, 04:57:03 PM

Actually Bitcoin stored in centralized exchange and banks are same, you're don't have full control over your money.
There's no big difference between a centralized exchange and banks actually, only that with your money in centralized exchange you are able to use it to trade at any point in time, you can choose to use it all and you don't need to go through so much paperwork before been allowed to do so unlike with the traditional banks. We can ascribe centralized exchange to be the banks of the 21stC cause just like the traditional banks they also do work with KYC only that they're are mostly crypto focused.  Even though they help facilitate the easy use of bitcoin for various purposes it still doesn't sound wise to keep your asset lying in CEX as it's not just safe.

1763  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there anyone else who shares the same sentiments? on: June 12, 2023, 04:14:53 PM
I don't know how anyone could come up with a controversial sentiment about the issue between bitcoin and binance and how that got to relate with or ought to affect bitcoin. Except they don't know any better, cause in this very case one doesn't need to be of the technical-know-how to understand that binance and bitcoin has not connectivity as binance is just like every other exchange we can think of. Traders should be worried about BNB not BTC.

As for binance am optimistic they're gonna pull through all of these issues with the SEC as we all can perceive it's just an attack based on sentiment only that it's just not in my place to utter the obvious at least not yet.

1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 12, 2023, 01:17:06 PM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?
I haven't had such luck to win such amount of money that could be referred to as life changing amount for me yet, but if I am luck enough to win such money then quiting gambling and replacing it with a business is the goal.
Quote

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.
You shouldn't be surprised seeing such people still going back to continuous gambling despite winning such life changing amount. But then I asked, what was the main aim of them gambling? Cause I thought we all gamble to by luck be able to win an amount of money that could change our lives and never for we to have to go back to the gambling again. But I recently realized it's not same for some people.

Sometime in 2019 I had a gambling mate that won an amount of money at around 7.4million in our local currency  but ended up lavishing and squandering the money that could have been a live changing money for him being in his late 20s. A apart of that squandering was exhausted in gambling with the hope that he was going to hit a high win of which he started increasing in wager 3x than normal. Today he's looking like someone that has never gotten a thousand to his name before.

From his actions I gain a little experience and I also observed that what causes people to still head on to gambling after winning a life changing amount of cash is because that never had a business or project plan on ground of what and how they would use any life changing amount of money they may be lucky to win in their gambling endeavors. Hence, their spending does lack direction and purpose.

Quote
Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
I have managed to win good amount of money but not what I could refer to as high amount. And in every amount of money I win from gambling I always use a good proportion of the total amount to get myself a good property or invest it into my business, while I use the rest to try again...

If they want airdrop from Optimism, they must follow up Optimism's official website and channels.

That website isn't from Optimism project and fortunately the browser shows a warning when anyone visiting that site. I am sure that warning only appears after some people reported that scam, phishing site. So if you are the first one falls to that scam site, you might be scammed by them.
These scammers are so trickish that even experienced people in cryptocurrency that ain't careful enough may easily fall for it not to talk of newbies. These scammer could actually make an unnoticeable change to a site like putting a dot or a comma or anything of sort that at a click in your ignorance it redirect you to their phishing site intercepting your data unknown to you. People should be absolutely meticulous while scouting for these airdrops making sure to differentiate between a genuine site and an infiltrated one.

1768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 09:53:01 PM
As a fan of Inter let me say that I don't know any more worse attacker than Lukaku, holy f*ck how can you lose two sure goals with just 2 meters of distance. Not his fault though,it was a dream night for Ederson the goalkeeper of Manchester City which made some fabulous saves and it did not wanted to go Inter way, even Dimarco hit Lukaku which was again the person to remove the equalizer from Inter hands.

On another note congrats to Manchester City, they finally made the triple and won the Champions League for the first time,it was very well deserved for them.

Sorry for the loss but I was actually impressed with Inter Milan's performance and as for Lukaku I feel he was under pressure and the game was looking more fun even Milan's defense was tight making it very difficult for manchester city to score and one thing I notice with manchester city is that once they score one and they noticed that their opponents are also good they start protecting and playing a very defensive game even Foden lost good opportunity to score if inter milan can play like this I think they still have a better chance next season to win the champions league and once again congrats to the city on their victory.
Inter Milan performance tonight was astonishing and as one that supported Manchester City tonight I can boldly day for Milan they fought a good fight, for it wasn't their lucky day at all, with all the close attempts at the mouth of the goalpost nothing of a goal come in for Milan. Lukaku was indeed under no pressure tonight and as always he just can't deliver when mostly needed as an attacker.
Congratulations to the citizyns!
1769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 08:09:01 PM
.

I did think Manchester City would have managed to score a goal but Inter isn’t having any of it. Good game for both sides. 0:0 for now.
I hope De Bruyne doesn’t have to leave the field cause of an injury.
The game is a very tough one for both sides and it's unfortunate for Manchester City that they are losing a key player like K. Debryne to injury in just first 45mins of the game. It's already end of the first half and I think city needs to be careful of the tackling marking tactics of inter Milan not to get frustrated by there agressive marking and loss the game through a counter.
1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 02:58:57 PM
But Inter Milan with their low profile team as been doing well too, in their league and in the champions league, when it comes to champions league game, every team has a Chance, people are just undermining Inter Milan in this game, i still believe Inter Milan will clinch the cup.
Manchester city and Pep Gaudiola will be disappointed tonight, if you're staking your bet give it a goal , goal to be save.
Agree with you, every team that can enter the UCL final has the same 50:50 chance. In my opinion, the final will depend on who can score first. If Inter Milan were able to score first, they would most likely defend completely and aim for a counter attack to increase the score.

If that happens, it is very likely that Inter Milan will win with a score of 1-0 or 2-1. But if Man City scores first, it will be hard for Inter Milan to turn things around, Man City will play even more ferociously and maybe the score will be 3-0 or 3-1 in favor of City.
The first sign that Manchester City would end up winning the game is if that take the lead in the first half of the game, as City have been unlucky in most crucial games as this where they had to conceive the first goal and never able to get a come-back in the game.

Inter Milan is a strong counter attacking side and leading in the game may give them a leverage in the game over City. But be it as it may, my support goes to the citizyns tonight and I hope Gardiola surprises the world as he has done with other clubs like Barca and Madrid.
1771  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone still stores their crypto in any exchange on: June 10, 2023, 01:14:02 PM
No doubt exchanges are quite risky to leave our coins dormant in there but these exchanges are playing an ultimate role that shouldn't be underestimated because of a risk that could be avoided by the users. We are all aware of the various features embedded in these platforms and their functional usages that makes each uniquely important. With a non-custodial wallet it's obvious you can't trade but it's less risky and put you totally in control of your asset through your seed phrase, while in exchanges you're not totally in charge of your wallet as your seed phrase are under the exchanges care but you can make trades  be it spot or features trading with it.

It's beckon on the user/trader to understand and know  how to make good use of these different platforms to keep his assets safe and secure while you make profit at same time.
1772  Economy / Economics / Re: To Hodl or Lend: What is your take? on: June 09, 2023, 09:18:52 PM
In my view point bitcoin trading and bitcoin lending is of no much difference as both points to profit making and risk inclusive altogether. While you trade there's a possibility of you losing your coins same with lending, the borrower could abscond with your coin closing down all channels of trace leading to your loss as a lender.  Wether be it lending or trading there is risk and so it all depends on your choice of risk  you would want to take in making profits. Hitherto to this post, I don't ever intend on becoming a bitcoin lender any day.
1773  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merits again] Discuss the velocity of Bitcoin on: June 09, 2023, 05:28:16 PM
I believe that in the case of Bitcoin, the velocity should be calculated using the quantity of coins that are apparently available and released for use. I believe this because Bitcoin means a variety of things to different people and organisation, and its capabilities are fairly complex.
my first thought is to go  to say that for a sustained velocity it needs a constantly new number of (new users/Interactions)..
A constant entrant of new users to bitcoin isn't just enough to create a good level of velocity of the coin. With the current number of users of bitcoin all over the globe yet the velocity doesn't correspond with the users and that's because so many are using it as a store of value while a very few are the ones using it as a means of exchange for goods and services. Unlike dollar where almost all users mainly using the currency as means of exchange for goods and services all over the world.

Another important thing that can sustain a good velocity of bitcoin is the lifting of restrictions imposed on bitcoin by some countries around the world as this restrictions has made the users in these countries focus on just seeing the digital currency as a store of value whereas the BTC has so many usages that many users haven't experienced it with.
1774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Opportunity to buy on: June 09, 2023, 03:14:09 PM
This is a great deal of opportunity when the price of bitcoin keeps going down, I want you to seized the opportunity to buy and hip. We have no ideas what is currently happening to the market but all hope are not lost, bitcoin will take us for a surprise and I don't want to miss the chance or feel regrets not obtaining any amount of bitcoin.
Years back when I first had the opportunity to invest in bitcoin I rejected the idea with an incredulity of mind. In that the person that introduced it to me never gave me well informed and convincible information about it. And even as years drive by I never did thought of giving it a chance not until after the last ATH when I heard someone boasting about the profit he made just for HODLing. Though I felt some regrets initially for not giving it a try when I first got to know about it. To cut it short, am today one of the enthusiasts of the digital asset and it's being an incredible financial journey for me.

To buy and hip means to DCA and that's a strategic idea tht can be profitable for those who have enough money to always take advantage of every little dip that takes place.

Quote
Even as bad as the price is, some people are still making cool money out of it, that's mean we never loss investment when you really understands the value of bitcoin.
The very best way to easily see opportunity in bitcoin price at any market pricing is to first have a good knowledge about BTC and how it works. With that it's easy to see every condition about it as an opportunity to make profit from either investing more or trading (long, short or scalping) as the case may be.
1775  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling is a choice. on: June 08, 2023, 04:32:26 PM
Yes, maybe other people's opinions are different from ours. There are those who gamble can change our family's economy, there are those who gamble because of hobbies or pleasure.  as long as by gambling you don't feel at a loss and are comfortable it doesn't matter right.
After all, we will lose if we keep playing gambling because no one knows when we can win. We can only keep playing until we win, but the consequence is that we can lose a lot of money. If we are ready to do it, we can try it, but most of us will not be ready when we lose more than we imagine, so that makes some of us experience depression and frustration.

From the past until now, many people have wanted to get big wins from gambling but can't see the risks behind playing gambling. And when they lose a lot of money, they realize they have lost a lot.
In gambling, losing money is a risk that is certain to occur and this is absolute, while winning is just luck where we cannot determine and we hope to win.
One must be able to accept defeat if they decide to gamble and must be prepared if they lose money, either in large or small amounts.
If a gambler cannot accept the risk of losing and also only hopes for victory then he will get an appropriate lesson, namely a feeling of disappointment that is so deep because they fail to control themselves.
The attachment to gambling by a gambler is something so strong while they are on it that nothing you have got to say at that moment would be making any sense to the gambler, the only thing that can revive his senses is a loss, a big loss with no money to continue wagering.  Losing in gambling is part of the game in as much as we are all focus on winning, and anyone that doesn't want to lose is just not serious and ready yet to gamble. It's preferable they don't get involved.
1776  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Biggest challenges of bitcoin... on: June 08, 2023, 11:14:33 AM

So if you're asking yourself can I invest? Is bitcoin worth investing in? Is it smart choice to invest? Then you need to understand the challenges involved, the pros and cons, what makes it difficult to invest or not.

https://www.google.com/url?q=https://mint.intuit.com/blog/investments/pros-and-cons-of-bitcoin/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwiZqMKO7fn-AhULUcAKHXi7CvYQFnoECAQQFA&usg=AOvVaw0WbZ-GFopDbGQkRs7kS0nf
It's due to these associated challenges and difficulties about bitcoin that's why newcomers are enjoined to get to have good understanding of how bitcoin works the pros and cons of it. Particular the volatility and the irreversibility of the coin are key issues most entrants into the industry ain't giving the awareness about by those that introduce them to it. All you mostly hear is invest, invest and hodl. A proper way to start with should be about the scalabilities and challenges involved first.
1777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: June 08, 2023, 10:15:38 AM
Am done with lotteries, no matter how many times I had tried it's only seem like a bad luck for me. Lottery is believed to be cheaper to get involved in or participate compared to casino gambling but the luck to win in lottery compared to casino gambling is very slim if not near impossible looking at the number of persons that participates in a single lottery. But for casino gambling you could be sure of winning at least a single wager out of ten times bets, only that casino gambling takes much money out of the pocket than lottery does.

The government is an authority within it's jurisdiction and owns all means of legitimate coercion and it is needful that anyone who finds himself within such society where the government has discountenance towards crypto tread with utmost careful as he embarks on his cryptocurrency business. Making a public show only endangers you and your business.

I come from a country where the government throw the banks frown at any crypto related business and transacts and to keep myself safe from anyone raising an eyebrow on me digging for informations I discreetly act like a pure novice to any crypto activities publicly done cause you just can't tell who's watching. Let's be guided please.

Is there a dedicated thread for beginners to learn how to use this forum and how to test post?

As a beginner, it seems I need a special place, such as:

1. Test creating a post
2. Test make a post with special characters like (quote, color, insert code, font, etc)

3. Test make multi quote in the comments
4. Others

There are quite good number of threads that can navigate you with ease through the forum. Looking above I can see a few helpful threads giving out by other members for OP. But I'll like to add this two to  those already giving above.

1780  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your bitcoin May/June price analysis? on: June 07, 2023, 07:47:49 PM
So what are your bitcoin second quarter of 2023 market analyses, let discussed.
The year 2023 beginning has been with a positive start towards bitcoin with the slight bull rise we had and that exhumed the hopes of many investors that the year was/is going to be a favourable one for BTC eventually. Now we're at the last month of the first quarter of the year and BTC price is just fluctuating around 26k-28 and with this long time consolidation around those price range only two things are expected to take place.

Either a bull run or a bearing fall again but the odds for a striking bull run is much more expected by many to another drastic bear market fall again. Looking at how the year 2023 started I'll say the end of the year would bring about a more positive turn in the price of bitcoin hitting 40k above.
