how much is needed as a minimum to get this project off the ground?
74 BTC so far. There is no minimum, but they want around 1.2k BTC for everything they have planned ( ACRE project ). Else they are just going to focus on technical plate of RISE as far as I read it. |

I think you should expand this in the upcoming weeks if you want to get serious about this project - also a friendly note you should start using some other database from the start (levelDB for example) - LISK moved away from SQlite to PostgreSQL as there were some issues with SQlite and since you are using SQLcipher, which is just an extension of SQlite you will run in the same problems as well.
Yes, we actually had a conversation with Max at Lisk about that briefly a few days prior to ICO. We are going to be moving to MongoDB for the backend, which is more in-line with what we want to do. I wrote about that in the Whitepaper I released on Saturday. I was originally planning on streamlining some of the processes for SQLite, and hoping to get enough of a performance improvement out of it, but it's not likely that it would be enough to reach the network speeds we want to see. LevelDB is a good option if we were going to keep to the flat-file based DB system. I'd rather just switch over to a full on OODB and go from there. More flexibility, and has some interesting encryption mechanisms. Why MongoDB due to centralization of the nodes? Mongo isn't really a fast DB and certainly uses more resources. |

And would this be like Waves that the number of RISE we have upon investing will continue to decrease until the ICO ends?
It will be the same as WAVES / LISK - number of RISE ICO tokens is fixed so with each deposit 1 RISE = more value and thus decreasing at such how much much you will get for 0.07 BTC is to soon to tell could be 10 rise could 10000. |

DAO and WAVES both end before halving and I suspect both will be on markets at the start of June so you can "get out" selling your WAVES /DAOs before halving if you want. |

I don't quite understand this answer.
For example, if I invest 1 btc over the 35 you need to start the business, how much of the 5% will I receive? 5% /35?

The 5% will be distributed to all shareholders depending on how many DesertPay assets they have. If you have 50% of all DesertPay assets, you will get 50% of the 5%. So if I get this correct you are selling 5% of your company's shares for your goal of 50 BTC. Meaning you will have 95% ownership so you are valuing your company at 1000 BTC currently? |

An ICO is a risk yes but not a scam. Something can only be defined as a scam once the said scammer disappears without a trace which is clearly not the case. That's why anyone who knows a thing or two about investing will tell you to only invest what you are willing to lose. Wise words! ICO's are high rish / high reward if you have the guts to not get dragged in the FUDs and keep your head calm if coin drops for example to half it's value - if you believe in a project just be patient! |

Can anyone explain staking a bit more in-depth and how to set this up? I have a some rads on Poloniex and they are long term investment for me so I think staking would do me much better than just leaving it on Polo.
Download the wallet from the OP depending on your operating system and get it synced to the most recent blocks (this can sometimes take a while so you might want to use the bootstrap, ask if you need help with that!) Once your wallet is synced just move your coins from polo to your wallet and your coins will start staking automatically once they're mature! It's advised you encrypt your wallet to keep your coins safe. Just remember when you encrypt it you must enter your password to unlock your wallet in order to stake.
