look I agree, but I think it should be harder to be a hero member....the reason it may be useful is signal v noise argument.....

With the old system I could be a hero member in 4 hours from registration by keeping up a continuous posting rate of 2 posts per minute in the "Count to 21 million" thread.

Man, Cyberpunks are back? They really gotta stop reviving the 80s.
1763  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: June 19, 2013, 02:27:11 PM
I think I'll hide untrusted feedback by default using Javascript. It'll be like:

Quote
Trusted feedback

...

Untrusted feedback

Click here to show Untrusted feedback

If I do it this way, I'll add an option to always show untrusted feedback in your profile settings.

Done.

This is borked now. It will not show untrusted feedback, even when you click the show ratings button.

I know enough forums where postcount is not displayed at all exactly because of people assigning misplaced importance to postcounts.

I Humbly submit Greyhawk as an NPC. Also an SVU person. And a crayon Artist.

Where's the monocle and tophat?  Huh

You should leave before I get annoyed enough to break out my tools.

You think it's ok to use a sock puppet account to troll people.

Yeah, totally with you here BFL_Josh BFL-Jody Inaba.

That' s totally not a cool thing to do.

What a fruitcake. Why do we keep making psychopaths and sociopaths important and giving them power in this community?

But I dont' have all that much power?  Huh

[/troll-persona]

Truthspeak: That's not confined to BTCtalk or Bitcoiners. The thing is power finds sociopaths because sociopaths are the ones looking for that power the hardest in the mistaken assumption it will somehow heal the glaring holes in their personality/emotionality. <- Is that a word? If not it should be.

Absolutely, I can see that you have your priorities straight by how a logo is done already. You can check out my portfolio in this thread where I sold some if my artwork for another game project: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=234398.0

This sounds new and intriguing. I like the part where you have to grind stuff to see numbers go up. That is very innovative. Also the part where you become a super-rich dude that can rival whole nations with the value of his inventory. That never happened before. I also think it's very cool how the antagonist is never shown. It adds to the mystery and keeps people wanting to play more of numbers-going-up.
1771  Other / Meta / Re: Returning from Full Member to Junior Member... on: June 18, 2013, 11:27:55 PM

I'm not sure if you're serious or joking.  Either way, why does rank matter?

Ha, I asked the reptile the same question. He deleted it.  Sad
1772  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: June 18, 2013, 11:14:21 PM
Obviously it will reduce the number of garbage posts but it will also decrease some of the give and take; like threads that update newbies on mining options, or discuss interesting articles, or speculate on the value of bitcoin. I think it's going to get awfully quiet around here...

What? You think people merely post in those threads to get their postcount up?

If it's only about numbers going up I can sell these people a cute little app that sits in the corner of their screen slowly counting up and they can stare and smile at it all day. Only 1 BTC in this introductory week.
1773  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: June 18, 2013, 10:57:28 PM
I appreciate (positive or negative) feedback from my peers on posts I make.

That's called an answer. Like stringing together words to provide positive or negative feedback on the posts you make.

This is an example.

Oooh, can I break the 4th wall?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. However, if you don't like sir Reginald Greyhawk you can propose a first name of your choice.

I like that, it's a fitting name for a bridge troll with a monocle and tophat.
1775  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: June 18, 2013, 09:16:38 PM
It's discrediting longtime forum members. Please Fix this immediately!!

You're here a short 5 months. Why are you worried about longtime forum members?
1776  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 18, 2013, 09:07:07 PM
Are you sure?

At this rate greyhawk will end up an NPC in the game.

Oooh, can I break the 4th wall?

Because if so I'd like to have the following text, while Lonely Island plays in the background:

I'm in a game, I'm in a game
Everybody look at me
'Cause I'm featured in a game
I'm in a game, I'm in a game
Take a good hard look
At the motherfucking game

I'm in a game motherfucker, take a look at me
Straight flowing moves, plus five agility,
Busting bad guys, HUD spelling out my name,
You can't stop me motherfucker, 'cause I'm in a game

1777  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 18, 2013, 07:19:54 PM
$150 is not enough to take the risk of spec work of a 2048×1536 res fantasy game splash scene where we are not even sure what we are drawing is in line with whatever game idea you have in your head.

Are you sure?

1779  Economy / Services / Re: Art contest: win some BTC, shape the visual future of Bitcoin gaming. on: June 18, 2013, 05:56:19 PM
It's worth mentioning at this point that greyhawk now passes this criteria.

I also won a price for a pencil picture I drew when I was 6, so I passed that criteria long ago.
