1761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning Wisely: Strategies to Protect Your Bankroll on: October 11, 2023, 12:14:35 PM
I only know one thing for a gambler to play wisely: when he wins between $30 and $50, maybe it's a warning to stop; don't try to continue, because what frequently happens to those who continue even after winning is that they finally lose. Numerous gamblers have experienced this numerous times.
There times I stop  from continually gambling for the day immediately I make my first win irrespective of the amount won I'll just stop never try to continue with another bet and adjoin my gambling to the next day and each periods I do so it aids me in prolonging the time frame for my bankroll before it could get exhausted. Sometimes gamblers should be wise to discontinue with gambling for the day if they just got a win either at their first bet or made a win after been subjected to a few losses. The wisdom there is that you don't go home with an exhausted pocket or a completely emptied account. You still have a sum left to start with the next day.
It's good if you can stop after getting your first win. That can remind us to realize that we won't be able to win too often. We must be able to stop after winning whatever the amount. And if they continue gambling, they may lose again, which could be a big loss that will cost them all their money. Moreover, we know that gambling will not give us easy wins, so we must be aware of it. It's a good idea not to go home empty-handed because when we've managed to win some money, we've managed to get it, and it's time for us to go home.

Permit me to please disagree with you, as long as online gambling casino is concerned, there is none without any form of problem or problems, for me, I believe that our peace of mind in dealing with casinos is majorly in our hands, whether it involves a big or small casino, its all the same, if a gambler want peace of mind, he or she should just do well to keep and obey the rules and regulations of the casino, or terms of service, whatso ever it is called.

And by the way, its important for us to always remember that the casinos we refer to as big today were once a small and unknown casino as well, so should not really underrate casinos that are small and unpopular today because by tomorrow, such casinos may become big and popular as well.
Well, you are right because as long as we are in the online world, problems will come to us. But at least if we can choose a trusted casino, we can avoid this problem and gamble calmly and without any burden. But we must still comply with the casino rules and regulations because we have used the casino's services, so it is only natural that we comply with the rules.

The casinos we know today have become big, and when the casinos were not yet well-known and popular, they could provide satisfactory service to all their members. That is what can make today's famous and popular casinos survive and gain their reputation. So it all depends on how the casino can serve its members.

And why would the parents skip supervising their children? That is basically reckless parenting, and children who are taught something and aren't supervised after that, might get curious and try it but if parents make sure that they stay away from that thing, they will obviously keep an eye on their activities after that. I would never just leave my children to do whatever they want, especially if I teach them about something severe like gambling.

I'm personally not a fan of teaching children about such things if they are not old enough, let them stay away from it if they don't know about it already because once you mention it, they will have it in their minds. Let them grow up and once they ask you about it, then you can tell them the pros and cons of it.
If you look at the parenting patterns of parents today, they tend to give their children what they want instead of giving them what they need. Their parents are too busy with their work, so they cannot always supervise their children well and hand over supervision of their children to their caregivers. Caregivers who are not parents teach what they know but don't know whether it is suitable for the children or will have other impacts. But if parents can supervise their children well, their children will not do things that could harm their lives.

I am also like you. I still try to supervise my children even though I know I need to learn a lot to supervise and pay attention to my children. But at least I try to be close to them and always be there when they need me. And yes, let them grow up and enjoy their lives well.

That is the problem of society and most people opinion in this topic. They support hiding gambling, because it relies to something negative. Gambling = negative = bad. Imho that is a false vision and it is really hard to fix that or convince people in opposite. Also, I see no reason to adopt to others in this case. Kind of a herd effect, when person dont have his own opinion.

With gambling and gambling addiction there are to many IF. There are no reports, scientific facts or proves that a person gamble, that he turns into addicted with 100% probability. That is why I find it stupid to hide my hobby or habit, because someone read or saw somewhere article about addiction and made conclusion that I am also gonna turn into one one day and ruin my and my family's life.
Perhaps they feel uncomfortable with other people's opinions in their environment, so they continue to hide their gambling activities so that there will be problems with these people. Each person chooses to hide or even show it to their environment, whichever makes them feel comfortable telling the truth to others.

Perhaps we would say that is a wrong vision, but not for them because they certainly have their own considerations. We just need to know it because that's what they want. Yes, you are right that there are IFs, which would be a reason people hide or show them to others. Whether you become addicted or can still control your gambling activities will depend on each person because we gamble using our money, and we should be able to be responsible with ourselves and our money.
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: October 10, 2023, 09:38:37 PM
How will you feel if someone you know or just a friend of a friend walk up to you and ask you to finance them in gambling in exchange for a portion of their winnings? Does this even make any sense?
That doesn't make any sense at all. We don't need to respond to their requests, especially since they want to gamble with our money. It's different if they borrow money from us to open a business. Perhaps that can still be considered.

Because the only place this makes a bit sense is the skills base niche like forex trading or crypto trading, how can gambling/gambler be financed?
Maybe. But I don't want to finance my friend. Even though he said he was very good at gambling, I still wouldn't pay for it.

Have you heard of such before? What is the end result if you have?
I've never heard of it before. Does it really exist?

Why would you trust anyone to gamble better than you can when it's all about luck?
I don't trust someone who gambles better than me, even though I see it firsthand when gambling and being able to win.

Is anyone doing this on here?
I do not know. Maybe someone does.

Someone explained this to me, and I believe he is already a victim because to me it doesn't make sense, I believe he is been used because he lacks knowledge about gambling, do you think my judgment is wrong?
Your judgment is not wrong. Maybe he has become a victim.
1766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 10, 2023, 04:52:31 PM
It seems that what you said corresponds to reality. Giving up gambling is very difficult, unless we are bankrupt and have no more money to deposit. I stopped gambling for about 3 or 4 months (didn't gamble at all) but after getting extra income from this forum, I started gambling again. The difference is, now I limit myself and limit the money I can use to gamble

Actually there is nothing wrong with gambling, as long as gambling does not make us lose a lot of money and have a lot of debt. One way I control my money for gambling is by withdrawing money from my bank account and leaving a small amount of money in the account. So when I want to gamble I need to deposit money into an ATM, and often I am too lazy to do that, so I cancel my gambling desires.
Quitting gambling is very difficult. But if we realize that while gambling, we don't get many wins and only lose, it seems like we really have to stop gambling or reduce our gambling activities. Gambling is not wrong, but you have to have clear boundaries so you don't gamble too much. Many people lose self-control while gambling, so they lose a lot of money and end up completely bankrupt.

What you did was good. You can control yourself while gambling and regulate how much to gamble. Not many can do it because people tend to deposit some more money when they lose. They still want to gamble and recover previous losses and want to win.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 10, 2023, 04:24:25 PM
It is difficult to make a career out of gambling because gambling is not a job you are used to. You can get a salary weekly or monthly at work, but in gambling, you cannot get money as often as you want. That's what makes it difficult to make money from gambling.

There may be people who can make money from gambling, but there will not be as many people who fail. And it will require a lot of things and considerations before someone decides to use gambling as a job. He must see the risks he will accept if he decides to use gambling as a job.
1768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 10, 2023, 04:06:02 PM
I don't keep track of my wins and losses. But I always allocate the same amount of money every week or month, depending on how much I have. Perhaps those who record their wins and losses think that it is good because they can check how much money they use and how much their wins and losses are to know what they should do. The note also reminds them to always have limits in gambling so that they do not gamble excessively and can even start reducing their gambling activities. So the benefits of having a note depend on each person because if they have a note, it means there is a goal they want to achieve or the note can remind them that gambling is for entertainment only.

That open communication can speed up the process, even how tough it is but if both sides are willing to work hand in hand that addiction can be eliminated in a much quicker time frame, I see that there are addicted gamblers who are always denying that problem making it hard for someone to give the help that they needed.

If they can just let it go and try to do other things that may divert their attentions, other activities can lead them away from any gambling related practices.
Creating open communication will require awareness from the gambling addict to want to open himself up and accept the presence of other people who will help him cure his gambling addiction. But if a gambling addict denies and doesn't want to admit that he has a gambling addiction, it certainly won't work and he will still have difficulty curing his gambling addiction. His denial may prevent other people from knowing what a gambling addict should do and how to help him.

But it will depend on the people who want to help him because if they still care about the gambling addict, they will try various ways to divert his attention to gambling. Maybe they won't do it openly because it can keep gambling addicts away. But they will use other approaches to make the gambling addict aware that he has other things he can do.
1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a strategy to lose on: October 10, 2023, 02:50:10 PM
If a person wants to become a gambling expert, say at poker, he must learn more about the game of poker. During the learning process, he must also practice what he has learned to know which parts must be improved or developed. But some people can learn many things at once and can do it. But to win a gambling game may require other things, including luck.

And maybe it's better to learn one type of gambling game until you really master it than to learn many gambling games. Perhaps that will confuse you about what to learn first, and if that happens, you won't focus on the game but will want to win as many games as possible.

I don't agree with you, as far as I know, no parent wants their child to gamble, let alone accompany their child to gamble. Because gambling for children is very vulnerable to their future development. Because if you can't control the negative impacts of gambling then you will become lazy at work and quite a few will steal. The last sentence is correct, children should not be introduced to gambling games because gambling games are not for children.

Because if they are addicted to gambling games then their mindset will be difficult to improve. They can no longer be advised by friends, relatives or even their own family to stop. One way to stop an addicted person is to separate them from the internet, accounts, cell phone, etc. And also the mindset of gamblers, if they lose they will not blame themselves but the environment around them.
Indeed, no parent wants their child to gamble. But we don't know that there might be parents out there who don't mind seeing their children gambling because they always supervise their children when gambling. They do this so that their children can learn about self-control when gambling and not exceeding their limits. The last sentence clarifies the first sentence so that children are not introduced to gambling games, which will be better for children.

To cure someone addicted to gambling, we must go through various methods because we may still be looking for which method can work for them. This requires attention from the family to always monitor family members so they can realize that something is different from usual. By understanding those who still frequently gamble, it might be possible to make them aware to reduce their gambling activities.

You are right in that people don't want to talk about their addictions, even if they have control over it. For example, it is not socially accepted to say that you like to smoke marijuana to relax or that you drink beer every day after work. People don't like that kind of thing. It's the same with gambling addiction. People won't understand you even if you play casino games once a week just to have fun.
That's because they don't want to see people have negative opinions about what they do, so they will hide their gambling activities from other people. Apart from that, by hiding their gambling activities, they will enjoy their relaxing moments by gambling and will not hear negative opinions from the people around them.

~snip~
Why wouldnt I want someone to find out that I am gambling. I have noticed that evaluation of gambling in topic "never gamble in front of the kids". People consider gambling as something negative. When we hear gambling, first things we think are something illegal, crimital, addiction, loosing money. My vision is different, it is a way to spend time and have fun. I've tried to convince people, that gambling does not equal bad. But its is hard to do that. For me, gambling = fun. I get some relax while gambling. I dont have a single bad memory about gambling (I dont even feel bad for long time when I lose). It was always smiling, laughter and joking. So why would I hide it, be shamed of it, hide it from kids and etc, as if I am doing something bad.
It's okay if you think like that because we have our own desires or different wishes. So that's what I noticed in the environment around me because many people still think gambling is something negative, which makes people still hide their gambling activities. So they feel that it would be better for them to do that rather than have something that makes them uncomfortable, especially in their relationships. They will not have problems hiding their gambling activities if they can or have good self-control. So it is normal for people who do not want to show their gambling activities to other people because some considerations cause them to do such things.

~snip~
When it comes to keeping our gambling habits a secret, we should try and consider some factors before going ahead with our decision on wether good to keep it secret or not. For instance, anyone that's not good in controlling his emotions isn't supposed to keep his gambling habits to himself because when the person lose huge sum of money and can't control his emotions over it, he's likely to gamble more and more in his bid to make sure that he recovers his money and most times they lose more instead of recovering. But if he had informed people around him of his gambling habit, they'll help in regulating him and know when he's doing more than he should do
Therefore, if someone can control their emotions well, they will not experience any problems related to their gambling activities. The person hides his gambling activities for various reasons that he may not be able to say, which is normal for him. Maybe other people couldn't accept it because the reasons he would explain would be different. But maybe he could tell other people about his gambling activities if he was okay with it. The important thing is whether he will tell about his gambling activities or hide it from others, he must have good self-control while gambling so that he will not get into any trouble.
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning Wisely: Strategies to Protect Your Bankroll on: October 10, 2023, 01:47:56 PM

Well, this is not something you can just conclude because because its like a coin with two sides, for some, they indeed might experience a long losing streak but when luck hits, they end up winning an amount of money that is far greater than what ever amount the gambler have spent while losing. at least, I have seen this happen with several gamblers, most especially in slot or casino games when the gambler luckily get a very nice multiplier.

And concerning the adage that we should only gamble with the amount of money we can afford to lose, this is one major rule every gambler must adhere to and obey, its very important not to over gamble no matter the reason for our gambling, for I personally know that, majority of gamblers out there do gamble solely for the purpose of winning money I return, while its just a very number of gambler that actually gamble for the fun of it.
Knowing this makes us be more careful when gambling and not exceed our set limits. Maybe that's something we should always remember because only by doing that can we still enjoy gambling and won't gamble excessively like other people. But it is very rare to find a gambler who has experienced a fairly large losing streak but can get his big win by getting bigger money than the previous loss. Most gamblers experience losses much greater than their wins, so it would be better if they could stop gambling for a while to calm down and accept their losses. Indeed, some gamblers can get big wins after suffering quite big losses, and we know that.

~snip~
Usually, if a gambler increases his bet because he lost, he uses the martingale strategy because that is the only strategy that novice gamblers usually use to recover from their losses, but in the end, this method will also be defeated by consecutive losses, especially since you have to have large enough capital to carry out this strategy. because if you use small capital it will be very difficult.

Actually, the correct way is to set a budget for gambling so that it does not exceed the budget limit provided, sometimes people feel that it is not important even though it is very important to make it an alarm, if we can limit the budget of course we can also determine the number of bets that we can play at a time. gamble. always remember that the dealer will always win, don't be focused and ambitious about winning big money, enjoy the game and consider winning as a bonus
However, gamblers who use the martingale strategy must remain careful because it will not always work for them. The capital they use will also be greater than before, while the losses will also be greater. So they have to measure their financial capabilities so they don't spend much money on gambling.

Yes, setting a budget for gambling is what we have to do so that we don't exceed the limits and we can be on the right path in gambling. And we can also prevent losses that might be even bigger. We must remember that gambling is not a place to make money. The casino will always win and earn big money. If we can win, that is a bonus we should be grateful for.

I don't agree with the generalization that women always pay attention to expenses and women are always considered responsible for expenses, even though this factor depends on the individual. I even noticed that many women are very wasteful in managing their finances, they buy expensive things and even things they rarely use.

However, if the comparison scale is towards gambling then I agree with the opinion that women always calculate the expenses in every bet, statistically the female gender is less involved in gambling activities, they may not be interested in bets that do not guarantee a profit, they like realistic income from other jobs .
Perhaps that's what you see in your environment, and it's different from what I see in my environment because where I live, women always think about and try to be responsible for their expenses. They are not wasteful in spending their money, especially shopping online, because they know that nowadays things are difficult and making money is difficult. So they have to always calculate or manage their expenses every day.

And I also rarely see women gambling, but I don't know if they gamble online. However, it does not rule out the possibility that women could become more wasteful because these possibilities can be experienced by everyone, including men and women.
1775  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: October 10, 2023, 12:50:22 PM
~snip~
You have a very good point, promotions and bonuses , no matter how juicy it is or maybe, should never be a reason why a gambler should rush into signing up and depositing money, and playing on a casino they know nothing about, this absolutely should not be so.

As gamblers, for the safety of our money at least, it is very important to do our due diligence on any casino we are interested in playing on, most especially if the casino is a new one, scammers knowing that bonuses and promotions are one of the easiest ways to lure gamblers into signing up on a casino and depositing without researching, would most of the time setup casinos for no other purpose other than to steal money from who ever becomes their victim.

This is one of the reasons why we should never neglect the place of research, and never trust a casino if they offer bonuses that are too good to be true.

And coming back to KYC, i personally believe that it will be of great help if after signing up on a new casino, we reach out to the customer care of such casino to find out what their terms on KYC is, even if we have read it in their terms of service, having the customer care repeat their terms in chat can sure give some confidence, so that if after depositing and playing, and upon withdrawal, they try to do anything stupid, we can immediately hold them by their words .
Looking for more information about the casino before we register is something we should do. This is also aimed at all gamblers who have yet to find a casino to gamble at so they can avoid the scams we have heard about from various shady casinos. It's okay if we can't find the right casino. That's because we don't want to experience bad things later, and we also want to ensure that we actually get the right casino.

And when we start to find several casinos, we have to test them before actually using the casino to gamble. We can deposit a small amount of money and play for a while, but remember, we should not be triggered by anything, including promotions that the casino might give to its new members. We must always be alert because scam casinos will give their new members attractive bonuses so they can deposit more money to gamble.

With that research, we can find the right casino, especially for us, because our choices will be different from other people's. And don't just follow what other people suggest to us without researching it first because what other people think is suitable doesn't mean it will also be suitable for us. And for KYC, it is our choice. If we have found comfort in gambling at the casino, we will want to do KYC because the casino has provided satisfactory service. But perhaps it won't be suitable for other people because they won't find the same comfort as us.
1776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Navigating the World of Online Gambling on: October 10, 2023, 12:26:05 PM

Beginner gamblers are usually given a win at the start. This method can be called an inducement for beginners to continue playing. It sounds tricky, but that's gambling, the gambling platform must have used tactics so that they don't experience big losses. Small wins can trigger beginners to continue carrying out their activities. So the small winnings given by the gambling platform don't mean anything because the gambling platform will experience bigger profits from the promotions they carry out.

Beginners are more easily tempted, so the initial problem of gambling addicts also starts from here, they are also beginners, after finding out that the game is fun and can make money, they will continue to try it until they become addicts, in contrast to those who already have enough gambling experience and are already familiar with the world of gambling. For a long time, they will not be easily tempted by promotional promotions in gambling because they already know how the gambling platform works.
That's how it is. If they can't control themselves in the first moments of gambling, they will only regret it if they have started gambling for a while. We must not let ourselves get too deep into gambling, and even though there are very attractive promotions given to us, we must be able to filter them so that we do not follow all the promotions because they require more money. Getting a small win doesn't mean we will get it continuously at the next opportunity to gamble, but we can experience loss. And when we are lucky at the start of our gambling, that is a good thing, but we have to keep controlling ourselves so we don't experience big losses.

Newbie gamblers need to realize this and will return to the casino another day with more money. They seem to have prepared everything before gambling for the second or third time because they still want to win again. But they should realize they are playing gambling where they cannot always win. And don't be easily tempted by the promotions given by gambling because they have to calculate their budget for gambling.
1777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 10, 2023, 11:44:11 AM
~snip~
That's the way it should be, whether they are young or old, they should be able to realize it so that they can make precautions or reduce and basically some restrictions that should be done. Honestly I don't care if they are old or young, in gambling they are the same and it all depends on themselves and their own personalities. We can't assume that those who are older are mature in their thinking and choices, it won't always be like that even though our assumptions usually say that older must be more mature. And that's the wrong thought, they make a mindset that will indirectly make themselves trapped or create a trap for themselves. So before gambling or getting into gambling it's better to do your research first, if you can't withstand all the risks that are there I think it's better not to do it because it will only make it worse and add to the problem.
There is no difference when they gamble because the only difference is how they can control themselves in gambling. They are not responsible gamblers if they are older but cannot control themselves. But some people are younger but can control themselves well, prevent themselves from losing a lot, and become responsible gamblers. That's what every gambler needs as long as he gambles, and if they can't do it, they will only experience a lot of losses while they can't win. This mindset does not depend on a person's age but on how a person can respond to what must be done rather than just pursuing or following their desires.

~snip~
I know how hard it is to get our minds around gambling especially if you're already in the addiction phase, it's very difficult, your logic and greed will keep arguing between the facts and the uncertain expectations. I hope you can give your logic a little time to think realistically that this is gambling to test your luck, nothing more than that and don't overdo it if you want to survive until the end of the journey.
It is very difficult to control our thoughts if we have a gambling addiction. We will not see what gambling addiction, greed, logic and others are because we only think about gambling, winning and enjoying it. We won't think anything other than that. Yes, this is gambling. We don't need to test our luck by continuing to play because that could cause us to experience a lot of losses.

~snip~
For the problem of whether or not they are firm in applying self-control, I think it's true that it will come back to themselves, only they know what they feel, every gambler has a different way, so that means they also have their own way to overcome it if they really want to stop. Of course, as I said before, there is no way they can instantly stop gambling especially for those who are already addicted. So a more effective alternative is that you have to start from now on to reduce it so that when you reach your target to stop you will have no difficulty stopping because your interest must have decreased to gamble.
That is if they have their own way of controlling themselves. Each gambler knows how to control himself, but because they are covered by their ego and desire to win, they forget to control themselves. Someone who gambles for too long will not be able to remember when he has to stop because his goal of gambling is no longer to get pleasure but to win. That would be different from his original goal, and he would suffer more defeats. And when the money was gone, he realized he had made a fatal mistake.

Definitely, genuinely! Who wants to take a chance with shady casinos, you ask? All of us are here in hopes of winning the big prize at a respectable casino. You're absolutely right; although it's wonderful that regulators are keeping a watch, we also need to keep our own eyes peeled. Double the alertness, double the security, correct?

Now, about spending big money... Why draw attention from the casino by flashing the cash? Play it smart, play it cool. Furthermore, isn't it reassuring to know that you're at a place where everyone is looking out for you? Together, we will share our favorite locations and steer clear of those annoying mistakes. So why search elsewhere when here is the place to get the best advice? However, don't we find it amusing that despite having our favorite locations, we're still here chit-chatting? What the heck is that about?
Yes, you said it right, and that is what we should do in gambling. When we gamble at famous casinos, we will not experience any problems. But when we gamble in shady casinos, it's only a matter of time before we encounter problems. As long as we don't arouse any suspicion from the casino, we can enjoy our gambling activities well, and there won't be any problems.

We are lucky to get these famous and popular casinos from this forum because we share these casinos so that we all don't experience bad things. But even so, we must limit the use of money for gambling rather than losing money at the gambling table because we have lost it.

When gambling, we need good self-control so as not to spend too much, and we already know the adage of only using the money we can afford. If you have experienced a losing streak, you should stop because it can affect your emotions. Later, you will not be able to stop before you win. But even though you win, you still lose because if you count everything, you will see that the amount you lose will be greater than the wins you have obtained.

Determining the betting amount is something every gambler needs to pay attention to. If you start betting with small money, use it every time you bet and don't increase your bets just because you lose. But if you experience a losing streak, you are not having good luck, so you have to stop first.

......
I'm also curious why some members think that women are less risk takers than men! Are there any reliable studies which support such claims?
Women may actually take less risk than men. Men can easily control themselves when they lose a gamble, but women don't seem to control themselves easily when they lose a gamble. Gambling is usually played for entertainment, but the goal is to make money. Although many people gamble for fun, most people gamble with the hope of winning money. Gambling definitely requires money. Gambling is very risky, gambling loses money and it is better not to gamble. Most of the women in the world do not gamble, those who gamble should gamble with a cool head. Care must be taken that a woman who gambles for fun does not become addicted to gambling. Where I live no women gamble, take other means of entertainment. It is better for women to stay away from gambling.
Women will consider it first before deciding. Often, they take longer than men. And they also don't dare to take big risks, which makes women always careful in their actions. This is different from men who seem to be in a hurry to decide everything so that men will be at greater risk than women. But not all men are like that because there are men who can also be careful in deciding things. And because it is gambling, perhaps fewer women will gamble than men because of the fear of experiencing big losses in gambling for women.
