1761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which company will be next to accept Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2023, 02:16:01 PM
Most of them are already looking into this option for sure, especially the tech and banking industry. What I want to see is that, full payment option in our locals that can boost Bitcoin adoption. Big industry should start considering using blockchain technology, it will be hard for them if they are being left behind, they might lose the competition which I believe they can’t afford it.
I have a gut feeling that many bigger and smaller cap companies are working on it without telling the public, which is obviously understandable because then the markets would shake too much and the governments would start doing what it does best.

But then when one company declares that they are going to accept, hundred others will also wake up from their slumber and say that they are going to be accepting it too - which has happened previously with many things and I used to find it absurd how they all declared the same product/service at the same time. Roll Eyes

We can hope for the best and collect bitcoin every few months whenever the price falls and just wait it out. Wink
1762  Economy / Economics / Re: How we survive food shortages on: February 11, 2023, 02:11:41 PM
Food shortages have being a big problems in the global world today where tremedious things are happening people finds it difficult to buy food especially, rice products, climate change has devastated  the whole global world where crops can no longer do well in the farming system, believe with this new information about the crypto space can  our climate change system be put together where there will be high rate of food shortages in the global world as a new beginner I want to know we can fix this things I mentioned.
You are thinking in terms of the "apocalypse" line of thought which might be true in the long term but not right now. Food shortages and all that are often the scare tactic take by many lobbyists to promote their idea. Please remember that not every country is going to face this problem and if you are earning enough to afford a simple meal.

In the future we might see problems, but the question remains whether you should worry about it? One might have undergone a natural death long before such bad times actually come in, so whats the point to worry?

And I dont understand the crypto angle to this - like many forum users have often pointed out, crypto is not a silver bullet to every problem in the world. Poor people and poor countries will remain poor, they will not be able to buy crypto and gain that so called "financial freedom".
1763  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: February 10, 2023, 01:28:43 PM
Any habit can become an obsession and then the problem starts in my opinion. If someone is able to keep their stuff in control then it's fine but specifically a certain group will face problems. They are the one who are prone to addiction and these people need to stop trading or gambling and focus on other things in life.

This problem will be controlled by traders on their own is they are going in on the long term spot trading exclusively. Going for margin trading, leverage or day trading will induce the pathological problem again.
1764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High Profit Projects Are Prone To Scam on: February 10, 2023, 10:08:32 AM
In fact, I don't sympathize with people who are cheated. Pizza doesn't fall from the sky. Greedy people will eventually be killed by themselves. With such a high return, I believe no one will sue you for this opportunity. This is human nature.
Those who don't understand how the market works and how people get scammed will fall for high return schemes which are essentially scams or pump and dump. There are those who hunt for such projects and they might make money but in reality most of them are going to lose which includes the common folk at this forum.

The way to avoid this is not to get greedy, but keep patience to buy low and sell high.
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 09, 2023, 03:36:12 PM
An old timer like him might not completely like the cryptocurrency and the associated online gambling presence. You would have first make him knowledgeable about crypto and how to keep it safe and secure then introduce him to online casinos and explain safety measures there. Online stuff is always going to be a problem for the older people, who lack a technical background, we all are aware of this.

He would rather miss the physical casino ambience. Try to introduce him through your own account, see if he likes it at all. Other than that I dont see any casinos giving out promos for senior citizens, they would have to KYC him first anyway.
1766  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: February 09, 2023, 03:30:25 PM
There are so many people who bought at a high price, and when they saw the price going down they ended up selling it. Why though? Like why did you buy at high is a question that they need to answer themselves, but that's fine because sometimes you buy at the wrong time. But why do they sell at a lower price? That never made any sense to me at all because you could have waited for it to recover and that would have made you so much more money.
They think that they made a mistake buying at that price and since it is going down they could either sell at loss or short sell. The second option is usually nonexistant because after selling at a loss they are supposed to buy at lower price to complete the short sell, instead they become hesitant and dont engage the trade at all.

Often this is done by those who are looking for quick gain on the crypto market so they just bought at whatever price they could see, who dont have any long term goal.

Quote
All in all I believe that we should be keep holding whenever the price goes down, and we could make a lot more money that way, it just requires you to keep holding and that's not really a big problem at all.
That patience will be lacking if you have the headache of having to pay back a big loan or you are looking to pay back some big bills - often the root cause of the quick-rich mindset.
1767  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: February 09, 2023, 03:26:22 PM
If you let your emotions control you, you'll get into a lot of trouble. For example, if you feel happy spending money on wants, if you let that happiness ruin you, you'll keep buying things. Similarly, if you are greedy and get overwhelmed by winnings or losses, you will now trade with larger lot sizes. I've read also in a book that we should act like machines or computers, where no emotions kick in, only algorithms, and find the best solutions to a particular situation. If we can really do that, we won't get into any trouble.
Compulsive stock market investment is now a new disease included in the DSM and henceforth we must make people who are prone to develop such compulsions aware of the same that this is a problem and they need to stop before they burn themselves out.

Point is that either type of compulsive actions are destructive, be it in gambling or trading or shopping or eating etc. However this compulsion comes as a counter mechanism to another obsession. Truly this revenge trading is a problem if someone is doing it regularly. Trading must be done with patience and research, waiting for the low price, pouncing on that and waiting till the high is reached to sell. Only then it an organized execution yielding the maximum possible profit.
1768  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 09, 2023, 03:21:11 PM
Being a student is so hard nowadays. I've been spending a lot for school requirements and different activities related to education. I'm stuck with this saying "SAVING IS WASTING", thinking that with the little amount of money I have, should I put it on an investment or should I just save it for my future expenses or emergencies. I'm also living in a country in which there are limited side hustles I could do to earn extra for investment, so I'm troubled somehow.
Saving and investing both have their importance. Your bank deposit is a safer liquid-able asset in case of an emergency need of funds and is a stable source of interest every month, compared to a cryptocurrency which is a high-risk difficult to liquidate asset.

You have to decide how much you are willing to put in savings and in what form and how much you want to put in investing both high risk and low risk assets. I would keep the investment to 10% maximum of my monthly income.

The major attraction to a high risk asset is the possible return on selling and that for a low risk asset is the safety that comes in the long run. Keep both types in your portfolio and you should be doing good. Try to learn about the asset too before investing and increase the types of assets in your portfolio with time. Dont be biased towards crypto which this forum members might opine for.
1769  Economy / Economics / Re: The journey of Bitcoin. on: February 08, 2023, 03:08:23 PM
I once read an article that says that bitcoin users in 2021 reached more than 300 million, a significant increase in African countries occurred up to thousands of percent so that now cryptocurrencies are getting stronger, naturally if many millions of world continue to invest bitcoin because of a huge potential in the future.
That is why we are seeing the names of crypto and bitcoin come up every other day in the newspapers which was almost non-existant 6years ago when I joined this forum. I am happy to see this development and I hope it continues and becomes even bigger in future. With some countries gradually accepting crypto as a legal tender the other governments would be forced to look back and become more lenient towards it.

About introducing friends and family to bitcoin - a word of caution, not everyone can understand how this works and how to keep the money safe - you dont want your recklessness to be the cause of a loss for someone who have very little. Always give a disclaimer that they would not hold you responsible for their losses in case they incur any.
1770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: February 08, 2023, 02:57:26 PM
Sometimes I find myself being added to Telegram groups where they are doing bounty campaigns for new coins but at the end of the day, people will start complaining that the project is dead. In most cases I exited from the groups immediately I find myself there because I feel they are prone to defrauding people.
This makes me to wonder if bounties really pay.
A bounty campaign taken up by a reputed member has more chances of being legit than that is taken up by some less known manager. Remember that you are trusting the manager's experience here to select a worthy project and weed out the bad ones. But in general a bounty campaign is not bound by any laws to pay its participants, they can cite a hundred reasons why they might decide to not pay and you cannot do anything about it but swallow it.

I would suggest you to change your telegram privacy settings so you are not added to random groups like that.
1771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tip and Tricks about when to buy or when to sell? on: February 07, 2023, 03:10:43 PM
1- Can anyone point me to a YouTube video that teaches trading for newbie?
Dude, come on, you can search this yourself. Not just videos but articles might be there on the internet too. Specifically search the ones for the exchange that you commonly use.

Quote
2- When the Volume is green and up, then does this mean now is the time to buy? I think this means that many people are buying and the price will probably increase. Am I right?
Volume green and going up means there is a buying pressure. It does not mean a time for buying, it indicates that buying is happening. Now you would not want to buy at the top of the cycle because you would lose money when the price goes down. The ideal buying time is when people are selling and market is in deep red zone. Because selling from that buy price at the bull market would yield maximum difference in (sell-buy) = profit

3- How can I see the buying and selling queue?
Orderbook queues are available to see on the exchanges. Check the one you are using.
1772  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: February 07, 2023, 03:06:27 PM
Since strategy are always changing in trading, what is the relevance of experience?
Experience teaches you that the buy low sell high strategy is the only one to follow and is going to give you good returns in a long term game.

Who would you trust the most for trading tips,
There is no such thing as trading tips. Anyone touting the same is a scammer/opportunist attempting to fool you for something valuable.

Quote
An old trader who has had better days and mostly still relevant because they have a strong reputation for the fact that he has been trading for a while, or would you trust a new trader who is hot in the market and fresh with new strategies?
I only trust charts and my own judgement. Remember that your loss in this market is the gain for another trader. So why would you expect someone to help you at all?

If it is a family member who has good interests in you, then its fine. But internet weirdos giving advise is a strict no-no. To learn trading you can search on the internet and learn a lot of the basics that are needed. No need for advanced jargons because you will never be able to apply them. Follow the method I mentioned in my first line and you will profit easily over time.
1773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: misconceptions have always been and will always be on: February 07, 2023, 03:01:45 PM
The points mentioned by the OP are all good but still there will be people taking risks with hyped projects that dont have a proper team or vision. It is because of the human nature to take risks and the high associated with it.

I think the major reason why newbie investors fall out if because they fall for this human nature, which if controlled can yield a lot of fruitful results. Imagine buying bitcoin at the lows and then selling at the high - not so difficult in real either way. This is a confirmed profit but few people actually do this properly. Rather they want the return fast of they want to buy large number of shitcoins.

Investing and trading in crypto are not easy but can be done if you are willing to play it safe.
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2023, 11:08:10 AM
If we want crypto currency to be a currency we have to keep spending right? But at the same time it's something worth keeping too since I do the same with my fiat in bank for more than 2years without touching it. Is it possible to say that Bitcoin in every wallets for the past 2years without moving are considered lost due to death or lost recovery keys? It's pretty hard to believe that anyone won't come back for their Bitcoin after 2years with no activities on the wallet.
Spending or storing crypto is a personal choice, no one made it obligatory to spend bitcoin in order to keep its status as currency instant. That would be silly to think of.

Keeping bitcoin as a store of asset is being done my many people. They will use that money when they need it. It is not that those wallets which remains inactive for a few years have seen their owners demise. It is possible but can only be speculated at this point, not proved.

Forget about getting access to keys for lost wallets, those offers are scams, trying to lure you by using your greed.
1775  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share Tips For Newbie Traders on: February 06, 2023, 11:03:54 AM
As someone who has been trading for quite some time, I know how to keep myself engaged in things outside trading too. I have a job and I keep the minimum time for trading so that I am the one in control of trading and not the other way around. Since I mostly trade for long term, this process suits me. It will not suit a day trader.

If someone is wasting too much time on trading then trading is not for them. They will end up in a loss or in depression over time because of stacking losses.
1776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: beginner in Crypto on: February 06, 2023, 11:00:56 AM
As a beginner in Crypto with a limited budget would you recommend purchasing the lower priced NFT's?
Would you want to buy a stash of shitcoins or you want to buy a smaller amount of a well established asset that has been performing well for years today?

This simple reasoning will solve a lot of problems in real life too. Bitcoin even in smaller amounts is always profitable when bought at the low prices. You gradually stack up those sats into bits, not that you can buy a huge amount overnight.

Low priced coins or nfts or tokens will remain low and never actually come up. This has been the trend for years now.
1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tip and Tricks about when to buy or when to sell? on: February 06, 2023, 10:54:13 AM
You buy when the price is low and you sell when the price is high. The question remains how high or how low are you going to go? That decision is based on previous price charts.

If the price was lingering at a low and then suddenly dropped you would want to wait to see the low and buy just as it seems to recover. This is the tough part of the decision but that difficulty can be covered by buying at different levels in equal amount.

By no means so I expect a newbie to do this effectively on their first day. But watch the market and read the charts, do some dummy trading.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 05, 2023, 05:19:58 AM
It is a game of chance after all, although one might argue that the above posted betslips are for sports which is supposed to be EV+ game. But then again how many addicted gamblers actually do research on teams and then bet? Practically less than 10% of them all.

Hence by copying someone's gambling book you are only playing in the wild and you are carrying the same risk that you would carry if you bet on your own.

However you are not alone, because it is human nature to follow someone whom they see as successful and that is they reason why social media influencers are so popular and they manage to run coercion groups so easily. You have to be mature and accept that gambling on sports needs a ton of homework and then only you might have a chance of predicting correctly, added to it the luck factor.
1779  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to buy bitcoin. on: February 05, 2023, 05:15:21 AM
You can keep a general conclusion that stocks/bonds/commodities going down means there is a background negative event and therefore bitcoin will also go down but there is not direct relation between them. Those who short will sell on the dump to buy back at lower prices, so if the same group of investors are going in on each of these assets it might seem that bitcoin is following them.

I would say that there is no "best" time but one should buy bitcoin at the lower range of the cycle otherwise just wait it out. Like currently there is a uptrend going on, so the time to buy was before this when the bear market was going on.

Strangely, I am seeing threads talking about buying bitcoin only after the uptrend has started and not during the bear market, when intelligent investors actually do the opposite. Roll Eyes
1780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: February 04, 2023, 05:18:52 PM
Ripple is centralized with an unlimited supply, it is good if you are only interested in the moneytary aspects of it but bitcoin carries with it the sense of deflationary decentralization and hence the community here is biased about it. You will get a biased answer from this forum but on the global scale you could do a survey and might be a different result.

For me, the goal is to make money from trading besides the use of bitcoin, so I am not investing or supporting Ripple but I do hope its current users will see gains in future depending on how they use it. These financial companies always settle with the regulatory bodies over a few years and come to a middle ground so I dont think its users should worry about that much.
