This is what was originally planned, was it not? Vootcoin anonymous exchange could be the next big thing because the anonymous exchange will allow users to trade without compromising their identities.
My plan is to make Vootcoin exchange one of the top alt-coins exchange with 100-500 BTC trading volume. I tested Shadow myself and I couldnt trace so amazing! Dark was/is working on coinjoin system...some say it is not worth working on as coinjoin has been proven to not be anonymous and some like it. Developer Update 07.08.2014:
PoSA Update:
There have been two big changes in 1.9.7.27:
First:
Instead of relaying any POSA Service Availability Announcements around that a node sees, it only relays announcements from itself out to other nodes.
Originally, relaying them around makes it so the network can light up faster, but then you have no way of directly contacting one of those nodes. It could be a node that a peer of a peer of a peer is connected to. So we changed it so your view of the PoSA network is only comprised of those PoSA nodes you are directly connected to as peers.
Second:
There is now an "are you up?" validation check when sending, by sending a check message and waiting for the acknowledgement. If we don't get an acknowledgement before it times out to verify that the node is still up, then the send fails.
PoSA testing is continuing and we'll aim to get a public version out soon.

Ich verstehe kein Wort. 1. Was ist BKK time? Bangkok? 2. Was ist bitte Darksend? Darksend = Darkcoin, meinst du vlt Shadowsend? 3. Das ist ja mal sowas von verdächtig. Das Darkcointeam arbeitet seit über 6 Monaten an einer vernünftigen Lösung. Und wo kommt das Shadowcointeam her? Über Nacht? 4. Der Lead dev ist kein fake? Warum ist er denn anonym und Forum newbie? Hab mit dem Dev persoenlich im IRC geschrieben wirkt gefaesstigt und hat Ahnung , aber wie gesagt ich vertraue keinem mehr 21.05 Uhr Bangkok Zeit: Ich sehe meine These hat bis jetzt gehalten und Shadow ist Hot heute. Nicht verbrennen Jungs fundamental ist es wohl der alte Cinni Coin DEV mit den alteN Features. Aber hat es wohl mit Shadowsend jetzt geschafft das der Coin aus meiner Sicht nicht 40 k sondern 80 k wert ist. Mal sehn was der Markt heute dazu sagen wird. This place looks like a PS4/Xbox360 debate thread. Memes and shit, calling eachother trolls back and fourth. I'm starting to think some of you are pretending to be in favor of Cloak but acting like goobers just to make cloak look bad. Like some kind of double agent spy kind of shit.
Yeah... Sometimes I wonder why Cloak is priced as low as it is. Anonymity + decentralized marketplace should equal a higher valuation, even though neither feature is fully released yet. Then I check this thread out and remember why Cloak is priced where it is. All of these fud wars, all of this juvenile behavior, red flags all around... basically helps kill the price of their own coin. I actually learn more in this thread about other coins than I do Cloak. Actually there is no announcement worth a damn tomorrow, perhaps maybe on Friday, and I have really really been hoping for something to happen for a week now. There is nothing on the horizon other than a pump and dump. Burners' questions have for the most part gone completely unanswered as have those of others asking serious questions about the exchange and further ahead.
Even though I spent some personal coin to lift up this coin when it needed it, I don't see any advancement a week later and it appears to me all of the hard questions are being ignored. So I am out of the buy game, hoping for some sell to get out. Be good all.
Which questions are you referring to? Burners' questions and others from pages 70 onwards: 1) When its Anonymous, how is it secured to not loose coins which we transfer to the exchange? This question was here before. 2) What is the fee for transactions? Where is the Fee going? In our Voot Escrow Fund? 3) Are we willing to pay our employees based on the fee's we earn? That would motivate everyone. 4) I lost 1 BTC with C-cex.com and I know their volumina very well and I see how hard it is to get a Exchange going. 5) How does the exchange promote anonymity when it is centralized and asks for name and email address on registration? Is it any more anonymous than Mintpal-on-Tor? 6) If the exchange is not decentralized on the voot network then what does it have to do with the voot currency? 7) Is the Voot exchange planned to be used by other coins for any other purpose as well? Some announcements in other threads are hinting at the topic of their having access to a decentralized exchange in the not distant future. 8 ) It is still centralized and as safe as every other centralized (Mintpal, Poloniex, Bittrex, etc) I guess. How is it ensured a.) Assets don't get stolen by Hacker b.) Assets don't get stolen by Admins like it happened on other exchanges. 9) What makes the anonymity exchange so special? I can also access Bittrex over the TOR network. Why should I use the Voot exchange? 10) In the end the vootexchange won't bring any real value to the coin. There will be a big rise for sure when it gets released. But the Voot-Exchange has in the end nothing to do with the coin as I understand this right now. Correct me if I am wrong. Great stuff thanks! Which questions are you referring to? Wich? Mostly about the exchange. What is the layout of the exchange, how will it work to support Voot, how will the responsibility running the exchange be shared etc... It's not like, here you have an exchange and nothing more. There must be some kind of plan on running it. The bottom line is that this exchange is a part of VOOT and some of the fees will be used to support the price of VOOT coin to help it rise and secure investors. Share the plan with us pls. I am on it and waiting for reply from Smoketeam ! Please read my posts the last pages. But please be a bit more critical with yourself too! Why? So. Prominent use of Peter Todd's name to hype the coin. Did anyone check with him first?
For a coin that is supposed to be about anon, maybe respecting that sort of thing might be an idea?
Why would you worry about a name, do you see what they have delivered so far? Personally it means nothing to me what they have delivered or not. And that is completely beside the point. The point is they are using Peter Todd's name repeatedly to give an air of legitmacy. If the tech is good, why can it not stand on its own merits, without name dropping a dev who has nothing to do with the coin? And who in fact works for another coin? But what is wrong with getting one of the best known man in the Dark Scene to ask him for reviewing a promising new coin based on his books? I understand your concerns and I am with you. They have to deliver now but the Video looks interesting not more not less. |

i was under the impression that Cloak was the being pumped before and who and how and where attracted negative attention.
i have to admit i have been occasionally confused and forget which is which with Cloak and Crypt..
both came out around the same time etc etc.
i will wait and see if someone else has something to ay about this coin.. i actually know little.

ALL of these coins even Bitcoin has negative aspects.. including my favorite coin in my sig.
so i think criticism is warranted on them ALL !
so i don't see much as FUD'ing as it is talking and making sure people have all info available to make an informed decision.

The whales have left. Price goes down. This announcement was not worth enough bang to give the required buy support to stay in 700 Sat. So I have sold for now and rebuying if things show up in brighter light. That's just my point of view. Sorry guys I had to move my investment in Shadow! Quite amazing what they release right now.
